Probably the best fast food chain in Apeldoorn in terms of tasty food, but why do the opening hours change almost every week? And a 3-hour time slot is also abnormally short.

This is truly the worst McDonald's I've ever been to! The steaks tasted like they'd already been eaten, the hamburgers were completely smashed, with a measly slice of tomato, and everything was incredibly dry. The sauces are extra even though they're supposed to be included in the meal. The €6 kids' meal is ridiculous for what little it contains. And speaking of the drinks in the kids' meal: they're absolutely unsuitable for children! My 4-year-old son ordered an Iced Tea, and to our surprise, it contained sparkling water. He couldn't drink it. Not to mention the amount of ice: easily twenty cubes! As a result, he barely got to drink anything and got a stomachache. The glasses also cost an extra €1, and apparently, there's no way around it. I've never seen anything like it! Furthermore, there's no children's play area inside… Nothing about this McDonald's is right. Regarding the language, the kiosks are only in English or Dutch. A little effort to offer more languages, especially French for tourists from neighboring countries, would be greatly appreciated. In short, we had a terrible meal and were frankly disappointed with the experience. It's by far the worst McDonald's we've had during our trip. For the price, the quality, and the services offered, it's truly disappointing.

First of all, this place has very strange opening hours; what fast food chain opens at 12 and closes at 8? As if that wasn't bad enough, I've been there often enough on opening time and they weren't even open yet—usually half an hour past opening time. And to top it all off, I was there just at 7 o'clock and was told that I couldn't place an order anymore because they were closing, even though it says here on Google that they close at 8. Very bad. I would say just go to the KFC right next door, but that one is just as bad.

Visited for the first time and also the last time; the fries looked stale, the hamburgers inedible, and the drinks were more water than drink. You won't see me here again.

What a run-down place. Even the benches were unusable. They looked like they had been worked on with knives. The branch was dirty and looked like no maintenance had been done since the 90s.

It was so incredibly filthy here!! Ugh, flies everywhere. And those flies really come at you. I pointed this out, but it wasn't taken seriously. They said it was known, but they didn't want to do anything about it either. Because they say they have a staff shortage. But there were three ladies behind the counter and they didn't have much to do..

Ugh... the absolute worst BK I have ever visited. What a loss for such a prime location. 1. The kitchen makes mistakes (that happens), but after pointing it out, something totally weird happened. In the kitchen, the rolls were half-emptied, and then the same rolls were reused, resulting in cross-contamination. 2. The manager is incompetent (Aug 16, 2026); he comes at me aggressively rather than being solution-oriented and offering apologies. Does not speak Dutch.. 3. The restaurant is so dirty; black flies can be seen everywhere inside. After pointing this out, I was told that this is known but there isn't enough staff, even though 3 ladies are standing at the cash register and aren't busy at all. 4. Trash cans are overflowing and haven't been emptied.. I could go on like this. Incomprehensible.

Lukewarm food. A burger was drowned in mustard. Charged 2 euros for deposit cups but gave out disposables. Of the two colas, one cup was filled with an unclear mix. Staff threw and tossed furniture around to get things ready towards closing time.

Ice cream maker broken for the umpteenth time and pests

Just stay away from here. The interior is dirty and broken, and the food is terrible.

Unfortunately, my experience was very bad. There was a lot of mold visible on the chairs and the tables had clearly not been cleaned properly; there were still dirty food remnants and stains on them. Moreover, I saw a lot of flies in the kitchen, which came across as very unhygienic. The staff were curt and not exactly friendly. Additionally, there was an unpleasant smell. Unfortunately, I also found the food to be very poor and absolutely not tasty. All in all, the whole place felt unhygienic and I would not be coming back anytime soon.

We already know from experience that this is certainly not the best Burger King in the Netherlands. But for me, this will probably really be the last time. We went today to pick up food and take it home. The restaurant seemed closed. The chairs were standing on all the tables the whole time; in other words: we don't want guests in the restaurant. The furniture also looked terrible. We ordered 4 burgers and a large portion of fries to take home. We also really wanted a milkshake, but the ice cream machine was broken. Upon arriving home, it turned out the fries had been forgotten. How difficult is it to put 5 items correctly in a bag? It wasn't even busy when we arrived, by the way. We didn't drive back for the fries; we live too far away for that, so it was a waste of money! The burgers were certainly nothing to write home about either. There wasn't a single tomato to be seen on the Whopper, and there was one tiny piece of lettuce on it. The burger was, however, swimming in sauces. The Crispy Chicken suddenly had arugula lettuce, whereas it is supposed to have iceberg lettuce, and was really incredibly dry and tough. The other two burgers were cooked way too long, making them dry and tough as well. More sauce than vegetables. We used to come here every now and then because the Whoppers are good burgers. But this branch seems to be getting worse and worse. I don't think we will be coming back, and I would definitely advise against going here.

Long wait, while four guys are standing around doing nothing. Broken benches, lots of dirt both at the drive-thru (old pallets behind signs) and in the shop (dirty tables). After waiting for more than 30 minutes, errors with the order anyway. Comes across as very messy. Soft serve ice cream not available?!? Worst BK ever!!!

This is truly the worst Burger King I have ever been to. The line to order was massively long. Then we had to wait more than 30 minutes for our food. The fries were cold, they had “forgotten” the sauces, and the burger looked like it was from the day before yesterday. Just downright bad.

Couldn't eat there because they wouldn't help you at the counter. Not even when I pointed out that the machine wasn't accepting coupons. Service is always very bad at this Burger King.

Ordered 2 sandwiches, 1 cola, and a milkshake at De Voorwaarts today. Unfortunately, the milkshake machine broke down. Received a full refund without issue. Positive: free parking, good sandwiches. Negative: waited a long time for the order, in my opinion incompetent staff, too hot inside, messy, not very clean, paid for the cup deposit, deposited the empty cup in the machine. Did not receive the deposit. McDonald's again next time.

Very bad Burger King location. Do NOT eat here unless you want to get food poisoning. It would be better if this branch were permanently closed. The staff is incompetent, uninterested, and it is a dirty, filthy mess inside.

The other reviews speak for themselves... Orders are incorrect, the gentlemen make no effort to help you properly, everything is out of stock, and you have to ask for a replacement yourself.

This is the worst Burger King I have visited in the Netherlands. With almost every order, the staff forget to provide something: cutlery, straws, or napkins. You always have to check your order before driving off. Today we rushed to arrive on time. According to the opening hours on the door and on Google, the restaurant was supposed to be open until 8:00 PM. We arrived around 7:30 PM, but the restaurant was already closed. Exactly the same thing happened a few weeks ago in the morning. It stated that the restaurant would open at 11:00 AM, but even at 12:00 PM, it was still not open. I understand that people in the Netherlands like a relaxed pace, but at least don't be too lazy to adjust the opening hours. If the restaurant is not operating according to the stated times, update them on Google and at the restaurant entrance. Customers rely on this information, make time, and drive specifically to you. Either operate according to the stated opening hours, or list the actual opening hours. That is simply a matter of respect for the customer. I am very disappointed with this way of working and hope that management does something about it.

Closed on Saturday at 5 PM! Yet the website says it's open. We have been here for 10 minutes now, completely astonished, and have already seen 10 families leaving with the same astonishment.

The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, they were very neglected. There were 25 orders and only 3 employees. The woman preparing the food was working incredibly hard, one person was apparently still being trained, and the third was taking orders, processing them, and helping with the fries. The manager (the owner) just sat in the office and only came out to handle cancellations. In my opinion, she could have supported her team.

Waiting 15 minutes for your hamburger after placing your order at the drive-thru window. That's not what I expected. Furthermore, there was no one else there, so it couldn't have been due to the crowds. It was definitely the last time for us here in Apeldoorn.

It was incredibly busy and we had to wait a long time, but fortunately the food was hot and water for medication was no problem either. So that was just absolutely great.

Worst Burger King in the whole of the Netherlands. Waited 20 minutes for 1 medium menu with loaded fries. The burger meat had no taste, the extra bacon didn't taste like bacon, and the loaded fries were cooked but not crispy. 23 euros and an hour of my money and time wasted in the pod. Not recommended, and everyone works in slow motion.

The food is okay. The rest……a disaster. Broken benches, filthy tables, chairs, and floor. Staff at the counter are rude, uninterested, and slow. The low point is two benches where the faux leather has been completely torn off and laid over the lining like some sort of blanket. And that’s what you, as a customer, are supposed to sit on. Really.....Burger King, shame on you!

We had it delivered to our home. Half of the food for 2 adults and 2 children was missing; it concerned the children's meals and, to top it all off, it tasted like nothing. We are getting a whopping 4 euros back from an order that cost almost 60 euros. Scandalous, we will not order from here again.

Very disappointing experience at Burger King Apeldoorn. It seems like the sauces are forgotten as a matter of course. When you ask for them, you are only told that the ketchup is out of stock, without this being indicated beforehand. Additionally, the waiting time is far too long. My order simply seemed to have been forgotten. The food sat there for a long time before it was packed, and I ended up waiting over 35 minutes for a single sandwich, even though the busiest period had already passed. The restaurant itself also does not make a well-kept impression. The benches and chairs look dirty and poorly maintained. It is a shame, because this could really be much better.

Unfortunately, a bad experience. Picked up food in April 2026. Waited over 30 minutes and was served cold food. The man behind the counter was friendly, but alone! I indicated that I was filing a complaint via the complaint form. It is now July 2026, and after multiple emails from head office, I have received no further response from the restaurant. Despite the effort made by head office. Definitely not recommended!

Half the food not received, unreachable

Man, this has gotten so bad. Sofas with moldy leather and a few leather stickers stuck on them that are peeling off, staff that don't speak Dutch. And it's especially annoying when the music is too loud. For an order of 3 people, we had to wait well over 30 minutes, during which 4 things were wrong: -Received a vegan burger while I had ordered a standard one. -Daughter just got water instead of Sprite -No fries sauce, because apparently they had run out. Didn't get a refund because apparently that wasn't possible. -Milkshake was just lukewarm and full of air bubbles I am definitely never coming here again.

If you want to eat something here, you have to take plenty of time, because your order arrives very, very slowly.

A dreary affair. That is nothing new. The fact that the food is not always of good quality is also nothing new. A manager who lectures her employees in full view of customers and then watches like a supervisor as her people sweat it out in the sweltering heat. That *was* new. And unprofessional, and even worse, uncollegial. It is not getting any better.

It's just that it's the food. But otherwise, nothing positive. All the tables and benches were simply filthy; it looked like there was a layer of oil on the tables along with food residue. The upholstery on the benches was damaged and looked like mold or something. It took a long time for the food to be ready and it wasn't warm. Afterwards, returning the deposit for the cups also took a long time; they have a machine, but it didn't accept the cups because they should have been scanned first. Waited 5 minutes for help at the counter, and then it took another 3 days for the money to be refunded.

I don't think the burgers are nearly as good as they used to be.

Extreme long wait time for simple orders, customers with hair in there burgers. Raw fries served out. Order a statiegeld cup for one eur. The serve out with a paper one. Staff snapping at customers, because the can't handle the pressure. Not enough staff to keep everything clean.

The benches are broken, they aren't taking orders at the counter, and there's a super long line to order something. Even making a change to an order (a drink) before they've even started preparing it isn't possible. I used to find Burger King a nice change of pace, but after just a few visits to this restaurant, it's been a nightmare.

Pffff, what a mess! Half of the ordering equipment doesn't work. Way too complex with codes. The staff works very chaotically; there is absolutely no system to it. The food you get falls into the category of soggy farts, and the bread rolls are watery. Only the mayonnaise and the cola were fine. The tables are dirty, not cleaned up, and the young man walking around to sort this out has absolutely no interest in doing so. Very disappointing!

We ate there twice this time, and neither time was anything to write home about. The last time, there was no bacon on the smoky bacon deluxe, BBQ sauce instead of ketchup, and no toy with the kids' menu. I got angry looks when I asked for the toy.

This was without a doubt the worst experience I have ever had at a Burger King. The line was extremely long, and despite the wait, the service was downright terrible. The 'restaurant manager' (although I wonder if there really was a manager) came across as grumpy and uninterested and seemed to make absolutely no effort to help customers. Half of the items on the receipt were missing from my order. Additionally, I had specifically asked for a gift for my little daughter, but the response was vague and uncomprehending: no one knew anything about it, it supposedly wasn't there, and subsequently, they refused to give the money back. No apologies, no solution, no customer friendliness. As if that wasn't enough, the restaurant itself was also in poor condition. The chairs were dirty, the toilets were really filthy, and the leather sofas were full of tears and damage. The furniture was clearly broken and poorly maintained. Furthermore, it was far too hot inside, which made the wait even more unpleasant. Even the child seat was useless: far too big and totally impractical for normal small children. All in all, it felt like customers were mostly seen as a nuisance here. I will absolutely never come back here and would not recommend this branch to others either.

After ordering at the terminal, the food arrived at our table very quickly and was freshly prepared. The food was hot and delicious, and the quality was excellent. The Burger King restaurant and restrooms were clean, as was the parking lot. The staff was friendly and attentive. I was very satisfied with my visit to this Burger King restaurant. I will definitely come back.

What we had ordered was suddenly unavailable, food lukewarm, deposit cup machine broken but still charged for the cup, long wait, few staff, dirty toilet.

In 1 word: dirty. Toilets dirty. Floor dirty. Benches dirty (and broken). The mandatory deposit cups were dirty. Too filthy. Fries were soggy, burgers were actually just cold. You can't relax because everything just isn't quite right. Staff very friendly, hence two stars.

Food OK. Pay close attention to get your deposit back: they have to activate your cup beforehand, and you have to make that quite emphatically clear.

Staff would rather keep the Drive-Thru closed so they can stand by the back door smoking during working hours. And if you ask why it isn't open: "I don't feel like it, ma'am, I'm tired."

This is really outdated, closing at 8 PM. I got a Whopper menu there the other day, drove back less than 10 minutes and everything was cold. Had to heat it up in the microwave, yuck. Edit 30-3-26: Still closing at 8:00 PM. They told me about 5 months ago that they would have 'more normal' opening hours again soon. Well, apparently not yet. It's a shame that you have to give a minimum of 1 star, but they don't deserve any at all.

BK like any other. Place was clean, not too crowded. Only 2 digital order screens so bit of a wait due dinnertime rush, food was quick. Tasted decent, but presentation noticably rushed due the dozen or so orders appearing in just a few minutes. The plastic cups and the return system stay annoying, ice bucket overfilled so machine didnt want to take my cup that had ice left in it. Cool plus, they allow dogs inside as long as they are leashed and not bothering other customers. Fun interactions when people noticed I had a huge cuddly dog under the table.

Terrible place! No one speaks Dutch, we had to wait well over 45 minutes for our food, and the toilets are filthy, with a clogged sink and no toilet paper. Then we were given disposable cups even though we were required to pay a deposit for reusable cups. A staff member grumpily says they don't have any reusable cups?! After a lot of snapping, we eventually got our money back from her.

One female employee, who was very friendly to us, was rudely dragged behind the counter by the manager today for a short, shouted-at-the-door conversation. That's no way to treat your employees!
