Café Eddy Bar in Oude Pijp

A really lovely bar. We were thrilled with the atmosphere and Eddy's friendliness and humor. The prices were great and we will definitely be back.

We visited this bar several times during our stay in Amsterdam. We went to play darts, which were free. The prices were reasonable, with a 250ml beer costing around €3.50. The bartender was very friendly, and the place had a great atmosphere. The music was louder in the evenings, which really set the mood.

The only place in Amsterdam with a singing bartender! Absolute legendary bar!

After walking past this cafe for years, I finally went. What a lovely cafe. Such a genuine one. Great spot for a beer.

An honest bar with a warm atmosphere. Pints ​​are well-poured, the staff knows their stuff, and the clientele is a mixed crowd. Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, but always convivial. Music ranges from classics to new hits. You sense that everyone comes here to relax, not to impress.

This is where we had the most fun at night in Amsterdam, wish we had found it earlier. Local music, nice people, the vibes were just perfect. We spent the night drinking our beer, chatting and playing darts, and felt really welcomed there, everyone was so friendly!

A nice little pub. Played darts and had a beer. A bit old & worn, but the toilet was brand new so that was a plus.

Great atmosphere with very nice and kind service. When we went there it was really calm and wholesome. I got some really good recommendations. We felt very much welcomed there even though most people were locals.

This is such a nice bar, the waitress was so friendly. However, this is a locals only bar. We are English are were clearly not welcome here. Two men at the bar made us feel extremely uncomfortable so we sat outside, they still managed to give us a look as they left. We spoke to a local lady who confirmed that tourists should keep away from this bar.

Café Eddy Bar is my favorite café in Amsterdam. This traditional Dutch café truly embodies Amsterdam. It's always bustling with a fun mix of people. Regulars, locals, yuppies, passersby, and tourists all gather at the Eddy with one common goal: enjoying a drink. You can relax on the sunny terrace, play darts at one of the various dartboards, or chat at the bar. This is all made possible by the bartenders, who are always up for a laugh—the best! They serve everything you could wish for in terms of drinks. The "kopstootjes" (headbutts) are delicious and highly recommended.

Cool bar. One nice barman working there, the older woman working there doesn’t make you feel welcome at all. Looking at the other reviews this is a common occurrence. So if you’re a tourist I wouldn’t bother going.

Was recommended this bar by a friend, we had a very different experience to them. Encountered an extremely rude blonde woman working behind the bar - she had to be told by another staff member at one point to serve me. Felt like our presence at bar was an inconvenience. Really didn't feel welcome. We had made a point of journeying across the city to go here, wasn't worth it sadly.

The bar itself had potential — cozy atmosphere, decent drinks, and a good location — but unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the incredibly rude service from an older woman working there. From the moment we walked in, she seemed annoyed by our presence, and her attitude didn’t improve. There was a real sense that we were inconveniencing her just by being there. It made what could’ve been a nice evening feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Everyone has bad days, but this felt more like a regular vibe than a one-off. Won’t be coming back, and can’t recommend.

Locals in a local setting perfect for getting acquainted with Amsterdam and the way it's supposed to be, the way it's always been. Sit, have your beers and enjoy the small pub ambience or test out your ears on some good Dutch accents, a few rounds of darts and catch game of Carom billiards.

Typical bar in which we met super welcoming and friendly locals! Nice music and atmosphere too. Beers and glass of wine at the top 🍻 Delighted to have come across the Café Eddy bar where we will be happy to return during our next stay 🇳🇱

Quaint sports bar. Play darts, billiards and watch football. A cold Heineken rounds off the day. Definitely not the last time I've been there.

We stopped in here for one last drink and ended up staying to play darts with a few locals. Great little spot in Amsterdam.

Very cozy cafe, the father of Andre Hazes senior used to come here. You can play cards, watch football and play darts there. Friendly staff, definitely nice to go there again.

Kwam er als tiener , nu niet meer , woon veel te ver weg , hoe is het met femmy ? Sprak haar voor het laatst in 1997 , altijd een goed adres geweest en zo te zien nog steeds Helaas lees ik net , ze is overleden , hoe triest

Great interior, vintage and cozy. However me and my friend were mocked for our ‘non spotless Dutch’ and it felt quite rude and made us feel uncomfortable. We were pushed to pay immediately and it just didn’t feel good.

This was my favorite place at Amsterdam. It feels that everyone is having a great time and ladies at the Bar are super chill 😎 Met some great people while drinking there. Hope I get back someday.
