Great food, service is good, though they did miss my drink first time around.

We had planned to come here for a good lunch, but we were a bit disappointed. The Caesar salad without chicken already cost 14 euros, and if you wanted chicken, you had to add another 4 euros. The beef tartare with burrata was tasty, but far too little for 14.50 euros. We expected bread, but it wasn't included. Water was free, which made it more pleasant.

Google maps did not say it was a hotel

Excellent food at Café Jansen. You'd expect a traditional Dutch café, but it's a very modern concept. Ideally located near the A10 highway. Parking is free, which is rare in Amsterdam. It was very quiet for a Thursday, which was a bit concerning. The staff, however, had plenty of time for us, so we received very friendly and prompt service.

The food was very tasty and the service was good, but slightly overpriced. We had two main courses (the beef and the chicken) and one dessert to share (sponge cake), plus three glasses of chardonnay and a coffee.

Unique location and a small lunch menu with fun and tasty dishes (although different from what's listed online). I had the quinoa, which was delicious but a small portion, so I ordered CHIPS (side note: not fries as mentioned, as we're in North Holland 😊) for €6.50, which is quite expensive... All in all, great!

The cod was great, service was very friendly, and there was no wait. It’s a hard place to find if you don’t know the area, but there is a small sign in the parking lot to direct you the right way.

Zeer goede zaak! Geweldig vegetarisch voorgerecht, origineel hoofdgerecht (roodbaars) met zalige bijgerechten. De wijnkaart is origineel en betaalbaar. De bediening is uitstekend. Kortom: het is wat lastig bereikbaar, maar het is echt de moeite waard.

Nice food/dinner but prices on the high side for what you get. Plate with one large ravioli at 26.50, just like a piece of fish with some fennel. Side dishes such as lettuce and fries for 6.50. Furthermore, affordable wines and nice service. Location ok, atmosphere between a hotel bar and a restaurant (or something).

Excellent food and friendly staff. We were absolutely delighted at every single item we ordered. Wonderfully executed dishes that are well worth a bit of travel even if you aren't staying in the hotel. If you are staying in the hotel, I can only recommend having dinner here! Absolutamente criminal que este lugar no es 5 estrellas aquí y en todas partes. Partner y yo estamos en Amsterdam de vacaciones y habíamos venido aquí desde el aeropuerto y pensamos en dar una oportunidad al restaurante del hotel. No esperábamos mucho porque era un restaurante de hotel y no habíamos oído grandes cosas sobre la comida en Amsterdam. Bueno, nos quedamos boquiabiertos, fue una de las mejores comidas que he comido y he comido en muchos restaurantes de todo el mundo durante muchos años de viaje. Recientemente cambiaron su menú y su versión del fondant de papa es morir por uno de los cilindros de papa homónimos bajo un montículo suavemente batido de delicioso queso y salsa de crema con estranguladores y puerros, y algunas cebollas fritas en la parte inferior. Después de eso fue un filete perfectamente cocinado "corte de carnicero" con papas fritas hechas profesionalmente que eran adecuadamente crujientes por fuera y almohadas por dentro. Mi compañero tenía sus ravioles de pato, un gran ravioli relleno de pato y cubierto de una excelente salsa que estábamos usando para nuestras papas fritas mucho después de que los ravioles se habían ido. Los botes de ensalada "pequeños césar" ganaron puntos tanto por presentación como por sabor. Incluso el postre fue fantástico, una panna terra cotta de chirivía que no sonaba como que debería ser delicioso y sin embargo fue una de las mejores panna cottas que he probado. Incluso el servicio fue muy atento y la joven que nos atendió fue bastante servicial y entusiasta. Los dos estamos un poco tristes de que comimos aquí como nuestra primera comida en Amsterdam, ya que ahora vamos a estar comparando en cualquier otro lugar que vayamos a este lugar y sin duda será difícil para las comparaciones ser favorables. Hazle un favor a tus papilas gustativas y estómago y ve aquí antes de que muchas otras personas lo descubran y las esperas se hagan insufriblemente largas.

Nice place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I only had breakfast there. There is atmospheric music in the background, the room is beautifully decorated with plants, and the service was fast and friendly!

If this is on your door, then you should at least have staff who understand the word 'oat cappuccino' 😂

Good coffee, tasty mushroom toast, Discretely located, in a quiet neighborhood with lots of space. Lots of light comes in on sunny days, which makes your breakfast more enjoyable. Nice service.

Fast service, partly. very friendly, sometimes less so. The coffee was very good, but the cups could have been clean and the cappucino cups could have been a little larger. The royal breakfast for 15 euros was rather middle-class and modest. Many young people. Kind regards, Matthias

They are hard working, I'm sorry but they don't know half of it and they don't want to work. Half an hour for a coffee, 1 hour for them to serve you or listen to you. I'm sorry but it's very messy without forgetting that in all the rooms there is the noise of the air extractor motor 24/7, making it impossible to rest well….

Big prices, small portions, quality okay. Service was tried hard. There is room for improvement everywhere.

It was a bit empty for a Saturday evening. I think that's because of the location and the fact that it still needs to be discovered. Despite that, we had a delicious meal. Service is good and a party with beautifully presented plates!

Overall, food is good (I went twice for lunch), but very expensive for the size. My tartare was 16€ for the small portion (maybe equal in size to 2 Oreos with 3 slices of baguette). My friend took the chicken. It was 24€ for a very small piece of chicken with 3 carrots. For lunch, these are way too expensive for the size. At least it taste very good, service is professional and friendly, menu changes per season. A lot of people seem to sit there with there laptop working.

Hoge verwachtingen door de eerdere reviews. Eten is lekker, maar best kleine porties en naar verhouding duur. Je moet apart patat en salade bij bestellen (7 euro per stuk). Muziek luid. Personeel was vriendelijk.

Great food, great servers, good vibes

De vegetarische lunchgerechten waren op. Op ons eigen voorstel werd er een Ceasarsalade gemaakt zonder vlees. Daar was uiteindelijk niets substantieels/vullends aan toegevoegd ipv bacon. Wel zelfde prijs als vleesvariant. €16,- voor een paar blaadjes sla en 3 stukjes wortel met dressing is zwaar overpriced. Er werd friet bijgeserveerd, dachten we, die wij niet besteld hadden maar wel werd afgerekend a €7,-. Dit is de slechtse horeca ervaring die wij in jaren hebben gehad. Vermijden deze toko.

Het restaurant zit midden in een omgeving dat nog volop in ontwikkeling is. Maar daar merk je niks van binnen het restaurant. Onwijs aardig en gastvrije medewerkers. Persoonlijk contact en aandacht voor iedereen. Eten is ook heerlijk. Vooral de burrata was favoriet bij ons!

Gerechten zijn Bieno opgemaakt. Porties zijn wat klein.

It was hard to find this cafe. We were early. The food was prettily served and good to eat, but it was a lot of money for a small amount. The service was ok.

Hier kann man wirklich noch von Kochkunst reden! Das Essen sieht nicht nur lecker aus sondern ist es auch! Der Service ist super schnell, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wenn man einen sehr schönen Abend verbringen möchte ist man hier richtig!

Great service, however the food let down the place, very flavorless and a lot the kitchen could do better.

Gezellige avond beleefd. Eerst buiten een drankje, daarna naar binnen in het restaurant om te dineren. Prima service, lekker eten.

Heerlijke avond gehad bij Café Jansen! Bij binnenkomst valt het moderne, maar warme interieur direct op. Super fijne ambiance. Van het eten en de wijnen hebben wij echt genoten. De kaasplank, met alleen kazen uit Nederland, die gepaard ging met een waanzinnige dessertwijn, was een van de beste die wij ooit hadden. 10/10!

Na een zeer warm welkom van het personeel bij Cafe Jansen, zijn wij aan tafel gegaan. Heerlijk eten, fijne wijnen en een hele toegankelijke sfeer. Na het diner zijn wij richting onze kamer gegaan. Heerlijke bedden en een fantastisch uitzicht. Overal is over nagedacht, zo is er een plek voor de koffer onder het bed en zijn er fijne duurzame producten beschikbaar in de badkamer. Na een uitgeruste nacht zijn wij gaan ontbijten. De pancakes zijn zeker een aanrader! Wij komen hier zeker weer terug!

Heerlijk gegeten en fantastische wijn erbij! Mooie locatie met nog mooiere inrichting. Ik ben verliefd op de ronde bank. Ik had de tartaar, lamsnek en een kaasplankje. Kaasplankje met heerlijke Nederlandse kazen en een goeie hoeveelheid.

Gisteravond hier gegeten en geborreld. Dit is een superplek in de oude bijlmerbajes. Het is een hotel met een fijn restaurant op de begaande grond. Dit gebied in Amsterdam is vol in ontwikkeling met nieuwe woontorens, studenten huisvesting en een middelbare school. Centraal ligt dit laagdrempelige cafe/restaurant met goed eten, mooie wijnen maar bovenal; een fijne service! Lieve mensen die je een warm welkom geven en je de hele avond verwennen. Aanwinst voor de stad! We komen zeker weer!

Hele mooie locatie om heerlijk te dineren! De plek waar het restaurant zich bevindt is natuurlijk al uniek, in de oude Bijlmer Bajes, al is daar niets meer van te zien als je binnen staat. Prachtig interieur, heerlijk eten, enorm verrast door de waanzinnige wijnen en fijne service. Wij hebben een hele fijne avond gehad en komen zeker weer!

Gezellig, mooi en smaakvol restaurant op een bijzondere plek in de stad Amsterdam. De medewerkers van Cafe Jansen zorgen dat het je aan niks ontbreekt. Kortom van mij 5* en we gaan er snel weer eten en slapen.

Yesterday was terrific @Hotel Jansen in Amsterdam! The Hotel was amazing and has wonderful rooms. Staff was kind and very willing to help! The food in the restaurant great as well. Also the service in the restaurant was really good. Definitely recommend staying here as the location is convenient, service is great and the hotel is beautifully designed.
