The pea soup with smoked sausages and the onion soup were delicious, and the baguette was crispy, which isn't the case in many places. We'll definitely be back.

We found it by chance on the streets of Jordan and stopped here for a quick lunch. We didn't want to leave. The soup and omelette were excellent, and the service was quick and pleasant.

We stumbled upon this cafe looking for a drink and a quick bite. The barkeep was an absolute gem, who was serving both inside and the tabletop outside. The hustle, attention to orders, making change and polite while they were ran off their feet, I'd hire them in a minute. Food recommendations were perfect, served hot, and with a smile. If you visit and are seated outside, don't be afraid to wander inside to order. Food is worth it!

The food was delicious! But the service and atmosphere made everything even better. Britt the bartender and Sastia who served our food and drinks made our afternoon. Definitely recommended!!!

I didn’t try any food there that’s why I gave one star, regarding the service and the atmosphere everything was ok. The only thing that I found it weird was the cashier as she refused to provide us with seperate bills impolitely, couldn’t understand the reason behind this strange rule and had to pay on behalf of the whole group

I have ended up coming and spending time here on each of my trips to Amsterdam and it's always a lovely feeling. Doesn't feel like a tourist trap, warm and efficient service, good selection of beer, good (and reasonably priced) food.

It was a pleasure to spend a couple of hours at this lovely little pub on Saturday afternoon! Great place to watch Amsterdam go by and a nice selection of drinks. There was no room left outdoors, but the indoors suited us fine. The history of the place really seeps through. Finally, I must give special mention to the three bar staff who were super attentive and friendly. Thanks for having us!

We were looking for a quiet place for a drink on a Saturday evening. The café is small and cozy, and the cocktails were delicious. We would go back to this unique location.

The bar is along the canal which is nice, but the quality-price ratio is not so great in my opinion. The service is regular but it's not worth the price.

This charming pub/bar is a great place to have a drink and people-watch while visiting Amsterdam. I’ve been here a couple of times and the staff are super friendly. There’s also a seating area over the road overlooking the canal. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

We were relaxing in the city and just wanted to enjoy a beer by the water. The place looks nice at first glance, but what happened to us there was absolutely outrageous. There's no drinks menu outside – only food is listed. That in itself is dubious. After a 0.4l beer each (no mention of a "special beer" or anything like that), we were billed €23 for TWO beers! We initially thought it was a mistake. But no – the price was supposedly correct. When we asked, the waiter couldn't give us any information about the prices (sure, very believable...), and when we asked inside and expressed our displeasure about these exorbitant prices, the waitress became rude and unfriendly. Sorry, but anyone who treats guests like that and conceals prices has no place in the restaurant industry. It was pure rip-off – we'll definitely never come back and certainly won't recommend the place to anyone.

Jeroen was our bartender, the best in town. He was quick with the drinks, had great music, and allowed our dog inside. He could use some new bar jokes though.

We live around the corner and it’s nice but they don’t have any vegan burger or bitterballen like all the other places so we never really go there. Such a shame.

Nice little bar/pub by the river. good selection of beers, they did not serve food when we where there. A little slow service by the table, so we left after one beer. nice seating outide by the canal.

The service was rudeness personified. Doesn't even say hello, looks at you rudely, doesn't bring the coffee you ordered and when you ask him about it he doesn't react. At some point he brought the coffee unmotivated. Never again!

We came here on a beautiful sunny day just to enjoy an Aperol, but unfortunately, this turned out to be the worst possible choice of café. The staff looked annoyed from the very beginning and reacted with clear irritation when we politely asked to place an order. There was zero hospitality, no smile, and we felt like we were disturbing them just by being there. It’s truly disappointing when such a lovely day gets spoiled by such poor service.

Worse than a self-services. We set outside, I went in to order and was rudely bounced at the bar to wait outside to place an order. The waiter was not interested in her job but at least casually dropped by to take an order.

Lack of honesty on the part of this cafe. I asked for a burger and they brought me fries + burger. thinking the fries were included with the burger, I wasn't surprised. But in fact, it added an extra €5 even though I hadn't asked for these fries. The menu card was not provided, I made my choice by looking at the photo menu on Google maps but the prices were not at all good. So I was very surprised by the final score. 35€ for this meal was a very expensive price. In short, to flee

Not the best coffee you’ll ever drink but a nice place to sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by.

A bit of a strange man in the service but friendly. A jasmine tea would be too “fancy” to ask for according to him but a fresh ginger tea or fresh mint tea was on the menu (strange reaction therefore…). Furthermore, I sat on the terrace with the sun on my face. Too bad that only two of the three cakes on the menu were available, I also enjoyed the carrot cake (the apple pie was still frozen inside)

A very nice, quiet cafeteria with a very friendly waitress, I recommend it, in addition to trying their homemade apple 🍏, carrot 🥕 and cheese 🧀 cakes and there are coffees, ☕ cocktails 🫗beer 🍺 and very delicious burgers 🍔.

We had a drink here before going for lunch and the waitress was super friendly and even spoke Spanish to us. We had a couple of half pints of Affligem, loved the glass they were served in! We also had a glass of very nice white wine, Verdejo but a better brand than we’ve seen around here.

Honestly the staff were really rude. Wasn’t really busy, but seems like it was an inconvenience for them to simply serve people. There’s so much to do around Amsterdam, and I don’t recommend this place at all. Avoid it if you can.

I've been coming Amsterdam for 3/week stays 2-3 x a year for the last 16 years. The last time it was May 2024 and bumped into Cafe 't Molentje. What a find! I really like American sandwiches and way back, found they're not big in Amsterdam. So, when I sat down and ordered a sandwich on their menu... wow, it exceeded my expectations! The service was very good, and we were sitting outside. Drinks are very good and inside had that classic Dutch "brown bar" look and feel. I will be going back there when we return in November to have another great sandwich and drink but inside then!

I stopped here today after a long walk in Amsterdam I took a small beer and a burger and I payed 20€ for it The burger looked good but when I start eating it it was cold and the meat was pretty hard. They didn’t ask me how did I wanted my meat cooked and the cheese in the cheese burger was pretty hard The service is pretty good, I ate outside and the space was small and crowded All things considered I Don’t think that it was worth the price I paid and I would not return

Very bad attention. Dark-skinned waitress with Spanish speaking, very rude, treated us terribly. I asked about the beers he had, and he told me that he had many, of which I ordered 2 normal brands and there weren't any (he didn't have that many), we also ordered a Gin Tonic and he told us that what he had there...again very bad manners, she was angry but it was not our fault. Another girl came out who was working with her and they neither spoke nor looked at each other. Terrible atmosphere. The bar was dirty, full of unwashed glasses, the tables were not cleaned between clients. There was a table next to the bar at one end (we don't understand why), because it wasn't a place, since they bothered us because they had to pass by there, with boxes of soft drinks that they even hit on our heads. And apart from all this, 3 beers and 1 Gin and tonic almost €30 I do not recommend at all.

What an incredibly pleasant experience! Service extremely attentive. We ordered one soup and one panini to share and we asked for an extra spoon for the soup. A little later someone from the waiter came out to ask if we wanted to share the panini too. Then we were both served a plate with a small soup and half a panini. Extremely hospitable. Highly recommended!

It’s a Place I’ve ridden by many times and said, ‘I need to go in there,’ so I finally did. Very solid brown cafe in the 9 Streets! It’s a corner bar, my first choice!! It’s also very tiny which is kind of nice. There are four tables inside that can accommodate maybe, 12-15 and a couple high tables looking out. I sat at one, looking into the canal, pondering my future. There is outdoor seating for another 10-15. Perfect when there is nice weather or when it’s cold AF. I was there today, the temp was 9° and there were several people outside. For reference, it’s across the bridge from Soho House and looks onto the canal. I had an IPA, no food. They do have food…bar food, so pretty typical fried food. Think bitterballen. You’re going for the atmosphere (cozy) and location (idyllic) imo. Definitely a place to go back to. Better in nice weather or very cold weather when it’s packed inside. I’ve included a shaky video and improving photos! That’s all for now!

I enjoy visiting this place when in Amsterdam. The only fault I had is how you get a pint,the head I'd at least quarter of the pint.....otherwise a great spot to watch the city pass by.

Kleines Lokal wie es aber auch in Amsterdam üblich ist. Wir wurden freundlich bedient und das Essen hat uns super geschmeckt. Sollten wir nochmal in Amsterdam sein, müssen wir hier unbedingt wieder Bitterballen und Kässtangl essen. :)
