We are back in Belgrade and we are still waiting on that cocacola :) waiter is creepy

On an average weekend, the cafe is incredibly busy, so you might have to wait a while for a table. It works via a QR code, which is faster. We both had a ham sandwich with soup, which was truly exceptional. We hadn't expected it to be this good, and we definitely enjoyed it. The food arrived quickly, but the drinks (a juice and coffee) took ages for some reason. The host who showed us to our table wasn't in the mood, but the servers who came to help us later were super friendly. It's a bit pricey for a museum cafe, but we enjoyed the food and the seating.

When I arrived, I was seated immediately, but I waited for the waiter for about 15 minutes. I lost my appetite and had to order online. My daughter ordered mushroom soup, and the table was incredibly uncomfortable. By the time the waiter finally showed up, it was too late. I asked for two glasses of water, and she told me I had to get up and go get it myself. In short, the service was terrible and the staff was very unfriendly. They should choose their waiters more carefully.

Hazelnut caramel cheesecake—absolutely fantastic and to die for!

Not bad. As museum cafe’s go this one was very good! The coffee was exceptional.

I spend €12 on a cheesecake and a brownie and didn’t finish either of them. You get getting them nicer in the supermarket. We have to wait a long time too.

The service is friendly and the food is good. I had the hummus with roast pumpkin, cashew, pomegranate, and pumpkin seeds, and then later, the wild venison pastry, a warm, hearty pie for a gray day.

The cafe inside the museum is great to have a bite to eat when one is inside the museum. Food is not amazing, but perfectly edible. Service is good & atmosphere is vibrant, with ample of space between seats. We had some small bites to eat & coffees. We were happy to say the cafe well serve its purpose.

We arrived and waited for the waitress for 25 minutes. People who arrived after us were served, but we weren't. We gave up and left. Terrible service, I don't recommend it, however, the museum is worth visiting.

The food and beverage service is very disappointing. The price is very poor in relation to the quality and quantity. The service isn't bad, but it's also not great.

Ordered the French breakfast with ‘coffee of you choice’ then told we had to pay £1 extra for flat whites. We asked for the manager who would not budge. Pathetic. As you can see, they were rushed off their feet.

Loved this museum café — so good we came twice! 😄 We first stopped by before hitting the museum because, honestly, we were starving. lol Then after spending six hours wandering around the exhibits, we ended up right back here again for dessert and coffee — no regrets! The museum closes at 5pm, but they let guests linger a bit. We stayed until around 6:30pm, enjoying our treats in peace. The food here was surprisingly delicious for a museum café, and I have a theory — maybe it’s because there’s a Michelin-starred restaurant inside the same museum? Either that chef has a hand in it, or the museum just really cares about good food. Either way, we weren’t complaining. Service was friendly and efficient, though their mobile ordering app never worked (I tried twice!). In the end, ordering from an actual human turned out to be the best solution — classic always wins. For lunch, we had the chicken salad, mushroom soup, and bitterballen — all excellent. Then later we came back for apple pie and coffee, which totally hit the spot. And let me tell you, I’ve had bitterballen at plenty of places in the Netherlands, but this one? Hands down the best I’ve ever had. 🙌 Highly recommend stopping by — whether it’s for a quick coffee and pastry or a full-on lunch between museum strolls, this café totally delivers!

Waited 20 mins for one cappuccino

Glenis is an excellent host, and her work isn't for everyone. She's fluent in several languages. We were extremely satisfied.

Overprices and understaffed, this place serves small portions at a large price. With long waiting time came cold coffee. Also: never been to a café, where order and pay up front through your phone, and the waiter is there only to bring you the food you ordered. Paistries were delicious tho'

Nice atmosphere and delicious cakes, but the service was horrible. I know it's not easy, but staff giving you attitutde after making multiple mistakes is just not good enough.

Inside the Rijksmuseum, it was very convenient, but when I went there was a queue to get a table. We had a snack that was very tasty and a dessert with a beautiful presentation, shaped like little Amsterdam houses.

Very nice staff and waiters. The service was excellent, we had a problem because our order was duplicated by the system and came twice, but they head waiter resolved it, refunded us the money and gave us a free coffee for the inconvenience. We would definitely go again!

Entered the place, had to place my own order, pay with full credit card details, and then had to wait ten minutes for one single espresso. What is it exactly that waiters do here, besides calmly sipping their juices every five minutes behind the bar? I NEVER leave negative reviews, but where I’m from, everybody would have been fired after the first day.

Beautiful and elegant cafe European museum cafes each have their own unique design, and they're a must-try for me. The Rijksmuseum's is thoughtfully located at the entrance, beautiful and comfortable. Food: The cafe is delicious, and the apple pie is excellent. You can order by scanning and paying. Hours: Museums close at 5 PM, and the cafe is open until 6 PM.

Few dishes offered but good quality, fresh, tasty and friendly food. The service is very slow and completely disjointed. What a shame

The order system with QR code doesn't work, we had to wait half an hour for nothing, which is a pain given that the museum closes so early. A big waste of time. Also the food is bad and expensive.

Relatively small restaurant for a popular museum like the Rijksmuseum ,this means having to wait to be seated.

Cramped (there’s barely any space to walk and very little gaps between tables!), extremely busy but friendly waitresses. Taste wise… it’s OK just to fill your hunger.

Long long long waiting time - don’t go there unless you have 30 mins of your time

The setting is magnificent, but once you're seated, be very, very patient to be served. Consider selling a kidney or two too. Coffee costs 500 euros per liter for espresso. If you can't afford it, you can settle for a Coke; it's only 25 euros per liter.

The service was so bad we had to leave… App order doesn’t work. We asked for help for two waitresses and both looked at us and do not acknowledged us. So rude! The worst experience in Amsterdam so far. Just avoid it if you can: pricey, bad service and long wait.

Daisy was the sweetest waitress I’ve ever experienced! Her smile was great and we were helped very fast!

The breakfast was way overpriced, and it consisted of just one croissant (though very tasty) with two small pieces of melon and a tiny amount of butter and jam. The granola was tasty, but a bit stiff and there wasn't much granola on it. The chef tried his best, but the staff didn't follow through. They spent more time chatting and joking with each other than actually working, which is quite annoying when you're sitting right next to them and have to wait a long time. Really, do something about those prices and give better guidance to staff who aren't trying. They're there to work, not to have more fun than the guests, and when we left, we saw and heard that many people felt the same way.

Water is free if you pour it yourself from a container; if you order a 0.75l bottle, you pay €7.25. It's quite expensive for what they offer in return.

Not recommended. Overpriced, small portions, poor service (no one came to take our order). And then, when ordering online, you have to use online banking, with a password and online PIN, etc. No bank card. Never again.

We went there for lunch after visiting the museum. There were few food options, but we ordered the tapas board and green salad online. The dishes took ages to arrive, but the good thing was that they didn't charge you €6 for a bottle of tap water; you could get it from a dispenser. The food was very, very good and filling; it's truly worth it.

Surprisingly good food as a museum caffe. The smoked chicken was super tasty. Also enjoyed the iced pistachio latte. Food portion is not that big, but OK for a light lunch.

También sirve cerveza Heineken de barril para aquellos que prefieren algo más fuerte que el té o el café. Los productos locales se celebran plenamente. Apto para niños en su totalidad. El pedido se realiza escaneando un código QR (lamentablemente no tengo foto de ese código) y luego tu pedido se lleva a tu mesa. Realmente podrás apreciar el atrio que se agregó cuando se renovó este Rijksmuseum mientras estás sentado allí.

Very busy. And relatively expensive.

The feeling you get when you don't want to pay the full price and you have already paid.... Nothing was wrong with the food or the atmosphere, but the service managed to screw up the order after a waiter moved us to another table. We received the drinks fast and everything was fine. But the food never came. my wifes sisters food came and her drinks, but our food never came. After finishing the wine, we grabbed the service and asked when our food would come. She couldn't find it in the system and we got ignored!!! then later another waiter came with a recipt and found the missing food order. I paid to have a good glass of wine with my food. I did not pay for wine, then 20 minutes later the food. We didn't get the service I paid for.

Paramos a desayunar. Los dos tuvimos el desayuno RIJKS: pan de masa madre, queso Gouda, cruasanes, mermelada casera, mantequilla de granjero, huevo ‘en cocotte’, fruta de temporada y zumo de naranja. Pedí gluten, pan gratis en lugar de masa madre. Fue el mejor gluten - pan gratis que he probado! Todo estaba delicioso. El croissant era excepcional, mantecoso y escamoso!

Demasiadas pocas opciones de menú para el almuerzo! Un poco embarazoso debido a la fama mundial que tiene el museo. Me preguntaba qué dirían otros huéspedes y parecen encontrar las opciones demasiado pocas. Hicimos bromas preguntándonos cuántas horas se reunía un comité para decidir qué había en el menú. Dos páginas de bebidas y 5 artículos en una quinta de página para el almuerzo. Ve a ver. ¿O la dirección de museos como underfed snd sloshed visitantes? Casi todas las opciones son veganas o vegetarianas. No estoy contento con eso si solo hay dos opciones que incluyen carne y una es una ensalada. Incluso los artículos con el nombre de una carne en ellos no lo son, así que busca las hojas en los elementos del menú si quieres evitar vegano o vegetariano. No es una buena relación calidad-precio, pero los sándwiches de salchicha y el café con leche helado eran buenos, incluso si el pan no estaba relleno. El sabor del café con leche se olvidó, pero el chef trajo un pequeño tazón para que pudiéramos agregarlo nosotros mismos. En ese sentido, el café anima a los huéspedes a sentarse, ordenar y pagar en línea. Ya sea minimizando una experiencia gastronómica evitando el contacto con una camarera o compensando la escasez de personal, ¡no estoy seguro de cuál! Algunas camareras geniales, otras deficientes. Sentirse decepcionado.

perfectly ambient cafe in the middle of the rijksmuseum! despite having to wait to be seated, the line moved quickly. coffees were balanced & the green salad was so tasty!

I came two times. First time was smooth but second time ruined it all. I ordered but my drink never came. I was trying to get attention from a waiter (a bald middle-aged guy) to ask about my order. We even had firm eye contact, but he then just totally ignored me and ran off. Very rude and disrespectful. The waitresses are all nice though.

‘What a mess’, said people who walked out of the café when we went in. And boy, were they right. Ordering via QR, waiting 20 minutes for 2 drinks (soft drinks 4.50 ps) and grumpy staff who don’t care about anything. Shame on this beautiful museum.

Very expensive and lousy service, while it is teeming with staff. After waiting fifteen minutes for two drinks I tried to speak to the employee who showed us to the table. It was not easy because she pretends not to see you. When asked where the drinks are she says she will ask but then doesn't. In the end we walked to the bar and got it ourselves. We didn't take anything else because you pay 20 euros for 12 bitterballen! Really scandalous!

A café inside the museum with a modern and cozy atmosphere. The coffee options are delicious and the service is friendly.

Came up the lift with the pram And have been told to wait by one of the male waiter at the lift for someone to seat us and he ran off. Only to be ignored for 5minutes. Until we asked. Got seated and was very pressured to ask what we want, baby was fussing so had to feed and was waiting for two more to join us. Got drinks and then ordered food, Bitterballen and bread platter and it took 25mins. No cutleries was given and asked for some side plates and gave two instead of 4. I think this place needs some serious training with the FOH staff!!

It was great to be able to relax in the cafe. The staff was attentive and friendly. Everything we ate was delicious. It was much better than expected from a museum cafe.

The restaurant is conveniently located in the art museum and the staff is friendly. The cost is high and the food is average, but there is nothing to complain about in an art gallery. The only two shortcomings When serving drinks, the waiter spilled some juice but did not deal with it, leaving a juice mark on the table. There were small bugs on the food, but since it did not affect the meal, we did not inform the service staff separately. (On the cheese in the lower left corner of the picture.)

It had a great ambiance, staff were friendly. when it came to brownie it was so harsh and tasteless. Amsterdam schatje and caps of tea were fine.

It is a very busy café. There is a QR code on the table from which you order. You only meet the server with the server that she ordered. They were some vegetarian options and these were clearly marked on the menu. Taste was very good. There were plenty of non-alcoholic options. Services quick. Overall, a good place to stop by if you’re a vegetarian in Amsterdam visiting the Rijksmuseum.

We namen een broodje kaas (met heel wat groen) in het Café gelegen in het Atrium van het Rijksmuseum, lekker en heel verzorgd. Het zat redelijk vol maar toch heel vlotte bediening ook. Nog een tas verse gemberthee na, ook heel lekker.

No vengas aquí, puedes comer mucho mejor fuera de este lugar. Es caro para comida muy mala. Nada sabe fresco, no hay muchas comidas para elegir y dejan la comida bajo las luces mucho tiempo antes de que te la den. Tu comida se enfría. ¡Reconsidera antes de comer aquí!

Este café dentro del Rijksmuseum tiene un sobreprecio, un peculiar sistema de colas y una mala selección. Después de sentarse en la mesa larga en el medio donde se encuentra entre otros comiendo, un camarero muy agradable viene dos veces muy rápido para tomar el pedido sin embargo en ambas ocasiones aún no se había hecho una elección. Luego expliqué que usaré el café QR junto a la mesa para ordenar y pagar directamente.

Très pratique car se trouve dans le musée et permet de déjeuner avant ou après la visite de ce superbe musée. Les prix sont cependant un peu élevés. Personnel efficace mais pas très souriant.

The Groot cafe (not the fancy Rijks restaurant) in the Rijksmuseum lobby was a perfect stop to break our whole day visit at the museum. Food was more than standard museum items, carrots and salmon salad were both fresh and tasty, chicken soup and lentils soup are delicious, coffee and bakery are standard. The heart shaped cookie with Amsterdam 3X symbol was a neat touch. The bill came to €75 for three of us, a bit pricy but reasonable considering the nice ambiance and the convenience of the museum. I take away one star for service because the waitress was someone absentminded and told Me there was no croissant when I saw people at the next table eating it and more coming from the counter.

Funny waiters, this guy called “Mickey “ was very friendly and warm welcoming and the cafe had great food and drinks.

A perfect break in the heart of art. The café at the Rijksmuseum is a corner of elegance and tranquility, immersed in a refined atmosphere that perfectly matches the grandeur of the museum. We arrived and waited at the entrance to be greeted and seated. Then we waited for 35 minutes for a waiter to come to us. Obviously none of them bothered and so we made the decision to leave the place. I would like to point out that even though there were people, all the people who arrived after us were well served while we continued to wait. If you have time to waste I recommend, otherwise move on. Otherwise the setting is nice.

Pretentious and stuffy service...even though it's a snack bar in a magnificent museum, certainly, but a snack bar. Waitress pissed because the QR code of the tables does not work...waiting 25 minutes to order from the waiter who is dressed to the nines but who has not the slightest politeness. Given the prices (€10 for a mini sandwich), the coldness, the weather...we fled!

Had a fabulous lunch here - I had the oyster mushroom rendang curry and my husband had the beef special. Both dishes were 10/10 and reasonably priced for the quality. I’d definitely recommend coming here!

Before I entered the museum I had a Latte Macchiato. Beautifully served, a work of art! Into the museum and then back to the café, this time for a late lunch. You must taste the Rendang! Vegetarian and so very tasty with lots of extras. Other dishes also looked beautiful and delicious, so I have to go back to taste them again 😘 In addition to the Rendang, I had homemade limo, which tasted fantastic with the Rendang. Service was very good, helpful, good advice and despite the fact that it was busy, a lot of attention was paid to guests. In short, highly recommended!

Waited 10minutes in line, then got seated and waited 15 minutes for a waiter. Was rudely told to wait, again waited 5 more minutes, then left. Incompetent and rude. Not again

Was so surprised by how good our experience was! Speedy service with the QR code (free WiFi in the museum) and the most delicious food; restaurant quality with the miso & leek soup being excellent- we would say that this is the best museum cafe we’ve ever been to!

Friendly and delicious apple pie

I had a brilliant experience at the café!! I tried the Oyster mushroom rendang, and polished it off with a coconut lime macaroon - both were beautifully tasty, and the service was phenomenal. There was a super friendly blonde waitress there that gave me great tips on the museum as well, and looked after me even though I was by myself!

It was lunch time, good cheese rolls 👍🏻 Amsterdam CHEESE, ball and marinated onion, mustard, onion and cabbage sausage roll, and delicious soup, cheesecake. We found out that the museum wasn't crowded and we managed to eat something. I recommend it 🌏🌎🌍

It can be busy. The service is fine. When busy you will be placed at a large communal table. Personally, I experience this as less pleasant, as you may be seated next to an unknown guest. The dishes are of good quality, but on the pricey side.

Feel a bit ripped off. Specifically asked a server whether the pretzel came with a beer, or if there was just beer in the cheese dip, the menu isnt clear. She looked at me like it was a silly question and told me it came with a beer. When i questioned where my beer was, the (different) server told me there was beer in the dip, but I could buy one seperately.

This cafe is located on the mezzanine floor of the museum's entrance lobby. There are a lot of seats, and the seats overlooking the lobby are very nice. I was shown to a seat and was given a menu that told me I could order using a QR code. I tried reading the QR code, but my smartphone couldn't read it properly and it said ``The page doesn't exist.'' I did. In the end, I had someone come and take my order, but it wasn't until I was given the menu that I realized there was another QR code on the seat, and maybe I could have read it correctly if I had read that one. Logically speaking, I thought that would be the case, but I didn't try it. I got an apple tart with cream and had it with a cafe latte. The volume and taste are very good, and the interior is bright and open, so please take your time while viewing or taking a break after viewing.
