It's a below-average place. The live music is its only plus. The food is bad.

I had a fantastic experience at Cana IJburg. The restaurant's atmosphere is warm, cozy, and immediately inviting. The food was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service also deserves a compliment—the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome the entire evening. In short, a wonderful place to eat. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back!

What is a place that is really customer friendly and has a nice atmosphere to go out with your girlfriend or friends, a top place to drink and eat and a quiet neighborhood

Confusing menu. I had mezze and a Caesar salad that had nothing in common with the original Caesar. Orientally spiced chicken, peppers, olives, various salad varieties, and the dressing was also incomprehensible, but the price was okay for the portion size. Ezme for almost 10 euros was very little for that price, a small plate and 3 small pieces of bread with hummus, also only a small portion for almost 10 euros. We wanted to sit comfortably and enjoy our drinks, but unfortunately this ended abruptly because some loud performance made conversation impossible, and this was not desired anyway. Two tables left voluntarily and quickly, the neighboring table was asked to pay because the 6 women were apparently too loud.

It was just very stuffy there. They need to do something about that.

Menu changed since our last visit in May 2025. Totally different food and much more expensive. A Day of catch (fish) with a rice or friet is €30! Food was better before. We arrived tonight around 8:30 pm. It was cold already but they don’t let us sit inside. They said the weather is nice so everyone sits outside. They didn’t see the restaurants next to them all let customers sit inside! They said they will give us blankets. Six of us asked for 5 blankets and the blankets are dirty! We were freezing outside. The food got cold immediately. We didn’t order any drink or desserts we just wanna leave as soon as possible. I didn’t tip them in the end because I don’t understand why they insisted to do their business in this way. Forced us to sit in the cold and dark. And the new menu is a failure to us.

Nice lunch spot near the IJburg harbor. Had a delicious salad with prawns. Friendly service.

We were two each a menu and at the end we would get a dessert which was also in the menu. Didn't get it eventually after a long wait got up and paid and left. The service is bad except for that young girl

I had a very tasty little salad, which was more than enough. The bread and hummus were truly exceptional. I can recommend this place with a clear conscience.

We went to this restaurant for lunch. We ordered two pizzas which were very expensive for the quality, 12 euros each. Drinks at 3 euros (expensive). it seems like they want their money back quickly while they were closed during the pandemic. Ultimately I wanted to pay with a digital gift card and they didn't have a device that could read the barcode. Never again...

The food was okay. But beware: according to the internet you can pay here with the dinner gift voucher, but during checkout this turned out not to be possible. Employee acted as if he knew nothing, but according to the reviews this was also the case two years ago.

First dinner in Amsterdam and not disappointed. Delicious steak platter; nice presentation and great drinks. Wish I had come with a crowd to share tapas which looked delicious. Nice view despite the rain.

I sent two emails with the same question, but they were not answered. The price of about 10 euros per tapa is okay, but then you get quite little (small bowls). The Baklava was supposed to come with vanilla ice cream, we only got a dollop of whipped cream. I was lying in bed and spontaneously got belching, with quite a bit of nausea, I hope the food we ate was still good... The girl serving was very friendly and hospitable. The view over the harbor is quite nice.

The food was very tasty, just like last time. The wine too, by the way. Prices weren't too bad for me. However, service, for that they can still take a course. You would think that people would come and ask you if you would like something to drink during dinner, just like after clearing the table. No question whether we want a card, coffee or desert. We waited another 20 minutes to see if contact could still be made, but alas. We went home for coffee.

was here during lunch. waited for the order to be picked up for around 15-20 minutes. then waited for my cocktail for another 15 minute, the cocktail wad terrible by the way, felt like there was almost no rum. the food was meh and I saw multiple people leaving because it was taking too long for the order to be picked up.

Called today at 12.45 and made a reservation for tonight for 3 people. But still they didn't record our reservation and there was no room left!!! Very bad! We were just sent away!

Omdat onze toprestaurant Merza in IJburg vol was kwamen we in de buurt bij Cana terecht spijt dat we hier zijn komen eten , bediening was chaotisch, J krijgt geen broodje vooraf met sauzen , kreeg je brood was het droog , eten was slecht en bij de menu moest je friet €2,50 apart afrekenen ??? En te duur voor 2 spiesen adana. En klein beetje sla moest ik €24 betalen ? Mijn advies niet hier gaan eten maar bij Merza !!!

Vreselijk slechte service en bediening. Niemand kwam met een menukaart of vroeg wat we wilde drinken. Nadat we de menukaart kregen kwam wel het eten redelijk vlot. Eten was zeer matig en veelte duur. Er was ook een live band die niet aan te horen was zo luid, gelukkig gingen ze na 1 nummer al pauzeren. Kom hier nooit meer terug zonde van de 65 euro die het echt niet waard was..

Precioso lugar para el almuerzo justo al lado del puerto o el puerto deportivo. Amplia gama de comida y bebidas y todo lo intentado fue excelente - ver imagen de platos vacíos! Fácil paseo desde 26 tranvía que sale de la estación de Centraal regularmente. Bien vale la pena un viaje para una buena comida y un excelente servicio en una ubicación estupenda.

Alles was PERFECT en daarom geef ik dit restaurant een welverdiende 10 op 10. Ik kan CANÂ IJBURG in Amsterdam ten zeerste aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een geweldige eetervaring. Ik zal zeker terugkomen!

Had a birthday party on a busy Saturday evening and had great service. Employees thought along with everything, such as hiding music for the birthday boy or girl, etc. Truly a restaurant that gives you a holiday and beach feeling on the terrace👌👌 The food was delicious, delicious tapas and then the main course, all on time and nice and hot. Definitely recommended to everyone, we will definitely go back more often👍👍

It was the worst event I ever attended. We spent an evening with the elders on a terrible boat under the name of raki night. It is definitely not an event to attend. We paid 95 euros and they gave us things not even worth 20 euros per person.

If barstool or whatever has closed it's kitchen you can go here. Food is served straight out of hell considering the temperature it being brought to the table, Quality meh. If you have tits you'll be served better and faster than without. There was one polite waiter but I wouldn't recommend the place by any means.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. Lovely location. The greek salad was not fresh. Really a pity, was looking forward to eating out. How can you go wrong on a salad, all that is needed is fresh ingredients.

Delicious food for a reasonable price

We ordered fried shrimps which was delicious but the pad Thai noodles was not tasty, it was full of sauce and very salty.. I assumed that this will be a Thai specialty restaurant but obviously was wrong. The service was slow( they are understaffed)

There was nice live music, the service was Anel and nice and the meat, salad and flamkuchen that we ordered were very tasty, the price was not too bad and definitely worth it for the food. Finally the owner Mr. Can came to us who was very nice with whom we had a nice conversation

Went to Cana for breakfast last weekend. Nice employees, super sweet chef (I think his name is Georgie). I am vegan and asked him if it was possible to get a customized breakfast. The cook pulled out all the stops to serve a suitable vegan breakfast. And I have to say; this turned out very well! We had a delicious breakfast in a quiet environment. It is a bit pricey (25 euros per person), but worth it in my opinion. We will definitely come back!

From the moment we entered until we left, the close attention of the staff, the variety of food and the taste were very good. We stayed in Ijbug and it was our only choice to sit down to eat and have a drink while we were here. They have great live music on the weekends.

We, a group of friends had breakfast at Cana today. It was turkish breakfast. Very delicious. The place is cozy. The stuff is so friendly and welcoming. It offers halal food which was a nice surprise to us.

It was okay, The local was much too loud due to live music. Talks were not possible. We paid for four people 150,00 €.

Live music is performed every Friday and Saturday. The musicians are very good. There are many Turkish songs. Food and snacks are very good. Especially try the roasted meat and baked cheese mushrooms.

We were looking for a place to eat. It was a nice surprise, food quality is good and the quantity does not disapoint. Staff is quite nice and professional. Only downzise is the anoying 20cl drinks for an overprices 3.5 or 4 euros...

Such a nice, comfy and warm place! Really nice food! Extremely pleasant staff! Definitely recommend visiting! And the ambient is so lovely!

Onlangs bij cana wezen eten. Helaas ging er best wat mis. Ten eerste viel ons op dat het personeel zeer slecht Nederlands spreekt/ begrijpt, moest Engelstalig de bestelling doorgeven. Wilden een brood plankje bestellen als voorgerecht, dit kennen ze hier kennelijk niet. (Was wel mogelijk bij een ander gerecht). De verse jus d'orange kwam met ijsblokjes? Werd niet gevraagd of je een groot of klein glas wilde, werd standaard groot glas geserveerd. We bestelden een hamburger en een mixed grill, een van de borden was beschadigd, de hamburger was wat aan de flauwe kant en de mixed grill smaakte prima maar had toch wel een extra stukje vlees verwacht voor de prijs die gerekent wordt. Wat mij meeste irriteerde is dat het vrij rustig was en personeel meerde malen kwam vragen of alles in orde was en draalde een beetje om ons heen,wij voelde ons hierdoor niet op ons gemak. Toen mijn bord mixed grill leeg was en mijn partner nog aan het eten was werd mijn lege bord al weg gehaald van tafel, erg onbeschoft als je het mij vraagt. De kraan in het dames toilet hangt er los bij en de handdoekjes automaat zat met plakband aan de muur vast geplakt. We zijn niet langer gebleven, en na eten direct vertrokken.

El dueño encantador, muy atento y pendiente. El lugar tranquilo, junto a los canales, con sus barcos amarrados y el mar a escasos metros. El interior del local, sin más, con escenario, donde los fines de semana hay música en directo. La comida está buena, pero tienen que gustarte los sabores fuertes y especiados. Mi hijo y yo la disfrutamos, mi mujer y mi hija no tanto. Por ponerle un pero, decir que las raciones son algo escasas.

I have to say that the food was good but… we had to wait more than one hour to get 4 simple starters…. We were quite hungry and and waiters looked quite busy and did not pay attention. We complained about the waiting time and to be honest we expected some gesture from the restaurant…. After more than 1h10 min waiting for the food we finally get our 4 starters and to be honest we found the portions a bit small for the price. So overall, good food but desapointed about our experience.

Niet slecht op zich, maar erg veilig, weinig verfijnde of uitdagende smaken. Humus leek niet huisgemaakt bijvoorbeeld. Baba ghanoush hebben we laten staan, die smaakte niet lekker. Niet goedkoop voor wat je krijgt. Weigeren kraanwater te serveren. Serveersters snapte ons vaak niet. Ze hebben een cocktail op de kaart staan (dark & stormy) die ze niet kunnen maken (verkeerd bereid en zonder donkere rum).

Mooie locatie, super eigenaar heel Aardig en betrokken. Hier eerder tapas gegeten was heerlijk. Terras is mooi aan het water.

Sehr vielseitig und schmackhaft. Bester Flammkuchen in Amsterdam. Uns gefielen die Überraschungs-Tapas sehr gut. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt ebenso wie das Ambiente. Sehr freundlich. Gerne wieder.
