A warning... I ordered the chicken pasta with pesto sauce. My partner ordered the seafood pasta with red sauce. Our meals were served together, which was very thoughtful, but my pasta was almost completely cold. Not only was it cold, but the seasoning was also overly salty and oily. The chicken was also very dry. Food in Europe is expensive, and I normally don't waste food. But this one was completely uneatable. I don't recommend it!

Great restaurant, but unfortunately, there are a few issues that could easily be resolved: - There are bottles of water and glasses on the table. We didn't use them, and when the table is reset, the same glasses are used (you never know if the guests have touched them, which you should never do); - I asked for a glass of tap water with my coffee, which wasn't possible because they don't have tap water (which is obviously not true). This is a shame because the food is good (a bit on the expensive side and could use less salt and fat), and they shouldn't rely on selling expensive bottled water. The staff is excellent, but seemed a bit inexperienced.

The food was super salty (you can understand when the price for a bottle of water is 8euros) and not that good, service was okay. I don't recommend this establishment.

Restaurant Pompa Italian - Amsterdam South Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the staff. The red wine was good, and the food was excellent. The portions were a bit small, my pasta wasn't very warm, and Joeri found his pasta a bit too sweet. I found the pasta prices a bit high. The restaurant had a nice interior. I found the lighting a bit too bright, so it could have been dimmed more. The restaurant is a great place to grab a quick bite before heading to the Concertgebouw for Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony.

We just ate dinner here on a Monday evening. Staff were very sweet and attentive and food was very flavorful and well executed. We had fried calamari as an appetizer, which came out as huge rings and were very tender with crisp coating. My husband had the carbonara and I had the tagliatelle with truffles and mushrooms, and both had delicious sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. The atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming. We will definitely come back when we visit Amsterdam again.

The food was served cold. It's completely unprepared for people with gluten intolerance. The tables are far too close together.

Popped in for a quick beer at the end of the day and grabbed a window/bar stool seat. I had assumed this was a bar. As the beer arrived it became apparent this was very much a little restaurant, so we ordered food too. It felt quite busy but in a relaxed family business way. Had a great time, would recommend!!

We received a friendly welcome; even though five of us arrived, we were immediately made room. We all enjoyed the food. We'll definitely be back.

One of the best iplaces for a Italian food

The food was delicious, and the portions were excellent. There was a problem with our order, but it was resolved exceptionally well. You rarely experience such excellent service. We'll definitely eat here again the next time we're in Amsterdam.

This is my second visit to this place, and the first since the recent renovation. It's changed for the better. It's clean and has a great atmosphere. The service is still wonderful. The food is good.

Unsatisfactory value for money, too expensive for the quantity served. Dishes too salty. €30 for a sparse, not very filling plate of spaghetti carbonara with half a bottle of water! I don't recommend it...

The place is beautiful, but when we walked in, there were only two tables occupied. We sat down and stayed there for at least 15 minutes. The waitress ignored us and didn't even bring us a menu. We decided to get up and leave. When we passed the waitress, who was apparently doing nothing, she even looked at us with disdain.

Lovely little Italian restaurant with warm and friendly staff. Excellent service, lovely wine, and the best chicken Caesar salad I’ve had.

Used to be a place where I liked to stop by as they had amazing focaccia sandwiches. They told me they changed their sandwiches. I did not expect such a downgrade. Now it is just another overpriced sandwich shop in Amsterdam...

The waiter forgot a meal, which was then brought 10 minutes late. The food was extremely small and disgusting. Furthermore, the prices were rather high, which didn't reflect the quality.

Nothing to say about the taste but deplorable service, cold and effortless, quantity for sparrows and price worthy of 3 Michelin stars without relation to the quality and standing ... 118€ for two for fried calamari and ravioli al limone and a tiramisu and two mosco mulle and we're done .. 🤯 oh yes and the dishes all arrive together, never seen before .. ideal for having cold ravioli 😡

The place is close to the museums, so it's central. The Italian food is a bit adapted, good service, but quite expensive for what you get. The water and cream are 8 euros, a bit of a rip-off.

This joint is great in the neighborhood especially if you are looking for fresh pasta. Smaller portions so just be ready to order and share. The service was excellent. They have great outdoor seating as well

You'll find a water bottle on the table when you seat... Be careful it's a trap! It costs EIGHT euros and they don't tell u obviously. I don't say it should be complementary, but NOT SO OVERPRICED and left there to make you open one or even two bottles as the poor young guys next to me did :/

Very nice location with a cute balcony. Food looks good but doesn’t taste good; it’s greasy and left this weird bad taste in my mouth for the whole night; both me and my partner have stomach issue now :(. The worst part was we and another table with a dutch family were sitting on the balcony, the lady waitress was so enthusiastically servicing the Dutch family with manner and smile while she dumped my food in front of me heavily without even look at me. I am not sure if it’s because I am an Asian but I didn’t feel welcomed there and wasn’t treated equally. When she bought us the cheese, it heavily knocked on my plate with a huge sound and she didn’t say a word instead she turned around to take care of the neighbors table. As a paying customer, I am offended by the attitude and will not recommend this place.

Overpriced and incredibly expensive for how little and low quality food you’re getting. Six tiny rings of mediocre calamari for 14 euros. First place we’ve been to that doesn’t have tap water, only bottled. Won’t be coming here again.

tl;dr Horrible food for a very high price. Asked for water and they said they don’t have tap water, just bottled water. This should have been my cue to leave but I stayed. I ordered calamari and got 6 rings for 14 Euros. Over 2 Euros per small ring of calamari. It wasn’t even good. It was oily and tasteless. Then I got spaghetti with bolognese sauce which was mediocre spaghetti with what tasted like canned bolognese. There was no beef in it and the tomato in it tasted cheap. Nobody checked on us at all during the whole thing and we had to go in and ask for the check. And in the end they had the audacity to have a tip option. Never had a restaurant in Amsterdam ask me for tips, especially one with zero service and horrible expensive food.

We came to this restaurant on our first trip to Amsterdam as a couple about two years ago and fell in love with the place. We ate there several times. We returned to it today on another trip to the city, but the kitchen closed just before we arrived and we didn't have time to taste and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. We will try again tomorrow on our last day in the city. Highly recommend. We enjoyed every moment.

Pleasantly surprised. Was in need of some comfort food and didn't expect much from a tourist location. Nice pasta and efficient service. There is a nice table in the back that leads to a inner garden, that is much nicer than the rest.

The pasta was fresh, and cooked to perfection. The service was a top notch, and the location is great - we stopped by after our day at Van Gogh Museum. Will go back everyday if I could.

This is a great Western restaurant near the Van Gogh Museum. I had a very delicious meal. It is a famous restaurant with paninis that go well with prosciutto and truffle, and cheese croquettes.

A restaurant in this price range should prioritize clear communication with customers and avoid approaches that come across as opportunistic.

Such a cool spot! The vibe was great and the food was delicious, we tried the carpaccio sandwich and some fries it was so good! There was a mix-up with our order and we ended up waiting for about an hour, but the staff was super kind about it. They apologized, treated us really well, and even offered the food on the house. We really appreciated that gesture. We left happy, though still curious about the bitterballen, guess we’ll have to come back for those! 😊

We were in the mood for pasta after some museums and this was the perfect spot!!! Both dishes were amazing (clean plate club)! Would have liked a bit larger wine selection. Patio was cute but crowded in. Overall very happy with our random pasta stop!!!

Bizarrely delicious pasta & good service from meintje!

Café y pastel a las 3 : 00 fue una buena manera de empezar. Está justo enfrente del Museo Stedelijk y estaba bastante lleno de gente por la tarde, pero el personal nos puso en un rincón para disfrutar de tiramisú y pastel de merengue de limón. Terminó volviendo para la cena - la cocina trata bien aperitivos fritos como calamares fritti y bola amarga, con poco aceite y excelente sabor. La ensalada Céser necesita un poco de retrabajo - el aderezo es bastante insípido faltan las anchoas, la yema de huevo, la sal y el músculo - poder, pero la ensalada de calabacín y aguacate está bien hecho. Los tagliatelle tartufo o con pesto, los espaguetis con EEVO y ajo y las vieiras se hacen correctamente, aunque algunos encontraron un poco de exceso de aceite en el fondo, pero los sabores están llenos. Vinos decentes incluyendo un primitivo muy jugoso al precio justo que iba bien con los platos más fuertes. Amsterdam es caro, pero este lugar ofrece valor, aunque el personal se distrae ocasionalmente. No tengas miedo de rebajarlos si necesitas otra bebida o más agua, pero no esperes que te enmienden el plato, no sucederá. También veo por otras reseñas, que algunos piensan que la botella de agua aficionada en cada mesa cuando te sientas es gratis. No estoy seguro de por qué alguien pensaría eso. Puede que alguna vez recibas un regalo (lo hicimos, pero eso fue en un viaje repetido) no esperes eso por adelantado. La ventaja - está cerca de los museos y justo debajo del Concertgebouw, lo que lo convierte en una parada natural antes del concierto para la cena. No vengas después - tienden a terminar el negocio alrededor de las 9 : 00 pm, que es un poco más temprano tal vez que algunos otros restaurantes en el barrio.

We had the famous lemon ravioli, which was a shame it wasn't enough. They were delicious, but the quantity wasn't enough. The price was way too high... We were a little disappointed when the plate arrived on the table. Same for dessert; the cheesecake was delicious, but small. We left the restaurant still hungry...

Based on previous visits to Pompa we took friends to a restaurant that was new to them. We were welcomed in a very friendly manner even though we were half an hour early. When choosing a wine they gave good advice on a rose from Dutch marl soil. A bull's eye. But... the rum and coke as a prelude to the starter was forgotten. That can happen. The order was then taken with a smile. When the starters were brought, it turned out that the starter of one of us had been forgotten. After we had indicated this, his starter was prepared after all. In the meantime the place was filling up with guests. We noticed that they had received their order before we did. We were still waiting for our main course. After asking about this, our main courses were brought. When the manager/supervisor asked us if it tasted good, we shared our critical but constructive experiences and feelings. In the hope that Pompa will do something with it because that is what you want a catering entrepreneur to have. He took it positively and seriously and offered us a dessert on behalf of the business. It is not about the dessert but about the willingness to take this seriously. And Pompa did that. Will we come back? Yes, definitely, to see and experience whether something has indeed been done with our comments. Next time a little more Truffle in the truffle tagliatelle and more spice in the pasta Arrabiata then that would be great. Just like the Rose.

Somos italianos y de vacaciones desde California, viajamos desde Inglaterra (en mi opinión, no es buena comida), así que cuando llegamos a Amsterdam teníamos antojo de Pasta. Sabíamos que no sería tan bueno como el casero, pero fue sorprendentemente genial. Cena tuvimos sopa de tomate que llegó a nuestra mesa de temperatura caliente! ¡Buena sorpresa! Pedí salsa boloñesa que era diferente a lo que estoy acostumbrado, pero bueno y la pasta era delicioso y picante! Donde vivimos es raro que te entreguen comida caliente a la mesa. El servicio fue fantástico, y cuando leí más abajo en el menú tenía ensalada de atún Sal como entrada. ¡No había comido atún desde que comenzó nuestro viaje hace tres semanas! Volvimos por ensalada de atún en lechuga en lugar de pan y una vez más perfecto. Diez estrellas para el servicio al cliente, comida y gran ambiente!

Zeer arrogante bediening. Klant eindeloos laten wachten en wanneer die er iets over zegt, wordt deze zeer hooghartig benaderd. Tijdens het wachten het eten bekeken wat uitgeserveerd werd. Conclusie: veel te duur voor wat wordt geleverd. Bestelde drankje afgerekend en gegaan. Het commentaar van de bediening: „meneer, u ziet ik krijg de zaak toch wel vol“. Kortom, te mijden restaurant!

A restaurant located close to museums. It has a very diverse menu. You will definitely find something that will appeal to you. The tastes were normal, I didn't see anything extra. In fact, these tastes made me sad for these prices. The portions were also quite small for their price. There is an inside and outside area. There are 3 areas inside; downstairs, middle floor and upstairs. The service was generally good, there was free wifi. But you can find better places in this price range. Don't worry, if you couldn't get into any place, you won't leave here unhappy.

It was a great idea to get some extra bread and butter here with our breakfast. Bread was fresh and butter tasted awesome. Staff are really nice here as well.

owner was rather passive aggressive, restaurant was not even half full and it took several minutes to figure out where we were allowed to sit. service was slow and got our order wrong, why not write it down? pasta was mediocre at best, nice presentation though. in the end the bill was almost 110 euro for a "quick lunch" that should not cost more than 60 euro.

I rarely write reviews but couldn’t miss this one. The food was moderate, nothing special, nothing surprising. Just ok. The service…man I don’t know how this place even operates. There’re about two waitresses for the whole two storey restaurant + outdoor sitting (at least on Tuesdays) and they seem lovely but can’t make anything properly. Had to ask a few times for everything!!! The atmosphere is feeling really tense because of that because you just can’t relax. The overall ambiance of the place is okay as well as the interiors
