Great selection of local beers and very good food. The burger was a little greasy but tasty, and the meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. The salads and fries were also excellent.Service was the highlight of the visit. Special shoutout to the gentleman who seated us, brought our drinks, took our order, and seemingly handled everything himself. He did an outstanding job. Overall, a great experience.

The lobster is really delicious! The short ribs are super tasty too. The lobster was so good that I ordered it twice.

We had a great meal and there were screens showing football matches.

Menus were thrown on the table, service was horrible, our server did not know what drinks were on the menu plus she forgot half our order. The bartender was just screaming to her friends all night. You get better service at MCdonalds! Won’t be back.

The loud lively ambience is fine, but pay more attention to the customers. The service was really slow, one food item was forgotten and brought late, and a requested glass of wine never showed. Topped off with food that was average, this was not our best night in Amsterdam.

We crossed this meat specialist restaurant during our visit and chose it following our appetite. And that was for the best. The staff was dynamic and welcoming ( despite we stop in front of it 10min before the opening ) We really enjoy the meal even if the cooking for my friend burger wasn't asked this is a litlle detail but here it was perfect. I liked the glazed ribs I had and all the sides as well. There is great selection of wine. I'm definitely recommending this place for meat lovers.

We had such a wonderful experience here. The Spare Ribs were nothing like my husband had before. My meal of a crispy Chicken Burger and side of Grilled Asparagus was so delicious. The staff went over and beyond. Extremely friendly.

After years of trying all the branches, we keep coming back to Cannibale Royale Rozengracht. Of course, the food is fantastic, but what truly makes this location special is the staff. Always friendly, fun, personal, and genuine. You make every evening a party. For us, without a doubt, the best branch of them all!

My husband and I went on a date yesterday. He invited me to this restaurant. I'd like to share my impressions and experience. From the outside, it looks like a completely unremarkable restaurant with a typical restaurant sign. But once inside, I simply froze. The restaurant is very atmospheric and themed. As you can guess from the name, it's about those very same cannibals who ate people. The ceiling and walls are covered with creepy photographs and decorations in the form of antiques, saws, heads, and other paraphernalia that fit the restaurant's theme. The restaurant itself, despite the creepy decorations, is very cozy; you don't want to run away. On the contrary, it's like walking around in a museum, taking everything in. We went on a Wednesday, so it wasn't noisy or crowded. The menu they offered us also featured creepy photographs from the last century. The menu includes appetizers, salads, meat, and vegetarian dishes. There's also a wide selection of drinks to suit every taste. We ordered beer, a mixed meat platter for two, and a side of grilled vegetables for two. The service and staff were very attentive; our order arrived quickly, and they came by several times to check if everything was okay and if we needed anything else. The food was fantastic; we loved everything, and we ate it all! I remember it being mouth-watering! The dessert deserved special mention. We ordered a brownie with nuts and liquid chocolate with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The presentation itself was beautiful, and the taste was simply incredible. The combination of warm brownie and cold ice cream was simply gastronomic ecstasy. We had coffee with liqueur with dessert, which went perfectly with the dessert. The restrooms were clean, and the music in the dining room was pleasant and not too loud, allowing you to have a comfortable conversation without raising your voice and still hear everyone you were talking to. Overall, I was incredibly impressed with the restaurant, the delicious food and drinks, and the wonderful service and staff! I can rate our date here 10 out of 10. I recommend it to everyone!

I booked this dinner a week in advance for my birthday, and we even discussed the seating arrangement through messages beforehand because we were coming with a child and specifically wanted a quiet corner table. Unfortunately, despite this, we were seated directly next to a huge group of around 15 men who were shouting, swearing, and being extremely loud throughout the entire evening. It was impossible to relax, enjoy the dinner, or even have a normal conversation. What should have been a special and cozy birthday celebration turned into a very stressful experience. I am honestly very disappointed that our request was completely ignored, especially after discussing it in advance. A little more care and attention to guests’ wishes - especially for birthdays and families with children - would make a huge difference.

Robyne and Shana took excellent care of us. We had an outing with our football team, but even though things were a bit hectic and disorganized on our part, they helped us out tremendously and were very friendly. They should cherish employees like that!

It is always a pleasure to come here; this time we had lunch with 8 people. Everyone was more than satisfied. Thanks for the lovely lunch!

Overall, we had a nice evening. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I also liked the music selection, with hip-hop classics like Common and Tupac playing in the background. The food was good, but not perfect. The ribeye was slightly overcooked for my taste, and the chimichurri could have used a bit more acidity to make it fresher and more balanced. The broccoli was unfortunately quite dry. The only real downside was that we were seated in the back section of the restaurant, where the air felt very stuffy and uncomfortable after a while. All in all, a nice place with good service and a cool vibe, but the food and ventilation could be improved.

Tasty beers and delicious meat!

Stopped in for a dinner. The music was really good. I would say the steak i ordered was cooked perfectly and i loved the extras on the plate. Ordred the Mac and cheese and got mash potatoes/ Server rarely came to the table and was hard to get a drink and the bill.

Good steakhouse with fair prices. Unfortunately for about half of our table the medium ordered steaks have been cooked too long, the other half of the steaks have been perfect.

Very good food BUT we were in a group of 4, and 3 of them got the food and I got the food 15 minutes after, when everyone else had already finished eating. That’s not very nice. But the food was really good and the personnel very friendly

A very bad experience. We went here for dinner because we had something to celebrate with our youngest son. As the first guests, we had indicated this and asked if they could prepare a nice table for us. We had one drink in the sun outside, and upon entering, we were given an uninviting little table in the middle of the room. When we asked if we couldn't sit at the back, we were told that those tables were reserved for groups, which was clearly not the case. We then chose a spot to the side, but ended up sitting right in the draft. The hostess was visibly irritated and rude, and seemed determined to give us a terrible table. For a restaurant where wagyu steaks costing 99 euros are on the menu, surely you would expect a certain level of service. We paid for our drinks and left. Even the bar staff understood that we were getting up. We are never going here again.

Extremely loud and noisy place, can’t have a conversation in there. Expensive steaks - portions are very small. Side dishes are not included, must pay extra. The burger is ok, tasty. Draft beer is like water, no alcohol, poor quality. Not recommended. Better get yourself bottled beer.

Yesterday, we booked a table with our family on Rozengracht. It was indicated that all the good tables had been booked by groups. Since we had been left waiting by the most unfriendly hostess ever, it was cheekily pointed out that we had made the decision. Fortunately, the rest of the staff completely agreed with us! The surprise for my son turned into tears when we left without food!! What a disgrace, so pathetic!!!

A horrible experience after learning that this restaurant doesn’t care about us at all. Our food took over an hour to come out. We had to move tables twice. Once because the table next to us were extremely loud and disorderly guests that took bright flash photography right at our faces. The second time the waitress kicked us out of our table claiming they needed the space when the restaurant was not at capacity.

Total disappointment for attitude & service! Waited for almost 5 mins (no joke) at the entrance although staff clearly saw us plenty of times but not bothered to come and place us, finally got a table. Order taking came late, food was served way too late. We also asked for another rounds of drinks in between and waitress simply said she will be back in a minute, yet didn't appear for another 10 mins. Portions are exceptionally small for such prices. More importantly, customer-oriented mindset is not a considered aspect in here.

We arrived without a reservation, but the receptionist found us a seat; she was very polite and welcoming. The food was delicious, and the chicken was incredibly tender! We really enjoyed it; we had a great time. It had a beautiful interior and great music! In the last few years of living in another European country, this was the first time we had a great time at this Amsterdam restaurant! ❤️

The expirience was overall great. Although I recommend that you make a reservation, we got a table with no problem. The portions could be a bit bigger but the incredible taste makes up for it.

Very disappointing experience. The burger was extremely dry and almost tasteless. The vegetables felt undercooked and added no flavor at all. We asked to replace the burger with a steak, but the steak arrived after a very long wait and looked honestly terrible. It was not properly cooked, so we decided to cancel it altogether. The fries were another letdown — both too dry and too oily at the same time, which made them unpleasant to eat. The only thing that was somewhat okay was the mac & cheese, but unfortunately one decent item can’t save the overall experience. For the price and expectations, this was far below standard. I wouldn’t normally write a negative review, but this visit really missed the mark.

The opening hours are wrong on Sundays. There was no one there when we arrived at 12:15. Finally, someone came and told us they couldn't serve us because they had no one in the kitchen.

We dined here last week after making a reservation. You have to love the atmosphere inside. The music at the front of the restaurant is (too) loud, which isn't to everyone's taste. The music in the back was more subdued. The service was good, and the staff went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The food was good (at least for me). My wife had a piece of meat that had an excessive amount of fat on it. The side dishes (ordered separately) were also sufficient and good. It's a shame the meat dish was served on a wooden board. It doesn't seem very hygienic to me.

Visiting from the US, and I'd fly back over here just for the short rib. We got the sampler, with bread. The chicken was SO moist and flavorful, ribs fell apart like they should, pork belly was beautifully smoked, the aforementioned short rib was divine. The pickles were a standout- perfectly sweet & sour. Service was great, atmosphere welcoming & funky-cool. Highly recommend.

Let's not beat about the bush here, Cannibale Royale is just about the best meat restaurant in Amsterdam. You'd be very hard-pressed to find a constantly better one. My son and I have tried all of them through the years and they are each as good as the other. Their steaks are to die for. And service is always excellent and attentive.

My god was the food delicious!! Fresh and tasty, absolutely everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered the wings to start as well bitter balls. Our individual courses were the short ribs and the roasted chicken. Amazing amazing amazing. Highly recommend.

We came for a late lunch around 4 PM. Google Maps showed the restaurant as open, but when we arrived, we were told the kitchen was already closed and that we should come back later for dinner. The listed hours are misleading — they should update their schedule to reflect reality.

Love the decor and quality of meats here! It's one of few chains that allows for a bigger booking of 14+pp. Getting the whole chicken to share was great vauleal, very succulent.

I have been a customer for years to this place and the food was always amazing and worth of value - Service as well exceptional However, last 2 times i was surprised how bad the quality has changed . One time i had short ribs which was mostly bones and a lot of fat rather than meat. Second time i ordered the known and famous ribs which i always liked and they were delivered as it was boiled and almost not cooked Not sure if its worth trying again but petty such a good place to downgrade its known quality

The restaurant's decor is unusual, but that's understandable given the chain's name. The food is obviously delicious; the meat is high-quality and well-cooked. The service is very slow.

I tried to go to another restaurant nearby, but unfortunately, they were all full. However, the owner of that restaurant recommended I go to this Cannibale Royale location and I'm so glad I did! I was just recovering from a very bad bout of food poisoning and this was the first real meal I was going to have since getting sick. It was exactly what I was looking for. I had an amazing steak with a side of mashed potatoes. I sat at the bar and had wonderful service from Yuri. If I'm ever back in Amsterdam, I will definitely come back here!

At a colleague's recommendation, we ate at Cannibale Royale. It's a beautiful restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Plenty of choices for a delicious meal. We opted for the Argentinian steak and spare ribs. Delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.

We had another wonderful meal here last Saturday. Great service, delicious food, and lots of variety. We were served by a new host, but I recognized the old guard. We couldn't have wished for better. That's what makes a good restaurant visit so much better. There was a slight misunderstanding about an order of cauliflower bites instead of cauliflower steak, which was resolved very politely. I should have been more careful when communicating in English. I hope it didn't embarrass him. Because that would be a real shame for the business; he was head and shoulders above the rest, while the others are also very good. On to the next time.

Don't miss the pork belly side! I had the Classic burger or something, basic burger with bacon, cheddar, onions...spot on. With a side of sweet potato fries because why would you not do sweet potato fries instead of fries EVER. But the star a Was the 100grams of Pork Belly with bbq sauce, pickled red onions a huge sliced pickle. The pork belly was crispy, charred a bit and REALLY hit the spot. 10 outta 10 so glad I stopped in. Thanks guys!
