I could write a very long story about this, but you simply have to experience this place. Food - exquisite; we had the tournedos medium. Buttery tender and delicious flavor. Service - super friendly, fast, just really top-notch. Atmosphere - I don't want to leave. Decor - everything is perfect. My advice: you want to go here. Do make a reservation though, because with this kind of service and quality, it fills up fast. Highly recommended🙏🙏

We had reserved a table for 2 people by the window. We arrived 5 minutes early and saw that 2 people were just sitting down. The lady who took our reservation knew who we were immediately but started spinning a hopeless excuse/story... No apologies or offering a comparable alternative. A very bad experience richer!!

Review We dined here tonight. Unfortunately, our experience was mixed, with both positive and negative points. Let's start with the starters, as they were absolutely a highlight of the evening. The calamari and the tagliata, in particular, were very tasty and I would certainly recommend them. These dishes were flavorful and well prepared. Nothing but praise for the service as well. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. We were served pleasantly and looked after well. As far as we are concerned, they could have even sold us more drinks, because the service was certainly good. Unfortunately, there were also a few points that spoiled the evening. For instance, the ribeye was not cooked evenly throughout. On one side, the meat was a nice medium-rare, while another part was still truly raw. We found that a shame, especially for a dish where the preparation of the meat is so important. Additionally, two items on the menu turned out to be unavailable: the cassava root and the Milk & Cookies. This was not indicated beforehand. We were only informed of this at the moment we wanted to order these dishes. It would be nicer if this were indicated in advance when taking the order, so that you can take it into account. The vegetable of the month was also communicated to us incorrectly. We were told that it would be cauliflower with gratinated cheese, but ultimately we received green beans with chickpeas. That in itself is of course not necessarily a problem, but when something different is announced than what ultimately arrives at the table, it is confusing. Finally, the spare ribs were unfortunately quite dry, making this dish a bit disappointing as well. All in all, therefore, an evening with clear pros and cons. The starters were very good, and the calamari and tagliata in particular are highly recommended in our opinion. The staff certainly deserves a compliment for their friendly and attentive service as well. Unfortunately, a number of main courses and the communication regarding the availability of dishes and the vegetable of the month were disappointing. With a little more attention to the preparation of the meat, the spare ribs, and the communication with the guests, the experience could be much better in our opinion.

The food was delicious, there is nothing to complain about there. However, the long wait for both food and drinks was a disappointment for me. Although the food tasted delicious, the price was noticeable. In my opinion, you really pay top dollar for what you get. I ate just as delicious a piece of meat elsewhere for less. It was quite noisy and cramped inside the place.

This place is the best steak house in Europe. You walk in and greeted with a sense of home and smoke perfume hanging in the air...pure bliss and any man's happiness trigger. The meat is the best ive had in Europe, so tender and soft, cooked to perfection. Traveled 2 hours to get here and it was so worth it.

The food was fine, but the service was really substandard. It all took a very long time, and several of the waiters were really unhelpful.

We came for a dinner to Carnal. We ordered 2x steak (1 Rib Eye medium) and one Fillet. My steak was a bit chewy and the cut wasn’t the best. Half of the steak was tendon. As a side I had mashed potatoes which were dry and a bit hard, probably because they were baked in the oven with some Parmesan. The pepper sauce was good, but too “peppery”. I missed the variety of other added spices like salt or gravy-like texture. My girlfriend enjoyed her steak. However the fries were soft and not crispy at all. The service was friendly.

The restaurant is very atmospherically decorated; however, I didn't find the food great. It all tasted quite bland, and there was little for the price you pay. The service was friendly, but it was a real shame that a main course was brought considerably late. Nevertheless, it is definitely recommended for meat lovers.

Very customer-unfriendly Tried to make a reservation for a group. First, I had contact via email, in which they indicated that they were happy to welcome us. I gave a polite answer to their subsequent question regarding the budget: €40-€50 p.p. for just a starter and main course (so excluding drinks and dessert). This is a perfectly normal amount that matches the prices on their own menu just fine. Since then, there has been absolutely no response, not even to a reminder. Apparently, they only really enjoy welcoming you if the budget is €100 p.p. Incomprehensible and very unprofessional to treat customers like this.

On Sunday, June 21, 2026, we went out for dinner at Carnal in Maastricht for the first time. The atmosphere, the service, and the food were top-notch! We shared the BBQ Premium platter; it was more than enough, I can tell you. A tip: make a reservation, otherwise you might be out of luck 😜

Too expensive for a typical meal. A piece of meat in the middle of a plate, devoid of any side dish. Every request is charged: sauce, fries, salt, pepper, bread, oil, etc. I suggest they charge for the use of the chairs, the table, and why not, even the air we breathe. In this context, we advise against going to this kind of restaurant. You can only be well served by yourself and at home. Restaurants are no longer about food, but purely about money. Poor world, enslaved by hard cash.

This is the place to be for a delicious piece of grilled meat. Friendly service. The tuna is also fantastic. Reservations are recommended. In the summer, it is lovely to sit outside on the terrace.

The best steak I have had at a restaurant in Europe. I had the 400g ribeye with a glass of the tempranillo. The steak was about 4cm thick, cooked wonderfully to medium rare. For the price - perfection 👌 I had a steak the next night from a different place and it was perhaps 1/3 the size for the same price - if I am being generous.

We had great lunch at this restaurant. The meat was just delicious. Good value for money. The service was excellent and welcoming. When we visit Maastricht again we will visit again this restaurant that is for sure.

We spontaneously decided to go to this restaurant in Maastricht one evening. It was busy, but they still gave us a table. Despite mentioning that we were celebrating a birthday, they didn't take that into account. Which was a shame, but okay. Aside from the fact that it was incredibly loud due to the poor acoustics, the ambiance was alright. Suitable for a steakhouse. So we got a table, and the drinks arrived fairly quickly. We ordered three steaks, and considering how busy the place was, the steaks arrived relatively fast. Which, in my opinion, is always a somewhat good sign. We ordered three rib-eye steaks: two medium and one medium-rare. We also ordered two 300g steaks and one 400g steak. At first, we couldn't see any difference – but okay, never mind. The doneness was awful. The steaks were soggy on the outside and barely had any grill marks. The medium steaks were more rare than medium. The medium-rare steak was more boneless than anything else. All the steaks were cold. We also had fries that were already cold when they brought them to our table. The cut of meat was also questionable. I've seen and eaten many ribeye steaks, but this one felt like it had been ripped out of the steak. It wasn't steak-like at all and didn't have a nice marbling; instead, it had more fibers than usual. We asked for a second medium-rare steak, and this time it was hot and actually had a nice crust, just as it should be. The steaks at the surrounding tables were all raw, and I doubt that was the case for most people. Unfortunately, all in all, a bad dining experience and definitely not worth the money.

The steak was well prepared no problem there and the kids meal burger had three sauces, salad and some fries, everything a kid would eat. The pulled rib burger had a lot of saus meat that was sweet, I couldn’t finish it cause of the sweetness. Overall a good restaurant I would go again.

It was a nice restaurant. The quality of their food and the variety of their steaks was really high and good. I aslo liked their decorations. The chairs were comfortable one could enjoy having their food without any problem. The staff were very nice, kind and friendly. 😊😇 The only problem was when you go as a big group of people you can not pay separately. 😑

Had an amazing time here with my boyfriend at the bar. The food was delicious, very filling, and the vibes were excellent. We sat right in front of the kitchen and it was interesting watching everyone busily walk and work around us. I was given 2 free cocktails because an order was messed up because the customer changed their mind! I was definitely lucky ;) The owner, Aron, febe, and Maureno were really fun people to talk with despite how busy everything was, incredibly accommodating as well. I’m only wishing them the absolute best ❤️

Great bbq restaurant, good quality meats and good wine selection. There was an issue with my steak being undercooked but it was fixed quickly with no stress and an extra level of service was given to us. Our waiter Morano (sorry if i hot the name wrong) was very well informed and helped us choose a good wine tk match our food and fixed any issue very quickly on a busy service. The ribs were excellent and sauces delicious.

During a weekend trip with my husband, we came to Carnal for dinner. Our first impression was good. My husband chose the steak and I had the hamburger. The steak was a bit tough, and the hamburger had a slightly raw, tartare-like taste. The French fries, however, were very tasty. While we were still eating — I even had fries in my hand — a staff member started clearing our table and took away the mayonnaise. We were almost finished, but the attitude felt rushed, as if we were being pushed to leave. Unfortunately, this really ruined the overall experience.

We came with high expectations and were a bit disappointed. The food was not hot, everything got cold very fast. The taste was ok. As big fans of steak, having tried varous steak houses in the country, this was definitely not one of the best experiences. The service was good and the Tiramisu was great though.

So... I ordered some burger and some salad as there is nothing added to the burger. I got some appetizer- bread with olive oil and salt. Ok,like in Italy-nice thing and the bread was fresh.Point for this. And then... it came the main dish - the burger with some salad. Plus for not waiting long for the order. The meat was done properly and really crispy. Bun was good as well. However, the taste of the burger was a little bit dissapointing,quite flat one, not enough dressing, spices. Super tasty burger! Delicious wines and great service. We got some bread beforehand, which was also very tasty. Lots of choices of meat, sauces, and sides. You can customize everything if you like. The burger sounded the best to us. The dessert menu is very small, but we're not really into desserts.

We ordered two 300g beef fillets. After a long wait, we received a very fatty rib-eye. We complained, and the waiter took the wrong plates away. Annoying, but okay. After some time, our two beef fillets finally arrived. We were delighted—but it didn't last long. Definitely not medium! The waiter immediately recognized that both fillets were definitely cooked to the wrong degree (80% well-done!) and spoke with the manager, who gave us a 50% discount. Conclusion: Kitchen: 0 points Service: 4.5 points Management—because of the 50% discount—3 points So, I definitely won't be visiting this restaurant again.

I was trying to call the restaurant from 6pm to 8pm and had no answer. I came at 8:15pm and they told me the kitchen is close and they don’t accept new tables. There was like 6 table that was still eating !!!!

Had the barbeque share platter and it was amazing. I have dietary requirements which were met perfectly. Lovely meal. Moreno was serving us and he was very helpful and a gentlemen.

We entered the restaurant without a reservation. There were still a few tables that were clearly unoccupied. Nevertheless, the staff decided to place us in a secluded corner, away from the rest of the restaurant. The carpaccio was unfortunately very tasteless. We both ordered a medium-rare ribeye. It was brought to us well-done. When we raised this issue, we were told they would discuss it with the chef. The Pornstar Martini was brought to the table, and a significant portion of the glass spilled onto the table. We did eventually receive a new ribeye, this time without the sauce we ordered. Since we were sitting in the secluded corner and the staff didn't ask if everything was to our liking, we ate the ribeye raw. We recommend this.

We got a table for two quite quickly. The staff was friendly and the food arrived quickly. But unfortunately, that was the end of the service; after the plates were empty, it took a long time for the table to be cleared. But oh well, that can happen. Unfortunately, we then sat at the table for at least half an hour without drinks, waiting for service for another drink and possibly dessert. We got up and went to the cashier to pay and got a dessert at McDonald's.

We endeavour to track down a great place for steak wherever we roam and were obviously excited to try this place. We booked in advance and arrived on time to find no table ready. No biggie; in the meantime we were asked to take a seat by the bar where we were effectively ignored by whoever was meant to be working the bar, so what could have been a nothing event was somewhat of a poor introduction to the place. Seated about 10 minutes later it turns out that the meal, for the price, was underwhelming; The steak was barely seasoned, the chips were mediocre and the dessert they did have (out first choice being unavailable) didn't fare much better. Disappointed isn't the word.

The spare ribs were dry and tough, the portion was small, and the fries were hard. You only get spare ribs; nothing is included. You have to order them separately. My neighbors' meat wasn't prepared properly either. English-speaking service is common these days. Sorry, I was disappointed.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Steakhouse Carnal in Maastricht, and I must say: this is, without a doubt, the best piece of meat I've ever eaten. Under the guidance of manager Radu, we received very professional and friendly service, which only enhanced the overall experience.

Very mid overall, steak was good not amazing, service was nice not great, and the atmosphere was very loud. If you wanna have a few beers and steak with some friends this is the place. For a date, not.

I had a delicious meal and appreciated the glimpse into the kitchen, which completes the experience. The only downside was that the extractor fan wasn't working. It does create a lot of smoke... which is disappointing.

Started off with calamari, which was good. Then ordered 2 medium-rare stakes. One of them was more blue than rare. Other than that - food was good. Extremely poor service, I would say - no service at all. Food order was taken and then our table was left alone. Sitting with empty glasses for 20 mins and then going to the counter to pay, not what you expect at this place. I could clearly see place being understaffed on Saturday lunch time. Instead of spending a nice anniversary, left disappointed. Spent at max an hour, as it was a bad experience, the day was slightly ruined. Not coming back

It was really well filled, a decent portion, and everything tasted delicious! Definitely recommended! Only the side dishes are around €4 for a small salad and fries. But the service was friendly, the food was good 👍, definitely recommended!

I can recommend the burger. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly and gave our table plenty of attention (which, as other reviews have mentioned, wasn't the case before).

Chicken Burger is probably better from the friterie next door. Filet very thick and taste overall poor. Salad with rotten tomatoes.

Ordered a premium platter, chicken was dry, ribs were okay, lots of fat, T-bone steak was okay. Chaotic service, and the interior needs replacing.

We ordered a tenderloin skewer and a tenderloin. Both arrived cold. The skewers were served with a few pieces of charcoal, which helped somewhat. We sent the steak back, and it arrived back after 5 minutes. For a steakhouse, this is not good enough.

Today I went for dinner with my girlfriend and my oldest daughter. We came for delicious spare ribs and opted for the 1kg ribs to share. I can describe the food in one word: DELICIOUS! Delicious flavor, perfectly cooked! The meat fell off the bone! Definitely a good portion for a good eater! I can say they have the best ribs in town! The service was very friendly and the food arrived incredibly quickly! P.S.: The caipirinha cocktail was also highly recommended!! Hats off to the service and kitchen! You've found some new fans! We'll definitely be back soon!

Overpriced and disappointing. Our Tomahawk and T-Bone were both overcooked despite ordering medium. No sauce served at first, no one asked – when it finally came, it was cold, store-bought BBQ. Potato sauce also cheap and ready-made. Tomahawk re-cooked but still nowhere near worth the price. Poor value, would not recommend. ---

Do yourself a favour and try this when in need of a delicious protein boost. I usually don’t write reviews but I enjoyed every minute in this restaurant! We were a party of 4 and got 3x the antricote and 1x the spare ribs. Everything was cooked great, arrived decently quickly and the waiter was more than nice, trying to accommodate our requests even with a rush evening hour going on and a full restaurant. Will be coming again with great pleasure!
