Food was decent to good, so you could eat here for a fair price, BUT the personal and the atmosphere will creep you out. We were being stared at and stressed out. Also music was way too loud Would not recommend.

I so wanted to like this place, but I don't think their strength is tapas. The 'Argentine' empanadas were made with bread dough, too thick, no crumble, true Argentine empanadas are flacky, this was fried bread. The cheese crockets, although relatively tasty, were really not filled with cheese. The manchego and the iberico ham was great, but that's only slicing.

You won’t find great food, basic recipes with barely the flavour profiles you would get from a proper Spanish place

Just had a fantastic fillet steak. Really high quality meat, cooked rear and to perfection. Staff were very friendly and I personally loved their choice of music.

The atmosphere was really cool. Ezequiel, the guy who served us, was very nice and patient.

Love this place for Tapas and drinks. Gabriel is super friendly and accommodating. Our favorite server in Amsterdam. The olives are great and the jamon iberico is melt in your mouth good. Had it twice. Shrimp was also delicious. Cant wait to try a steak next. Definitely recommend. Will return.

Best café in Amsterdam center the staff are super nice

My husband and I stopped in here for an early dinner while on a trip from the US. We were met with wonderful hospitality when we sat down. I ordered the Salmón a la Parilla, him the Tango Plato, both from the Platos Completos portion of the menu. We’re both snobs respectively of salmon and steak and completely LOVED our meals. I wish I had taken pictures to share them. He said the steaks were just a bit overdone but the flavor outweighed it to where that didn’t matter. The salmon was flaky and buttery with a wonderful chimichurri on top. I would definitely recommend!

We randomly walked into the restaurant and were very pleased. We were immediately greeted, welcomed and sat down. The service was excellent and the food was great. We’d highly recommend it.

Really comfortable hispanic restaurant. The staff was authentic hispanic and the food was really good. I can recommend the Paella and selfmade sangria. At this combo you will spend about 25,00 € per Person for a great service kind staff and good food.

The first clue make me run away from this “Spanish” restaurant … Entradas ????? ENTRANTES!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This happens in 2025… They don’t even care to write properly Spanish and all the menu it’s from South America… though in Europe they knew the difference between America and Europe but looks like they not…. Hahahah

The meat was good. Unfortunately, the experience was negative. Ultimately, we were disappointed with the service and the staff: they asked us to pay one price first, then another. So, we paid the indicated amount, and then, as we left, they asked our friend to pay €50 more (the bill had already been paid). We asked for an explanation, but realized they were pulling our leg, so we left; the situation wasn't pleasant! Not recommended!

Heel vriendelijke bediening. Tapas en wijn besteld, niet heel verrassend, maar gewoon in orde. Ligt aan de looproute naar het Rembrandtplein, dus leuk terras als je mensen wil kijken.

Can’t rate this place highly enough! We ordered the empanada and tortilla espsnol for starter followed by the parillada mixta for 2. We also ordered Sangria. Everything from start to finish was AMAZING. Service was so friendly and attentive. We booked a table but you could easily walk in as well. Definitely recommend.

For German tourists, unfortunately a scam... The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is great, but the prices are unfortunately far too high and the portions far too small. The meat could easily be made at home. The salad is a tiny dollop, like a teaspoon. So, in any case, there are better restaurants in Amsterdam. Not recommended! Steak €22

We had delicious tapas here. The dishes are tasty but too salty for my taste. The service has a heart for his work and is very attentive. A nice cosy restaurant to visit again.

This was a random drop in. The service was excellent from the moment we walked towards the door. The menu is solid. We had the salmon and chicken. Excellent. Give it a go.

The atmosphere and staff are very nice, the waiter at the door speaks many languages ​​and very well, but the mahou was a liquid remotely similar to beer, and the prices were exaggerated.

My husband and I are staying at the NH across the street and this was a perfect walk. What a cozy place! We walked in and got the little corner table. The keeper took care of us and was so friendly and welcoming. The drinks were tasty (margaritas) and the variety of the menu was nice. The garlic mushrooms and garlic shrimp were phenomenal. Also liked the Cheese croquettes. And the star of the show was the 450g steak my husband got that he loved. If it wasnt late in the evening we probably would have stayed longer for more drinks and dessert. Such a great spot.

To have a chill drink after smoking

It's a pretty small place on a very lively street, but the fajita was amazing, the server was soso nice and it was all and all just great. we really loved it and would and will recommend!

The food was great! We had tomato soup and empanandas as starters and the fajitas for 2 as main courses. Absolutely great!! The service was also very friendly and helpful and the food came quickly. I would recommend it to everyone🤩

We were looking for a tapas restaurant and found this place randomly on maps. We had some Chorizo and onion rings as starters and ordered the Fachita Mix for two. The food was seasoned just right and was served quickly and hot. The waiters were really friendly too. We had an overall great dinner and would highly recommend going here for something nice to eat.

Food not great at all. The garlic bread was a sliced baguette with garlic 'something' (margarine) separate. Cheese croquettes were blue cheese? Not stated. Tomato bread tasted odd as did the chicken in tomato sauce. Everything was tepid. Owner very nice and friendly but would NOT recommend the food sadly.

Ok first off for tapas the prices are immaculate. I was able to eat 6 plates, 2 glasses of wine for €50. The service was great but the best part was the food. I honestly recommend this place for anyone in the area. I will be back next time I visit Amsterdam.

A good find for Spanish cuisine, that we went there 3 times for dinner. The steaks (ex: T-Bone) in particular reminded of the taste of the old steak house Pinnacle Peak in San Diego (Santee). Obviously not of the same sizes, but the taste was there.

We arrived in Amsterdam late in the day from Brussels and this place was recommended by the front desk at Banks Mansion. Great food and service. Gabriel attended to our every need. We ordered from the tapas menu, and each dish was delicious. Highly recommend it.

The service is amazing, highlighted by Luca, who introduced himself speaking Italian and made us feel incredibly welcome from the start. The tapas were delightful – the tortilla de patatas was perfectly cooked, the shrimp with garlic 🍤 was bursting with flavor, and the rice and cheese potatoes 🥔 were simply delicious. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of authentic Spanish flavors. The combination of excellent food and outstanding service makes Castillo a must-visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for an unforgettable experience!

Walked in randomly just for a bite and to relax for a bit. Staff was super friendly and able to speak allot of different languages, with me they spoke spanish, English and dutch. Food was amazing only had tapas since I wasn’t too hungry. I had the cheese croquettes and garlic shrimps and their sangria. All in all paid 20 euros. Which is a bit on the pricey side for two small tapas but considering the location it was definitely expected. The best part of this place is by far the ambiance such a lovely, chill place.

I don't recommend going, tapas are bad, small and very expensive. They tried to cheat us on the price of beer
