Lovely place! In general, the service was very kind with us and we had a nice dinner (a good variety of food and plenty of vegetarian options.) But to be honest, the restaurant doesn't feel 100% Spanish, is more like an imitation of Spanish cuisine than a truly Spanish one. Still good and tasty but not authentic.

We've been here several times now, and every time it's been a wonderful experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious, and you immediately feel right at home. In fact, everything you can order is simply delicious. Absolutely recommended!

Having an unplanned dinner on a drizzly Monday in Amsterdam is no easy feat. The staff creatively found us a spot at the bar. The staff is excellent, cheerful, and attentive. The location is atmospheric and informal, but the food is actually secondary. The paella and beef cheek were standouts; the albondigas were nothing special. It wasn't our first time, and certainly not our last.

We'd eaten on the terrace before in the summer, and it was fantastic. Last night, seven of us went inside for my eldest son's birthday. What a cozy place! A wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. And delicious food: we tried almost all the tapas, and it was truly delicious. And then there's the attentive and friendly service. They create a homey atmosphere that makes you feel truly welcome. And of course, it was lovely that everyone started singing when the music started playing "Happy Birthday" and the dessert with sparklers arrived. You'll definitely want to come back here again. Oh yeah, and the limoncello was delicious too 😋

Despite being a busy weekend, we were seated promptly. The server was attentive and answered our questions. The food was spectacular and hit the spot. If I lived local, this would be a frequent haunt for me. Great mix of spicy and more sedate foods. Gluten free options. And potions big enough to share.

One of the most amazing restaurants in Amsterdam and a must visit. Staff go above and beyond with a more then exeptional service and the food and drinks are amazing. Higly recommend the amazing sangria’s for drinks. For food I would reccomend the squid and octopus. The food is fairly priced.

This is such a lovely, cozy, warm place with delicious food at a good price and truly wonderful service. Everyone—Zjelko, Kim, and their colleagues—is always so warm and friendly, and we always get a seat quickly, even when it's busy. i stopped in to grab a quick bite (admittedly in a rush, having forgotten to eat lunch and needing to be somewhere on the other side of town) without a reservation and the staff immediately and graciously accommodated me. ordered a beer, sauteed mushrooms, and a BBQ pollo skewer. the food was delicious and came out quickly. when it was time to leave, a server offered me a shot of limoncello! very very kind, i will return for a longer sit-down meal the next time i'm in amsterdam!

The staff always welcomes us with so much warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality that it feels like coming home every time. What a lovely place. Very warm, personal, and cozy. And then there's the food, which was absolutely delicious. And to top it all off, I went home with a recipe for a delicious dish. Absolutely fantastic!

Friendly staff. We went there without reservation but luckily we've got a table. Staff said we can stay 1.5h but they let us stay at the bar for drinks then they offer us when the table is available. There were a few birthday people. They play English birthday song for non Dutch and dutch version for Dutch!! Foods are fabulous as always.

Incredibly lovely people, had a wonderful time, great beers and gin selection. Low key and very youthful clientele, befitting the neighborhood.

26/11/25 We went back and it felt like coming home! We ate so many delicious gluten-free tapas again! After a comment from our previous visit, they even had a gluten-free dessert: a delicious almond cake. So thoughtful: that's what I call hospitality and caring! Once again: many thanks and hasta la proxima! 27/09/25 A warm welcome with a glass of Cava on the house to celebrate our wedding anniversary, very thoughtful. Afterward, we stuffed ourselves with all sorts of delicious tapas. There are many more delicious tapas on the menu, so we have to go back. That's no punishment, because everything was TOP!: including the super-friendly and fast service and the atmosphere. We even got two shots of limoncello on the house... where else do you experience that? Thanks to the M&T team for an unforgettable evening! Hasta la proxima.

We ate here last Saturday. Unfortunately, there was only room in the late afternoon, from 5 to 6:30 PM, but that didn't spoil the fun. We received a friendly welcome and were able to order right away, and it arrived fairly quickly. The service was also super friendly and fast. We'll definitely be back, even though the price did go up (we're big eaters :-D), but it was all delicious.

I was there for dinner, we ordered some tapas and then tiramisu. Omg the tiramisu was amazing and also were the tapas. Atmosphere top. And even tho we didn’t have reservation we were able to sit down.

We have Halloween dinner here and all the dishes are great with wonderful service! Highly recommend this place and we must come back again!

The early café days before this beautiful tapas restaurant also had a special vibe — and I’m so happy to say that after all these years, that same Mediterranean spirit is still alive here. This was my first time visiting Mamas & Tapas, and it truly felt like coming home. The owner continues to run it with the same passion, warmth, and attention to detail as always. The team is fantastic - welcoming, genuine. The food was excellent, every dish full of flavour and clearly made with care. It’s the atmosphere that makes this place special - effortless, vibrant, and authentic. A real gem.

I’m really struggling to understand how this place has such high rating. As I judged by the crowd, probably because of the Dutch clientele. The portions were tiny even for tapas and nothing tastes authentic. The patatas bravas were just fries with some sort of spicy mayo. A very mediocre to bad experience despite the hype. Service was good and the staff quite friendly.

My boyfriend and I booked a table here to celebrate an occasion but when we arrived, we were sat away from the full restaurant in a side room with no atmosphere and the manager essentially laughed at us. We had walked over 30 minutes to get here but he said we had to be sat in the side room because locals were prioritised. We decided to leave due to the rudeness of the manager and it tainted the rest of our evening.

What an enjoyable evening! The place was packed, but they squeezed us in at the bar. Not long after the table was ready. The food was simply amazing. My favourite was dates with cheese wrapped in ham. The food, the service, the atmosphere...what a beautiful little place. If I could, I would give ten stars. Next time when we are in Amsterdam we will be back for sure. Highly recommended!

I would definitely come back! The food was good, the sangria was delicious! Particularly liked the service. The waitress with long blond hair in a ponytail and long earrings was super friendly and attentive.

We wanted some small bites so came here. Ended up ordered 5 dishes, all delicious, as well as the mango dessert. Friendly staff, indoor/outdoor seating. Give it a try!

Haha what a fun and fabulous place. Stayed at Morgan and Mees so it seemed logical to have a local meal here. It was so much fun. The head waiter, owner and staff were beautiful and accommodating. Had a great table, but had the cheek to move a few times to make sure we were happy. Food and drink is bang average Spanish tapas but that is honestly not meant as a sleight or criticism. The whole thing was amazing and I would recommend it and go back in a heartbeat x

We discovered this fantastic eaterie a few years ago, and we return every time we revisit Amsterdam. By far, the friendliest restaurant we’ve tried in the city.
