The food, as always, was amazing! And it was such a unique experience to be able to eat good food while watching an amazing flamenco performance at such an intimate setting. I definitely recommend it!

Nice authentic tapas bar, super tasty food, affordable and great service!

Lovely place where we have been eating about 3 times a year for many years; all the tapas are excellent, especially the chicory with blue cheese, all the croquettes, the beef stew, and the ceviche, and all under ten euros. A few delicious wines just above €30 and very friendly tattooed muscle boys serving who seem to spend all their time in the gym. Alex from Cuba is a star. In the summer, it is lovely on the terrace at De Linden. Our favorite.

Amazing restaurant amazing foood!!!!

We had a terrible experience last night. A staff member behind the bar told us we could sit at a table in the back. Not long after, the "boss" (at least that's what he claimed to be) came shouting at us in broken Dutch asking who had given us that table. When we told him who it was, he simply said "no." He had a rambling story about a list and people waiting at the bar, but when he started banging on the table, we just got up. On the way out, he told another couple sitting at a table next to the bar that they could sit there, and told us that we could take the newly vacated table. But I don't want to sit in a restaurant where guests are treated so badly. It is a real shame, considering we used to come by regularly to eat and usually enjoyed ourselves, but after this experience, we will never return. We really wouldn't have minded moving, but when someone comes towards me shouting, contemptuously, and with a downright threatening attitude, I've had enough.

It was a great experience dining in Duende. Packed with patrons, lively yet homey. Excellent service. Food was amazing and we loved gambas and eggplant especially 😋

After coming to this bar every week for a few months now, I can say I'm incredibly grateful for the great service and the delicious food and drinks they offer! Bravo to all the waiters and waitresses who make my life more fun!

We went there for dinner on a Thursday evening with friends, without a reservation. The food was fantastic and the tapas portions were just right. But what we liked most was the cheerful atmosphere. A very mixed crowd where everyone quickly struck up a conversation with everyone else. The price was also reasonable. We would definitely come back anytime we're in Amsterdam.

I have eaten here several times and am always very positive about the food and the atmosphere. Delicious food and friendly staff. No matter how busy it is, the service remains top-notch!! The price-quality ratio is also great; you eat delicious food for a reasonable price. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a good tapas restaurant :)!!

Highly recommended if you love Spanish cuisine. We ate here with a large group (11 people) and everyone was very satisfied with the food and the service. There is an extensive tapas menu and we tasted many different delicious dishes. The dishes arrived in stages, and that went just right. We didn't have to wait long for the food and drinks.

It's so difficult to find a good Spanish restaurant in the Netherlands. This is the place for you if you're looking for a place where you can eat like you're at home.

A Spanish bar right in the heart of Amsterdam that's definitely worth a visit. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, and you can feel the authentic Spanish touch in both the music and the staff's service. We tried several tapas, and they were delicious, especially the toast and the croquettes. They also have a great selection of wines and beers. It's the perfect place to spend a pleasant time with friends or grab a drink after a day exploring the city. We'll definitely be back!

They were attentive, kind, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. They made sure everything was perfect and created such a warm and friendly atmosphere at our table. I've been to this place twice and we love the vibe and the food. It's a pleasant atmosphere, and the tapas are delicious and generously portioned. It's good for small or large groups; last time there were eight of us, and we all enjoyed the place and the food, and we had a great time chatting happily.

Since moving to Amsterdam, Duende had been one of my favorite places. I went a couple of times a year and always got good quality food, great flavor, and friendly service. Last Friday, I went without a reservation for drinks and a bite to eat with friends. We sat outside (which I don't mind) but waited over 40 minutes for our food. Then a member of the staff told me that the food was in the kitchen waiting and no one had brought it. However, my bad review is due to the loss of the flavor that had made me want to come back: - Tomato bread: quite good, no complaints. Calamari: dry and, in my opinion, from a bag. Galician-style octopus (the disappointment of the night): it was my dish of choice every time I came, and I found two octopus skewers. The octopus was quite chewy.

I've eaten here probably 100 times with my family, and every time the food, service, and atmosphere are top-notch! Highly recommended.

Such a great place! Piece of Spain in Amsterdam. The flamenco shows are great. The setting is a really spanish and the dancers are fabulous. Food is really good and the personel is amazingly kind. I have been going there for more than 20 years and I dare say that it just get better and better. Thank you Duende!

The quality/price of the food is one of the best I found in Netherlands and the people working there is really nice and efficient (it's difficult to find it in Netherlands sometimes). We went to this place at the almost end of the shift/kitchen, but they were so gentle even with a busy night. The food is “calientita” and it feels like home. The staff was cheerful. One of the bests tapas of Amsterdam.

Probably, but very difficult to prove. We got a mild case of food poisoning. A few hours after dinner, my wife got diarrhea, and I did the next morning. Sardines and shrimp??????🙄

Worst restaurant and service ever…. Waitress took our order and made us wait 45 minutes only to tell us that she forgot to put our entire order through to the kitchen, after the kitchen closed! Don’t waste your time here and get quality food elsewhere.

Used to be a great Tapas place - but not anymore. Yesterday it took over an hour to get drinks, the waiter forgot half our order multiple times. The food also went down in quality with half cold albóndigas and the absolutely tiniest portion of patatas bravas I have ever seen.

Overall dining at Duende is an amazing experience - the staff is great and the foods even better. I went here twice during my stay in Amsterdam and can say everything I tried was amazing. The dates with bacon, ceviche, and ropa vieja were definitely my favorites but everything from the boquerones to queso frito was top tier. And to top it all off I’d definitely recommend their orange dessert. The restaurant also has some solid sherrys the house sangria is worth a try, or if you just want a glass of white the wine list pairs very well with their menu. And of course, the staff is very attentive and helpful. If you’re in Amsterdam and looking for some flavors of Spain I can’t recommend Duende Tapas Bar enough
