there was a literal mouse inside the restaurant. the servers took a long time to come up to us and didnt offer a place to sit, forgot to bring us water, even though we asked, although it was busy so understandable. the food was average, pasta was sticked together. chicken milanese was dry. non alcoholic drink was 9.50€.. too loud, you have to yell to hear each other.

Food was great but when it comes to service - we had to wait for the menu to be given to us for at least 10 minutes. We came to the restaurant at 5pm and the restaurant was completely empty, after that it started being more filled by also couples or people who came in just with the 2 of them and we were all being placed in the tight tables in the entrance right next to each other while the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. What that meant in reality was that I couldn’t hear my own thoughts because there were people on my right or left. I don’t want to complain specifically about that because I realise this would also be the case if the restaurant was full… but the restaurant was completely empty and the servers and waiters were standing around the pizza making guy and having a chat all the time. The girls next to us (there were two of them) ordered 1 pizza and 1 pasta and it seems they forgot about the pasta because it just did not arrive up until finally the girl managed to ask a waiter (who was again busy talking with the others, on the other side of the restaurant) whether her food was going to come. The pizza of the other girl was completely cold when the pasta arrived. In general, the food was amazing but the service definitely requires an improvement. I’m really curious to know what the waiters do when the restaurant is actually full and not just 30% full…

The service was something that was hard to believe. The food was good. I could tell a long story about the waiter, how he acted unprofessionally in so many situations, but I don't have the energy to write them here. I won't go again, even though the food was good.

Absolute favorite Italian in Amsterdam! The food, cocktails, and vibes are always 1000/10

We had a delicious meal at Ceppi's tonight. We sat outside on the small terrace by the canal. Inside, it looks very atmospheric too. We had the burrata and the pizza Margherita with a focaccia bread roll on the side. It tasted really so good. The pesto with the burrata was absolutely divine. For dessert, we had the tiramisu. It was a nice, compact piece. Very rich, but so tasty. We will definitely come back again. The service was also super friendly.

The music was way too loud, making it impossible to have a conversation. The pizza was okay, but definitely not worth the price. The tiramisu was disappointing.

Cacio e Pepe is delicious, and I definitely want to try the pizza and meatballs next time.

The restaurant looks nice, but the overall experience was disappointing. Even though the place was almost empty, they seated us at a separate high table with bar-style chairs while regular tables were available, which honestly made no sense. As for the food: - Margherita pizza: 7/10 — decent, but very average. - Ravioli: 2/10 — extremely bland and had almost no flavor, which was surprising since the waitress recommended it as one of their best dishes. - Parmesan potatoes: 6/10 — nothing special and below expectations. The service was also just average. Overall, I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

Went here couple days ago and I'm so sad because I REALLY wanted to love this place :< especially because I brought my family and friends here and service this time wasn't worth the money, it was rude and slow on purpose. Customer service people has also bad days, but this ruined our vibe for the night. Food was okay.

The food was good and the restaurant is in a nice location by the canal. Hopefully the waiter was just having a bad day and this kind of service is not the norm at this place. Quite a mess and it felt like they were "taking revenge" on the customer for their own mistakes and the willingness to serve was zero.

We’ve been regular guests at this restaurant for three years, but our last two visits were seriously disappointing. For all that time, we’ve always smoked on the terrace without any issue. On our most recent visit, we did the same thing, sitting eating and smoking on the terrace for about three hours. Not one server came by during that time to mention it wasn’t allowed. Then, as we were finishing our meal, a waitress suddenly approached, told us smoking wasn’t permitted, and picked up the ashtray, dumping the ashes on me and the other guests at the table. She didn’t apologize at all. My dress was ruined!! I was shocked, I’ve never experienced such rude service anywhere. On top of that, we had ordered the truffle pizza and were brought a completely different pizza. I’ve had the truffle pizza at this restaurant at least ten times, so I know exactly what it looks and tastes like. When we pointed out to the waitress that this wasn’t what we ordered, she insisted it was, she took the pizza away and brought back the same one, apparently expecting us to believe a bit of truffle oil drizzled on top would pass for the dish we know well. It clearly wasn’t the pizza we ordered. Very disappointing experience from a place we used to love.

Very poor service — absolutely not recommended The service was truly of a ridiculously poor standard. The staff seem to make up their own rules and act as if those rules actually exist. As a customer, you are not taken seriously at all, and the attitude towards customers is downright unfriendly. On top of that, the food was bad as well. All in all, a very disappointing experience. Poor service, poor attitude towards customers, and mediocre food. We certainly won't be coming back here and absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

We arrived and the staff didn't even greet us. Once we were seated, we had to ask for service instead of them providing it. The attitude towards us was also very poor; not even a hello and no automatic assistance! The food was also too greasy. NOT RECOMMENDED (poor staff attitude).

The pizza with pumpkin sauce was amazing, and the pasta with mussels was incredibly delicious – the ambiance was dimly lit and very nice… we were only seated by the pizza oven, which bothered us a little – the service didn't even acknowledge us at first – but the food was great, so we'd gladly come back.

Came without a reservation, stood by the door for 10 mins after they told us ‘we’ll try to get you seated at the bar’. Once we got seated we weren’t given menus and it took about 15 mins for drinks to come. Food was nice but not up to standard as it was €22 for pasta pomodoro. Waiters were a bit dismissive and rude. Overall i’d come back if i booked a reservation in hopes that i’d have a better, more fulfilling experience. It didn’t live up to the €81 bill.

We had a meal around 9:20 on August 3rd. I asked three different servers for tissues, but they all ignored me. I finally got them after asking the female server in charge of the outside table five more times. I'm not exaggerating; I said it five times. She wasn't even that busy, and she actually knew it herself. She made eye contact with me, said "Ah, tissues," and ignored me again. Haha. To make matters worse, the standard table setting includes plates and napkins, but they only gave us plates, and we had to beg like crazy to get tissues. ㅠㅠ Seriously, the only thing we asked for throughout the entire meal was tissues. I was enjoying my trip, but I ended up leaving after just having a power struggle with the restaurant staff... Tsk. 😵‍💫 Is this racism? Heh. There are a lot of reviews saying they are unfriendly, but it seems the owner doesn't care. We had a very disappointing service experience. Our table was set with plates only, even though napkins are supposed to be included with the table setting. After we sat down, I asked three different servers for napkins, and each one ignored the request. I wasn’t asking multiple times to be difficult—I simply never received them. Eventually, I had to ask the server working outside five more times before we finally got napkins. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, so it honestly felt like we were being ignored. One of the servers also seemed visibly annoyed whenever we asked for something. The food was fine, but the service was frustrating enough that it ruined the experience. Basic requests like providing napkins shouldn’t require asking so many times.

We had a reservation for dinner. We were greeted with rudeness as soon as we arrived. We waited longer than usual for the menu and then again before we could order. After ordering, we waited over an hour for our food. When we inquired, we were brushed off and told it would be right there. Other guests who arrived much later had their food before us. We understand that an order might be forgotten, and that's not a problem, but the extremely unfriendly attitude of the server was unacceptable. Our second bottle of water was also forgotten, and when we didn't leave a tip at the end, the server made an unwanted and unfriendly comment.

Thank you to Mare and Eva for their attentive, friendly and consistently efficient service. Each time we arrived, they recognised us immediately and greeted us with genuine warmth, making Ceppi’s feel truly welcoming. We’ve enjoyed both dinner and aperitivo here on several occasions, and every visit has been excellent. The polpette, tagliatelle alla bolognese, pizza Campagnola, focaccia e stracciatella were all outstanding. A special thank you to the Neapolitan team in the kitchen for their craft and consistency. The Primitivo from Puglia was, as always, superb. Dank jullie wel voor de geweldige gastvrijheid, elke keer opnieuw!

***Avoid this restaurant.*** Our meal came to €169.20 for four pizzas and a few drinks, but when we asked for an itemised receipt, we were told the printer had run out of paper. Conveniently, that meant we had no way of checking what we’d actually been charged for. After adding everything up afterwards, the total simply doesn’t make sense. Looking through other reviews, I discovered that the restaurant reportedly charges €3.50 per person for each bottle of tap water. If that’s what happened with our bill, it’s an outrageous charge and certainly wasn’t made clear to us before ordering. (If this is the case we got charged €28 for x2 tap water bottles) The biggest issue isn’t just the cost it’s the lack of transparency. If you’re charging customers, they should be able to see exactly what they’re are paying for. Being unable to provide an itemised receipt after taking nearly €170 is unacceptable. I’ve contacted the restaurant requesting an itemised bill and an explanation. Until they can justify the charges, I would strongly recommend eating elsewhere. ***Check your bill carefully before paying, question any unexpected charges, and don’t leave without an itemised receipt.***

Worst food, and the service is even worst then food. Save your money and avoid at all costs. There are so many better options then this place

The food is very average, not worth praising at all. The service is bad, and their attitude is even worse, especially the young male employees. The female employees are nice, though. Their system is mocking because they're Arab, and every time I ask about something, they say it's unavailable. Their system is a complete mess. 🤣

Very nice restaurant, not a large menu. But plenty to choose from. Vitello tonnato as a starter was very tasty, highly recommended. Pizza with pumpkin cream and gorgonzola was really delicious. Nice little terrace on the street, but very little traffic. Very friendly staff.

Everything was super. However it’s like they have a timeline you need to follow. The whole experience needed like 90 minutes from the order till you have the starter and main course.

The first time we visited, we were told its only by reservations only so we made a reservation for the next day. Visiting again the next day, we were welcomed by a waitress (missed her name), who gladly walked us to our table and gave us the menus. Shortly after, she took our orders and repeated twice that we ordered the pizzas without meat, so upto that moment all was well. When we realized it has been nearly 35 minutes since we ordered, we asked her about our order and she said it will be there in few minutes. Since our table was exactly facing the pizza oven, it was clear there was no order being prepared, so we asked again, but this time another waiter and the response we got suggested that it wasn’t punched hence not prepared yet (which was clear by that moment). To make this up, we had the manager drop by to apologize and the chef himself, so then the order was rushed to be served, and we finally got the pizzas 45 minutes after placing the order at first. In the end, the pizzas were really good, which made this up (to some extent) and not to mention the way the other staff handled the situation and the numerous apologies we got, except for the waitress that was actually assigned to our table and was taking care of us, which was a complete disappointment. In fact, even after food was served and payment was made, she had passed by our table several times, but never made an effort to apologize for her mistake, which was the reason for this hassle and frustration. Overall, if you are lucky enough to have another waiter attend your table, and manage to find a reservation that’s convenient, I would recommend dining at Ceppi’s.

The pizza is good, but the pasta is amazing!

The place was cramped and the tables were close together, the service wasn't very fast, we even had to wait to get the menu. We had made a last-minute reservation for our first day in Amsterdam. The pizzas were good, and the tiramisu wasn't the best tiramisu I've ever had, but it had a crisp texture and was delicious.

Had a wonderful meal here! The atmosphere is super cozy and stylish, and the staff are very friendly. We loved the pizza, and the tagliatelle alla bolognese was stunning, highly recommend it! Just keep an eye on the drink prices, as the water and beer were €5.00 each (check out my receipt photo for details). Still a great spot!

We had a delightful dinner at Ceppi’s without making a reservation. Their Ceppi’s pizza and tagliatelle al ragù are excellent choices for dinner. However, the tiramisu fell short of my expectations. Overall, it’s a great place in the city center to enjoy some pizza and pasta!

The food was good and most staff were friendly, but the blonde, balding waiter was incredibly racist and rude. We asked him for service, and he ignored us completely, ruining our entire night. Good food means nothing with this level of disrespect,never coming back.

We went there on a recommendation. We ordered medium-rare meat, but it arrived rare. Despite the restaurant being empty, our pasta, meat, and pizza were served really cold. We had planned to have dessert too, but changed our minds. I wouldn't recommend going there.

A while back we enjoyed the best carbonara here. Recently we tried it again and it was really bad. The thick egg sauce sitting on top was like a cloud of foam. You couldn’t see the pasta at all. I have no clue how it went from a 10/10 to a 1/10. We also had Burrata and Tiramisu. These were both amazing. But the main dish let us down big time, even more so knowing we had amazing carbonnara just a year or two back at the same place.

Recently my husband and I hosted our son’s rehearsal dinner at Ceppi’s in Amsterdam. We had an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, lively, and authentically Italian. The restaurant has a beautiful interior with a cozy yet energetic vibe that makes it perfect for our celebratory occasion. The management,including Laura, Friso and Niels were so helpful in planning the menu, set up of the room for 50 people and execution of the delicious meal! The food was outstanding — every dish tasted incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the pizza had an amazing crust, and the burrata appetizer was one of the best I’ve had. Portions were generous, and you can really tell the kitchen takes pride in the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails and wine selection were also excellent. What truly made the evening special was the attentive and friendly service. Even though the restaurant had other diners, the staff remained welcoming and professional throughout the night making us feel special. It’s easy to see why this place is so popular with both locals and visitors. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food in Amsterdam with great ambiance and delicious cuisine, Ceppi’s is definitely worth visiting. I’ll absolutely be back next time I’m in the city!

It makes no sense at to why one would ever give this spot less than a 5 star review. The food is moggs. Try the spicy rigatoni, the seasonal ravioli, and the pizza Diavola.

I’ve been wanting to go to this place for a long time. And I wasn’t disappointed, it was an amazing experience. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious and prepared with great care and attention to detail. The focaccia was the perfect balance of textures and flavors: impossibly airy and pillowy on the inside, with a deeply golden, shatteringly crisp crust on the outside. Every bite was saturated with fruity extra virgin olive oil and finished with a satisfying crunch of flaky sea salt. Oh, did I mention the burrata that comes with it? Yes- We also had the meatballs, as well as the seasonal ravioli and the spicy rigatoni pasta alla vodka. They are spicy but not too much. The service is outstanding. The staff attentive, friendly, and professional. Compliments to everyone working that night for such a blissful experience. I would truly recommend this place to anyone looking for high-quality Italian place in Amsterdam. And I will come back for sure✨

It was the worst experience service wise. We had reserved a table and we waited 30 minutes to sit down. After waiting no one would serve us at the table. I had to stand up a few times just to wave and tell the waiter to serve us. Horrible experience and the italian waiter was so rude to us that I cant imagine how they let that guy working there as a waiter. The food was very good but it deserves a one star for the horrible experience I endured there. I dont recommend anyone to go.. Only if they change their rude waiters and be more organized with the service. Horrible!

The focaccia and arancini starters were superb. We had the carbonara, rigatoni and ravioli and all were just right. Ceppi’s has great vibes - good tunes, right on the canal and lovely decor. The standout was the fig spritz!

An excellent experience and pizza staff were super smily and engaging, found me a seat in from of the pizza bar where I watched my pizza bring made. Had a nice chat with the pizza maker from Naples. The clam pasta actually tasted pretty good. However, I found small pieces of shell in a few mouthfuls, which was a bit disappointing because it put a damper on the meal. A bit expensive, quite a small portion, and the pasta bolognese wasn't quite perfect.

we booked a table on the terrace thinking there would be some heating (as terraces in winter usually have) but the heaters they have don't do much, i think they should highlight that on the website. one of the servers told us they wouls let us know if we could get in at any point, but it wasn't until dessert that we were able to. either way we sat down there to eat because we were starving and craving pizza. i had the ceppi's and my friend had the inverno pizza, both were really tasty, i especially found the ceppi's very different and good because it's pumpkin cream base, i had never tried a pizza with pumpkin base. for dessert. we tried the tiramisu, which is very big in portion imo so i recommend it for sharing, it's slightly different to a normal tiramisu, i think it had hazelnut or some other nuts, very tasty though. the drinks are also nice, a little expensive for the quantity served though

How can you not place a heater while sitting outside? This would be the only bad thing I would say about this restaurant. Aside from that the pizzas were incredible, best ones I had in a while!!! Pizza dough was my favorite part light and airy but had a little crunch, freshness of the ingredients shines through every bite. Dessert is creamy and soft, traditional tiramisu. All this done by Michele the chef (if I recall correctly) And cocktails were incredible! Such amazing staff at this place, veery friendly. Eva and the rest of the team took amazing care of us !!

Service was really great here and so was the food. The only slight downside was my friend ordered the spicy rigatoni alla vodka which was undercooked but everything else was great!!

I ate here yesterday and this was honestly the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. The crust was perfectly crunchy and the flavors were truly next level. So rich and well balanced, I’ve rarely experienced something like this, and I’ve eaten at many great Italian restaurants. The focaccia, the meatballs, and the tiramisu for dessert were all a 10/10. Everything was just spot on. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Not overly special, but perfect for a casual dinner. The service was friendly, the price quality ratio is great, and overall everything just felt right. In short, I 100% recommend this place. I will definitely be coming back. I’m still dreaming about that pizza.🍕🥹

We had lunch, but unfortunately the pizza oven was out of order, so we ordered pasta instead. It was very good quality and tasty, but the portion size needs improvement; we left still hungry. If we had been able to order more, we would have ordered appetizers. The chef came to apologize for the late service, which we appreciated. A bottle of tap water was charged at €5…

Consistency would be the right word. I think this is my third time here in the last couple of years and the food is always great. Authentic italian dishes, generous portions and great menu. You can’t go wrong with any choice. This is hands down one of the best italian restaurant in Amsterdam. BUT… I’ll always remember it for the bad service. How can it be this slow with just 5 tables at lunch? I am not talking about the kitchen: I think dishes are coming from the kitchen at a good pace. Issue is with the service, and it was a constant in all my visits here. Had to ask 3 times for the bill. Had to constantly catch their attention for anything. Service is slow if you don’t notice I finished my starter 15 minutes ago, therefore kitchen won’t start to prepare my pasta. Can’t imagine how it could be at dinner. Overall, seems like kitchen is working at 5* while service is not at the same level. Having said that… I’ll be back, for sure. It’s hard to find something this good. Hope you’ll fix the situation, then you’ll be in my top 3!

This restaurant is dedicated to authentic Italian cuisine, and their pizza dough, especially the one baked in a wood-fired oven, is exceptional. The wine is also delicious, so if you're unsure where to eat, this is the place to go!

The service was good and pretty fast. The food was amazing. Maybe try Ceppi’s pizza, I think it’s the best pizza we ever had. Everything was very tasty, starting from the side salad to the main course and they offer quite a selection of wines and food.

Excellent Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. We had pasta and it was absolutely delicious, made with high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is intimate and pleasant, perfect for a relaxing meal. A highly recommended spot!

Beautiful venue, with a really nice atmosphere. Food was delicious, especially the spicy vodka pasta. Prices are around 22-25 euros a pizza.

Cozy and romantic atmosphere. The service was fast and attentive. We asked for cocktails that weren't on the menu and they made them for us without any problems. The food was fantastic. Parmigiana was so tender and vitello tonnato was very good with delicious tuna foam. For mains, I had carbonara it was perfectly salted and very creamy. My friend gets the same pizza here three times and it never disappoints. Unfortunately, we were too full to try the desserts but we’ll definitely do it next time.

A huge surprise, really excellent quality. We had antipasti as a starter, followed by pizza, and dessert. Everything was excellent. It was also packed, so I don't think it's news, but I didn't expect it so close to all the tourist traps. Prices are a bit higher than usual, but the price was excellent. The only downside was that we were seated a bit close to the door, which isn't recommended at a popular restaurant (it's cold). Otherwise, belissima

This place is just great, if you want really good Pizza or Burrata then come here. We have been going to this restaurant since 2023 when we go up to Amsterdam. Lovely place, great seating, nice waiters, big pizza oven.. over all great atmosphere.

Went in, said we didnt have reservation but was 2 of us, they said thats okay, we have the bar and we asked if we could eat there they said yes. We were sat there for 10 minutes with no menu or service, the waitress was 5 feet away from us doing nothing just looking around. We eventually asked for a menu, waited another 10 minutes without service when the waitress wasnt doing anything so we got up and left

Very tasty food and excellent service (despite the crowds)

The food was delicious! The staff was quick. We sat in the back of the restaurant, but the atmosphere wasn't great. It was very sparsely decorated, unlike the bar at the front. Bright blue neon lights from the shop across the street were coming in, and the decor was incredibly sparse. Sitting in the back wasn't very inviting. I recommend they pay more attention to that, like using curtains or decorations to dim the light. It's best to sit in the front.

The food and the location are great, and the interior of the restaurant is also nice. The service is, however, maybe the worst I've experienced in Amsterdam. Our waiter had a horrible attitude; he was rude and obviously treated us very differently from the other guests at the restaurant. If you can't offer the same service to all guests, you shouldn't work as a waiter. The staff here need some serious training in service (as you can see in the multiple reviews stating the same). Even though the food was great, I'm leaving a 1-star review because the staff left A BAD taste in my mouth!!

The food was good and offered excellent value for money. The only downside was the waiter with a ponytail who was completely stiff and stiff after a few awkward lines, which made communication a bit choppy. Despite this, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was also good.

Nice restaurant in a well-kept neighborhood of Amsterdam. The dishes are tasty for 10/10, we ate an amazing carbonara cooked exactly as it should be. The Bresaola pizza is also very good, thin Neapolitan dough and nice ingredients. However, if you want quantity on your plate, the dishes are definitely not large. We paid 57€ for a pizza, a carbonara and 2 small glasses of beer.

We had a really great experience! Everything was delicious, from the starters and main courses to the desserts. We didn’t have to wait long for our food, and the staff made us feel well taken care of. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic experience at this Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious and clearly prepared with great care and quality ingredients. Parmigiana di melanzane with basil was truly excellent, full of flavor and perfectly balanced. The vitello tonnato was a real delight — the sauce was incredibly tasty, and the fried capers were an amazing touch that I absolutely loved. The meatballs were also very good, rich and comforting. The pizza dough deserves a special mention: incredibly soft and very thin at the same time, just perfect. You can really tell the difference when the dough is made properly. The service was excellent throughout the entire meal — attentive, friendly, and professional. Compliments to the whole staff for such a wonderful experience. I would truly recommend this place to anyone looking for high-quality Italian food in Amsterdam.

Solid Italian restaurant in our Amsterdam! Really good tasty wine list. Pizza dough is proper. Pasta tasty with gluten free option. ❤️ Service is very good, including the bartender who knows the bar better than most and with a great vibe 🤙🏽. Thank you guys! No reason to not come back. ❤️

The tastiest pasta😋😋😋 in Amsterdam.

We had the "Diavola" pizza, which was excellent! I don't think I've ever tasted one so good! We also tried the pasta carbonara, which was delicious. Don't be fooled by the small portion size; it will definitely satisfy you! I was a little less impressed with the tiramisu, which needed more sugar and coffee! The staff is friendly and welcoming! A great place to try if you're in the area!

Loved food very delicious, pizza was good also pasta love it! Atmosphere kind is good cozy with good service, just one thing the restaurant doesn't got Sign outside to show name or logo.
