Overall nice vibe, liked the foccacia with stracciatella but don't order the cacio e pepe.

We came here on Saturday 31st at 20:00. The guy that took our order was biting his nails while taking our order and forgot what we had ordered so he had to come back 4 times to ask again. We had to go inside to order drinks and ask for the menus cause he was distracted either on the phone or taking to some girls non stop…The food was okey, desserts were very good but the pasta had more oil that pasta itself.

Had dinner here last night and it was incredibly delicious. Especially the starters and especially the Parmigiana di Melanzane is incredibly delicious! Main courses were also good, but perhaps score a ⭐️ lower than the starters. Mainly students in the service, but they had the service well organized. The tables opposite the kitchen are just very small.

We had made a reservation in advance, but when we arrived on time, we still had to wait 10 minutes for our table to be prepared. The space was tight, the chairs were stools without backs, and the whole atmosphere was quite loud. The food came super quickly, and the pizzas were served on preheated plates (a plus point; unfortunately, this is too rare in many restaurants). However, the prices are very high, and even though it's Amsterdam and a tourist city, they're still not entirely justified. €19 for a Margherita pizza. Also, the non-alcoholic drinks aren't listed with prices on the menu. All in all, it was okay; we enjoyed the pizza, but we wouldn't go back.

Super beautiful location and great atmosphere! They have the best penne alla vodka there. I highly recommend it and would definitely go back. The staff was very friendly. It's a bit expensive and the portions are a bit small, but it's definitely worth a visit!

Great Food, Great Vibe, Great Service

Is it good, yes it is good, is it extremely good, no it is not extremely good, the starters seem like fine dining, the average appetizers are 16-17 Euros, the place is not cheap, go there knowing that.

Excellent meal in a beautiful setting. The service is young, dynamic, and friendly. The dishes are simply delicious. The produce is extra fresh, and you can tell. Special mention for the scallops, pea cream, cauliflower pickles, and bread crumble. A real treat! Bravo! You were a real favorite during our city trip with friends. Updated May 23, 2025 Having great memories of my two visits to Ceppi's, I was looking forward to returning. The food is always as good, but the service and atmosphere in the evening were disappointing. Let me explain: we had booked well in advance, yet we were seated at a small table a little in the path near the stairs leading to the restrooms, so there was a lot of traffic. One of my friends was so close to the table behind us that her neighbor's chair kept bumping into hers. We partially forgot our drink order. My other friend had to go back to the bar to get her drink. Since we didn't order a starter or an appetizer, the service seemed even slower, slower, slower (we arrived at 8:30 p.m. and were served around 9:45 p.m. for three pizzas). There's a clear difference in treatment between the female customers, whom the waiters/pizzaiolos are eager to flirt with, and the others. It's almost laughable. I really felt like I was at the Abercrombie of Italian cuisine. The music was deafening. Fortunately, the food is still just as delicious. Even if the tiramisu biscuit was almost nonexistent this time! In short, if, like me, eating in a nightclub atmosphere isn't your thing, I recommend avoiding Saturday nights and opting for lunch, preferably on a terrace (weather permitting)! It's much more pleasant, and you'll better appreciate the quality of the cuisine.

Since a response to our feedback/complaint via email has been pending for 1.5 months, I'll try again here. I'm not usually someone who quickly makes complaints, but I thought it was important to share my experience with you, especially since this was for a birthday. Upon arrival, our table was not ready yet, we had to wait 25 minutes in the entrance before we could be seated. This was a shame, especially since we were with a larger group (7) and we were placed in the middle of an aisle where people had to pass by all the time. The starters were delicious, but we had to wait 35 minutes before they were served. This was manageable because the food was delicious. Then we had to wait 45 minutes for the main courses that were lukewarm, and unfortunately one dish was missing. We quickly ate because we were very hungry after waiting (it was already 9:30 PM), this was a disappointment. We noticed that the service did not ask us if we wanted something to drink, which did not improve the overall picture. At the end of the meal, one of the employees with a blond buzzcut asked if everything was to our liking. When we indicated that it was a bit disappointing, they offered us desserts on the house, which was a nice gesture. However, when we asked for 6 desserts (for 7 people), we were told that this was not possible. The employee said, quote: “People often share desserts here and you didn’t finish everything either, so we’re not going to do that.” We found this a strange remark, because almost everyone had finished their plate, even though that has nothing to do with this. In the end, we decided not to have desserts, because the atmosphere was unfortunately no longer what we had hoped for. On the positive side, we were offered 4 starters for free, which I consider a nice compensation. Still, all in all it was a constant series of disappointments, especially considering the many times we have enjoyed eating with you before. I hope you can do something with this, because I had hoped for a better experience, especially at a birthday dinner with family. Normally I'm not this difficult, but I wanted to give you an honest review, as you requested via email.

Food is delicious but that’s about it. The service is horrible from start to finish. I tried to get a table and was ignored and when i finally got a table and order the food, they brought the food without cutlery or napkins, they brought the cutlery but no napkins and never brought the water I ordered twice. There restaurant was nowhere busy while I was there so there’s no excuse for this terrible service.

A cozy Italian restaurant with a smaller, well-arranged menu, pasta and pizza... we had 3 pasta and 2 pizza, everything was fresh, tasty and good. The staff was very friendly, clean toilet and reasonable prices.

We went because we saw that it was a place praised on social media. We ate the pasta with tomato sauce in the picture. It tasted good but I've had better. So there is no exaggerated taste. My other friends ate pasta and pizza with bolognese sauce. Their ideas are the same as mine. The environment was nice. Employees are concerned. We sat inside. The empty tables outside were reserved. Anyone wanting to go outside should call ahead. Prices are a little high.

Went today for my birthday. I've been here several times in the past and the service was always very good, but it's completely different now. Reserved, but then placed at the bar. If you ask for help, they will “come right back to you”, that doesn't happen. Had to wait a very long time for food that was not as good as it used to be. Very unfortunate, but we won't be coming here anymore.

We went here for some dinner and drinks. I highly recommend the margarita pizza and the carbonara pasta. The cocktails were good as well. My favorite was the panna cotta for the desert. However it is a bit pricey for the service and atmosphere. The service did not meet the mark as the waiters did seem a bit rude

We met for a birthday celebration. The environment is very sweet. We all tried different pizzas, the taste was really great on all of them. I also recommend their cocktails.

Food is nice, service is bad. 1. We took pizza with anchovies, but the cook forgot to add them. We asked, they placed it on top, didn't replace the pizza. The pizza was nice. 2. The service was really slow.

We ordered pizza and pasta carbonara, it was really nice, the pizza dough was so nice and the pasta was also really creamy, it was quite busy though so we sat at the bar, but we enjoyed observing the cooks making the pizza in an open kitchen tho haha, a little expensive though

Ceppi’s is fantastic! Pizza and pasta are all wonderful - could not recommend it more. The service is also excellent, as the staff are friendly and experienced.

I went there based on lot of recommendations but was disappointed by both food and service. Staff felt bit snobbish and were very slow to serve. I asked for extra parmesan which was served only after i had almost finished my pasta. Tiramisu also didnt feel great and fresh to me. I wouldnt want to go back here.

Really trendy and vibey atmosphere with some decent italian food. Definitely more of an experience-type of place due to the very high prices (a relatively small portion of cacio e pepe with two glasses of prosecco ran us 40 euros per person). Price to quality ratio is alright considering the nice location and profesional service but other than that i'd say it was a bit overpriced, food was tasty though. I've heard that on the weekends it turns into a bit of a party so I'm looking forward to returning! Overall pleasant place if you are willing to spend a bit of money!

Absolutely fantastic find! The food was delicious - we had the focaccia and arancini to start which were brilliant. My partner had the spicy vodka pasta and I had the ravioli - both were really tasty. Really enjoyed our visit here - good atmosphere and good service. Would happily come again!

No need to detail every aspect of my experience. Restaurant with a very very poor service experience. The staff was drinking during the service, didn't pay attention, didn't care.

I had the same good pizza, if you close your eyes you are in the heart of Naples, the pizza is that good there!!! Exceptional for the Netherlands.

We went to eat there with a reservation. The service wasn't very personal but it was fast and efficient We ordered two pizzas. One was with anchovies and my bf liked it plenty. Mine was vegetarian with walnut pesto and it was tremendously greasy so I didn't enjoy it. The place is crammed and you're sitting almost on your neighbors lap, but the interior is cute.prices are high, slightly above average for Amsterdam maybe? We paid 70e for 2 ppl food (pizza) plus a drink each.

really nice, cozy restaurant, you have to make a reservation very early if you want to eat there on the weekend between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., everything is usually fully booked weeks in advance. The pizzas are very tasty but also a bit more expensive. There was no mojito on the menu but they mixed one for us anyway! Very friendly staff

We told them no reservation, got seated at the bar because they had no space, couple after us told them the same thing but they got a table instead? Two students vs couple that fits their aesthetic :) Staff looked like they wanted to leave 4 hours ago, pizza was super soggy but I kind of like it that way

Very tasty, high quality pasta. Not exactly cheap, but the pasta was worth its €22/€24. Could have been a slightly larger portion for my taste. The male waiter was courteous and friendly. The two of us shared a dessert, which was also very tasty. Unfortunately, the aperitif menu only had alcoholic drinks, so we would have liked non-alcoholic options. We would still eat there again and again and can definitely recommend it!

There was a lack of customer service. It took quite a bit to have someone seat me and another 30 minutes to get the menu. After we got our food, there was hair in it. They didn’t offer anything on the house, nor did they take it off the bill.

I booked a month ahead expecting to be seated at a proper table and instead the have put me on the counter facing the pizzeria area. Took the waitress 5 min to get me seated simply because I wasn’t dutch. Since it’s an italian restaurant I expected a proper international welcoming environment but instead the Dutch waitresses were treating non-dutch people extremely rudely. The food was good but the service ruined the whole night. Let’s not even mention how at the end when getting the bill I had to pay 6€ for tap water and when asking for explanation from the waitress all she could say was “I don’t know anything about the prices”, when it’s her job knowing what you’re serving. I found the place to be racist and extremely close-minded. Way too hyped.

absolutely love! the vibes are so cute and the food is super good quality, my only complaint is that there’s a bit of excessiveness with the oil but love the place!

We had 2 pasta dishes and a pizza between the 2 of us, and the dishes were quite tasty but what let this place down was the service and the cocktails. We both got the same cocktail but it was nearly undrinkable, there was zero flavour other than nail polish remover - €13 each wasted on that. Also we asked if it was okay if we could get tap water, as we know some places in Amsterdam are funny about that, and our waitress said of course and brought us an open bottle of water, which we presumed she filled from the tap - but when the bill came, we saw that we had been charged for a bottle of still water. Most importantly the service and atmosphere of this place was really lacking. From even just entering the restaurant the waitress seemed to have an attitude about her and came across as kind of hostile towards us. It wasn't a particularly busy night so I don't believe it was due to being busy. The whole time she was just really odd and 'direct' in her answers and whenever we finished our meal we both wanted to pay the bill and get out as soon as we could as both just felt uncomfortable being there. Perhaps it was due to being tourists, but I cannot recommend the service or atmosphere of this place

The food was decent—not the best, but still enjoyable. However, the service was very disappointing. We had booked a table months in advance, but due to an unforeseen event, we arrived 30 minutes late. We were told when we arrived that the kitchen was closing at 15:30pm 😅, but that doesn’t excuse the rudeness we were met with. The two female servers working that day seemed visibly annoyed from the moment we walked in. It felt like we were disturbing them just by being there—asking for a Coke or placing our order came across as an inconvenience. Despite the circumstances, their attitude made us feel extremely unwelcome, and it wasn’t even particularly busy. Unfortunately, the poor service really overshadowed the rest of the experience.

A complete disappointment. We went for dinner around 21:00. Someone we thought was the bartender took our order, for some reason. Exactly 45 minutes later, we said check it out. They brought completely different orders. When we said these are not ours, they said we are sorry, it was a mistake, and offered 2 wines. It is regret.

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The customer service was below expectations. Despite making a reservation in advance and specifically asking not to be seated next to the door, that was the table they gave us. We had to wait 25-30 minutes for another table. When the waitress brought the wine glasses, she didn't even tell us which one was which, which is a basic courtesy you expect from a waiter. Then, there was the issue with the order—my main course arrived before the antipasto, which should have been the other way around. Also, the pizza was burnt as you can see in the pictures. It was a small part that you could eat from it, which was very disappointing given the reviews..When we asked for the bill, the waitress took 20 minutes to check in with us, and even then, we weren't offered anything else. On top of all this, the portion of rigatoni alla vodka was tiny for the price. Far from a great experience overall.

Booked months in advance for 3 people, only to be seated at the smallest 2 person square table, which made us feel we were an afterthought that had to be squeezed in somewhere. The Dutch waitress kept talking English to us, even though we’re Dutch. Every time she came back to the table she‘d start again in English, which is just annoying. The good things were the mocktails and dessert. Everything else was a big bummer… The Nonna Gina pizza was so soaked with tomato sauce that the bottom dissolved. It wasn’t even possible to eat the pizza by hand. We also ordered a Casio e Pepe pasta which was an abysmal small portion which cost €22 (!). All in all we spent almost €50 p.p. for a drink, a pizza and dessert. For the quality of food and service this is absolutely not worth it.

Don’t know if it’s because we have no Dutch but had to ask the waiter 4 times waiting over 40 minutes before he brought our order for drinks. This happened twice. We visited on a week night and I definitely wouldn’t like to experience what kind service there is on a weekend. Rigatoni pasta was also quite hard not al dente, too firm. Location is very hidden with no signage or logo on outside of building. Perhaps we would return to try the pizza as it looked better. We appreciate that the night was busy however for such a commended restaurant we were very surprised with the slow service. Interiors were beautiful.

We had a reservation at 17:00 and finally we got our food at 18:15 after 3 times we notified the staff that there has been such a long time for just a spaghetti and rib eye medium rare. The first time we asked if everything is ok with our food and they used the excuse that spaghetti takes long. After on the second notification they said the food is coming. 15 min later and after asking to cancel the order, the food came. The portion of spaghetti was extremely small and the ruined the rib eye by mixing it with rocket and put cheese on it. One of the worst experience and especially the way they treated us.Totally not worth 85 euros meal.

Best italian food I had so far. Good pasta good pizza you can choose almost anything from the menu and it doesn’t disappoint!

The starters and appetizers were hot and the pizza was very successful. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cheerful. As in all the Netherlands, the service is slower than in Turkey. However, their prices are much more affordable than ours in terms of price performance. Reservation is a must.

The only question I have for this place is: why is it not possible to contact the restaurant? My sister has been trying to book this place for her birthday for more than a week. Do you think that's normal for a customer service? Either you fire your administrator who can't do his simple job, or you give him instructions what to do while he's working there. Unacceptable behavior for such a restaurant. No way I'll recommend this place to anyone or go there myself.

Creative Neapolitan pizza's instead of the usuals. Thick fluffy dough. Very nice. The melanzana left a big impression as a compact multilayered brick of aubergine full of flavor. Loved that splash of stracciatella on the side. Very very good dish. Tiramisu went full on hazelnut with both the mascarpone and lots of nuts on the side. Big and heavy. Tasty and new.

We came to eat here for the second time. The staff is very helpful, and we came without a reservation. There was a spot available at the pizza bar, which added a certain charm. Ceppi's is a cozy, attractive restaurant. The food is just tasty, but not necessarily 'wow' or anything like that. Still, it's a nice restaurant to have a date. The burrata is an absolute must.

Seasonal ravioli (pumpkin & sage butter) and Ducale pizza were excellent choices. Everything we ate was extremely delicious🫠🤤 You should definitely try profiterole for dessert.

The staff was very friendly and kind. The appetizers and pizza were tasty. However, the main courses were disappointing. They arrived cold and lacked any distinctive flavor. To make matters worse, one of the main dishes was completely forgotten.The cocktails were not very good either. For the quality of the food and drinks, the prices were too high. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. It might be a good place for pizza, but i wouldn’t recommend for a full meal.

The atmosphere was nice. However the food was a big disappointment. We ordered the burrata, the texture was very odd. The spicy rigatoni alla vodka was average. Also we ordered the diavola pizza, it was very spicy because of the black pepper. We couldn’t even eat it. Lastly, we ordered the tiramisu, and we couldn’t even call it a tiramisu. Overall, the experience was very mid.

Really delicious pizzas and desserts! Just the pizza with rosemary... it's unique, I've never seen it anywhere else. On the other hand, we were really treated like sub-customers. Never accept the table in the back: - door wide open 10 times under 3 degrees - the trash cans are placed at your feet (it's not a joke) - the other trash cans are behind you with the door open between the smell of bleach and trash cans. ...I don't understand how you can do that in a restaurant

Italian dishes certainly very good and in a very beautiful setting, but quite expensive for the quantity. The dish is swallowed in three minutes (when you've waited thirty minutes it's frustrating) and you don't come away feeling satisfied. The real problem is the service: the waiters seem to get along well, even too much. They are numerous and yet they are very inefficient, slow and more inclined to flirt with customers than to share the work. In short, we advise against it, you can eat Italian better in many places in Amsterdam.

Had to wait a while for our table, no problem. Had reserved a table, but were then placed at the bar. We had to ask all the time to order drinks, staff never once asked if we wanted something to drink or if we wanted a bottle of water at all. Starter was very tasty, but without exaggeration the starter was off the table for 10 seconds and the main course was already there. In our opinion this was very annoying, then having to ask for a drink again. The atmosphere is good, but it is not the place to go out for a nice meal, because you will be outside again within 45 minutes.

Great carbonara pasta! I would have preferred them to do it with the traditional rigatoni pasta, like they do in Rome. I saw in the pictures they were doing this before. But now I was served spaghetti. Nonetheless, taste was amazing. Also surprisingly very very good service which is VERY rare in Amsterdam. Also good vitelo tonato! Later edit: I also tried the pizza and is my second best pizza place in Amsterdam. I appreciate the fact that unlike the nr 1 pizza in Amsterdam, I can actually book a table for this week and don't have to book 1 year in advance. The quality is amazing! 👏 I also loved the eggplant parmigiano

Great service and vibe, but price and quality of food are disproportionate. Expensive evening, pizza +/- €25. Little choice in pasta’s, the ones offered are limited in vegetables. Tiramisu not tasty, not the one you used to but made to easily keep for a long time in the fridge. I would recommend more authentic Italians in Amsterdam

Food was top service was very friendly. Quality is great, you can pay cash for one of the better restaurants in Amsterdam.

The place is very cozy, has a nice atmosphere. Food did not disappoint at all. The Vitellio tonnato was excellent. Pizza doe very Italian and pasta cooked al dente. Pancotta for dessert was also very tasty. All in all a very good experience.

A small hidden gem in Amsterdam! The staff were really kind and we could also interact with the chefs. You could see how your meal was getting prepared which was very cool. Everything we order was delicious and the atmosphere was breathtaking! Worths the visit for sure!
