We had a delicious meal here! Authentic Italian food at its best! Friendly service, and the chef even came over to explain how he had made something when we asked. Highly recommended!

I wish them all the best, but a cup of ice cream from Hanos for 8 euros is the last straw for us... I'm sorry, but the price-quality ratio is gone. Very simple food for a very hefty price. I understand that Amsterdam is expensive and that staff is expensive, but after being guests for years, we are calling it quits.

What was once a friendly, reasonably priced pizzeria has lost much of its appeal. After months of closure to rennovate and change the concept, there appears to have been little visible renovation, yet prices have increased significantly and pizzas have disappeared from the menu. The staff’s attitude now comes across as arrogant and unwelcoming. Not worth the money anymore. PS (to the reply below): Your cheapest vegetarian pasta costs €20 and is tasteless including your main dish for €25. If you are changing the concept and charging higher prices, you should also consider changing the chef, and your attitude. Look at the way you reply to customers in the reviews. Even AI struggles to translate your arrogance into something that is polite. What are your talking about….accept the feedback as a first step and say thank you that customers are willing to give you feedback to improve your mediocre place.

Very expensive and never really hits. Unfortunately I’ve tried this neighborhood spot 3-4x and every time I feel it’s over priced and lacks flavor. For example, Bruschetta for 2 being €15 and a crodino (non alcoholic soda) for €7 is just way too expensive. Maybe for restaurants in Amsterdam the cost have really shot up but spending €75 for a very simple dinner with no alcohol for two is too much.

Good restaurant with dishes from different Italian regions.

Catching up with a good friend is perfectly possible at this authentic Italian restaurant in Amsterdam-North. I had a classic lasagne alla Bolognese, probably the best I've ever had; it was ready to eat immediately and didn't have to be piping hot for 20 minutes first. Simply perfection on a plate. All the other drinks, such as the Chianti, doppio espresso, and Grappa, were amazing. Highly recommended!

A really nice place with tasty food. It's a real shame that pizzas aren't on the menu anymore, because you don't get them like that anywhere else. But even without the pizzas, we had a delicious meal. The staff is very friendly. So, 4 stars. With pizzas, it would have been 5. We will definitely be back.

Visited Il Pecorino in Amsterdam and it’s a great spot if you’re craving authentic Italian flavors. From Amsterdam Centraal, take the F3 Ferry to Buiksloterweg. It is a free ferry and you will reach the Noord part. It is a 10-12 minute walk from there. The place has a warm, cozy vibe that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a small neighborhood trattoria. You can spot it from afar as it's right there on the corner. It’s not overly fancy, but it’s comfortable and perfect for a relaxed meal. We tried a few classics, including their bruschetta, which was super fresh — crisp bread, ripe tomatoes, and simple flavors that really let the ingredients shine. Everything feels honest and well-balanced, exactly what you’d hope for in a good Italian spot. The mushroom pasta was cooked just right and had that rich, comforting taste without feeling too heavy. What we liked most is that it’s the kind of place that works for both a casual dinner and a slightly special night out, depending on your mood. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed.

Bring back the pizza! Or at least the calzone.

An Italian restaurant that doesn't serve pizza. And when you ask for Parmesan cheese for your pasta, the waitress tells you they don't use it in Italy. We've been to Italy many times and we've always been given Parmesan. Furthermore, the table was very cramped and nothing made us want to stay long.

The neighborhood pizzeria has become a fussy concept for yuppies. That you move away from pizzas, fine, I can understand. I order a main course, "porchetta tradizionale." I get two tossed-in bacon slices with half a potato and no vegetables. Can hardly be called a main course. It is all very disappointing; the staff is fantastically sweet, the food tastes excellent otherwise, but the portion you get is not representative of the money you pay. Very unfortunate, please just send those pizzas back.

This could be one of the best restaurants. The atmosphere is unique, and the food is very good. However, there's a small catch for customers – the pandemic a few years ago taught Amsterdam residents that you have to book a table in advance. Unfortunately, Il Pecorino has become so accustomed to this that even after several years, they still require reservations – and there's not a single mention of this on their website or website. It's confusing and very unpleasant when you plan a nice evening with good pizza in a nice place during their opening hours – but despite many tables seemingly available at first glance, you leave empty-handed because they're supposedly booked! This information should be on their website, because turning a customer away is very unpleasant. I won't be setting foot there again.

Amazing experience, we had the pasta and it was amazing i highly recommend the one with pesto it was exquisite. The staff were really nice and friendly, helpful through the whole dining experience.

Surprising! The fried seafood, black spaghetti, and lemon tart are definitely recommended. The lasagna and tiramisu had a familiar taste. The lasagna was very filling due to the amount of cheese. We will come back here again :)

Had a delicious meal and a super cozy restaurant!

We were a group of 13 people with small children. We sat in a room separate from the rest of the restaurant with some toys for the little ones, who entertained themselves well. Service was top-notch, friendly and fast. The dishes were delicious; certainly not standard Italian fare, but beautiful dishes. Please note: there are no pizzas on the menu. This was not a problem for us, but they are shown in the photos.

Unfortunately, no more pizzas... The menu has changed, but the name of the restaurant hasn't, so that was an unpleasant surprise. No longer suitable for a quick bite to eat. They are now attempting to offer fine Italian food at corresponding prices, but there are other places in Amsterdam where you can do this much better. A loss for the neighborhood!

Had a lovely dinner with my parents but the restaurant mixed up the bills. The restaurant called me to come back to pay the difference (€70). My dad went back the next day to find a middle ground but they were rude and unapologetic. We paid the bill that was presented so I don't see how this is our problem. I would have expected better service. In response to the owner: that's an aweful lot of words to say "we make our customers pay for the mistakes we make".

Because we saw the neighboring restaurant serving large portions, we decided to share a few dishes. Unfortunately, we were met with eye-rolling and several rather irritated remarks. The restaurant was half empty upon arrival and departure, so it wasn't as if they had to turn away other guests. It's a shame to let your guard down like that. The pasta was cooked a bit too long.

Great pizza’s, great pastas, real Italian feel and taste, I love to even order take out from there, but the service depends on your luck… There is an older guy, possibly owner who makes you feel very welcome and makes you laugh and simply happy to be there… but there is this lady and a couple if servers working with her that made our whole work dinner terrible and my colleagues very uncomfortable! Least to say even though I had group dinners there before we stopped doing that after a couple of similar incidents… now we either take the good to go or choose another place…

Excellent experience! Fast and impeccable service, superb dishes, and generous portions. The desserts were very good, with a particularly delicious daily special. Special mention to the French-speaking waitress, who was super friendly and smiling. I highly recommend it.

The food was good, despite the shrimp not being fresh. They were impossible to peel. When I pointed this out, they were unfortunately fresh. I suggested the waitress peel them herself, but she refused. It's a shame. The rest of the food was good. The comment below is a shame: I really know when shrimp are fresh. If they had bothered to peel the shrimp, they could have confirmed that they were definitely not fresh. It happens. The reaction at the table and in the review is therefore unwise.

The pasta was flavorless and the meat was dry. The toilet was extremely dirty!

Before April 2025, you could get the most amazing Neapolitan pizzas here; that was the strength of this place. But unfortunately, things had to change. The dishes sold here are uncreative. The chef(s) don't excel at anything. It was my last time. Very mediocre.

Delicious food, beautiful interior, and friendly staff. In the summer, it is lovely to sit on the terrace, and in the winter, it is cozy inside (nice and warm). This place is a great addition to Noord!!

We used to come here for pizza. But we have never returned after a horrific experience. They gave us tap water with a cigarette in the bottle. Water tasted like an ashtray. It was a very disgusting experience. After notifying them they did not even thoroughly apologised and let us pay all the bill (they even took tip that we didn’t want to give). Absurd experience.

Consistently good restaurant. Both service and food are always very good. The only change is that they have stopped selling pizza which is a shame.

Went to this restaurant Friday both had pasta I had mushroom with masala wine sauce my husband had the slow cook meat special. He also had the most wonderful tiramisu. Andreas and Tanya are wonderful and a visit to this restaurant is a must

It's a cozy restaurant, but the food was unfortunately disappointing, or we made the wrong choices (two eggplant casseroles and one chef's pasta). The Frittura di Pesce starter was okay. Furthermore, it took a very long time for our dishes to be served. When two of our tablemates were already halfway through their casseroles, I finally received my pasta – with Parma ham crumbs, even though I had clearly stated beforehand that I didn't want that. The dish was taken back without an apology or explanation of how long it would take again. My tablemates had already finished by the time my correct dish finally arrived. I think it's a shame that the kitchen doesn't try to serve the dishes simultaneously and that there was so little attention to service and communication. From my own experience in the hospitality industry, I know this could definitely be improved. I think that the level of service here in the Netherlands is simply not what people are accustomed to, unfortunately. Not worth repeating, as far as I'm concerned...

Had a delicious meal in a cozy restaurant.

I don't know what happened here. Used to be a cosy place with great food and character. Now - standard fast food type Italian fare served by arrogant staff at premium prices - tasteless fridge bruschetta, tasteless cheesy lasagna, etc. Literally no taste, which is rare. And not even fast, took a long time to get served. To be avoided by (Italian) food lovers.

It was delicious. Great atmosphere, even better service. The wines were brilliant and affordable, and the food was super tasty. The meat was a bit tough, but still delicious.

We had a fantastic evening at this restaurant! We started with the unique appetizers, Arrosticini and a Crostone, which were truly delicious. The main courses were equally impressive: artichoke sausage pasta and tagliata di manzo with truffle. Truly delicious! If you're looking for authentic, traditional Italian cuisine that goes beyond the classic pasta pesto or bolognese, this restaurant is definitely recommended!

Finally, an Italian restaurant without pizza or just pasta, but with a real Italian dinner: antipasto, pasta, primi, and dolce! All of excellent quality! With delicious wines. Served by attentive, friendly staff. A bit noisy when it's full. And that's in Noord... a 6-minute walk from the ferry... wow!!

Super disappointed! This place does not serve pizza anymore, which was the best. We always came from the center to Noord to eat the nduja pizza, where to our surprise, this place turned into a sub-par pasta restaurant. Nothing special anymore and they changed the menu for no reason. Sadly enough, won’t be coming here anymore. RIP best pizza in Amsterdam.

Wanted to give 1 star - but out of respect this is the verdict. If you want good pasta potions that is tasty and soft with a high probability that there is decent amounts of meat (not an italian roulette) then look elsewhere.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam! Even though they don't serve pizzas anymore, their menu is great, I can really recommend the Carmelle 'dello chef' ripiene di pistacchio e limone!

We've been here many times, and the food is always excellent. The staff is always friendly, but also honest, and if something is too much, they'll always let you know. We always enjoy our meal here.

Well, I align with all the other reviews thinking deleting one of the best pizzas in town is a bad idea. Our experience wasn't the same as always and we decided to skip Il Pecorino in the future. We've been clients from before the renovation, we've been clients during the Wilhelmina period and regular in the new restaurant. Thanks for all these years. Best, Daniel.

Delicious food, nice decor, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, it's always very noisy and quite expensive for pasta.

The pulpo carpatio tasted like nothing, and the large salad was limp with only tomato dressing. Melanzane was delicious. Good service.

It was just awful, I will never come to this place again. After all, at first we waited for them to find us a place, and the most important thing is that we saw that people had already left and we could have taken it! But they didn’t tell us anything and when we asked again, they said that they were no longer working! Excuse me, what is this called?

Unfortunately,we could try anything. Waiters we not friendly at all.Firstly, they said us that they don’t have space,so we can sit for the special tables where we can order drinks. We were waiting for someone to order drinks ,at least,but nobody came. Then we asked if we can already order drinks and food,cause we saw 3 free tables in area where everyone eaten. And a waiter said that they “don’t take new people” only people who have reservations. It’s okay if they don’t have place, it was not okay to ask us to wait and then reject us.

I recently had dinner at Il Pecorino and my experience was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. We began with a burrata served over sautéed spinaches, roasted cherry tomatoes and a slice of toasted bread. The presentation was inviting and the flavors even more so: the burrata was luxuriously creamy, pairing beautifully with the delicate bitterness of the greens and the sweetness of the tomatoes. The crunchy toast added a final touch of texture, making it a perfectly balanced starter. For the first course, I chose a classic gricia. The pasta was cooked to perfection, enveloped in a creamy, silky sauce made from cheese and a hint of black pepper. The guanciale was crisp on the outside yet meltingly tender inside, adding richness and depth to every bite. The orecchiette with cherry tomatoes and leafy greens was another highlight of the evening. The dish was vibrant both in appearance and flavor, with the pasta carrying just the right bite. The tomatoes burst with sweetness, while the greens added a pleasant freshness. Service was attentive and friendly. A special mention must go to Tanya and Andreas, the owners, whose warmth and genuine kindness made the evening truly memorable. In a previous post the owner accused me of being unfair and angry with my latest review, because I couldn’t get my beloved pizza anymore. ABSOLUTELY NOT !!! I totally accept the fact that you can make your own business decisions by taking your number one item, your pizza, completely off the menu. I came back one more time to give you another opportunity to serve me with the choice of your Italian dishes. The result? As bad as a week ago, and of course we mentioned it to your staff. It’s not about the pizza, it’s about the dishes on your menu and how they taste… Am I angry ? No, just being honest ☺️

The perfect recipe of losing loyal customers !! One might think that if you stop selling your number one favorite dish, which was by far the delicious and famous pizza, you will replace it with something better? That’s where the disappointment starts. You could have kept the pizza on the menu and offer additional dishes ?? No, instead you wanted to get rid off your favorite pizza. The pasta dishes we had were quite tasteless with a watery sauce. Really nothing to brag about it. We now have to find another place to call our favorite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam Noord. By the way, service and atmosphere are still wonderful !! It‘s just the food, which should be key for any restaurant.

Apparently there’s new owners. Honestly this place used to my favorite little spot in Noord. But they don’t serve pizza anymore which was the best ???? It was traditional Napoli pizza. SO DISAPPOINTING. I settled for the lasagna which was decent, but the others that I was with didn’t enjoy - the portions were extremely small and no flavor at all. The menu options are terrible. Service was fine but when we asked what happened to the pizza they were just like “idk” and super cold. I also think it's interesting / shady with how they still use the same restaurant name and interior style too, when the staff and menu is completely changed. They should use a completely different name if they're going to change the restaurant so much. Not coming back here. I’m so shocked.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing; the food was not good, expensive, and we had to wait over an hour and a half for it to be served. Really poor service. We used to be regulars (and not just for the pizzas...), but we won't be back now.

We had a wonderful meal here in a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious, and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. A truly lovely place to be! Unfortunately, there was one moment that somewhat detracted from the experience. When I politely mentioned that something was missing from my plate (compared to the same dish served by my dining companion), I was treated rather rudely. Instead of a simple solution or understanding, I received a condescending response that ingredients "aren't counted per plate" and a rather curt response. That was a shame—such a small effort could have made a huge difference in the customer experience. Fortunately, the rest of the evening and the company made up for it. But hopefully, this is taken to heart, as it detracts from an otherwise very positive experience.

What happened to this place? I see many people complain about the pizza, but please let's forget about it, there are many other pizza places. What I find shocking is how much worse the menu' choices, the quality of the food, and the management became. I ordered an orata in crosta. I guess you guys have not even seen a picture of what it should look like? They brought me an orata al cartoccio (cooked in kitchen paper), with boiled potatoes over it and a couple of cherry tomatoes for some reason. There was no crust (as to get that you need to cook it without the cartoccio, it is supposed to be crunchy, not boiled), and there were potatoes also on the bottom, under the skin??? Then as side I ordered oven potatoes, which were dry and soft (they just seemed boiled and covered in herbs). I honestly doubt they ever saw an oven. I also had a "frittura di pesce", which included for some reason 5 shrimp heads (yes just heads - why would you fry that???). The food (besides the fried fish) arrived 1.5 hours after we arrived there. People around us were also waiting and the restaurant was not even that busy. Nobody said sorry for that, until I complained at the end. About prices and portions, they were the same before but at least before it was worth it. The place was great, what happened to you? I wish the pizza was the problem.

Great food. The outdoor seating was nice, but a little noisy. I can't comment on the indoor seating. Both of my companions and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

No more pizza! Small portions of overly hard pasta for around 20 euros. Not that special. The staff was nice but not trained. The "boss" openly criticized the staff. Disappointment... Really overpriced, too.
