Small cheesecake shop near city centre, on one of the small quiet side streets. Takeout only. I ordered a cake to collect and the whole process was really smooth. The owner will email you back once he's received the order, and you dont need to pay any deposit. All card types are accepted in store. The cheesecake was a decent size, but rather than a glamourous/fancy cake, it was more of a homey cake. Great for close families. The owner gave me some candles for the cake, which was nice. In terms of the cake, it was good - not the best I've had to be honest but decent. Personally, it wasn't cheesy enough, and the base wasn't buttery enough, but this is personal preference. I was told everything was homemade and fresh.

This is an experience to be tried absolutely in Amsterdam! We tried two cheese cakes that recalled the characteristics of Greece and Germany. Mariatos was a super host, he explained in detail every one of his creations. Grazie mille

Nice cheesecake, not blown away. Cool that he makes different cakes every day. I think the prices are high for what the place looks like, it’s mainly for take away and there are limited seating options. In the summer you can sit outside on the bench, which is cool.

It's such a sweet little shop. I emailed ahead to ask for a cheesecake to use as a birthday cake, which they made. It was one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had.

The only downside to this place is, the cheesecake is sooooooo good I didn’t even have a chance to take a picture!! 🤣🤣🤣 I love that when you go there you are able to gossip about how the lack of flavour runs through the whole of this country but not in THIS store!! 🤭🤭 Spyros, is funny, friendly and loves a good story…🙏 We will bring you a slice of milk tart next time my wife makes it champ!! Finally decided to see what the hype is about and let me say this: the hype is REAL. The New York cheesecake alone is worth the visit. Incredible texture, creamy and insanely delicious. Best NY cheesecake I have eaten so far in The Netherlands. Spiros is very kind and friendly. You can definitely tell he has good knowledge about his craft. Absolute must when visiting Amsterdam!! Spyro’s cheesecakes are the best we have ever eaten!! There is a selection of different types and flavours, which is difficult because you want to try them all!! We visited about 5 years ago and had to come back again because it was that good!😊 Spyro is very friendly, kind and passionate about what he does which shows, we forgot to post the post card years ago but will definitely send it back this time!! Walking past this place I spotted some tiny Greek flags in one of the cakes and peeked in closer through the window. Although it was packed with people on the inside, I could just make out the word melomakarono on the tag next to the cheescake. I was immediately transported to my childhood and Christmases spent eating my yiayia's homemade cookies. We went in and spoke with the baker. He was so personable and welcoming--even when I stumbled to remember any of the Greek I learned growing up. The cheescakes were delicious. Every calorie was worth it. I wish we'd brought one home with us!

Amazing shop in a dream spot in Amsterdam! I knew about this store for years from articles written in magazines and newspapers. I really wanted to go when I was going on a trip to Amsterdam and this is how it happened! I tried two flavors, the pannacota became my favorite! Both were completely fresh, with a balance in taste and the right amount per piece!! I had the opportunity to talk a little with the owner and that's how everything is explained! A very likeable and polite young man who loves what he does and you understand it from the first minute you enter the shop. Congratulations Spyro and when I come back to Amsterdam I know where the first stop for dessert will be now! 😉

We were looking for something sweet and stumbled on this unassuming shop. We left totally blown away by the positive personality of the owner. We thought this man was the happiest and most content looking person we've seen this year. And this was reflected in his craft. The desserts were absolute works of art and love. Regrettably, we only bought two pieces but won't repeat this mistake again and will definitely get one of each next time. Already looking forward to it.

It deserves the title of best cheesecake in Amsterdam without a doubt. The classic Basque and New York style cheesecakes are unmatched in texture and great flavour. The special seasonal cakes are also creative and delicious. Moreover, the owner is charming and friendly which makes the experience even better. I saw the shop sign and I am thinking you know what, he’s right. The owner is lovely and so passionate. He gave us some good travel advice too which we appreciated. Good selection of cheesecakes and was hard to pick just one. I had espresso, caramel burnt cheescake. Yum yum. My diet went straight out of the window.

As one football player said “your expectations are your problems” and that’s happened with me today. I’ve ordered a basque cheesecake but unfortunately it wasn’t even close to Basque Cheesecake. Very dense texture and it tasted more like a russian “zapekanka”. But a Basque Cheesecake has to be very creamy, gentle texture.

Fantastically delicious cake. The owner really knows what he is doing. In addition to the delicious cake, there was a funny conversation and the important basics of good cheesecake were explained. The shop is small but nice. When the weather is good you can enjoy the cake on the quiet street in front of the door. It would only be better if the shop were slightly larger so that you could sit inside and enjoy a coffee with cake.

Yes it is a dessert. But it's not a cheesecake whatsoever. It's an interpretation of the original cheesecake not really close to how it's meant to be. The fruit version contains lemon, which you have to be aware of if you dislike it. But the biggest problem is cheese itself. It is not dense and rich, it's more jelly. I don't know if there's gelatin, but it seemed so. Or maybe the proportions are wrong. If you like any sweets, you are going to like it, because it is still sweet, it's not bad. But if you are picky and look for the original taste, you are going to be disappointed. I don't want to give a low rating because the owner is friendly.

Best cheesecakes of the Netherlands!

Went there with my friend today for the very first time. Before that we had a terrible lunch at a seafood restaurant, and thus we were craving for a nice piece of dessert to save our day. The cheesecake there truly is everything🥲🥲🥲creamy and not too sweet at the same time(so it won’t give you high blood sugar, love it). I had one slice in the store and couldn’t resist ordering another slice to take home. Overall a really lovely experience!

The service was really helpful and polite, happy to help us with our order and really communicative!! The friuty cheesecake we ordered was by far one of the best we have ever tried as it had a really unique and strong flavor and was not like a usual cheesecake. It was really tasty and will definitely visit again in the future! Highly recommended to everyone that is in Amsterdam !

Was recommended to Cheesy cakes by one of my best mates. Tried the baked matcha and baked caramel and coffee. Both cheesecakes had the perfect balance of flavours, texture and consistency. The cream was creamy yet light enough not to leave a sickly feeling once eaten. Customer service was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of the best cheesecakes around. Wanted to try the basque but it was sold out unfortunately 😞

If you want to try various recipes and actually learn about cheesecakes in Amsterdam from an actual chef who studied the subject ( and wrote a book about it ) then this is the right place. Mind you this is not a cafe, this is a one-man bussiness in the most expensive hood in town. Spiros has always fun themes according to season, (eg Halloween, Holidays, Eurovision, Kingsday, to say a few) and is always friendly. He has excellent service and respect towards the clients. I have tried many cheesecakes but my favorite chocolate and dates! I have ordered many time for birthdays, baby showers and office events and Spiros has never let us down. If anything he went the extra mile to accommodate even last minute request. Amsterdam is not a cheese cake place. If you like cheap and super sweet - tooth decay level- cakes CC is probably is not your place.

My search for good cheesecake is over. Owner makes delicious cheesecakes daily and they are not pumped with sugar, so you can taste the cheese, the texture and everything else without needing a sip of coffee.
