Update : After an initial disappointment with the delivery and communication, the owner reached out to me and clarified the situation. I really appreciated the effort to help resolve the issue and their willingness to address my concerns. And the cake was very nice! That said, I think the communication during the process could have been better to avoid the misunderstanding in the first place. --- I’m extremely disappointed with this delivery. I placed an order for a cake to be delivered as a gift to someone, and instead of ensuring it reached them, the courier simply left it at the entrance of the building. When I pointed it out to this business, this was the response : "Did you ask to be called or to who deliver it ?" I understand that you hired an external delivery company, but at least try to help me make sure that the cake arrived to the concerned person, instead of dismissing me. This is completely unacceptable for a perishable item that I paid 70 euros for. I expected basic professionalism and common sense, and this fell far short.

I came specifically for the Red Velvet cake (it is my absolute favorite). And they DELIVERED. I was SO GOOD I CRIED. Texture was perfect, super moist with not being to dense. Icing was not overly sweet and was not to cream cheesy. AMAZING!!!

I have quite a sweet tooth and was excited to try this spot and came here on a rainy day. Sadly the interior is quite dark and not inviting or cosy to sit down in. Service was friendly but slow despite there only being 2 other people at the time of arriving. The most disappointing was the food. The cakes were incredibly sweet and the coffee was weak and warm.

Picked up red velvet cake to take away. Google says the store is open until 22:00. But we could only pick up at 21:20. Cake was good moist price was reasonable, but nothing is like "before" anymore 😅

This was a truly disappointing experience. The chocolate cake and caramel cake hit the stomach like a stone. The frosting was grainy, as if the sugar hadn't even dissolved properly. The iced latte was 99% milk and just a hint of coffee, and to our surprise there wasn't even any syrup available – something you would expect in a place like this. The service also left much to be desired. The employee took our order while leaning against a table, in her winter coat and seemed disinterested. All in all, a chaotic, amateurish experience that we won't repeat anytime soon.

I ordered via Uber Foods and everything was packed perfectly. The most tasty were chocolate bread and banana bread. Cheesecake and red velvet are a little sweet to me. But anyway absolutely worth it!

Cakes are good. Coffee not so good. The cafe just feels weird. Nobody greets you, you don’t really know if you have to go order or if someone will take your order. Updating my review: I usually do not sit at the cafe but often take the cake out as I live very close by. Banana bread is good, spéculos cheese cake is delicious, and red velvet pop cakes as well. But yesterday I went to get a slice of banana bread and was really disappointed by the size of the banana bread. Every week it is getting smaller, and yesterday it was just ridiculous. If it continues like that I’ll stop coming by.

Sea Salt & Chocolate delivered a red velvet cake to our Hotel for my wife's 40th Birthday. The cake was amazing. Not too sweet and the frosting was perfect. My wife is very specific about frosting, and she said that there was nothing to add to it. We ate the whole cake the same day! We live in Berlin but next time we come, we will visit your cake shop and eat all other cakes! Thank you so much.

Why are cinnamon rolls out more often than available in the last few months? (At both branches) And if they are there sporadically, nowadays you only get 3 licks of cream cheese in the container. While it used to be well filled

Thank you for coming to the rescue late Sunday afternoon for a last minute birthday request! We were able to bring a delicious red velvet cake, serving 12 people instead of the 8-10 they said, plus 2 gluten free options to a restaurant in the neighborhood. Everone loved it and asked me for the name of the cake shop. I later realized this was the place we used to order delivery from after dinner while we were living in Amsterdam during covid, always a slice of carrot cake or red velvet - never disappointed!

Here is such a tartlet they put with us in this cafe🥲it seems that the institution should serve beautiful desserts ... but this is something very sad and definitely not worth its price, the desire to come to the institution a second time has disappeared. besides, there is a terrible smell in the cafe itself… Although the tartlet was super fresh and still warm, it seems it was just cooked, but the appearance suffers a lot

I called the shop, and the employee replied autistically: "My boss told me to do like this." How to ruin a good business with aweful service. And this lady was even trying to convince me.

For the past three years, I’ve always bought cakes from Sea Salt for family events, and I've recommended them to others too. But recently, I ordered a double chocolate cake for a friend’s birthday, and it was a disaster. The frosting tasted like powdered sugar, and the cake was incredibly dry. I called to complain the next day, and they promised to follow up but never did. As a loyal customer, I’m really disappointed with their declining quality and poor service. I can no longer recommend them, and I don't want others to waste their money either.

A must-visit cake shop in Amsterdam! We recently went on a short vacation to Amsterdam and stumbled upon Sea Salt & Chocolate, a delightful cake shop that stays open until 22:00, making it perfect for late-night sweet cravings. On our first visit, we tried the blueberry cheesecake and passionfruit cheesecake, and they were super delicious! We couldn't resist, so we went back the same evening for takeaways. This time, we took their signature salted caramel chocolate cake, carrot pecan cake and some red velvet cookies for our day trip the next day. Everything was absolutely delicious! Remarkably, the cakes were incredibly fresh even in the evening before closing, just as if they were just made. Our love for this place didn't stop there. We visited again the next evening to try their red velvet cake, a coconut cake and another cake I can't remember the name of, but it was just as delicious. Each cake was better than the last, making it hard to choose a favorite. Sea Salt & Chocolate is a gem in Amsterdam and I highly recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth. We will definitely return to try more of their cookies and bread that we couldn't fit into this trip. Five stars all the way!

We were just in Amsterdam, our last stop on a 10 day holiday. Our last day also happened to be my birthday. My fiancé ordered a cake for me ahead of time from Sea Salt and Chocolate to be picked up for a dinner cruise we booked. Long story short, someone in our party made us miss the cruise and we had a pretty miserable night. This cake made up for all of it. This was, without a doubt, the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten. I was so sad that I couldn’t have taken it on the plane home with me the next day. Thank you for a bad day turned wonderful memory.

Ok, let's start from the perspective that this is a cake shop. That's all they do. It's not a steakhouse that does dessert. It's not a place that sidelines in afters. It's all they sell! With that in mind, it's decidedly middle-of-the-road. Not terrible, not fantastic. Not worth the price, sorry! Also, they deliver cakes, right? Again, it's all they deliver. So how have they not found a box that doesn't smush the cakes? Seriously, it's just lazy and a lack of care really.

Very very disappointed! I was influenced, so I really wanted to try it. But it was very disappointing. I picked up caramel chocolate cake & double chocolate. In the double chocolate I found a thick hair, in the top layer of chocolate 🤢. Was my first and last time!

As soon as I stepped in, I was enveloped in the divine smell of baked goodies.. and the cosy ambience inside was a reflection of the warmth of the food and people inside! The red velvet cake (the best one ever is at Sea Salt and Chocolate) was just melt-in-my-mouth goodness, a sizeable portion with the perfect balance of sweetness! Have been fortunate to taste other cakes and cookies here - and definitely plan to be back!

The quality and taste are not unique. We believe that the price-quality ratio is not correct. The staff is very friendly. But unfortunately we won't be coming back here again.

The only thing good about this store was it's smell. Who doesn't love the smell of sugar? Dead energy, horrible dead service. These people did not want to be there not wanted us there. The cakes, subpar tastes worse than AH cake. Could taste the butter on frosting and I shouldn't. As a red velvet and carrot cake fanatic, I strongly suggest you visit De Drie Grafijes. You will never go anywhere else. I only came here because that other place was closed and because of the good reviews. I threw out half of the cake. Don't recommend.
