China Town Dim Sum Rotterdam in Rotterdam Centrum

The food is quite good, especially the porridge, which really brings out the natural sweetness of the rice. The dim sum is also excellent — the fried items are crunchy, and the shrimp inside have a nice, springy texture. However, the fried rice is a bit too oily. The iced tea is average.

Even waiting in the hallway is a treat and definitely worth it.

This restaurant is one of my favs in Rotterdam by far! The dishes are just so Yummy! Also order the hongkong milktea and homemade icetea!

The welcome was rude and unprofessional, and the service made us feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the food was also below expectations — bland, poorly prepared, and not enjoyable at all. When both the service and the food are bad, there is really nothing to save the experience. I would not recommend this place and won’t be coming back.

I visited this restaurant on a weekend evening when it was quite busy. Despite the crowd, we were seated after a short wait, which was nice. The atmosphere was lively. The food wasn't anything special, but certainly not bad.

The fried rice was expensive, but the box was huge; enough for two people. Ah, I think it's okay. The owner's face turned ashen when she heard Chinese. I only saw a smile after I thanked her in Cantonese.

Incredible good food! Authentic dimsum, perfect location, it’s 5 min walk from Rotterdam central station and if you come by car you can park downstairs at the Schouwburgplein parking garage. We always come with the family and yes it can be very busy sometimes but the food is always good. We recommend!

I ordered beef stew and it was served with a spoon in a bowl. How are you supposed to get large chunks of undercooked meat into your mouth with a spoon? I kept chewing but couldn't eat it. Long story short, I wouldn't even give this food to my dog.

A lovely restaurant, within walking distance of Rotterdam Central Station at the beginning of Kruiskade. It's located on a very busy intersection, but easily accessible by public transport! It's a popular restaurant, so booking in advance is recommended. I was invited here for dinner because we had something to celebrate. The food had all been pre-selected and ordered. The restaurant is frequented by the Chinese community, so the food was good and everything tasted fantastic. We had Chinese desserts with all sorts of things and fireworks. The Chinese tea is highly recommended with the meal. The service was very quick, and there was nothing missing in the food and drinks. We still had quite a bit of leftover food, and we were given plastic containers to take it with us, which was a great arrangement. I definitely won't be back! 😁

I heard so many different opinions about this place ,so I decided to check on my own. First of all,you wait quite a while for staff to come. Secondly,I have been waiting for more than 30mintues to get anything amd then another extra time for another dish. Neither the soup,nor dumplings were something to praise about. It was rather average. So I was expecting something nice but I was dissapointed.

A restaurant where people are queuing—we have to try it, we thought. We found the noodles too dry, and just like in the rice dish, there were far too few vegetables; it felt like we were just eating dry noodles. The shrimp spring rolls were good, but the others were too greasy. The overall flavor was bland. The duck wasn't crispy, just greasy and chopped up with bones. Well, maybe that's okay in China, I don't know, but it's not ours. Sorry.

I recently had the displeasure of dining at this restaurant with my children and it was an experience I will not soon forget, for all the wrong reasons. The owner of the establishment was shockingly rude and unwelcoming from the moment we set foot inside. He made it abundantly clear that children were not welcome in his restaurant, with his disdain evident in every interaction. His attitude was so off-putting that we decided to leave before even placing our orders. The way he glared at us and made condescending remarks about our kids was utterly disrespectful and uncalled for. It was clear that he had no interest in providing a pleasant dining experience and seemed to take pleasure in making us feel unwelcome. I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially families with children. The owner's behavior was appalling and completely ruined what should have been a pleasant meal out. Honestly, the taste is there. It's homemade and very good, except for the noodles in the noodle soup, which is a shame. The bowl isn't big, but there's a lot of meat. The price is a bit high, after all, we're not in Paris. Well located. The restaurant also serves very good dim sum!

The food left alot to be desired.....maybe it was because we came as the restaurant was about to close.....but we could not even have more than two table spoons of iur main meal( beef stir fry and vegetable noodles). The dim sum was not too bad.The service and atmosphere was okay.

I visited this restaurant for a light dinner with my partner and had an uncomfortable experience when it came time to pay. Throughout the evening, I noticed staff bringing the bill to other tables and allowing guests to pay from their seats. When we were ready, I let a staff member know, but instead of bringing the bill to us, she asked me to follow her to the counter to pay. I found this confusing, especially since I saw other guests, including those seated near us, being allowed to pay at their tables. One couple next to us and another table in front (who appeared to be Dutch) were all given the option to pay without getting up. I don’t mind paying at the counter, but it felt uncomfortable and a bit discriminatory to be treated differently without explanation. I’m Taiwanese, and I couldn’t help but wonder if our background played a role in this inconsistency. I hope this wasn’t the case, but I wanted to share this experience in case it reflects a broader issue. Ps. My table is #20 and we left at around 6:10 pm

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE！！！ I and my girlfriend were waiting in the very front of the waiting line, a mid age Asian guy (I believe he should be their manager) simply AVOIDED having eye contact with us, and just started asking people RIGHT BEHIND us : " Hoe veel mensen? " (How many people are you ?) You're an Asian yourself, and you're a racist against your own race, or what ??? Or... he doesn't like any Asian guy who is 188cm tall, and look like a Kpop star?!

They have delicious dim sum (a lot of choicesof dim sum), yang chow fried rice, and fish cake. The restaurant was full at that moment but they have extra tables on second floor. Definitely will back there.

Very busy full table by the window, fast service very tasty food

Me and my friend came here for our dinner. We were seated at around 9:15pm. We got our table and were told to write our orders out ourselves on a slip of paper. We were then later told that half the menu was unavailable because kitchen was closing. Issue number one. We were fine with ordering from the selection left so it wasn’t too much of an issue. We then ordered and came out within 15-20 minutes. Halfway through we were made to pay our bill as they were shutting completely but we were told it was fine to eat. Why allow us to come in to then basically and essentially rush us out. It very much felt like we were being rushed out and they just saw dollar signs. The food was bland and tasteless. Very disappointed and will not be here again.

As a native Chinese who speaks Cantonese, this place is truly authentic!! I felt transported back to Hong Kong and the dim sums were simply brilliantly made.

I had ordered 3 portions of lemon chicken, bami + pork belly and bami + chicken to take away. Once I got home I had received 2 portions of lemon chicken instead of 3. In the portion there were fried flies on it (you could clearly see the body and wings of the flies). I had taken a picture of it and the next day I went by to show it. To my great surprise I was told that they were fried onions🤨 and of the 107 euros that I had paid I did not get anything back because the chef thought that I was entitled to a portion of lemon chicken or a voucher worth the lemon chicken. Well I think this is scandalous. Customer friendliness is hard to find here. Never again

Had an unexpected meal here. Not the menu we are used to, but what we saw looked excellent and authentically Chinese. Well visited by Chinese, so that says something about the quality. We chose and enjoyed the Singapore fried noodles. Service is very attentive!

Authentic Cantonese dim sum restaurant. You can speak Chinese here. The servers were not warm but we got what we wanted so I have nothing to complain about. Food is on the sweeter side, which is typical Cantonese. We ordered several dim sum and liked most of them.

Had a delicious meal at China Town in Rotterdam at the beginning of the Asian district, close to the center of Rotterdam. It starts at 12 noon and the doors are not opened until then.

I left a great review here 5 years ago. I hadn’t been back to this restaurant for a few years and it has dropped significantly. The quality of the food is worse (my dumplings did not taste fresh) but the worst part was the service. I literally don’t think I’ve ever seen a group of waitstaff so angry at their customers before. I wouldn’t go back and don’t recommend it.

The service is very bad. You are not communicated with. You look at the boy with glasses grumpily all day long. If you ask something he won't give you an answer. He runs away when you need help. Really bad. It's that the food was tasty otherwise I would never come again.

Unfortunately, the most disappointing part of the meal was the chrysanthemum and monk fruit tea. When all the dishes were delivered, we asked the waitess about our chrysanthemum and monk fruit tea. She admitted that she had forgotten to prepare it and she quickly went to the pantry to make the tea and brought it to our table. After taking our first sip, we realized that the tea only had the flavor of chrysanthemum. When we opened the lid of the teapot, we saw that it contained only chrysanthemum, with no monk fruit at all. When it was time to pay the bill, we asked the waitess if this was indeed chrysanthemum and monk fruit tea. She confirmed that it was. We explained that this was not the tea we expected, and she suggested that we speak with the manager about it, which we agreed to do. When the manager arrived, we opened the lid of the teapot and again asked if this was chrysanthemum and monk fruit tea. She acknowledged that her colleague had forgotten to add the monk fruit. I asked if the price should be different as the monk fruit was missing, but she insisted that chrysanthemum tea and chrysanthemum and monk fruit tea are the same price. Her attitude throughout the conversation was extremely unpleasant, and did not provide any remedy. When the manager arrived, we immediately opened the tea lid and asked if this was chrysanthemum and monk fruit tea. He said that his colleague must have forgotten to put the monk fruit. I repeatedly asked if the price should be different. He said that chrysanthemum tea and chrysanthemum and monk fruit tea were also the same price. The whole conversation did not feel humility at all, he did not provide any remedial measures, and his attitude was very bad. This was my most unpleasant dining experience with Chinese food in the Netherlands.

However, a young male employee with glasses seemed to lack enthusiasm. Although he was doing his job, his facial expression gave the impression he wasn't interested. A slightly more positive attitude would have made the experience even better.

I've been going to Chinatown for over 15 years, even when they were still in the building where Takumi is now. I've eaten a lot of dim sum all over the Netherlands, but none can match this one. By far the best flavor of all their dishes. The service has also been gruff but fast for as long as I've been going, and they work really hard during peak hours. If you're aware of that, you're less bothered by it, but I can imagine it can sometimes put people off. We go there about once a month. Delicious!

It seems to be a popular restaurant. The Xiaolongbao and shumai are excellent. The hot and sour soup is not too spicy and has a deep flavor that is delicious. I wouldn't come to Rotterdam just for this restaurant, but if I ever come to Rotterdam, the food was so good I would definitely return. The service was authentic Chinese (lol)

We recently went to your restaurant and were asked to write down what we wanted when ordering. I wrote "Iced L Tea X Sweet", meaning iced lemon tea without sugar, but probably because of my handwriting, the waiter misunderstood that I ordered "Iced Lemon Tea X2", and ended up serving two cups of lemon tea. I explained to her that we only ordered one cup, but she seemed unhappy with my handwriting and accused me of writing as if I wanted to order two cups, which made us feel unhappy. When we checked out, we found that we were charged for two cups of lemon tea. I told her again that we only ordered one cup, but she still accused me of my handwriting. She seemed very angry and complained to her colleagues in the kitchen. We paid the bill and asked for an invoice, but she ignored us and stormed back to the kitchen. We are not here to complain, but we hope that your restaurant can improve its service, which is good for both customers and the restaurant. If employees have questions about the customer's writing, they should take the initiative to ask, instead of blaming the customer. If the restaurant finds that there is an error, it should help the customer solve the problem instead of continuing to argue. I hope your restaurant can provide better service in the future and wish you a prosperous business! Onlangs hebben we bij uw restaurant gegeten en moesten we opschrijven wat we wilden bestellen. Ik schreef "frozen L tea Geschreven, waardoor ze ons twee glazen limonade bracht. Ik legde uit dat we maar één glas wilden, maar ze was boos en gaf aan dat mijn handschrift leek op "twee glazen". Toen we de rekening bekeken, merkten we dat ze per ongeluk twee glazen limonade in rekening had gebracht. We vertelden haar Nogmaals dat we maar één glas hadden, maar ze bleef aandringen dat het aan mijn handschrift lag. Ze was boos en bleef achter de keuken klagen. We willen niet klagen, maar we hopen dat het restaurant de service kan verbeteren, wat zowel voor de klanten als voor het restaurant gunstig zou zijn. Als er een fout wordt gemaakt, zou het restaurant in klant moeten helpen in plaats van situatie te verergeren. We hope het restaurant in toekomst beter zal kunnen dienen en wensen veel succes!

Had lunch here today without much expectation. The restaurant was very busy and the crowd was mainly Chinese, which is always a good thing. They have an extensive menu with dim sum, pastries, dumplings, as well as noodles and rice. Service is quick, but the service could be friendlier. They bring out the dishes without any explanation or words. Oh well, that's just how it is in China. The food was delicious, although the pastry dough was a bit too thick, but it was quite tasty. Highly recommended!

A very typical Restaurant like I know from China. The food is also authentic. The orderprocess is with a paper and numbers, and food comes fast. I would recommand to book a table. Taste of food is very good. Prices are moderate and reasonable. Also the location inside Chinatown give a feeling of holiday.

Service was smooth and friendly. There was a long wait, but the turnaround time was fast and the organization was excellent, so you knew you'd be served as soon as possible. The rice pancakes with duck were fantastic, the crab and corn soup was good, the duck soup was also delicious, and the cha siew steamed buns were delicious. The Szechuan mix of squid, duck, and pork was disappointing: no squid (forgotten? Gone?), and the duck wings contained only 1 gram of meat per wing. The pork was two-thirds of the dish and consisted of strips of pig's ear: you have to like cartilage to eat it. Not a problem per se (tastes differ), but upon returning home, we both had stomach and intestinal problems: nausea and diarrhea. Apparently, we had eaten something contaminated with bacteria after all? What a shame.

The very best Chinese I know (I dare say I am used to a lot). Duck with jellyfish (as strange as it may sound) was delicious, foo nam (pork belly) deliciously light crispy, various dimsums, deliciously fresh. If you are in the area (or want to drive for it), I say GO!

In my opinion the best dim sum restaurant in Rotterdam at the moment. Food is good, the prices are reasonable and it’s clean!

If you want to eat Dim Sum for the first time, don’t go there! It doesn’t taste good.

As someone who travels a lot to eat, that was one of the worst treatment I’ve ever experienced. They got our order wrong twice, forgot to bring a plate than tried to blame it on us when really if they just were cautious nothing would’ve happen. They were really indifferent. It’s really too bad because the food was good. But the experience horrible. Wouldn’t recommend, it was stressful trying to explain. Hope they’ll do better.
