Ended up at this restaurant via The Fork. Beautifully decorated. Super friendly staff and a surprisingly good steak. Compliments to the chef who prepared this tenderloin so deliciously! We'll definitely be back!

While the people were friendly and helpful, the food is incredibly simple. Its so noticable that it's not fresh food. It feels like they have pre packed food, get it out of the freezer, heat it up and done. Some of the dishes we got serves, were still cold also. It's just not worth the experience in my opinion. But other than that, cute location. A little bit noisy.

Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The food arrived far too late and was also cold. To make matters worse, we also found a hair among the mushrooms. We had asked for the mushrooms to be omitted, but that wasn't done. Furthermore, we were told the mushrooms would be removed from the receipt. Yet, at the cash register, they still appeared on the bill, so I had to point out myself: "Surely this wasn't included in the bill?" After dinner, we ordered two drinks, but they never arrived. To our surprise, they were on the bill, and I had to point them out myself. We hadn't had these kinds of problems on a previous visit, but this second time was downright terrible. No compensation, poor follow-up, and errors on the bill. It's a shame, but we won't be returning.

We had a fantastic meal here! On Tuesday evening, we enjoyed the shared dining concept, where a three-course meal was prepared for us. The dishes were plentiful, very tasty, and beautifully presented. The team was incredibly friendly and reassured us that everything is prepared halal. We will definitely be back soon!

Not a nice place to eat, food took a very long time.

Heerlijk gegeten, vriendelijke personeel. Wij kwamen zonder te reserveren, de keuken sloot bijna. Maar nog alles kunnen bestellen wat we wilden. Zeker nog een keer langs komen! En voor iedereen aan te raden.

Not terrible but way overpriced

For my birthday I had dinner at Restaurant Joja, and it was truly an amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, everything felt warm and welcoming. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, a truly great team! What I especially appreciated was that they took the fact that I am pregnant into account perfectly. No detail was overlooked. They made special adjustments to the dishes and made sure that I felt completely at ease. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and I felt truly pampered. Thank you Joja for an unforgettable evening! 💛 I will definitely be back.

Restaurant Joya is located in a beautiful location and looks atmospheric and stylish on the inside - a place where you have high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. To start with, the portions were shockingly small, especially considering the hefty prices you pay for it. Although you expect refinement, we came away disappointed by the limited amount on the plate. And if that wasn't enough, the staff was not very helpful and showed little enthusiasm. It almost felt like our presence was not appreciated, which really affected the atmosphere of our evening. Fortunately, the cocktails were good and tasty, which was a small plus to the evening. But unfortunately, they do not make up for the total experience. For us, Joya is therefore not a place we will return to and also not recommended for others who are looking for a nice dining experience in Rotterdam.

Rather disappointing visit to Joya. Despite the cozy setting and the atmospheric background music, the positive first impression was quickly over. For some reason, the ground floor was closed off and you could only sit on the upper floor where it was considerably warmer. The service was friendly but there was little or no agreement with the kitchen staff. For example, the bread and the 'bites' were served while I still had to wait 10 minutes for the aperitif. As for the food, there was also not much to be happy about: the olives were literally swimming in oil and the fat dripped from every bite of the 'Joya' burger. The tuna tataki and the crème brûlée were tasty. Despite the fact that there are a few children's dishes on the menu, the desserts (cheesecake, tiramisu or crème brûlée) are not very child-friendly. For example, a simple scoop of ice cream for our son was not possible...

From Ghent all the way to Rotterdam to end my city trip in this restaurant — and what a great ending it was! We were immediately welcomed very warmly. Even though my girlfriend and I arrived 15 minutes late, that was no problem at all. The woman who received us was friendly, calm and sweet, which made us feel at ease right away. When ordering, she gave extra explanation and helped us make our choice. We chose the menu — and it was delicious and filling! Although I am normally not a fan of red meat, I found the tenderloin surprisingly tasty. I really enjoyed it. The side dishes and dessert were also delicious. I still dream of the crème brûlée! It was a great experience and I recommend the restaurant to everyone!

Last Saturday my wife and I visited your restaurant for the first time. We were seated on the first floor, which was very busy, but nevertheless had a very pleasant atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, which immediately made our experience very positive. The food was excellent, with the tenderloin steak as the highlight. The dessert – the crème brûlée with passion fruit – was also highly recommended. What made our visit extra special was the lady serving. Despite the crowds, she remained friendly, cheerful and chatted with everyone throughout the evening. Her hospitality made our evening even more enjoyable. In short: it was a visit that was more than worth it. We highly recommend your restaurant and will definitely come back. Thanks again for the great service!

Afgelopen zaterdag hebben mijn vrouw en ik voor het eerst een bezoek gebracht aan uw restaurant. We zaten op de eerste etage, waar het erg druk was, maar desondanks hing er een bijzonder gezellige sfeer. We werden hartelijk ontvangen door het personeel, wat onze ervaring meteen zeer positief maakte. Het eten was voortreffelijk, met als hoogtepunt de ossenhaassteak. Ook het dessert – de crème brûlée met passievrucht – was een echte aanrader. Wat ons bezoek extra bijzonder maakte, was de dame in de bediening. Ondanks de drukte bleef zij de hele avond vriendelijk, opgewekt en maakte zij met iedereen een praatje. Haar gastvrijheid heeft onze avond nog aangenamer gemaakt. Kortom: het was een bezoek dat de moeite meer dan waard was. Wij raden uw restaurant van harte aan en komen zeker nog eens terug. Nogmaals dank voor de geweldige service!

Thought it was a simple menu, especially for the price. It was super warm inside and the service wasn't great. Had to wait a long time for drinks to be taken again. The food was cold and for the price you can definitely eat better elsewhere. I won't be going back anyway. I also thought it looked a bit lackluster even though they had done their best. The chairs weren't comfortable either.

The service was downright bad: staff was stressed, unfriendly and not at all attentive. We had to wait forever for everything: drinks, food, even just someone to take our order. And then the food… ridiculously small portions for absurd prices. What came to the table was bland, uninspired and amateurishly prepared. The meat was dry and tasteless. We will never come back here — and advise everyone not to. A real shame.

Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is niet goed. Voor 79 euro meat-platter verwachte ik meer dan dat we kregen. De lamp chops waren te rood van binnen, rib-eye teveel vet en proefde niet vers. Ossenhaas was wel prima. Carpaccio was taai. Jammer dat in de prijs geen rijst/patat/salade inbegrepen is, dit zou het nog enigszins recht kunnen trekken. Maar helaas, ik zou het niet aanraden.

A restaurant in a nice location on the Nieuwe Maas. Staff is friendly and the cocktails are good. And those were the positive points… After 2 hours of waiting, the medium and medium-well ordered meat dishes arrived. However, everything was cooked so thoroughly that salmonella and campylobacter were certainly prevented. Nevertheless, the black carbon that came off will do its job in the long term. We therefore left the meat alone, no matter how little it was (certainly not the stated volumes). For €350 worth of food for 5 people, you can expect the meat to be good. This wasn't it at all. After mentioning, no alternative was offered. Advice: next to Joya there are Humphrey's and Loetje, choose one if you want a good piece of meat, we ended up here to eat the main courses

We had to wait a super long time for service and for our food, it's ridiculous! We had to wait a total of 2.5 to 3 hours for food and when it arrived the meat was inedible!! It was rock and hard!! When we brought this up they said we were the only ones they had ever heard of this from. So nothing was done with our complaint! I never leave reviews anywhere but this was such a bad experience! All in all it was a very bad experience, so bad that we had to eat at another restaurant next door! We will never come back or recommend this to anyone!

Shared dining people! I cannot recommend it enough!

Eten was koud bij het serveren, glazen waren vies toen we ze kregen, tafels en stoelen zijn niet stevig en lijken niet goed vast te zitten/gemonteerd en vind het duur voor wat je krijgt. Personeel is een beetje afwezig en meer bezig met elkaar dan het werk. Hoop dat ze het lezen en er iets mee willen doen voor de volgende klanten, bedoel het niet slecht maar is gewoon een eerlijke feedback.

Impeccable service, but the meal really wasn't great.

Decided to have dinner with a friend tonight. It was quite quiet for a Friday evening. Food was quite good but got cold quickly because it was cold in the restaurant. Not many staff to be seen and through eye contact with the chef someone was eventually sent to our table. You had to ask for drinks yourself, but it always took a long time because there were no staff around. Finally, after the main course and removing the empty crockery, we had to wait another hour for our dessert. We ordered a cheesecake and would also like a capuchinno with it. Unfortunately, we also had to go to the bar ourselves to order the coffee. To be honest, I have never experienced someone not asking me between courses if I wanted something to drink. The glasses were visibly empty. Too bad I had eaten there a few times before and was very satisfied, but it has clearly deteriorated. So a little disappointed.

Echt een vreselijke ervaring. Toen ons eten op tafel kwam, was het echt koud. Het is niet van onze gewoonte maar we hebben het toch terug gegeven. Vervolgens hebben we een uur gewacht tot ons eten terug op tafel kwam. De bijgerechten kwamen vervolgens ook 10 minuten later, waardoor de rest van het eten ook alweer bijna koud was. Het vlees was kwalitatief en goed van smaak maar dat is dan ook het enige positieve wat we konden zeggen...

This was my worst restaurant experience of my life (also my friend's). Side dishes came first (fries and edame beans). An hour later bread (without the olives that should have come), half an hour later starter and then main course (without fries or something like that). There wasn't much like mushrooms and pinot grigio. The salmon was raw, the tenderloin was tough and well done. All the tables around us were dissatisfied and some didn't even want to pay the receipt (neither did we, but we did). I have no idea what went wrong with you this evening, but it really wasn't good. We won't be back again.

Binnenkomst prima. Even drinken besteld maar de meneer nam dus alleen mijn bestelling op en liep gelijk weg.. sloeg de dame over. Meer dan 35 minuten gewacht tot iemand iets kwam opnemen maar geen enkele intresse tot dat ene moment na die 40 minuten wachten. Helaas maar weggegaan want nog weinig vertouwen in. Ik had beter verwacht zeker in de week van valentijn. Als je geen personeel hebt moet je ook niet open gaan!!

We had good expectations of this restaurant. The starters were tasty. But the main courses were cold. Tasteless. And incredibly, they took the service out of the gym. These guys don't know how things work in the catering industry. Really unsympathetic. So not worth repeating

The evening started at a table that the employees had to constantly pass, which meant that my wife had to move her chair every time. This was downright uncomfortable. Eventually we got another table and were offered a coffee on the house. That coffee? Never seen. When our first dishes arrived, the disappointment really started. The sticky chicken wasn't sticky at all – more of a soggy one, as if it came out of the microwave. The Iberico ribs were tough and bland; we left them at half. The nachos were downright miserable, with a watery salsa that turned everything into a soggy mess. Only the chicken pops were good, but that was the only bright spot in an otherwise lousy dinner. During the second round we were not exactly surprised. The hamburger sliders were decent, but the patatas bravas tasted like they came straight out of a microwave, with a dull texture and little flavor. For a restaurant that charges such prices, you don't expect dishes that feel like cheap ready-made food. Finally, the dessert was fortunately good, but that did not outweigh the rest of the evening. The food was downright disappointing and completely out of proportion to the price. This is definitely not what you hope for from a night out for dinner. I advise you to take a serious look at the quality of the food and experience you provide. This was certainly not worth repeating for us.

It takes a really long time before you are contacted to place the order. Had to wait 1.5 hours and super bad service. Fortunately, Angel helped us a lot afterwards. The music was so loud that everyone at the table didn't even hear each other. We asked if it could be quieter, but then we received the response that the song was not fun to listen to... When paying, most things were also incorrect and had to be adjusted each time. Don't recommend it to anyone.

Went for dinner on Saturday with a family of 2 adults and kids aged 12 and 9. What a taste sensation. Shared dining with all kinds of different dishes. All equally tasty. Very nice atmosphere with fantastic service. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a nice pleasant evening.

Gekozen om alleen te ‘sharen’ lekkere kip, spareribs zonder bot, mini sliders, frietjes, lava cake. Cocktails prima. Alles bij elkaar voor 2 personen €122 incl 3 cocktails en 2 biertjes. We wait 40 minutes for the starter and the kid menu , and the meat of the children come COLD , i ask for bread and 20 minutes later i not see the bread . Thé restaurant isnt fool but the lazy kitchen look like . When YOU have a big price YOU have to have a good service . I came from France and its a very Bad experience . Never again.

Very bad experience. More than 1 hour of waiting to get a starter and bread priced at 7 euros. We ordered a children's menu which we received cold with a 1 hour wait as well. We asked for it hot and we got it for 4 euros. After an hour and a half of waiting we no longer had the choice to get up and leave. We got the bill for our 3 starters and 3 cocktails for 115 euros. In the end we left with empty stomachs and wallets. We complained and one of the waiters told us to speak less loudly. This kind of beautiful and chic restaurant with quite expensive prices is unacceptable. The service was not up to date.

Een avondje JOYA is precies wat je nodig hebt als je op zoek bent naar een relaxte sfeer zonder in te boeten op kwaliteit. Het interieur straalt een casual vibe uit, maar de aandacht voor detail in zowel het eten als de service is merkbaar. De gerechten zijn goed doordacht, zonder overdreven tierlantijntjes. Alles smaakt vers en is met zorg bereid. De bediening is vriendelijk, niet te formeel, en je voelt je meteen welkom. Een aanrader voor wie houdt van een ontspannen avondje uit eten met een twist. JOYA weet hoe je goed eten serveert zonder dat het stijf wordt. Zeker een plek om vaker terug te komen!

Diagonally opposite where top chef Herman den Blijker used to have his restaurant (las Palmas). On TV he was a pleasant appearance together with "Reijmpie" Mr. Reijmers. He always said that after serving a course, something to drink could also be served. Unfortunately that was missing and costs points. The food was passable, but the dessert was incomplete. The banana and Bolleke ice cream were missing from the lava cake. There was a sewage smell in the toilets. Final grade just 6.5 Could have been much more.

We really enjoyed the look of the establishment. However It was a bit crowded and very loud, the tables were pushed closer to eachother to accomodate more customers. It's not a romantic little place for a date, but it's okay for a fun dining experience with a friend. Bit overpriced, let's be realistic. 😂 The charming waiter gave himself a tip on the register machine but he gets a pass, this time.

My evening at Restaurant Joya was a culinary experience from start to finish. Upon entering we were warmly welcomed and immediately led to a cozy table. The ambiance is modern and attractive, with a perfect balance between chic and relaxed. The menu offered unique dishes that beautifully combined Asian and European flavors. Every dish was beautiful, full of flavor and careful presentation. The staff was incredibly attentive and provided good explanations for each course, including perfect wine suggestions. Really disappointing experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was dull and unwelcoming. The food was not good, and the waiting time was way too long. In addition, when paying, the waiter was busy on Tinder and allowed himself to add a tip without our agreement. I strongly advise against this restaurant, really not a good experience!

It took wayyy to long for the food we waited more than half an hour to get are food and we reserved places but had to switch places because some other guys who reserved didnt have enough room to sit next to eachother so that was very weird and unproffesional so im mad already but overall we waited 3 hours which is insane btw and our dessert got lost and some food was forgotten so we had to wait and wait, but overall a good time with my family

Had dinner at Joya in Rotterdam last Friday. Although the restaurant looked cozy upon entering, the atmosphere was mediocre in the end. The service was disinterested and unfriendly. The food was hit and miss; some dishes were cold and seemed only reheated, although the flavors themselves were fine. In addition, the price/quality ratio was not in balance. All in all, we had a nice evening with company, but the restaurant was disappointing due to the mediocre atmosphere, poor service and unbalanced price.

An attractively decorated restaurant with friendly staff. We were on the top floor with (still) a beautiful view. (Construction is underway.) The bread with aioli in advance is delicious. The carpaccio with truffle and the vitello tonnato also tasted very good. We opted for shared dining and chose different dishes. Everything is presented very nicely and tastes good. We finished with white chocolate cheesecake and tiramisu. The first was delicious. The tiramisu also tasted good, but was very thin. (The sauce) As it got busier, it took a little longer before someone came to the table. (Also logical in itself.) Unfortunately, the soap pump and towel machine in the ladies' toilet did not work. In retrospect, maybe I should have passed this on. In any case, we had a very nice evening and a delicious meal.

First time and also last time. Atmosphere is not wow, food could really be much better, everything had to be communicated immediately so if you would like to eat your starter first and then main meal afterwards, this is not possible. Service was quite quick with everything delivered. The icing on the cake, we had a group of mice that just walked around between the tables. We said this to the service but it was not affected much. Afterwards we had to have dessert, which we no longer felt like having after such a visit from a mouse. so I didn't eat it either but had to pay for it :D would I recommend it to others? No. But everyone has their choice.

We stumbled upon this local hoping for some good food. The staff was very unfriendly and very stressed, questions were answered very unfriendly and annoyed. We waited more than an hour for our food and it was served cold and an order was only served after we had finished it was very rude and simply slapped away. We didn't like it at all. We advise against entering the room.
