Ekmekci Alexandrium in Prins Alexander

Unfortunately, a less than good experience. The salad we ordered was unfortunately not to our liking (tastes differ). It looked tasty at first glance. The "chicken piri piri" was overpowering; the plate was full of meat and, unfortunately, very little salad. Because the meat was too dominant, it was too salty, and the bottom of the plate was covered in sauce and oil. Consequently, the salad was too watery. I am still having stomach trouble because of this, hence the post.

Had a lovely lunch break! Had a tasty meal instead of a cheese sandwich. They were also quick to serve, so I was back at work right on time.

The gözleme (Turkish flatbread) was delicious, and the staff were very attentive; we were very pleased.

I visit very often, and my favourite has always been the Mr. Green. I got the same today and my friend ordered a sandwich with pesto. The first issue was the presentation; the sandwich was a chicken one and the Mr Green was slightly burned and sliced horrible. It looked like it was just thrown in the box. The taste of the Mr Green was terrible compared to how it was just a week ago. It was mostly dough with an uneven thin spread of ingredients. The biggest issue was that after eating this, both me and my friend got terrible stomach aches. This was really disappointing.

We arrived on Saturday at 18:20 and were told that we were no longer allowed to eat inside but could only get takeout. Online it says they are open for dining until 19:00. We wanted 2 Lamachun chicken doner kebabs and a pineapple juice. The pineapple juice could only be taken away without the lid. So we decided against that. Unfortunately, the order was not handed over correctly. The sauces we ordered were missing, while the ones we didn't want were included. Very disappointing!

Extremely dry kapsalon, little sauce, soggy fries, no flavor. An hour later it came back up the other end, sat with a stomach ache all evening.

Children work there in the morning; the customer service is totally unfriendly. After waiting for 20 minutes, a half-asleep waiter came over to ask what I wanted. The food tasted cold and not fresh, and the cutlery was not properly clean. UPDATE Unfortunately, my experience aligns with the many similar reviews: the ingredients seemed anything but fresh. It is a shame that you are dismissing this feedback instead of seriously investigating the criticism. I have since filed a report with the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) requesting that they inspect food safety and hygiene within your establishment. I hope that you will take these signals seriously in the future and actually do something about them. Additionally, it would be good to provide your untrained staff with training in proper customer service. You could better invest your time and energy in that than in dismissing negative reviews :)

I ordered food yesterday via their own website. I called because I saw it was for takeaway and was worried whether it would actually arrive. She said it was on its way. She is waiting for a delivery person. After 1.5 hours, still nothing. Called again for my money back. Received nothing after waiting a day. Very poor service.

It is getting worse and worse. The last time I wanted to eat, they said they were closed while everyone was still sitting inside eating. They had an hour left to close. The employee indicated that there was no staff and that is why they were closing an hour early. The week before that, I wanted to have breakfast (at 9:30); everything was already gone, even simit, just what you are supposed to get for breakfast. Today I made one last attempt to eat at Ekmekci instead of La Place. The cucumber was rotten, the tomato was very old, and the egg was inedible. You can't even make contact with the staff. The music was playing abnormally loud. This was also the last time I came to eat here.

Nice, nice, nice! I love new and different things, especially when it comes to food. This beautifully decorated restaurant is located right in the middle of the Alexandrium. I’ve been here twice with my mother for lunch while we were shopping. I have no idea what else they serve. The service is top-notch, the food is delicious, and sometimes it’s a real discovery. I think they are very smart with what they serve: for example, you get the chicken in your salad OR on a bun. It saves a lot of waste, and serving is therefore very quick and efficient. That will be necessary, considering the number of office workers and business people who come in for a quick bite during their lunch break. So, well thought-out. You should definitely go check it out. The ambiance alone is worth a visit. No time? At the front of the restaurant, there is a counter where you can take sandwiches or other snacks "to go." Keep up the good work, ladies and gentlemen!

I was waiting for a really long time to place an order, the waiter was rude and made a mistake with the order, the waiter was a teenage girl so well I can still overlook it, but unfortunately I did receive the wrong order, though the waiter who brought it was friendly.

Lunch Chickenacado and Macha Latte ordered via the QR code on the Table. This was because no one came to take my order after 10 minutes. I was seated opposite the kitchen and serving counter. The Macha Latte was placed on my table, including a tray on which a sugar sachet, milk, and a cookie were lying loose. I was also told that my salad was on its way. After 15 minutes, a lady came to ask me if the Macha Latte was mine. I confirmed it but didn't understand the tray. She gave me a new hot Macha Latte and went to the kitchen to say my salad needed to come. A cook called something back. He came by and said "2 minutes." After 10 minutes, the salad arrived. Cold, as it should be, but with warm chicken pieces in it. All in all, I waited 45 minutes for food, drinks placed on the table tray and all, no apologies in between, "2 minutes is 10 minutes," "chicken in salad is warm," no apology or compensation after the meal. Upon leaving, I wished them a pleasant day, no response. Very poor!

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience. The service was really poor. The young girl working was constantly on her phone and paid hardly any attention to the customers. We asked for our börek several times, but it was only brought after we had already finished our food. The service was very slow and the staff was uninvolved. Definitely not recommended.

By 11:00 AM, eggs were already no longer an option. They close and clean up way too early. In Alexander, it was already impossible to enter at 5:45 PM, even though they close at 7:00 PM. Every good business gets worse over time. It used to be much better. I'm not going there anymore.

Every time I come to eat here, I find hair in my food. I find it very unhygienic here, and that is evident from all the reviews. Recently, I also ordered breakfast here, and everything was cold and hard. The egg was way overcooked. This is truly a disgrace for the Turkish restaurants here.

Delicious authentic Turkish gozleme, great service!

If you come here within an hour of opening time, breakfast is often already sold out. Apparently, after 10 o'clock they just don't want to sell breakfast anymore. I always find that very disappointing, because the food is actually quite good.

The place seems very nice, but once you enter, appearances are definitely shattered. Tables are often left with dirty dishes. The staff is definitely untrained, paying more attention to their coworkers than to the guests. The food is very mediocre. We waited a very long time for our orders, and each person received their dishes at different times because some dishes were forgotten and only after we intervened were they moved. This is not the first time this has happened, so I definitely don't recommend this place and I certainly won't be going back.

I understand that prices are going up due to inflation, but you do expect the quality to remain the same. Here, the quality has deteriorated enormously. Hard fries in the gözleme kapsalon, only 3 pieces of döner on the kumpir, and fries fried in old frying oil making them taste very greasy. It just disgusts me. Every time I gave it another chance, but now it's really over. Never again Ekmekci for me 🤢🤢

I am one to leave honest reviews and even if staff make errors, I can easily look past it. I came for a takeaway order and I literally witnessed a staff member making a sandwich and taking a piece of meat out of the sandwich and eat it. Then they added some lettuce on top of it and handed it to a customer. No gloves were used. This was only one staff member, all others seemed professional and did wear gloves. The food itself was good though!

Very polite and always smiling staff 😊 And today (3/5/26 Sunday), there is a wonderful lady working who made the experience even better! Everything was delicious: even the jam. Highly recommended for a quick stop while shopping or a relaxed Sunday brunch, an authentic experience… The only small downside: with the coffee they serve Dutch Biscoff cookies, which feels a bit out of place 🙂 It would be much nicer if they offered something more traditional, like lokum or a similar treat. But we solved it with baklava 😉 last but not least: Turkish tea is served in large glasses i: it would be even better if it came in traditional Turkish tea glasses for a more authentic touch.

Hi, we have always been satisfied, but this is already the second time we are very dissatisfied with the service and the food. 1. Gözleme without onion but received with onion 2. Kumpir with döner, where the döner was cold and inedible, and we had ordered 3 after waiting 10 minutes, received 2. 3. Had a drink on the table and it fell because the lady wanted to put the food on the table and her hand hit it, and I asked for a new one but she had to pay for both.

I came to have lunch here at Ekmekci today and ended up waiting 45 minutes for my order. When it finally arrived, it was smaller than expected and part of the cheese was burnt. The service wasn’t good — they probably lost my order, and I had to keep asking for it to be handled. I wouldn’t recommend it anymore. It used to be better.

What made our visit truly special was the service. We were received incredibly warmly and helped well. In particular, we would like to thank Albena for her hospitality and the smile with which she served us. You really feel welcome here. Definitely recommended if you are in the area. Wonderful experience at Ekmekci! Everything was super fresh and full of flavor – you can really taste the quality. Never been there before, but definitely worth a return visit! I had the Lion King Gözleme and my wife had the classic Turkish pizza. Both were well-seasoned and delicious. The service is very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed. We will definitely be coming here more often!

They have gotten even worse. It started with little to no service. I asked for cutlery multiple times, but they never came back, while our food was left to rot. In the end, I just ate with my hands. Also, there was no or barely any sauce on the kapsalon. I had to ask for extra every time. Disappointing, but I can still overlook it. But what happened to me last week is unacceptable. I went there for dinner with my family and ordered a Turkish pizza. To my horror, I bit into a large piece of raw chicken. It wasn't half raw, but completely raw, as if it had just come out of the fridge. Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit again. What a traumatic experience!!!!! And their solution for this trauma is to put the money for the pizza on the table. Do you think those few euros make up for this? I was speechless. We left all the food just like that and left. I really couldn't sit there anymore. We are never going back.

Vandaag bij Rotterdam Alexandrium door de drive through geweest. Het was best druk en we hebben lang moeten wachten. Toen we aankwamen bij het moment waar je je order moest doorgeven, zeiden we meerdere malen "hallo??", maar het bleef stil door de speakers. We stonden er een tijdje en reden toen door naar het raampje in de hoop daar de bestelling te kunnen doen. De auto die voor ons stond, had blijkbaar hetzelfde probleem, en we hoorden dat de medewerker zei dat hij maar weer opnieuw moest gaan aansluiten. Toen reed de auto voor ons weg en kwam (terecht) niet meer terug. Toen wij aan de beurt waren zei de medewerker tegen ons hetzelfde. Hij probeerde ons een beetje de schuld in de schoenen te schuiven door te zeggen dat we niet gepraat hadden bij de speaker en dat we te snel aansloten. Een niksnut verhaal want er hangen ook gewoon camera's? Maar daar zei hij niks op. Het leek alsof hij gewoon geen zin had in zijn werk en wilde ons niet verder helpen (deed heel onverschillig). We zijn maar met hongerige maag weggereden want we zijn niet gek genoeg dat we weer zo lang in de rij gaan aansluiten en dat het dalijk weer niet werkt. Wat een slechte service!

For a busy city, of course also a busy restaurant. All tables were full. The food was delicious again, with delicious Ayran from Silifke. Collection also possible. The music played is also well chosen. 🎶

The service is good, but I think the people in the kitchen are not professional. We ate an extremely greasy and burnt dürüm. It would be better if the breakfast menu was available longer.

Half of the dining area is closed off because they can't handle the crowds. After so many years, you should know by now what the demand is on a Sunday. In addition, much of the menu is not available. ALL kumpirs and some gozlemes. Respond to demand.

Ordered food tonight via Uber Eats. A Gözleme spinach chicken and a portion of chicken nuggets. I can recommend the Gözleme spinach chicken to everyone! Very tasty, full of flavor and a nice portion. And it is healthier than a Turkish pizza, for example👀. The nuggets are particularly crispy and airy. Hence a big 5 stars!

Not as tasty as eckmeki Zuidplein The tuna is very watery and the gozleme is not crispy either. Shame! Quality of the food is important to me. And unfortunately it isn't. Gozleme Flame On. Good spicy, jalapenos. Not very spectacular, tastes mainly of cheese and dough and gives the feeling of fast food. Jasmine tea is very nice to dampen the salt and oil. Very good flat white. But hey, we judge the food, not the drinks. Almost 20 euros for 1 dish and 2 drinks.

One of the worst experience I have had so far. The service is non existing. You go and find yourself a table. You order your food through QRcode. We ordered one Turkish pizza and one kapsalon. The Turkish pizza came after 30/35 min and the kapsalon came after 45 min wait. It’s ridiculous how the tables next to us were services before us, whilst we ordered before them. They forgot the sauces. Not visiting this place again.

Gozleme was okay. A bit greasy, but fine. The wrap and potato dish we took were completely cold. According to the service, because the toppings were cold, the rest of the dish could not become ice cold.

The atmosphere is unpleasant, no one says hello when you leave. It has become impersonal and unhygienic. I will not eat there again today, spending 65 euros on raw, incomplete and unpleasant food!

Last week we had breakfast with 4 adults, ordered 4x all-in. Chosen for spinach, it turned out that unwashed spinach had been used. It turned out that unwashed spinach had been delivered. We were allowed to choose a different flavor and it was delivered to us a short time later. Unfortunately, 2 people had intestinal problems that day. I've eaten there before in the past and it was always good. So we thought it could happen once. Because the children wanted to eat breakfast at eckmeki, we went again this morning. But this time it was really bad. No spoons with coffee and chocolate milk. Egg we got was still raw. I walked to an employee. Shortly afterwards we received the same well-done egg back. No sorry nothing. Was thrown straight onto the table. After that, Nutella was missing from 1 breakfast... I was able to look for an employee again. Cutlery didn't look too fresh, but when we looked into the container we were really shocked ...hairy mold on the bottom of the cutlery tray. We could barely get a bite down our throats. And the coffee we ordered wasn't too hot either. Spent a total of €65 for 4 people... it really wasn't worth it. Not one employee said hello when we left. Always been very satisfied, but no more Eckmeki for us for the time being.

Wonderful place for lunch. This is the place to be for a good Turkish lunch.

My family and I wanted to have a nice breakfast. When I arrived, my husband asked an employee behind the counter if there were any breakfast options available. To which we received the answer yes, but the bread is gone but we still have simit, we didn't find that a problem. We sat down at the table and the order was taken after 5/10 minutes. We received our drinks and after waiting and watching for about 30/40 minutes, an employee noticed that we still had nothing and asked what happened to our table no?. You could just tell that something was wrong, the employees kept talking to each other and after 5 minutes someone came to us with the story that breakfast had run out and the receipt had been lost. And they had to take a new order. Of course we had no need for that after having been inside for almost an hour with 2 children. Really really bad service.

2019 You can get the tastiest Gözleme here. I'd happily drive for it. Create your own ideal. Vegan or vegetarian variant possible. The avocado tapenade is incredibly delicious. The service is alert and friendly. This chain can now also be found in The Hague. I had the same experience at the Spui and in De Gravenstraat. 2024 Unfortunately, in 2024 I have to conclude that in terms of food and business operations it has really become a one-size-fits-all (not distinctive). The restaurant concept seems to have degenerated into creating a lot of turnover at the tables; unpleasant atmosphere in the Hague branch on the Spui. By the way, it is packed every day... The branch in Utrecht Catharijne makes up for a lot. A place with daylight and here I got the Gozlem I'm looking for. Unfortunately, operation remains the weakest link. Better use the QR code...

Everything was ok except for the old cucumbers

Melon drink was perfect, nothing to complain about. The food initially looked promising and delicious. Only I have a small downside: The chicken döner was dry. The döner was dry and half burnt. I fished out the black, burnt, charred pieces. The unburned pieces of meat that remained (and that wasn't much) I almost broke my teeth before I staggered out again. Normally fries are harder than döner and believe me yours was rock hard, but with you the döner was harder than the fries. But because the melon drink was tasty, I'm not going to complain any further.

Good Turkish restaurant. Delicious food, but it is a pity and impersonal that you have to place the order via a QR code.

Food was mediocre this time. I'm used to better things from them. Communication between each other can be much better. Complaints are resolved immediately.

I ordered a kumpir but rather received a potato bantam. This is truly the smallest kumpir I have seen in my life. For the rest, the potato was hard to find and only sour raw vegetables and other sour stuff could be found on it. All in all, you pay a lot and get very little and very little in return. NEVER AGAIN!

After I paid for my food and waited, one of the workers (I don't know his name) stated I didn't pay for my food. I told him I did. He said I didn't. We went back and forth again. Then I said go ask the girl who was sitting at the cash register, after he asked her and got the confirmation that i paid. He didn't bother apologizing or accepting his mistake. I will not be coming back here again after this experience. This is not how you treat customers.

Customer-friendly employees greet you with a smile. When it is quiet here, there is a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. But when it's busy, it's really BUSY, which is a shame

What a nice eatery this is. The staff is really friendly and walks around with a smile on their face all the time. You can see that they enjoy working there and that reflects on the customers. The food is really tasty and served quickly. I personally had the Gozleme mister green (without olive). Highly recommended. Unfortunately I can't eat that much anymore and I got full quickly, but that shouldn't be a problem. You will simply receive a box in which you can take the remainder with you. Super! We will definitely go back there again.

I came to order food here and found it to be very busy, a long queue and in my opinion the service was not really okay. I understand that they are busy, but if you drop off food you can at least say thank you or see you next time. My food just barely got thrown in my face. I saw that they make it fresh and it is tasty, not 5 star tasty, but just okay tasty.
