Kunsthalcafé in Rotterdam Centrum

We were treated terribly. The staff was arrogant, rude, and incompetent. The food was mediocre. The coffee was cold. A waiter started shouting at us to move aside while we were patiently waiting our turn for a table. Apparently, we were in the way; instead of explaining, he started arguing with us. We were not treated kindly while ordering either. We wanted to order an espresso macchiato, but were told in a very unfriendly manner that they do not have it and only cortado. If you can make a cortado, it doesn't seem complicated to me to put slightly less milk in the coffee. It was a very bad start to the museum visit, absolutely not a good advertisement for the museum!

What a maddening racket in the Kunsthal Café, due to the terrible acoustics. I imagine the wait staff aren't happy about that either. But the boys and girls did their best. I only had a cappuccino: alright, 3 stars. Nevertheless, my table companion and I ended up shouting at each other in a pleasant manner, considering the circumstances. But not for longer than necessary.

This has got to be the worst food we had in Netherlands. If you must eat here because otherwise you would pass out, avoid the "Two beef croquettes" they have nothing to do with beef or food in general. The Caesar salad is also bad but not as bad.

Had a delicious meal just before a lovely visit to the art gallery.

I already had to struggle to get service. And I order a chicken sandwich for 13 euros. And this is what I get with a jar of sambal that contains less than half the amount. Very sad

Today we enjoyed delicious sandwiches (goat's brie/smoked salmon) before going to Iris van Herpen's. It was delicious!!! Sophi was so kind.

It was really crowded on a Sunday afternoon; two different groups even came to ask if we could share a table. It is a cozy place, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the coffee and the apple pie. The view outside is also very nice thanks to the glass walls. Overall, it is a pleasant stop before entering the exhibition at Kunsthal.

It's super cozy here. The service is excellent and you get your food and drinks super fast.

Visiting with children; we weren't given the opportunity to order anything because the children also ate something that wasn't purchased here. The way the employee reported this was downright rude.

Serving the bottle of water took them ages and the bartender was rude. Disappointment.

Strak ingericht maar zeker een aangename sfeer (meer ruimte dan voorheen). Bediening is snel evenals afrekenen. Je zit in een glazen ruimte met zicht naar het Museumpark met ook nog een ander museum. Espresso (dubbel) en chocolade melk zijn lekker.

Dropped by for a coffee and a drink as the atmosphere next to the park and in between the art gallery and the natural history museum was so beautiful in the warm sunny weather. Fast and friendly service, a bit pricey (4€ cappuccino and 3€ pepsi, both rather small) but good quality - enjoyable place!

Large restaurant with terrible acoustics. Service: students. Neat and friendly. The food was neither particularly good nor bad.

First coffee, many tables with reserved signs on them, but the nice waiter said no, you can just sit there, we don't expect any crowds. Ok so we wanted to have lunch after the exhibition and so we sat by the window, the lady behind the bar came running to ask if we wanted to move, there was a reserved sign!!! Was very unfriendly too. Ok done, there was an unreserved place that apparently is not cleaned often. We got on and walked around for a while, but the reserved places were still not occupied... Strangely, it was now 1300, you would have thought that lunch time would have already started. Too bad, also for the staff, follow an example from your colleagues at the cash register, cloakroom and store, where customers are approached in a friendly manner.

Een ruim opgezet museum cafe, waar het soms moeilijk jan zijn om een tafel te vinden. Is een redelijke menu kaart. Ondanks de grote drukte wordt je snel geholpen. Als minder valide mag je door zijdeur naar buiten, wat heel handig is.

Voor ons bezoek aan het Natuurhistorisch museum in Rotterdam even iets gedronken in afwachting van het openen van het museum. Tijdens de middag hier ook een hapje gegeten. Zeer rustig, aangenaam en vlotte bediening! Een aanrader om even te stoppen om iets te nuttigen.

Every museum needs a cafè, and for a museum cafè it’s proper: they have some food and snacks (overpriced of course, but that’s acceptable) and drinks. The service, though, is veeeeery slow. You might wait 15 minutes, 1 hour, days, weeks or months before meeting the eyes of a waiter. And because some exhibits only last 2-3 months you risk losing them while you wait for your cappuccino. Jokes aside, maybe they simply need more workforce (I don’t want to take it on the waiters, they try their best I’m sure)

A bit different, but hey, it's also an art cafe. Drinking tea (fresh ingredients) in an industrial environment. Service, expert, breath-taking, friendly. They know how it works. Recommended!

Unfriendly staff, no politeness

Coffee etc completely okay. But we had soggy frozen apple crumble that still had plenty of flavor. You pay 5.50 per point for this. We immediately didn't feel like having coffee and cake anymore 😝

The staff is friendly. Both the meal and coffee are delicious.

Overall not a bad place to grab lunch. The prices are a bit expensive compared to the surrounding areas but it is nice to sit down after the walkthrough of the museum.

A very satisfying lunch after exploring the museum. Lovely ambience, great food, super friendly and cheerful staff. Highly recommended! And the price is very reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent!

It was very busy which made it quite chaotic. The food was not very special and on the expensive side, but tasty.

Sometimes a bit busy. Lots of vegetarian; you can hardly get normal anymore. Oh yes, normal croquettes with bread. Looked good. Apple pie tasted great!

Organization runs smoothly, service is fast but does the job, not very customer friendly. Cappuccino was with too much milk and on the cold side. Ordered focaccia with prosciutto, burrata and pistachio nuts, it was fine. Little flavor and not creamy enough, something that distinguishes burrata from mozzarella. Then the price of € 12.00, for a not too large piece of topped focaccia, is on the high side. Then make sure the burrata is of quality.

Expensive but worth it for where it is located

After visiting the Kunsthal, we had a quick chat at the café. It was a busy day so it was quite difficult to find a seat in the café. The room has no atmosphere and is quite noisy, but that is to be expected because everyone wants to chat about what they have seen. We were lucky enough to take unused chairs here and there and sit at an empty table where all the chairs had been picked today. The service is super fast. We had 4 people at our table who asked if we wanted to order something after we had already ordered, which turned out well because 1 of us arrived a little later. The drinks were also served continuously. I can't comment on the food. It will probably be more pleasant on a quiet day.

Having seen so many grim reviews of the Cafe here at Kunsthal I was a little cautious but it was great. Super fast service, with very tasty food and no more expensive than a local cafe, but here quiet and comfortable. And since there's very little else around the area it's good to have something to feed your tummy after viewing so much art!

Most important conclusion: make the highest possible profit with the lowest possible costs. On the one hand efficient, but on the other hand not tasty and pleasant food. Staff was professional, paid minimal attention to customer. Atmosphere is canteen-like, not really cozy. Tables close together. The food is very minimal. Croquette with bread is 2 slices of bread, 2 half croquettes and a cup of mustard. No lettuce or other decoration. As minimal as possible. Taste is average. Cheese sandwich is 2 slices of supermarket cheese, some salad and tasty mayonnaise. Also minimal. Really for a quick bite, not for fun or taste. Really only good for a drink. Too bad there is only catering in the area.

Large outside terrace, plenty of chairs and tables inside. You will be helped to the table by friendly staff. The menu is quite extensive in terms of drinks, and a limited range of food.

Nice to walk around for a while. Prices on the high side.

Echt lekkere appeltaart en de Pepsi cola was lekker koud

Heerlijk middagje zitten werken, heel ontspannen omgeving.

Hier samen met partner en baby wezen lunchen na een bezoekje aan het Natuurhistorisch museum. Zelf had ik de vegan sate, welke heerlijk was, alleen was ik wel wat verbaasd dat er geen broodje maar een paar sneetjes wit stokbrood bij zat. Verder leuk opgemaakt met extra pindas door de pindasaus en een kleine salade ernaast. Mijn partner daarentegen had voor circa 11 euro brood met twee rundvleeskroketten besteld en dat was ook letterlijk wat hij kreeg. Twee dunne sneetjes bruin brood met twee kroketten en een papieren zakje met mosterd zonder verdere leuke aankleding dmv een salade of zelfs maar een kuipje boter erbij. Dit verwacht je wel voor de prijs. Ivm onrustige baby hebben we snel alles opgegeten en heeft hij er ter plekke niets over gezegd, maar dit was wel een beetje een domper. Verder vriendelijke serveerster en rustig plekje op het Museumpark. Tip: om de kroketten in het vervolg wat meer op te leuken.

Als je binnenkomt staat er een bordje bij de bar dat je aan de tafel kan bestellen. Hoe dan? Er staat een QR-code op de kaart maar die geeft alleen een website over de koffie (duurzaamheid etc.). Personeel dus? Waar dan? Uiteindelijk maar wapperen met de armen en/of naar de bar lopen waarnaast het personeel in en uitloopt (tenminste: soms). Toch gelukt om te bestellen en de koffie en thee met iets erbij zijn ok, maar wel behoorlijk aan de prijs. Dus: locatie ok (wat moet je anders bij bezoek Kunsthal?), personeel ok?, concepten en duidelijkheid? Niet overtuigend en onduidelijk, prijzen? Beetje over de top voor wat je krijgt. Toch maar 3 van de 5 gegeven.

Had lunch in the restaurant yesterday. Amazed at the prices this place charges. A tosti for ten euros! and I only ate half as it tasted strange. An odd mix of ingredients that really don't match.The coffee was OK. Won't eat there again.

El mejor Apple pay y la mejor tarta de limón de mi vida 🥰😍

Het kunsthalcafe bevindt zich in de Kunsthal. Het is een ruim opgezet café waar je ook iets eten. Er is prima koffie en een lekkere zoete aardappelsoep. Het personeel is vriendelijk maar niet iedereen is helemaal opgeleid. Het was niet mogelijke om de aandacht te trekken van het personeel om te mogen betalen. We zijn uiteindelijk maar naar de balie gegaan en hebben daar betaald. Verder was het prima toeven.

Best wel lang gewacht tot er iemand langs kwam om de bestelling op te nemen (15 minuten, en het was niet druk). Daarnaast wel een vriendelijk personeel.

Chouette endroit, cuisine fraîche et bon rapport qualité prix

Relativ kleine Auswahl, hohe Preise, aber nette Lage und Aussicht.

De S.U.E. is een absolute topper als je trek hebt in een zoet fris sinaasappel- mango-dadel- feestje. De perfecte afsluiting na de kruidige linzensoep. In verhouding mocht de soep royaler dan het maisbrood wat er naast lag. Of de prijs mag omlaag of de portie mag groter. Personeel is vriendelijk en je wordt snel geholpen.

Very good food and lovely service!

Mooie plek voor een borrel met taartje of borrelhap. Het plein bij het museumpark is gezellig en je loopt er van de verschillende musea makkelijk naar toe. Het personeel is super vriendelijk.

Dure niet zo'n lekkere koffie, aardige setting, leuk personeel!

Prima bediening die twee dito dubbele espresso’s snel serveerde. Het café is keurig en schoon en de etenswaren (van anderen want wij aten niet)zagen er goed uit.

The Idea of Scanning a QR-Code and being able to order and pay with the phone is good. However it's highly unlikely that every foreigner has a local bank account to make use of this service. With Paypal, apple pay and google pay you could address many people using a smartphone.

Rustige locatie tussen Euromast Park en Rotterdam Centrum. Bediening kan vlotter, ze zijn een beetje afwachtend.

Voorafgaand aan het bezoek of na afloop ervan kun je goed lunchen in het café. De tafels staan ruim van elkaar en de bediening is vlot en vriendelijk.

Snelle en vriendelijke bediening. Lekkere tomatensoep met stukjes verse groenten en heerlijk vers brood. Ook de vleeskroket werd geserveerd met dit lekkere brood.

Erg gezellige sfeer, lekker druk. Goede koffie en cheesecake. Wel iets aan de dure kant.

Wij (duidelijk overstuur na ons ziekenhuis bezoek) zijn hier zo lief opgevangen door de bediening van het restaurant! Super om te zien dat er ook nog zaken zijn met oog voor de behoefte van de gast en daar goed op inspelen. Horeca toppers zijn hier aan het werk! Jeeeej ze zijn er dus nog wel! Chapeau mannen! Daar kunnen er veel nog een puntje aan zuigen

Food is delicious and the cafe looks really nice, but the service and atmosphere ruin it. The waiters come to ask you for drinks when you've barely sat down, then they disappear once you're ready to order. You can see them often in groups chatting with each other not even looking at the floor. The runners cannot take orders or let you pay, and when you ask them those things they don't communicate it to the waiters, so you're left there hanging waiting to pay for ages, having to ask multiple times. With little training to the staff this place could be real nice

Leuke locatie. Vrij prijzig voor kwaliteit en hoeveelheid. Personeel is vriendelijk hoewel details vergeten werden (ik moest zelf naar de bar voor de honing in mijn munt thee). Het kan hier heel druk zijn.
