Super delicious food, top-notch chef, but very poor service, incompetent, and unmotivated students. But I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

We arrived quite late and they were still willing to offer us a delicious meal. The staff were also very friendly.

Good service, good meat. While we waited, we were treated to free sushi. The rib-eye steak arrived well-cooked, and the sauces were so good 👌 I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff is very welcoming and 👌❤️ PS: Coming from France 🇫🇷, we didn't struggle; there were two people who spoke French, so communication was easy 👌👌

Extremely Disappointing Experience at “The Story Bar & Grill” in Rotterdam My recent visit to “The Story Bar & Grill” in Rotterdam was nothing short of a nightmare. The incompetence and lack of professionalism displayed by the staff were beyond belief. Firstly, the waiter arrived egregiously late, making us wait uncomfortably long just to place our orders. The level of disorganization was appalling, leaving patrons feeling neglected and frustrated. To exacerbate matters, the food took an eternity to arrive, as if it were being prepared on another continent. The kitchen’s inefficiency was matched only by the staff’s apparent indifference to our mounting dissatisfaction. The entire dining experience was marred by chaos and a complete absence of hospitality. “The Story Bar & Grill” failed to provide even a semblance of comfort or enjoyment, leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of its patrons. In conclusion, I would strongly advise against patronizing this establishment unless you have a masochistic penchant for enduring abysmal service and interminable waits. Save yourself the aggravation and seek dining options elsewhere.

Excellent steak had a fantastic family meal here. Reasonable prices for the quality of food. Friendly staff. Not too long to wait for food. Would reccomend.

I arrived to Rotterdam quite late, and this was literally the only restaurant still open. In fact, they had already closed but decided to give me food while cleaning up, for which I'm very grateful. I ordered something simple: fish and chips. The fish was good, salty and not overcooked. And I also got a small salad with it. Slightly expensive, but at the same time, who am I to complain, there were no other available options late at night. I would recommend The Story Bar & Grill to all those travelers that, like me, arrive to the Netherlands very late at night.

Food is great especially the Peking duck. Good service and atmosphere is quiet.

The food wasn't particularly good and was very expensive for the quality and quantity. There wasn't even any sauce for the fried fish. The cocktails were definitely way too small for €10. Service was okay, but not particularly well regulated.

After ordering the main course we had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes. There was something wrong with every dish. Wrong sauces or no sauces at all, wrong side dish, …. Reported it immediately and the waiter went to solve the problem. After 15 minutes they came to ask what was missing, our dish was already cold or eaten because we were very hungry due to the long wait. our dishes were; burgers were so dry and well done. The lamb chops, which were supposed to weigh 300 grams, were barely 1/3 of the weight. The crunchy duck was tasty. The manager (who was very unfriendly) made a commercial gesture after much discussion, but that was it. Below average, definitely not recommended! very disorganized!

Possibly the worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. The waiting time was insanely long and the food tasted next to nothing. After 2 hours we got our main course and ended up sending 80% of the plates back to the kitchen because the steak was either overcooked or cold. The sauce came after all the steaks were served and was also cold as ice. We ended up leaving the place without paying for our main course. At least they agreed to that. Our night out ended up at Burger King at 21:30.

Quite a nice restaurant, with friendly service. However, first the draft beer ran out, then the cider. It smelled a little strange. Maybe it's all my imagination, but I come from Cologne and when the beer runs out there's a mutiny.

Just drank something, didn't eat anything. We didn't want to either. It didn't smell that good in the restaurant. After the earthen draft beer, the beer was gone. When we wanted to switch to cider, it was no longer available. What's going on there. Nice shop. Too bad

We had a great meal, but we only received our main course after 3 hours. Made a reservation at 6:30 PM and could only eat at 9:30 PM. The waitress did not help when we asked where the food was.

Food was Insane! :D Service a Shame :( - Forgott our Drinks - Forgott a Persons Starter - Waiting around 1 hour for the Main Menu - Fork/Knive for only two Persons, have had to order two extra Pairs for the Rest of us because they didnt notice -.- Never again

Had a delicious meal yesterday at the Story Bar & Grill. The welcome (by the owner?) was very friendly and, despite the reservation, we were allowed to choose a nice spot ourselves. It was still relatively early and not that busy, the service was quick and very friendly. We didn't have to wait a moment. The presentation and taste of the food were excellent. The range is diverse, but there is something for every budget. There was some gentle music playing in the background. The atmosphere in the restaurant has a luxurious appearance and everything is beautifully coordinated. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely come back.

I became sick after eating here. My beer glass was also not washed properly. I did like the limoncello tiramisu! The staff doesnt check on you, even if the place is completely empty. Do not recommend.

New Year's Eve package 8 courses including drinks reserved; Service left much to be desired with unclear information about how the dinner would proceed (information about dinner reservation within 3 hours) and it took an hour before the 1st course was served, having to be asked for a drink every time. Despite the beautiful ingredients, lobster, scallop, etc., the taste and presentation left much to be desired, which is a shame because it could potentially have been a delicious dinner.

Super fun to spend my New Year's Eve here

Huge disappointment. I will never come back here again! The staff is completely disorganized, has no interest in the guests, and just sits around doing nothing. Hospitality is a word that does not appear in the policy of this restaurant. We waited over 2 hours for our food, which then arrived cold. During the 2 hours, no one ever came by to ask if we wanted something to drink, or to apologize for the long wait. The entire restaurant is also blue with smoke and you can take your clothes to the dry cleaners after a night of dinner. Very unfortunate, but our evening out was completely ruined. It was our first and last time in this restaurant.

Terribly bad service. Hospitality does not exist here. The food is mediocre, but it is mainly the staff that completely ruins your evening out here. I have never seen such disinterested people “working” in a restaurant. Waited 2 hours for our food. No excuses. I will never come back here again!

It’s cold in the restaurant, because of this you don’t want to stay there for a long time, there was only one desire - to quickly get your order and go somewhere else to warm up. The food in the restaurant is not bad, but nothing special, I can’t say it was very tasty, no, it’s not, unfortunately, the price is too high, and the quality in my opinion is not worth it.

Super goeie restaurant om naar toe te gaan met je gezin of met je date 🌹. De gerechten waren uitstekend gemaakt door de chef. Complimenten naar de nieuwe eigenaar die de kwaliteit van eten en sfeer een heel stuk heeft verhoogd.

Ik schrijf niet vaak een recensie over een restaurant maar nu wel. Eten is oké, maar niet zo bijzonder als recensies hier aangeven. De service/bediening was echt niet goed en daar gaat mijn recensie over. We aten er met twee personen en het was niet druk in het restaurant. Mijn zoon had het kindermenu, maar toen het opgediend werd, gaven ze aan dat ze een fout hadden gemaakt. Kipnuggets ipv bitterballen. Uiteraard geen probleem verder en hebben ze gecorrigeerd. Maar het was het eerste signaal. Maar daarna kwam mijn gerecht en het vlees was koud. Ik ben geen zeur maar 25 euro voor de ribeye en dan een kaal bord serveren met een (klein) stukje vlees dat ook nog koud is vond ik toch wel iets om over te zeggen. De serveerster zei 'oh' (geen sorry) en nam het bord mee. Ik had echter inmiddels het jus en mayo bakje op het bord staan en frietjes erop gedaan en de salade. Vervolgens krijg ik mijn bord terug, met een doormidden gesneden stuk vlees, opnieuw ff in de pan gegooid. Dat doe ik thuis wel eens, maar dat verwacht ik niet in een restaurant. Dan leg je toch een nieuw stukje vlees erop? In ieder geval niet doorgesneden. Mijn frietjes op het bord waren inmiddels natuurlijk ook afgekoeld. Ik baalde ervan, maar dacht, Nou ja we gaan maar eten. We moesten immers nog een film halen. Toen bleek dat de mayo en jus ook weg waren. Er let daar kennelijk echt niemand op. Dus loop ik zelf maar naar de hoek van de bar waar je de keuken in kunt kijken en vraag om de mayo/jus, lichtelijk geïrriteerd. In plaats van me dat te geven, geeft de serveerster aan "meneer u mag hier niet komen!" Gewoon midden in het restaurant. Geen sorry, geen extraatje of korting. Dan heb je het als bediening niet goed begrepen. Nooit meer terug dus.

4 tafels bezet op zondagavond en nog ruim een uur wachten! Heb gevraagd wanneer het eten kwam en het zou 5a10 min duren omdat het vlees dik zou zijn. Knap voor een biefstuk. Eten goed van smaak, echter te weinig. Meiden zijn drukker bezig met cocktails maken.

We came with a special offer for 50% off, and glad we did because the full price would be too much. The food looks and tastes like it's pre-made in advance. I had the duck and sweet potato fries, both of which had no taste. The sauces were from a can. The Limoncello tiramisu also didn't taste fresh, and tasted to me like coconut and artificial vanilla, not limoncello. The girl that served us was not very friendly and when I asked what she could recommend she said 'I don't know'. I've been here before a few years back and it was a great experience, now it was very average, and if you have to pay full price it's simply not worth it. The location is good and the decor looks nice, but for some reason they kept the door wide open when it was raining and cold outside so it got very cold inside as well. They also gave me a broken glass to drink from, good that I noticed before drinking from it that it was cracked, and they replaced it. Simply no eye for detail or customer service.

First impression: fresh and tasty. We had a nice seafood dinner with delicious wine. A pleasant place to enjoy time with friends. If you doubt about the wine, you can ask Oscar. He is the chief and he gives really good recommendations.👍

I've eaten here many many times, even when it was still called Encore. The quality n taste is still very good, just slightly different to Encore. The last time I ate here (1-10-2023) I ordered the ribs and didnt get any greens with it, just salad and my side dish (I chose sweet potato fries). I kinda miss the greens, but its still very good. You won't regrer eating here. I recommend it. Another thing i noticed is that they got rid of the huge flatscreen TVs. Maybe they are replacing them or they had to get fixed, but I hope they come back.

We ordered cocktails and food. 15min later they say they don’t’ have syrup to make them so we went for beer and wine that also took a long time to receive. Fish and chips was good, burger not the best. At the end there was an extra portion of fries added to the bill, had to be removed. Looks fancy but not really, slow service, kitchen is not ventilated, you end up smelling like fried oil.

The place was very nice, a relaxing place but staff took a long time to come over and take your order. Food was good but in a very small portion, I wouldn't come here if you were very hungry 🤷

Très bon restaurant dans le centre de Rotterdam, nous y avons mangé avec ma compagne en vacances dans la ville. La prise de commande s'est très bien faite en anglais que ce soit pour les boissons, les plats ou les desserts. La cuisine est excellente pour notre court passage et nous recommanderons l'adresse. La Dame Blanche est très bonne et sa présentation est très travaillée. Si nous retournons à Rotterdam, nous ne manquerons pas de manger ici. L'ambiance est très cosy et très chaleureuse, nous avons passé une agréable soirée ! Merci beaucoup !

For a group who ordered many different kinds of food, it was delicious. The ambiance was very nice and the staff was also friendly. 4 stars because we had to wait really long on our order. The waitress Marta was amiable and did her job wonderfully!

Heerlijke gerechten met een zeer volle smaak en mooie opgemaakte borden. Hele leuk personeel Sasja die lekker met je babbelt en alles uut legt je ook de rust geeft om te bestellen. Ze heeft een passie om cocktails te maken en vandaag heeft ze haar eigen Pink Sasja cocktail gemaakt. Een frisse lekkere cocktail. Er werd door Sasja verteld dat er een nieuw menu komt en een buitenterras, dus tot snel.

Super lekker eten! Het was best rustig, aangezien het een dinsdag avond was (denk ik). Restaurant is erg mooi ingericht! Mooi uitzicht over een deel van Rotterdam, leuk om naar buiten te kijken. Service was geweldig, veel aandacht gekregen en vragen beantwoorden vonden zij niet erg! Ik heb erg genoten. De bar is ook heel mooi, en duidelijk te zien wat ik altijd wel leuk vind.

Eten was erg lekker en vriendelijke bediening. Enkele drankjes lieten wat langer op zich wachten en het hoofdgerecht kwam echt direct na het voorgerecht. Er hing wel een rooklucht van de gril in het restaurant. Dat was iets minder prettig. Maar het eten (oesters, gamba's, zeebaars en toetje) was erg lekker, boven verwachting zelfs.

Mooie restaurant, goeie locatie nieuwe burger die ik vandaag heb geproeft was echt top, Juicy smaakvol best burger die tot nu toe. echt top restaurant, kom zeker weer terug.

Goede sfeer maar de rest liet te wensen over, erg langzame service en slechte bediening.

This place has so much potential. I must acknowledge the great service that I experienced here at the restaurant the ladies here were fantastic and knew the menu. I also loved of drinks I got the "Sugar Daddy" as well as "Tiki" something I can't recall fully. But the were great. However, the food was okay... I had the Bavette, knowing this type of cut it can be a bit chewy so I tend to go Medium Well. However, I got Medium/Medium rare... My friend had the Ribeye which is a more lean cut which was perfectly cooked as medium. I normally go for Wagyu cut and cooked at medium but it was my first time here at this restaurant. Presentation was good and cleanliness of the place and to standard. I will definitely go back they have a wide variety of dishes to choose from. IG @Bella_foodlover

Via The Fork gereserveerd. Het bleek een rustige avond te zijjn. We mochten een tafel uitkiezen en kozen voor een van de tafels met het halfronde bankje, erg sfeervol en gezellig. Fles Chardonnay-Viognier besteld met een fles plat water. De kreeftenbisque als vooraf genomen en de zeebaars als hoofdgerecht, met daarbij zoete aardappel. Het vooraf je was prima op smaak en temperatuur, er zat voldoende kreeft in. Het hoofdgerecht werd enge tijd later opgediend, de vis was stevig en smaakvol. De hoeveelheid groente was beperkt, zoals ook op de foto is te zien. Afgesloten met een limoncello tiramisu en koffie. Gedurende de avond werd de bediening minder attent, de muziekkeuze past niet bij de ambiance die het eten uit wil stralen, chique maar met jaren 90 muziek aangepakt door een DJ die het modern wil maken. Ik vond de prijs kwaliteit verhouding mager. Leuk voor een keer, maar het herhalingsbezoek zal nog wel enige tijd op zich laten wachten,
