Nice people’s, quiet place, good food

2026 Very curious, as it has been a “new” owner for 2 years. Now we had the Chinese rijsttafel and, just like below, we had a delicious meal, and everything stays nice and warm thanks to the warming plates. Simply a very good Chinese restaurant. 2024 Had another delicious meal, the “Indonesian rijsttafel” was good and tasty again, and served at the right temperature. Friendly staff, just top-notch for a few hours. 2023 Had a very tasty meal, plenty of it, and very importantly, served at the right temperature. We had the “special dinner of the house.” Soup and spring rolls as starters, an extensive main course, and ice cream for dessert. Friendly staff. Just a good Chinese restaurant where you can enjoy a wonderful few hours.

I had a very lovely meal, the service was rather slow though.

Tonight, we had an Indonesian rijsttafel with 4 people. It was truly fantastic, flavorful, at the right temperature, and more than enough. The staff was very friendly.

An old-fashioned Chinese restaurant – in the best sense of the word. Delicious food, friendly hospitality, and a pleasant atmosphere.

It's a shame it didn't work out for some people, but we've been at this restaurant for years, even under the new owners, and we think the food is excellent. Delicious, even. And even if it's a bit off this one time, well, that's okay. We remain loyal to the restaurant. And to the owners. We give them a 10+.

I can't comment on the atmosphere; we always pick up our food ourselves. Unfortunately, the last time it was downright disgusting! The spring roll was swimming in satay sauce, and I thought the meat was spoiled. We threw the whole spring roll in the trash. So I called right away and complained. All I heard was: "I'll pass it on." I noticed the last two times I went that the food tasted different... We've decided to go to a different Chinese restaurant in the future. That's no way to treat your regular customers...

I really enjoyed it; great flavors. I'd never tried Dutch-Chinese food before—an interesting mix. I recommend it, and the staff is super friendly.

Tonight, we celebrated my brother's birthday with eight people at Peking. The food was delicious, top-notch. The owners and staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, since the new owners took over, the quality of the food has been terrible. I've gotten sick twice in a short time from the food. They don't honor their promises, make you wait much longer than agreed, and the food doesn't taste as good as it used to. Such a shame! No more Peking Meppel.

Last night, after returning from a speed skating competition in Thialf, we ended up at this restaurant. And honestly, it was a great choice. We had the tomato soup and the Chinese rice table. We hadn't had such delicious (Dutch) Chinese food in years. Because we still had an hour and a half drive home, we didn't have much time for a full meal. Therefore, and because it was so delicious, we asked if we could take some home. We could, and it was neatly packaged. This restaurant is highly recommended.

I've been coming here for years with satisfaction, but at my last pickup, everything except the soup was trash-worthy. I emailed them twice about it, but they didn't respond. We were completely surprised by the warm and friendly welcome, and especially by the delicious dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the Tipan dish with tenderloin pieces and plenty of fresh vegetables. It's a compliment to the chef for preparing this kind of dish so exquisitely, accompanied by the very tender tenderloin. We will definitely be back.

They have halal chicken. If you're a Muslim and want bami with chicken satay, you can get it here. Just be sure to ask for vegetarian bami, otherwise it will also contain meat.

Compliments to the chef; the food was delicious, but we didn't really enjoy it. A staff member kept pacing around the table, almost trying to clear an empty plate before we'd even finished. After we'd finished eating and indicated we didn't want dessert, the table was quickly cleared and even wiped down with a damp cloth while we were still there. Afterward, I stood in the queue to pay for the takeaway while plenty of staff were milling around. We felt very unwelcome. It's great that you want to host a large group, but this approach doesn't promote the food.

My wife and I haven't eaten at a Chinese restaurant in ages. If we lived closer, we would definitely eat here more often.

Every time we're in Meppel, we have a delicious meal at Peking. What a fantastic restaurant, delicious food for everyone. Very friendly service, highly recommended. Joke

The quality and taste profile is less after a silent takeover. The ingredients in e.g. the wang tang soup change, then one time there is broccoli in it and the other time there is iceberg lettuce in it. The noodles are of a lesser quality. And with a busy day e.g. Easter, pick up was a disaster, placing the order and almost 45 minutes later than the agreed time.

We had a very nice meal, we had the 4 course surprise menu. It was very tasty, and the service was also very friendly.

We have been ordering here for years and have always been very satisfied with the taste and quality of the food. Unfortunately, our last order was disappointing, which makes us doubt whether we will order here again. The saté ajam was the most disappointing: the meat was very dry, not at all what we are used to. Normally it is juicy and full of flavor. In addition, the meat smelled and tasted slightly spoiled, which worried us a bit. The nasi was also drier and harder than we are used to. The chicken curry had a different flavor than usual, with a less strong curry flavor. Fortunately, there were also positive points. The Chinese bami with chicken and the Peking duck were delicious and well seasoned as always. Hopefully this was a one-off disappointment, because we have always enjoyed ordering here in the past. But for now we are putting our orders on hold for a while.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and the service is friendly and professional. What really made it special, however, was the Tipan Beef Tenderloin. This dish was truly a flavor explosion! The meat was perfectly cooked, wonderfully tender and full of flavor. The spices and sauces were fantastically balanced, making it an unforgettable experience. The dish was served on a hot tipan, which not only provides an extra dimension of taste, but also a spectacular presentation. The combination of the perfect cooking, the rich flavor and the subtle smokiness of the tipan makes the Tipan Beef Tenderloin without a doubt one of the best dishes I have ever had. It is clear that quality is of paramount importance at Restaurant Beijing. If you are looking for a great dining experience, this restaurant is the perfect choice. Had a delicious meal at Chinese Indian Restaurant Beijing in Meppel! The dishes were fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. The Peking duck and the Babi Pangang were especially fantastic. The portions were generous and the service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and you really feel welcome. Definitely recommended if you like good Chinese food. I will definitely come back here!

On the way home we decided to get a quick bite in Meppel. After some searching, we reluctantly went to the Chinese in the center. The place looked neat and very clean and the service was very friendly. In general there are not very big fans of Chinese food but we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent and tasty food. The dessert: Beijing ice cream, was the imaginary Christmas on the cake. All in all, we were very satisfied and will definitely come back and the price was also fair. Definitely recommended.

It is always full and the food is very good. It is very noisy and everyone is talking louder and louder to hear each other. Even screaming. If something is done about the acoustics, this would be great!

Good Chinese restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious Indian rice table. Definitely recommended if you want to eat out in Meppel, in the lovely city center. Parking a short distance away. If you are looking for a free parking space, this is a 10-minute walk from the restaurant.

It was very busy so it took a very long time. But it was definitely worth the wait.

I have been waiting for my food for an hour now, I ordered at a quarter to 6 and it is now a quarter to 7. I understand that it is busy, but this is very bad. We are then asked if we can take the food with us because our train leaves at 5 to 7, the server is not even sure whether it will be ready before then... a bit of a shame

Very friendly staff with wonderful English speaking. We ordered a chicken dish and a pork dish with fried rice, both had great mix of vegetables. And they prepared a hot plate for keeping food nice and warm. Superb!!

Very tasty food. I always find it a strange sensation that you are waiting for your order among the customers who are eating. Parking is also difficult here at the moment. We parked the car perpendicular to the terrace of the fair. This is of course not allowed, but that red triangle works wonders.

Nice takeaway. The tjap tjoy in particular is tasty and well filled with a wide variety of vegetables.

Tonight I had a wonderful meal here with my friend. First of all, we were received very warmly by a friendly young man. What we wanted to order was not on the menu and according to him it could simply be ordered. While serving the vegetarian spring rolls, the owner accidentally discovered that we do not eat pork (which we had completely forgotten to indicate). He politely asked us if we would prefer our noodles without pork. All in all, a delicious meal, fantastic service and super friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended for a meal in Meppel. "Familie" Restaurant Beijing is a wonderful restaurant in the center of Meppel where you can also take away. The atmosphere, the service are also good and the food is perfect

Spring roll special has suddenly become a lot smaller, it used to hang over the edge of the plate, but now I was left with a plate. In addition, it used to contain egg, ham, chicken, bean sprouts and vegetables so that it was a complete meal. Now I had puff pastry with bean sprouts, 3 pieces of leek, 1 piece of scrambled egg and a few pieces of chicken, and that for 6 euros... it still tasted good, but we were still left hungry. So no repeat, which is a shame because we have been coming here since 1984.
