Found the food disappointing, the squid starter was too bland and the tenderloin too salty.

Great place with authentic Italians, where the owner also lives nearby. The stuffed tenderloin was a highlight, and the wine was delicious. I live around the corner, so I'll definitely be back.

Truly fantastic. This is how Italian dining should be. A well-organized menu with simple, high-quality dishes. Excellent wines. The service is cheerful; everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.

This restaurant was definitely worth a visit. Everything was delicious from start to finish. The staff was knowledgeable in every aspect, from the kitchen to the dining room—a rare thing in the Netherlands. There are very few places in Amsterdam where you can leave satisfied, and you can literally count them on one hand. Ciro is definitely one of them! What a great evening we had at Ciro's! My party of 6 was quite tired and not even all that hungry but the splendid host Eliano lifted our spirits with his unique personality and humour, the way he explained the dishes and the laughter he generated. We left 3 hours later in high spirits after a delicious dinner, real Italian food and high quality ingedients. Wonderful ending of our work team gathering. Definitely a cosy and high quality restaurant to recommend and return to.

Restaurant Ciro Passami L’olio is an Italian gem near Leidseplein. This was our third visit, this time to celebrate my birthday. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The wine they selected for me was delicious, and the food was heavenly. Don't expect simple pizzas and/or pasta; this restaurant is for those who truly enjoy good food and are willing to put in the effort. Thank you, Ciro, and see you soon.

The experience is unique! Everyone who works here is Italian from Naples, and they put a lot of effort into their service and making you feel at home. The food is top-notch, the Aperol Spritzes are beautifully made, the desserts are exquisite! Everything is a 10/10.

There couldn’t have been a better and more delicious meal to end my holiday in Amsterdam. I was traveling solo and Emiliano, the owner, took very good care of me. The white asparagus appetizer special was fresh, light, and tasty. I had the funghi ravioli for my main accompanied by a glass of white wine. I absolutely loved the experience and hope to return someday!

We had a great time. The food was super good. Truffle pasta for my daughter and me, seafood pasta for my husband. We all really enjoyed it. And let's talk about the service, the server was fantastic, perfect, friendly, with a nice touch of humor. We had seen the kitchen, clean, and the work is done with pleasure. In terms of price, it cost 107 euros. With a beer and two glasses of wine. Thank you.

Una sera belissima! Real and very good Italian cuisine (delicious filetto from the chef, astice, scaloppina, melanzana and of course scroppino as it should be) and great atmosphere and service. A la prossima!

We visited Amsterdam (February 2025) and stayed not far from Ciro Passami L'Olio who welcomed us with open arms all week. Whether you are alone or with others, be sure that you will be pampered like a friend of the house. Small, very qualitative menu and excellent service. Bonus for the truffle tagliatelle and the pistachio soufflé. We recommend 100%!

Pulled a last minute switch from Castel to Ciro and couldn’t be happier. Everything we ordered came out delicious and in good timing. We were having a very difficult day and I was looking for anything to complain about and they gave me nothing will definitely be going back ..

Last Saturday we had dinner here with the family and it was really fantastic, far beyond expectations. Food was incredibly tasty and super friendly service. Both the fish and meat dishes taste like you could never make yourself. The owner's choice of wine was exquisite and just right. The location is perfect for enjoying a performance in the theater or theater afterwards. Just tell us how long you want to leave and it will be fine. Grazie mille, ci piacerebbe tornare presto! Italian food, very good, funny, nice Capo!

Generally great. The ravioli was wonderful and truffle pasta was great as well. However, even though it might not be a big deal for some people, but for me, Vongole had too much sand. The service and atmosphere were superb.

Was a pleasant surprise, we were a large group of 13, the fit us a nice terrace table, service was excellent and fast (specially considering dutch standards) they were quick and attentive for our chaotic group. Food was really good we try almost all items from their menu and were tasty. Will recommend and visit again soon

Ciro and his crew are excellent hosts. With Delta Air Lines technical department AMS we celebrated our 10 year anniversary and they made the evening unforgettable. The food is of high quality, tastes brilliant and it makes you feel like a God in Italy. I would recommend anyone to take the walk to the restaurant and get gastronomically overwhelmed.

Restaurant with an elegant appearance, the candles give a touch of romance, which never hurts. Welcoming service, after a short while I already felt at home. Which is important for us Italians 😉. We ordered an appetizer: the octopus, good, a little salty for my palate but not exaggerated, a first course the groin with crab, pasta slightly too al dente but tasty and appreciated (better al dente as it's overcooked... life!) and a second course of delicate and tasty fish with potatoes and spinach. Very welcome. To conclude, a tiramisu and a classic strawberry ice cream. In my opinion, the price is suitable for dinner. If you pass through Amsterdam and want to eat like at home, stop here :) thanks for the welcome.

Na vooraf een beetje TripAdvisor research, hier gereserveerd. Bij het binnenkomen voel je onmiddellijk de Italiaanse gastvrijheid. De gerechten op de kaart zijn al super en er zijn nog een hele boel dagelijkse suggesties... 1 groot nadeel, je miet kiezen want de porties zijn vrij royaal. Maar alles is om te lekkerder! By far the best Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. The hospitality is great and whatever they put on the menu i'ts always delicious. The scroppinos they make next to your table are also world class. To add to this a few years later (original review is from 2019): they also do takeaway nowadays and it's just as good. You know what to do :)

I walked in 5 minutes before closing, and I asked if there was any way to buy a tiramisu to-go (serious craving). The gentleman offered to give me the dessert for free (I insisted on paying), and he let me take a restaurant plate to bring back tomorrow. Just WOW! 🥰 What service and I’m happily enjoying my much-craved tiramisu in my hotel… THANK YOU to this gentleman!!

What an amazing experience! Every second in this restaurant was a pleasure. They easily catered for 6 hungry people and provided mouthwatering dishes, excellent service and a great sense of humour and professionalism. If you like to eat, eat here!!

Eten was goed, minder byzonder dan verwacht. Zaten met 3 personen aan een kleine 2-persoonstafel, dus weinig plek op tafel en onder tafel ook geen plek voor de benen en voeten. Hierdoor en het drukke gedrag van de eigenaar geen comfortabel gevoel gehad en is de prijs te hoog voor de ervaring. Compliment aan de jonge ober.

Dining at this restaurant is like a warm hug. My friend ( a long time customer) and I savored the succulent special, linguine with lobster. We also drank our dessert, silky and lucious sgroppinos. Highly recommend !

I had higher expectations. The grilled provolone was good, but too salty. The Rigatoni al ragu di carne was just ok-ish. Had better Italian food in the city. The service was above the average, super kind and nice people.

Preis Leistung ist für Amsterdam gut. Herzlicher Service. Carpaccio war exzellent, Calamari Pasta ebenfalls. Gegrillter Oktopus war eine 7/10. Ebenfalls durchschnittlich war die Trüffelpasta. Gegrillte Aubergine mit Burrata war aber wiederum sehr lecker. Der Spinat der Dorade macht spüchtig. Das Hähnchen sah einfach zu lustig aus :D Messer im Po, Mexico

Goede dingen gehoord en daardoor misschien te hoge verwachtingen. Het eten was in principe goed, maar niet in relatie tot de prijs. Vooraf gegrilde octopus die nog net te taai was, smaak was wel goed. Penne all'arrabbiate was erg lekker en linguine alle vongole waren goed maar erg pittig. Tagliatelle con crema al tartufo bianco was goed maar ook erg zwaar door de room. De truffel had het daardoor zwaar om door te komen. Daarna nog een ribeye die net te ver doorgeschoten was (ruim medium ipv rood). Overal prima gegeten, maar de prijs was net even te hoog voor de kwaliteit.

Heerlijk echt italiaans eten..aanbevolen!

Onderstaande recensie was van mij drie jaar geleden. Sinds die tijd ben ik er nog wel een "paar" keer geweest. Binnenkort weer. "De afgelopen maanden een aantal keer hier gegeten en elke keer genoten. Heerlijk eten en gezellig rommelige bediening. Binnenkort weer in ieder geval."

Assez déçus, des pâtes à la tomate pour 15€, une assiette de charcuterie avec 8 tranches de Coppa, parmesan et mâche 15€, et un plat à moitié fait maison, moitié congelé 25€. Passez votre chemin ça n'en vaut pas le prix..

Food just wasn’t very good, especially for the price paid. Lamb and risotto both quite overcooked, octopus half cold. Burrata was nice, service was fine. Wouldn’t recommend

Chef is top. Bediening aan tafel spot on. Italiaanse gezelligheid zoals het hoort. Gerechten zijn op niveau, ruime keuze aan wijnen. Genieten geblazen voor een stukje Italië in Amsterdam.

Cibo eccezionale... Tutto fresco.. eccezionale la selezioni di vini . Puoi anche consultare la sommollier Alessandra che ti consiglia i vini per i piatti scelti. Personale alto livello di servizio complimenti a Ciro.. Alessandra e Fabio, lo chef . Sono stato più volte e non hanno mai sbagliato . I prezzi non sono alti rispetto al rapporto, qualità sicuramente da frequentare periodicamente perché la cucina è ad alto livello.. consiglio a tutti coloro che amano il cibo italiano all'estero di andare... direi a colpo sicuro..metterei un 5 stelle per tutto il complessivo .. io sarò cliente fisso. Grazie a tutto lo staff compreso il servizio coadiuvato da Ciro ed Alessandra in ottima compagnia con Jaime e Julian.. consiglio a fine cena " lo sgroppino ..oltre che dolce della casa ,per quanto riguarda primi e secondi piatti .. tutti eccezionali... Bella esperienza, un angolo d'Italia ad Amsterdam. Cibo ottimo e personale cortese fanno di questo luogo un rifugio per gli amanti della cucina Italiana.

Stukje Italië in Amsterdam West. Prettig chaotische bediening, maar ze weten waar ze het over hebben. Goeie wijnen en werkelijk alle gerechten zijn lekker. En vergeet voor je weggaat niet een glaasje scropino te nemen!

Prezzi un po’ alti per la qualità del cibo. Tartare molto buona, pane squisito, ma la pasta sembrava precotta, un po’ deludente. Dolci tutti sopra i 10€. Cameriere (Julian mi sembra) molto gentile, peccato venisse trattato male dal capo in maniera abbastanza scortese.. non si fa una bella figura davanti ai clienti :)
