A truly fantastic restaurant in Amsterdam! The cozy outdoor seating area right in front of the church is especially lovely – a really nice atmosphere for dining. The pizza and pasta were absolutely delicious, and the calamari fritti as a starter was also excellent. Everything was fresh, tasted amazing, and was beautifully presented. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. Highly recommended! 🇮🇹🍕👍🏻

My girlfriend had reserved a table. She had called with the same seriousness as you would call 911. As if you could save someone from death by reserving a table. In hindsight, that was justified. The Italian restaurant on the Haarlemmerdijk is a hidden gem right in the middle of one of the city's most famous streets. An Italian oasis in a typical old Amsterdam building. The food you were served could also save someone from death. It could have resurrected someone from the dead if you had held the Mortadella pizza in front of a dead person's nose. It was delicious. Additionally, wine was poured from a carafe. With a recent memory of the movie The Odyssey, we imagined ourselves as Greeks in Sicily. As the icing on the cake, we had ordered the holy trinity for dessert: Tiramisu, Limoncello, and Affogato. It is so good that I dare to write it with a capital letter. After enjoying ourselves for two hours, the realization dawned that one of us had to work the next day. It was time to leave the restaurant. I am saving this restaurant and will wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to dine at Lucca Due on various occasions, and every time it was delicious and incredibly enjoyable. There is truly nothing I can think of that could be even remotely a downside. The food is authentic, fresh, and deliciously prepared, featuring homemade focaccia and divine pizzas and pastas. This makes choosing difficult, so I would recommend picking something different on every visit to sample a lot, or to share with each other. The atmosphere is always lively and bustling, feeling like a warm embrace. In the summer, you can enjoy sitting outside in front of the Posthoornkerk, while in the winter, it is perfectly comfortable inside. The service is exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the prices are very affordable. I am a huge fan and cannot sing the praises of this gem enough; it is always a treat to dine at Lucca Due!

Tasty pizza, but putting an egg on it is immediately charged as Parma ham. I’ve been here often, for birthdays, friends, and family, but I’m looking for another Italian restaurant now. For 3.50, they’ve lost a regular customer. Always check the bill.

All the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was amazing! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We really enjoyed it. There are also vegan options; I had the Marinara pizza. I must say that even though I don't eat seafood, the linguine galberetti looked tasty. I don't understand the negative reviews; maybe they were just having an off day.

Good Italian food but not great. We sat outside by the church which is a charming location. The service was very friendly and attentive.

It was my daughter's birthday and all the staff sang for her. The pizzas were delicious, and so was the dessert. The waiter was nice and there was a very cozy atmosphere on the lovely terrace next to the church. A nice place and definitely recommended!

Fantastic ambiance and the food was mouthwatering. Aside from the standard pizzas and lasagna, they had so much more. Extensive menu, all accompanied by delicious wine. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

The service was terrible, especially from the woman who waited on us when we arrived. She was unfriendly and made the experience unpleasant. The food was below expectations.

The woman who helped us at our arrival was extremely rude and arrogant, and made a fuss over my request to lower the fan speed over my head. The food was just ok, there are much better Italian restaurants in the area. We’ll never go back and don’t recommend it.

With so many “Italian” restaurants in the area I’m glad we stumbled upon this real Italian restaurant. I ordered the Baccala alla Napoletana and it was phenomenal! My wife got the Spaghetti N’duja and it was also great!

What a wonderful experience this was. The dishes were truly fantastic and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The seafood pasta, in particular, was highly recommended. The plates were beautifully presented and generously sprinkled with fresh herbs and cheese. The redcurrant dessert also looked amazing and was the perfect ending to the meal. I will definitely be back here again soon.

Not authentic Italian food. The pizza is fine, but not top-notch. However, it is a really nice location and reasonably priced! So recommended if you just want to eat and sit outside in a nice spot. But don't expect authentic Italian dishes!!

Not the best to say the least. My friend order a pizza and I got the carbonra. The pizza tasted like it looked terrible and carbonra was an assault on my taste buds. The food was so bad I felt they should have paid me to eat there. Just dont bother

We had a really delicious meal at this Italian restaurant. We had the stuffed mushrooms as a starter and that was already incredibly tasty!!! Highly recommended; don't order too much because otherwise you won't be able to finish the pizza or pasta, and you can really enjoy every bite of that. Also a super nice atmosphere, only missed some background music. The staff were super friendly too; we came on a busy evening but were served very well!! Would definitely come back here again 😍 Oh, and not to forget, the prosecco was top-notch too!

Really solid Italian spot in Amsterdam. Service stood out right away friendly, attentive, and honestly not something you always get consistently in the city. The wine list is a big highlight too, with a great range of options that actually pair well with the food. The pasta dishes were generous in portion and full of flavour each one had its own distinct taste and felt well-balanced and fresh. Everything came out well timed and well presented without feeling overdone. Overall, it’s a great option if you’re looking for good food, good wine, and reliable service all in one place.

Fantastic establishment. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The food was very nice. Burrata appetizer had good flavor. Sauce and meat in the main dishes were excellent. Cheesecake for dessert was a good choice.

The door scrapes along the floor, the hallway is musty, but then you find yourself in a beautiful and neat Italian restaurant. Good atmosphere. Tables well positioned. Very warm welcome (yes, in Italian, of course). The Calzone pizza is top-notch, as are the Frutti di mare. Tiramisu is super tasty. Very friendly service! Parking is a bit tricky there, better to go by bike.)

Excellent location! The food was spectacular, very good. We ordered Neapolitan pizza—thin crust, fresh, and perfectly portioned toppings. For a starter, we had polpette calabresi, which was excellent. The menu is very varied. The service is fast, and the food arrives quickly. So if you're hungry, head to this place.

I ate at Lucca Due with a friend on February 27th. The pizza was good, and the atmosphere was great. It was very busy, so luckily we had a reservation. The staff was very friendly, and everything moved along smoothly. The wine was also reasonably priced and delicious. Definitely a place to visit again. We shared a pizza.

It used to be very good here. But now a Pizza Napoletana with 3 small anchovies, 25 disgusting pitted, black-dyed olives from a glass jar (I’d rather have 10 Taggiasche olives), and chewing-gum mozzarella. The crust was still decent. The spinach side dish was fine. Also, it was only 1/3 full on a Wednesday, whereas a year ago you had to fight for a spot. Very nice, understanding guys serving; they were outnumbered by the occupancy rate now, whereas it used to be the other way around. The house red wine is perfectly fine. Conclusion: Chef, spend a little more money on the olives and the cheese.

Me and my family of 15 booked an extremely last minute table last Saturday night and we were all very impressed by the whole experience! The food, the service, and everything else was perfect. Definitely worth going to if you want good quality Italian food with great service near the centre of Amsterdam, wish we could go back sooner!!

Best Italian restaurant by far! My fiancee had a gallery in Haarlemmerstraat for a few years and we used to visit regularly. Today we just felt like going and it is still a treat. Very friendly and fast service, dinner took some time but it was during rush hour so to speak and we didn't mind on the beautiful terrace with some root beer and the usual vodka for me. Dinner was great a veggie calzone for my darling and a rib eye with veggies and baked potatoes on the side. A true delight! (and very reasonable prices) I can recommend to the fullest :) update: still very happy here, even serving late, after 22.00 after visiting opera.

Very crowded on a chilly Thursday evening. Not touristy even though there is an English guide to the menu. Really delicious food and attentive wait staff. Price are reasonable for the quantity and the portion size of the dishes. We split all three dishes and it was plenty. Had an Aperol spritz to accompany.

I come here regularly and have never had any problems, but this time the service was unfortunately disappointing. We wanted to pay a small bill with two debit cards. Two junior servers rudely slammed the card machine on the table and made irritated faces. This behavior was extremely unprofessional. PS: The food is excellent, but junior staff should be better trained or shouldn't work in the restaurant industry if they don't respect customers.

Much can be said about this restaurant, but it's not authentic Italian. The pizza maker clearly lacks inspiration for other dishes. A bowl of melanzane alla parmigiana consists of one slice of eggplant, one tablespoon of canned tomato sauce, and I'd estimate about 200 grams of cheap, tough cheese. If you order funghi al forno, they serve you a metal tray with four chestnut mushrooms stuffed with tough cheese floating in a good inch of their own water. This was inedible. Moreover, bread with herb butter is listed at the top of the menu. Anyway, the coffee is good, and it's not expensive.

Amazing Italian food they have here! I have tried their risotto, pizza, and meatballs and they all taste delicious. Especially the meatball with some bread, simple but always hit the spot:)

Called in here on a cold, busy Friday night with no reservation . The restaurant was extremely busy and unfortunately no tables free. Disappointed we left only to be called back by the restaurant manager who found us a table if we could finish our meal in an hour . Challenge accepted ! Ordered a main meal ( pizza and carbonara ) and we could have easily been in Italy. Great food and fantastic service . Good choice of wines and beers too . Thanks for fitting us in at such short notice . We will definitely be back

Absolutely delicious food. Fried calamari was fresh and crispy, all our mains were delicious (nduja spaghetti, veal, rib eye) and the wines were tasty and well priced. Service was really attentive despite it being such a large and busy place. Really enjoyed eating here

Great restaurant. These places are becoming less and less common in the centre of Amsterdam. It kind of falls apart when you visit the bathrooms, you practically walk through the kitchen and staff area. Also great wines!

If you want a good Italian restaurant, this is the place to be. Not Dutchified at all, but delicious, authentic Italian food, just like you'd find in Italy. I keep coming back. And that tiramisu is to die for!!!

Cozy / gezelig atmosphere with super friendly staff who remember regulars and treat them like family members. Prices are very family friendly and they definitely understand how to prioritize getting food for little ones out to ensure they don't have to wait too long. We ate here for the first time Tuesday evening with three friends after making a reservation. We were running late, which was no problem at all after a phone call. From the outside, it looked super cozy and atmospheric, and that was absolutely true. We received a warm welcome. The wines, pasta, and pizza were delicious! We all enjoyed every bite (there's a wide selection of gluten-free pizzas and pastas)! 😋 Compliments to the kitchen! I will definitely eat here again on my next trip to Amsterdam! Thank you so much!

Great pizza and cocktails! It's always very busy in the evenings, but we still had a very comfortable seat and didn't have to wait long for our food.

The manager is really mean with the employees. We were waiting for our food and she was yelling at them. Honestly we should not encourage place were young people are treated like this. That is why I highly don’t recommend this place.
