Great lunch, tasty nachos and a club sandwich. Not stingy portions!! Fast and friendly service!

Extremely expensive and nothing special. The staff was friendly but not very helpful. We waited over an hour and a half for a simple lunch, even having to raise our hands several times to even order or get a menu. The music inside was very dull. I wouldn't recommend it!!

I visited the Christmas market and ate at this restaurant right by the Vrithof. The daily special was steak with fries; the food was good, but the portion was more like a child's plate. An adult wouldn't get full from that!

Very nice place for a satisfying breakfast. The only negative remark is the service. The waitresses are lovely but the service is too slow, you'll wait 45 minutes minimum for your order. That's a pity because you cannot go if you have other plans right after.

Booked through a social deal. The food was decent, but the service was terrible. I had to ask for a second drink myself, as the waiter was very disingenuous. He spent our entire visit yelling at the other waitress, which could be heard throughout the restaurant, but didn't offer any help himself, and his explanation to her was also terrible. During dessert, there was a hair in the ice cream. After I pointed this out to the waiter, it was returned within 20 seconds. You could still see the spot where the hair was; it had just been removed and extra chocolate sauce had been poured over it. I explained that it wasn't a new dessert, which the waiter went to check and claimed it was. Besides the cold service, it was also incredibly cold in the restaurant; several people at various tables were wearing coats! It was warmer outside on the terrace afterward than inside. Such a shame!

Ate here through Social Deal. We shared a delicious starter: calamari and carpaccio. The main course was sea bream fillet on a bed of vegetables, very tasty. And a generous dessert. Highly recommended.

We were drawn by the beautiful style of the terrace and the dishes served by the guests. We decided to sit inside because we wanted to be with our kids. Inside, it seemed like less effort had gone into the decor. We ordered two sweet dishes for our kids and ordered the more luxurious drinks platter for €23.95, as we didn't want to limit ourselves to fried food. The two stars go to our son's lava cake, which he absolutely loved. The dry waffle for €11 wasn't so great. But then came the drinks platter. It contained a large, sliced ​​pistolet, a kilo of cheese cubed in a small bowl, four mini containers of sauce, and the rest was filled with only fried snacks. Of course, our expectations were also part of the disappointment, but is this really €24? What am I supposed to do with dry bread and a kilo of cheese? Can't this really be topped off with a slice of meat or sausage and a bowl of herb butter? When we asked about something to go with the bread, we were told it was a mini bowl of aioli. It's shameful that this is your "luxury" snack platter and then they charge such a high price. This doesn't belong on the Vrijthof square.

Steak with fries and salad was delicious

Had a fantastic breakfast here! I saw the lovely breakfast menu and it appealed to me. We tried several things and shared them. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a breakfast spot. It was morning, by the way, so the Vrijthof square was still nice and quiet.

We went to Gerard in Maastricht and were unfortunately disappointed overall. While the quality of the food was good and the dishes beautifully presented, the value for money was completely out of this world. The portions are extremely small: a "yogurt bowl" consisted of a few tablespoons of Greek yogurt, a few fruits, and a mini portion of granola – and it cost over €10. The same goes for the pancakes: a small stack of mini pancakes with a few thin slices of apple, what felt like two strawberries, and two grapes. The taste was good, but unfortunately quite overpriced. On the positive side, the location/atmosphere and the relatively attentive staff deserve mention.

There used to be a "corner bakery" here, which was useless, but luckily there's now a decent restaurant where I had a delicious meal with my family!

The seats were very dirty. Staff was very unfriendly and disinterested. Waited 20 minutes for a snack board with 10 fried snacks, a piece of bread and a bowl of cheese and sausage for which you then pay 23.5 euros. Antisocial guests who smoke in your face and shout at the entire terrace, but the staff doesn't say anything about it.

We visited Corner Bakery Maastricht and ordered the American pancakes, French toast, and hot chocolate. While the pancakes and French toast tasted great and were beautifully presented, the hot chocolate was simply warmed-up cocoa, which was a bit disappointing. While the breakfast beer menus were already on the tables, we had to wait for someone to bring us the café menu after we sat down. It would be more convenient if the café menu was also readily available on each table. The staff, mostly friendly and energetic teens, made the experience warm and welcoming. Received very different food than what was on the menu, it said 'freshly baked', but the bread was really hard.

TikTok hype just doesn't cut it. The looks of the food seem to be more important than the taste. The food itself is okay-ish, just not as hyped. Sadly allergy information is not present on the menu nor disclosed by staff. The result is that most stuff is presented on nuts (not great for a lot of people with allergies). Furthermore, some staff seemed to be really bored/annoyed to have to work. Luckily some staff genuinely seemed to like their work and helped customers.

It's really not worth the effort. The staff is unfriendly, the food very mediocre and not fresh. On top of that, the place is not clean either. We won't be coming back here again.

Today I 'tryed' to eat at Corney Bakery. We came in and said that we had a deal for Social deal, but we were not helped with this. We finally sat down ourselves. We asked several times if we could order, but the waiter was busy doing nothing or running around the store to serve food. A family next to us had been waiting for their food for over an hour. Called Social Deal and asked if we could cancel the reservation, which was allowed if we received permission from the employee. Explaining the situation to the waitress, she seemed very irritated by it. Ultimately, the Social deal helped us and canceled the reservation. We will never come back here again.

The cake and pie was old and coffee cold. Very bad!!

Great cherry pie. Was one of most flavorful pies I've had in Europe. The cherry filling was full of cherries and not overly sweet.

We got to know this business through Social Deal. We chose to have breakfast, SD stated that there was a choice between a dish with egg or some kind of granola. This turned out not to be the case upon arrival, but that is a detail. We opted for breakfast with an omelette. Beautiful presentation and very tasty! That's all it took to start the day well! The service is friendly and spontaneous, even a joke is possible. So valuable today! The interior is PINK beautiful, fun, inviting!

Friendly and helpful staff, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food due to lack of staff. We ordered the French toast and two rolls, the rolls were old and this brought down the taste. The quality of the food was not great, not recommended for this price. A nice interior but not worth the price.

I contacted customer service (owner?) via the website and was treated downright rudely. He/she even shared 3 photos with the names of various people who had reserved with them, including the date and time of their reservation... Very unprofessional.

Had lunch here last Monday and the food was excellent. The waitress and the cook were the only ones present that day!!!!! The two of them had to run the entire place while it was busy and hot. This meant that people had to wait longer for their orders and sometimes even the cook had to come out to bring the order to the tables. There was no owner or manager present..... the waitress was running wild!!! This is really not possible! If you don't have enough staff, just leave your tent closed, now your staff will suffer.

Today we are going to Maastricht because tonight we have tickets for Andre Rieu. We found Corner Bakery through Social deal. And ordered a deal here and made a reservation for lunch. Nice place to sit. Too bad about the weather, so half of the terrace is still indoors. Lunch deal was fine. But very sweet and a lot. So if you don't like sweets, you definitely shouldn't order this

We came in and where ignored for 5 minutes we where the only ones there. Than we ordered and waited 30 minutes on pancakes without taste and the staff played games on their phone while we waited on our order.

It was the worst lunch experience ever..They served a salad that is old..And the food came 45minutes after we order..The owner/manager came explained that i ordered mix salad because i complained how bad the salad is..

First of all the service was not it. They didn’t even notice us sitting down because they were chatting in the kitchen and we had to take the menus ourselves. The food also wasn‘t good and absolutely overpriced. The avocado toast with poached eggs was absolute garbage, the bread was stale, the avocado tasteless and the egg tasted like water and weren‘t cooked long enough. The pancakes also didn‘t taste good and I could barely swallow them, there also wasn’t enough fresh fruit. The iced latte was good though, so I‘ll give them that.

Best place to go to if you want a GOOD breakfast, it was really nice there as soon as you walk in you get seated right away, we got treated with respect and they were very helpful when we had questions (we only speak english) the food was really good I don't understand why other people said that it wasn't good, that it was dry etc it is not its literally perfect the only problem was that the plates are decorated poorly in my opinion, it should be decorated with more fruit to make it more full and so that you have enough fruit. Sometimes you visit catering establishments that will always stay with you. The Corner Bakery is one of them, visited on January 15, 2022. If you could give 0 stars for the service, they would have scored it!. The service was so bad that it became a farce to watch for the guests. And with the 3-4 tables at the entrance we were sometimes doubled over laughing, it was so bad. Never done that before. In the hour we spent there, not a single order was taken directly to the correct table. The hot drinks are made painfully slowly, so no one knows where the order should go. Then they walk around outside for a while. No, no one ordered it. Then people go inside the tables, it seems, in random order. With a desperate look in her eyes, the waitress hesitantly heads towards our table, knowing that this time too, things are not right. Did you perhaps order this? ....No, wrong again!!. And then we hear from 2 girls from Maastricht that the service here is always such a mess. 3 girls serving about 21 tables. So only 7 tables each. And only drinks were ordered while they also had food. You would think it was a piece of cake. No!!! An impossible task for the ministry, as it turned out. Despite the fact that about half of the guests left, either paying or after sometimes waiting 45 minutes without receiving their drink. It got even worse. Guests came and wanted to sit down, but to their, and our, great surprise, they heard from the staff that The Corner Bakery was closed. But why is the terrace half full and a quarter of the tables inside are occupied? And that at 3 p.m.... Service desperate... and then the employee stammered out that the manager had indicated that he would no longer help new guests. Or it was such a mess that on a day when you could finally make a lot of turnover, the Corner Bakery had to refuse all new customers at 3 p.m. because of poor service. There was also more entertainment at the Corner Bakery. For example, the waiter dropped a full tray of beer on the floor near the entrance. We, the audience at the 3 tables at the entrance, watched and waited for the cleaning. Unfortunately the service just left it there. Then everyone who came in walked unsuspectingly through a puddle of beer, spreading the bad-smelling stuff all over the floor of the Bakery. Finally, 2 tea towels were thrown on it, swept together a bit and...... left. After 5 minutes the tea towels were also gone. But why do I find it so sad here? Because if you were lucky enough to receive your order, you will drink a more than excellent cappuccino here!!! Too often it doesn't even get that far here.

The food was delicious, but the service was not even worth mentioning. Very long wait to even order. Once the food has been delivered, you will no longer be looked after.

My first review was apparently rejected by Google, for reasons I can't understand. I was only conveying my honest experience of this place, which as you can imagine wasn't very positive since I have never been treated with such disrespectful in a restaurant before.

A pure "Instagram place" - we had to wait an hour for a croissant, when we approached other people who had ordered after us but had also been waiting for a long time, they received our food, so we had to ask twice more. Unfortunately it wasn't tasty either. Definitely not recommended.

Despite the worse reviews, we decided to give it a try. Pleasantly surprised by the choice of the menu; the tuna melt is pretty good! And good price quality. Service was not great, very direct waitress; but another server was very friendly so a mix! The pancakes also looked good, but they didn't make it.

Upon entering we are welcomed in English, as is usual in the better businesses. We are coming up with a SocialDeal offer for a starter, main and dessert for €17.50. So you shouldn't set the bar too high. To start with, we ask for a Porto (a red Porto). The lady who is the only person present in the service who can speak the Dutch language looks as if she sees water burning. Stunned, she asks again and then says; I have to ask that. No, they don't have that, I ask for a Ricard then, visibly irritated she asks again what? To avoid annoyance, I show her the bottle: bottom row 5” bottle from the left. The choice of food is easier, the menu is not extensive but sufficiently diverse. We order pasta (spaghetti) with tiger shrimps and a steak. As she should, the young lady who is constantly arguing with her long hair asks how the steak should be cooked. I ask for “bleu” this is too much, she doesn't know this one, go ask for it in the kitchen, she says, comes back and says that only “rare” is possible, they cook here according to English standards (and you can also tell by the taste). The steak is served rare (medium)! There are still several things happening that are too many to mention, but I will mention a few: Our neighbor has an already used fork in his napkin, the wine is not what is stated on the menu but if it says Sauvignon it is the same as Grenache (see photos) the steak is undersized +~ 100-110 grams our new Belgian neighbor (a greeting as agreed) looks for it when his plate comes, everything you have to ask twice to get once, and the cold chocolate sauce from our Dame Blanche comes when the ice cream runs out. All in all, it is a shame that we were there, the manager who called us reimbursed us for the bottle of wine (I had already indicated after tasting that it was not the wine we ordered) that we drank because of an alternative.

After an hour after ordering, and repeated reminders, no food AND drinks were received, while the rest was served and even paid. Christmas crowds are no excuse. They understood that we did not want to wait any longer.

It took the staff so long to come up to us to order something; I have ordered hot chocolate milk and a coffee both were not good chocolatemilk was bland and coffee felt like as if it was not made from an espress but some old coffee powder; then waiting so long to pay and we saw other people getting their food messed up ; do not recommend and will not come again

Indicated that I had a dairy allergy and that therefore Parmesan cheese was not allowed on my sandwich. After waiting a long time, we received the sandwich and after one bite it turned out to contain parmesan cheese. Shocked and reported to the staff, then unfortunately no apologies. I was offered a new sandwich, but I didn't trust it anymore after that. I will never use this tent again.

Vanochtend hier gaan ontbijten, er zat een grote groep en verder alleen maar kleine tafeltjes. Bestellingen worden niet in de juiste volgorde doorgezet waardoor we een uur hebben gewacht op een yoghurtbowl en American pancakes. Toen hadden we na ruim een uur eindelijk het eten, lag er een haar op het bord. Het eten wordt vervolgens gewoon op een nieuwe bord geschoven en weer voorgeschoteld. Echt niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Super vriendelijke bediening. Wij hadden het 3 gangen menu. Echt heerlijk eten. Snelle bediening. Echt niks op aan te merken!

Net heerlijk gegeten bij dit sfeervolle restaurant. Eten was goed (bij tomatensoep konden meer ballen erin), rest dikke voldoende. Mij zie je zeker nog eens terug komen!

Hier samen met mijn vriend gegeten middels een social deal. Gekozen voor het 2-gangendiner en dit smaakte echt erg goed. De service was prima. Reviews gelezen die claimen minder goede service te hebben ervaren, in ons geval geen last van gehad door af en toe assertief aan de bediening te vragen of we nog iets konden bestellen. Naast het avondeten ook de brunch via social deal gereserveerd. Deze vond ik persoonlijk erg heftig met alle zoetigheden. Mijn vriend heeft er meer van genoten. De Corner Bakery ligt midden tussen de terrassen aan het Vrijthof. Het enige minpunt is dan dat dit terras het ‘s avonds wat rustiger heeft dan de andere terrassen waardoor het iets minder vol/gezellig kan zijn. Verder erg genoten!

Lekker eten, snel geserveerd en vriendelijk personeel.

Leuke plek, lekker gezeten. Fijn dat ze glutenvrij brood hebben, alleen was het echt ontzettend over-priced. 17 euro voor een klein broodje met 1 plakje zalm en wat garnering vonden wij wel heel overdreven, ook 2 euro toeslag voor het glutenvrije broodje.

Een zeer mooie setting waar duidelijk veel tijd is in gestoken! Helaas kan hetzelfde niet gezegd worden van de service en het eten… na 45 minuten wachten kwamen onze gerechten eraan. Helaas waren de red velvet pancakes aangebakken en was er zeer weinig maple syrup bijgegeven. Nadat wij hier zelf om gevraagd hebben, gaf de bediening wel extra syrup zonder dit aan te rekenen. Verder hadden wij de eggs benedict en een avocado smash. Beide werden geserveerd op pistolets die taai waren, waardoor de verhouding brood en toppings niet echt klopte. De toiletten waren niet proper, wat toch jammer is in een horeca zaak. Als dezelfde aandacht voor het interieur ook aan het eten kan gegeven worden dan zou dit een echte hotspot kunnen zijn.

Goede social deal hier gehad. Ruime keuze aan gerechten. Leuk geserveerd en vriendelijke bediening. Een aanrader.

Het broodje met pulled beef was echt fantastisch. Verder een gezellige tent om te lunchen!

Hier gegeten na een social deal aanbieding. Leuke deal, eerlijke verwachting gesteld bij het bestellen, niet extreem perfect eten, maar gewoon goed genoeg. De avond begon met de melding dat de reservering van 18.30 geannuleerd moest worden… óf verzet naar 18.00. Voor dit laatste hebben wij gekozen, maar de wachttijd was lang. 18.00 gezeteld op het terras en ruim 15 minuten gewacht tot onze drankjes opgenomen werden. Tegelijk liep er wél een serveerster over het terras, die zag dat onze tafel leeg was en de menu’s gesloten. Niet heel netjes, aangezien het niet heel druk was, maar er was iemand ziek dus begrip kunnen we opbrengen. Na de bezorging van het eerste drankje begon het lange wachten. Na ongeveer 50 minuten na bestellen toch maar eens gevraagd waar ons eten bleef. Dit vooral omdat andere gasten die later dan ons gingen zitten eerder geserveerd werden. Na de navraag werd de belofte gemaakt dat ze zouden vragen waar het bleef, wij wachten, geen terugkoppeling. Toen kwam het opeens heel snel. Steak, gevraagd medium-rare, gekregen zeker medium tot well-done. Pasta met tijgergarnalen, geen tijgergarnaal te bekennen, die hadden zich vermomd als roze garnaal. Qua smaak prima en zeker wel goed voor de socialdeal prijs. Maar voor de originele menu prijs was dit zeker terug gegaan. Nagerecht, de cheesecake en red-velvet, heel erg de moeite waard! Een beetje aan de koude kant, maar prima. Misschien toch maar hierbij laten en in dat specialisme blijven hangen.

Première fois que nous avons testé cet endroit et nous en avons été satisfait. Que ce soit avec les plats salés, avec des sandwichs très goûteux en passant par le sucré avec des pancakes nous avons beaucoup aimé. La présentation soignée des plats et la décoration de cet endroit sont très appréciables. Le seul inconvénient à relever est peut être le prix, qui reste dans la tranche haute.
