Disappointing, and a real shame... we sat down on the terrace this afternoon at half past three and the waitress gave us the menu and we indicated that we wanted something small to eat, that was fine she said... after well over 20 minutes she came over (my husband had already gone inside to ask if we could order) and said that we could all stay seated if we both ordered a dish, no starter or anything like that!! An Italian restaurant that wants you to start dining before four o'clock, that is really not customer-friendly... we said that we wanted to share a pizza but that wasn't allowed either. Seriously... I've never experienced anything like this before!!

We ate pasta with tomato sauce... well, "Bolognese" is a bit of an exaggeration. The amount of Bolognese sauce and pasta was quite small, even if the flavor was there. When we asked for extra grated cheese, we were astonished to be charged €2 for a tiny container. We sensed they were in a hurry to vacate the table. The waiters kept coming to ask if we wanted anything else, which put us under pressure and greatly disrupted our conversations, as there were two couples. The partner of the other couple even told us he was leaving because it bothered him. At one point, we asked if they could hold the neighboring table for us while the second couple arrived, as they were just a few meters away, but they refused. The response was, "We don't reserve tables." I find this response extremely unprofessional. It's clear this establishment prioritizes profit excessively over customer service. The place is nice but we won't go back.

The salami pizza is big, good for sharing between two people. Ample seating in an air conditioning modern room with an open kitchen.

This is a nice little Italian restaurant. The service was excellent. The food was decent, they have a good variety of pizza and pasta. A little seating outside, not a ton of seating inside. I imagine it gets really busy on weekends.

We stopped here for lunch of pasta and lasagne and were not disappointed. Friendly service and the Italian food was excellent and at a reasonable price. You can sit inside or on the pedestrian area in front of the restaurant.

A nice Italian restaurant with a good selection of pizzas and pastas. There are many different options on the menu, and the food was of quite good quality. We enjoyed the meal. The only downside was the atmosphere: it was rather noisy, with loud music, and the place felt quite tight, so with people talking it was not very comfortable. Overall, a good restaurant, especially if you are looking for Italian food.

We ate there as a couple and had reserved in advance. We were given a table right next to the sink, which wasn't very pleasant. We ordered a starter, a pizza, and a pasta. The starter and the pizza were fine, but the pasta carbonara had curdled. The bottom of the plate was covered in oil and the egg was very lumpy. Because of this, I didn't finish everything. When we mentioned this, it was ignored. Finally, we wanted to order dessert. Although there were only 4 desserts on the menu, the dessert we wanted was not available. Overall, not a bad experience, but it's a shame about the pasta and especially that this comment was ignored.

Very cozy and charming restaurant with good Italian cuisine

Yesterday I went here by myself. The food was delicious! The waitresses were incredibly sweet. They regularly asked if everything was okay and even came over for a chat because I was alone. Definitely recommended for the food and the atmosphere :)

Very bad stay!!! We came with our dog, after serving the first course, we got kicked out the restaurant, because our small dog slept on the bench next to us. When we came we ask speciality for permission for the dog, it was no problem. Please dont‘t Support a Restaurant Like this. Quality questionable and very pet (dog) unfriendly. We were here just before Christmas. Reservations are essential. The pizza is delicious. We were just shocked when we got the bill... a bottle of water costs 8 euros. We've never experienced that before at a restaurant.

Not recommended. Poor service, very arrogant and unwelcoming. The food wasn't great either. Part of our group canceled at the last minute, for which we apologized, but upon checkout, we were charged a no-show fee (€25 per person), even though we never agreed to this. We didn't want to argue, so we paid the fee, but it turned out that two people too many had been charged for no-shows. The restaurant, however, was unwilling to offer a refund or discuss the matter. I'm left with a very unpleasant feeling about the evening.

One Sunday, a couple with a 3-year-old child and a baby in a stroller. Warm welcome, attentive waitress, quick service and delicious food.

When you arrive a little early and are told it's so busy that they unfortunately can't release your table any earlier than your reserved time, you know you're walking into a place that serves good food. Both the simple bruschetta, which tasted phenomenal, and the pasta we ate were top-notch. Despite the crowds, there's a strong team that works with enthusiasm and it shows: a place to remember!

What a wonderful restaurant! We really enjoyed the food here! The staff were also incredibly sweet and friendly. If you're in Maastricht, I highly recommend stopping by for a bite to eat. We also forgot to bring a pair of pants that we'd bought in town, and the staff mailed them to us the next day—so sweet!

A good restaurant we visit regularly, though not every now and then. They don't offer complimentary sides (like baguette, olives, etc.) and the prices have increased quite a bit. However, the pizzas are good quality and size; I wouldn't recommend the pasta. I would always recommend making a reservation, as the place is often very busy. The service and kitchen are efficient. We're usually out within an hour.

What a lovely way to end our day in Maastricht! 🍕 At TOMATO, we enjoyed delicious pizzas, super friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. After making a quick call, we were told that Frenkie the Frenchie was also very welcome — super nice! 🐶 Inside, the seating is a bit close together, so it’s nice and lively… or as they say here: “Noisy? We stopped by this place spontaneously. An attentive young lady found us a cozy table. We didn't have to wait long for our order. The pizza was great, as was everything else we ordered. The prices were good, too. If we're ever in Maastricht again, we'll definitely be making a point of going back to this place.

When we arrived, it was busy; the outside was packed, but inside there was still a table available for an hour. No problem, because the kitchen was fast and the food was on the table quickly. The pizzas were thin, authentic Italian, and of good quality. The pasta was also delicious. Friendly staff completed the experience. A nice place for a quick but satisfying meal.

After placing an order for apperol spritz and two coffees, we were told that drinks are only served with food. It wasn’t even busy times. Therefore 1.

We enjoyed the food, but the service was unfortunately very unfriendly. We're not big eaters, so we wanted to share two main courses among three people, but our waiter wouldn't allow it. I've never seen a minimum order requirement in a restaurant. We were forced to order an extra dish, which ultimately resulted in us throwing away a large portion. It was both unfortunate and unnecessary. We won't be back.

Friendly, attentive and quick staff when serving pizzas, everything was perfect and the food was very good.

We sat down on the terrace. There were three of us, and a waitress suggested we push two tables together. We did. A few minutes later, a second waitress, probably the manager, arrived and said, "You can sit at one table." She then proceeded to separate the tables again. We didn't like how this was handled. The first waitress apologized, and the second reacted indignantly when we pointed this out. We then left.

The food was truly delicious. A variety of pastas and pizzas. Delicious! And a lovely little street. Good, friendly service.

Fancy a pasta or pizza? Tomato is located in a side street of the OLV square. I have enjoyed the truffle ravioli pasta several times. Also try one of the pizzas. These are crispy and have a thin base.

Excellent food but terrible service. Plates are “thrown” onto your table by the English-speaking girl. She runs through the store in a hurry and is especially irritated when you want to look at the map. Here it is not about food or service but about speed and turnover. As soon as the voucher is presented at the table, you can pay and go immediately. Don't go here for a pleasant evening where you want to quietly enjoy 3 courses.

Today I had dinner here for the first time with a friend (the first time for me) it really exceeded my expectations (in terms of food) I ate delicious bruchetta beforehand and opted for the truffle ravioli as a main course. Both were really delicious. Neatly served. Service is very friendly. And regularly ask if everything is still to your satisfaction. What is a pity is that you are only allowed to sit for 1.5 hours. I personally think this is a bit short and also very unfortunate. Then you keep looking at the clock regularly and rush a little more. You don't go there for a quick bite. In terms of location, it is all very close together. You can follow the neighbors' conversations and almost eat from their table. This could change somewhat and also in terms of dining time. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I definitely want to go back in the future.

The food was delicious, but the service really left a lot to be desired. The food and drinks were served quickly, but it soon became apparent that this was not due to the speed of the service, but because they needed the table back quickly. You are simply ignored at your table. After an hour and a half you put down €100 and are told that our table is really needed NOW (without any empathy for that), while the people next to us are already waiting. No, not a second time for us.

I wouldn't really call it a restaurant, no manager or someone who does his/her best to provide service. Not even once to ask if everything was okay or if we wanted a drink, no. We ordered pizzas and they were very difficult to cut due to the dull knives, the pizzas had hardly any taste and even little or no pizza cheese on them. The crusts were also extremely dried out, what a travesty. So bad service, bad atmosphere as everyone shouts and screams like a drunkard, and then the price for such a bad pizza... don't recommend it to anyone, unfortunately this ruined the special evening.

We often come to Koestraat when we go to Maastricht, but the first time was at Tomato. No regrets, beautiful starters, Brushetta and a plank of Parma ham, as an entree, we were really hungry, half a pizza with chicken each and the main courses, linguine Vongole and pasta Charlotte. All beautiful flavors. For desserts we chose a Tiramisu with a glass of Amaretto and the Scroppino with a limoncello. Unfortunately we didn't have room for coffee anymore, but that will come next time. Thank you team Tomato 🍅 We would love to come back.

Pasta and pizza are the trump cards here and the side salad that was available to order was also rich. The service was very friendly and the food was very tasty. There is a small street terrace that is heated by radiant heaters in cold temperatures and makes sitting outside pleasant. The interior is small and modern and offers a nice atmosphere when the house is full.

They didn’t have “tapwater”, not kind at all. We were pretty cold but didn’t wanna close the door. And they didn’t have cocktails because there was no mixer??????

I arrived in the restaurant and the young girl was welcoming, she served us our drinks and explained a little about the menu. What I didn't like at first about the presentation was that the cutlery was in the wood in the cans, which for me is not serious. A restaurant. We ate and the pizza dough is terrible. We still ate it and they didn't serve us any hot sauce at the beginning, in parentheses I'm picky about this. When we were eating there was an hour left before the restaurant closed and the time was agreed to take out the trash for us. This has plenty more to name who couldn't resist this smell. I'm still happy because we had a good time in a friendly setting, which is why the atmosphere was five out of five and the service in general I put it at one. I would like to point out that this is a unique experience among many others. And I would like this not to influence your experience, eat well and take care of yourself

Great pasta and pizza restaurant in a unique location!

Highly recommended, very helpful staff. There was an error when entering our order so we had to wait a while, but they resolved this by giving us an appetizer on the house. The rest of our food soon followed, we ordered two pizzas and the ravioli. The ravioli is definitely recommended, there is a lot of choice between classic pizzas and various special pizzas. Afterwards we also ordered a tiramisu for dessert, which was also very tasty. We ended the evening with a shot of limoncello, a nice place everywhere, cozy terrace and friendly staff.

Very nice restaurant. Large portions of starter, great to share with 2-3. We were quickly helped by a nice English lady. Starters tasted nice and came quickly, as did the drinks. Wide choice on the menu in pizza and pasta. Asked if we could go on the terrace and this was no problem when a spot became available. Main course also came at the right time, portions as you would expect. Nice ladies who served us, great people. Nice terrace as well as a nice restaurant inside. Nice and lively street with a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommended!! Price-quality ratio is right, Heerlie de Peerlie. Had a nice evening. (they had no apple juice, bummer)

Tasty freshly prepared food, delicious! Recently been there again, the food is still good, but the speed at which the food arrives makes you feel a bit rushed. Too bad because I really like the food, I didn't have that experience before.

Not recommended if you come to eat with a group. On the advice of my brother, I had dinner here once and liked it so much that I recommended Tomato to my colleagues to eat here as a team outing. The food itself was good, but Tomato cannot handle groups of 10 people. Both not as space as the staff. When making a reservation by telephone, my colleague had already commented that the group was actually too large and there was a time slot of 2 hours. Our group was placed at the entrance, which made the passage difficult for other customers and the staff themselves, resulting in a full tray falling over one of our group. This was not accommodated in any way by Tomato's staff. We have already asked several times beforehand to be seated differently, but apparently that was not possible in any way. The food was ok but the inexperience and insincere friendliness of some of the female staff made us decide that we will not eat here again.

Ate here on King's Day. Nice atmosphere on the terrace in the cozy Koestraat. Girlfriend ordered Lasagna and another Spaghetti. Ordered Ravioli in butter and sage myself. The amount I received was not in proportion to that of the others. Was really too little; more like an appetizer. Have indicated this; was not really addressed. Shame. I was only asked if I had enjoyed it. Taste was okay. The Tiramisu was very tasty.

Finally a great restaurant with a great menu. The pizza is world class: Delicious dough, original Italian style, great toppings and mozzarella cheese. The other dishes were also convincing. We were positively surprised by the price/performance ratio. 5 stars for the overall package.

We discovered the TOMATO restaurant by chance. The menu in front of the stylish restaurant appealed to us, plus the restaurant was very full. The reviews online also gave us a green light. So get in there! We didn't have a reservation, but we were lucky. We received a nice two table next to the open counter/kitchen. The map is small but nice. Our choice was: Pizza Quadro Formaggi with Extra Pulled Chicken, and truffle ravioli with mushrooms. Plus homemade iced tea. What can I say? Both dishes were a 9 out of 10! Really tasty, very good portion and truly a joy to eat. I ate both with a splash of chili oil (my insider tip) and a pinch of salt. Oof! So so good. The prices are ok for this quality. We paid just under €47 for the pizza, truffle ravioli and 2 iced teas. We felt comfortable, the service was good, the food was great. As I said, the restaurant is stylish, the toilet is clean. You can pay in cash or by card. The best pizza and ravioli I've ever eaten in Holland. We'd love to come back. My absolute recommendation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
