Highly recommended if you enjoy fine dining, amazing food and wine! You should definitely order coffee at the end of the meal as it comes with a selection of homemade petit fours with includes an incredible madeleine, the best I've ever had.

Had a delicious meal on a fairytale terrace!

In good weather, dine on one of The Hague's most beautiful terraces on Lange Voorhout. Here you can enjoy delicious food and a fine wine list. I love coming here.

I don't know why we were not allowed to eat in. There was only one table of guests inside, but they didn't let us in. The reason was that we didn't have a reservation, but the last time we went there, we could eat in without a reservation. I asked again, and they said there were only two people in the kitchen and they only prepared food for 30 people, so they didn't let us in without a reservation, but we could usually go in at will. This is very strange. The restaurant didn't prepare food. I don't know when it would inexplicably become a reservation system, and when it would be possible to eat in at any time. It is very likely that the restaurant staff just don't want to work and can arbitrarily refuse customers from eating in. It is a very arrogant restaurant.

Place was fairly empty on a Saturday night - some people sitting outdoors but none indoors. I asked the host if it was possible to sit indoors near a charging plug, the host asked if I’d be eating, I said I’d just have a drink and appetizer. He said “he needed to check” and went into the restaurant. In the meantime, I used the restroom, which is right by the entrance. When I came out, I went back to the host stand and another server came up and said “if someone says no you’re not allowed, you have to leave, you can’t use the bathroom.” I said “that’s not what happened so …?” And then he checked with the host who confirmed it. Yet he still said they were “too busy” (all empty seats inside and many outside) and wouldn’t let me sit and have an appetizer lol. The only excuse I can think of is if there’s a dress code (I was dressed casually) — that’s fine, but they didn’t say so. Seemed very judgmental and inappropriate.

The food is always top notch at Cottontree City. The service is precise and calm. Today we ate outside on the terrace; very pleasant.

Excellent meal for 4 including fried duck liver with apple, and fried scallops with chicory and Serrano ham as a starter and crispy fried sweetbreads and grilled beef entrecote with asparagus as a main course. Highly recommended for a delicious, cozy evening out!

Location beautiful, atmosphere in the restaurant good. Dishes like paintings and perfect taste. Compliments to the chef. But don't forget the host and hostess, friendly, and knowledge of the dishes. Good wine. Highly recommended, and I will definitely come back.

- Room very restless, because many tables are placed in much too small a space. - The food was of good quality, but lacks dimension in terms of taste. - The meals are not main courses. This is misleading. It is recommended to take 3 to 5 main dishes to be somewhat satiated. - The only vegetarian or vegan options are all with goat cheese. That's not enough variety. The cook also indicated that the goat cheese could not be served separately. This means that the vegetarian or vegan dishes are not freshly made after ordering, but are waiting to be reserved. A self-respecting chef uses fresh ingredients for every dish and does not use dishes that are made in advance. + Service is fine. + Toilet room is fine. There is potential, but it hasn't materialized yet.

Cenamos aquí la última noche de 8 en Bélgica y los Países Bajos. Fue por mucho el stand - comida fuera de nuestro viaje. Es un espacio muy bonito, con mesas bien - espaciado y tranquilo (aunque el restaurante estaba bastante ocupado). La comida era excepcional, con su algo peculiar, no hay entrantes o entradas, simplemente mezclar y combinar como desee, que funcionó muy bien. El personal de camareros era especialmente excelente, cálido, amable, bien informado y profesional. Un restaurante realmente genial.

Cela fait déjà quelques années que nous connaissons ce restaurant et notre satisfaction est toujours au max. Cette fois nous y sommes allés deux fois pour y apprécier un dîner parfait avec un accueil des plus agréables. Il est évident que nous poursuivrons cette fréquentation ultérieurement.

Terrible and extremely rude staff! I came to eat at this place because i normally like French restaurants but the way they talk to the guests is not nice. The food wasn’t warm. Overall i would recommend not to come here their are a lot of better places to go in The Hague.

Booked lunch for a group of 12 people. After the lunch was charged 120 euro (12 euro per person) as a reservation fee. Wasn't informed about it at the moment of booking.

Pleasant introduction to this restaurant; What is striking is the genuine hospitality of Manon, the hostess, immediately upon entering. A restaurant in which the influence of a private owner is palpable is always pleasant. Missed too much these days. Price/quality is very good. We ate the theater menu. The preference for the bowl is striking 😀. This will be our regular address when visiting the theater. Next time we hope to sit on the red plush 😉

We had the four course theatre menu, the food is a nice tasty surprise plus fast, personal and friendly service. They took into account that we were going to a show afterwards and took care that we were done on time to leave for the theatre.

A very atmospheric restaurant on the beautiful Lange Voorhout. We thoroughly enjoyed Dimitri's 5-course menu with matching wines. We started the meal with delicious oysters. The entire Cottontree City team made our evening wonderful.

I would have appreciated a brief explanation when the courses were served, which was sometimes lacking, making us feel a bit overwhelmed. Friendly and enthusiastic, relaxed atmosphere and delicious food with consistent quality.

I had dinner here last night, I won’t be back here or recommend it, half an hour waiting to take our food order, 2 hours for 3 courses, 2 starters one main, we didn’t want to wait another hour to order dessert so we left, the service was strange, a young male server wanted to come to our table but the lady working told him he’s not to go there, the noise of them preparing the tartare in the dinning room is annoying. The food was bland, the lobster bisque avoid the smell of the bisque was terrible, the prawn dish was ok and the scallops where not cooked great. Won’t be back.

We had dinner here with a group of ten persons and it was absolutely fantastic! The ambience felt luxurious and unique further the food was outstanding. We opted for the three course menu which was the chefs choice and a fanatic combination of flavors. We will come for sure again!

Twee maal per jaar komen wij van de UK naar Den Haag en elke reis begint met een diner in de Cottontree. Ook dit keer waren wij meer dan “pleased” over de keuze aan heerlijke gerechten. Mijn Octupus was een droom en mijn vrouw genoot van lobster risottto. Wij vinden dat Cottontree een waardige kandidaat voor een Michelin star is in vergelijking met een soortgelijk M-star restaurant in de UK. Later in het jaar zullen wij zeker Cottontree weer bezoeken.

Tuve una cena absolutamente increíble en este restaurante en una fría noche de lunes. Mi comida sorpresa de 4 platos con maridaje de vinos a juego fue absolutamente de primera categoría. Cada plato sabía muy bien a los vinos eran complementarios a la comida. El personal era encantador para trabajar, muy amable y sabía lo que están hablando. Este es sin duda un lugar para recomendar y volver.

It's not the first time when we come here. I really love their food and atmosphere, but service is always a lottery. Sometimes it's nice, but last time they took our order and... completely forgot about us. When we asked after almost 1 hour waiting (nobody even approached us again), it turned out that nobody is aware about our order. That's very sad. Food is nice, I do recommend to take tasting menu, but keep in mind that service can ruin whole impression. Unfortunately.

A party every time, everything is just right! I come here with friends to have a quiet, extensive lunch and to catch up. And in the meantime, enjoy the delicious dishes, the wine recommendations and the pleasant approach of the service. My favorite in The Hague!

Ein megatolles schnukeliges Lokal. Super tolles Ambiente fantastisches Personal. Tolle Küche. Maga geile Vorspeisen aus der Küche. Nicht nur diese sorgten für eine Gaumenexplosion. Wann immer ihr in Den Haag seit. Für mich ist diese Lokalität ein Muss. Ein besonderes Lob an die deutschsprachige Bedienung gebürtig aus dem Sauerland. Da liebt jemand seine Tätigkeit.

El restaurante “Cottontree City” se encuentra bajo los majestuosos árboles del histórico Lange Voorhout de La Haya. Tuvimos un almuerzo agradable aquí después de visitar Escher en Palais. La ubicación era agradable y estábamos sentados en el jardín. El servicio era bueno, sin embargo, la calidad de la comida estaba por debajo de las expectativas en este restaurante caro.

What a relaxed yet typical Hague restaurant, but it could easily be located in Paris. Knowledgeable staff, beautiful stately surroundings and, above all, delicious dishes. We definitely recommend it! And oh yes, we ate on the beautiful terrace...definitely recommended!!!

We came for lunch. After being asked if we had made a reservation (no), we were assigned a spot. Admittedly the only place in the sun (warm July afternoon) while many tables, in the shade, were empty. To our surprise, another group arrives, also not reserved, they sit down in the shade and nothing is said. The chairs are comfortable! The food: delicious. Small dishes, yes! The staff: we were helped by both a friendly lady and an extremely arrogant young man.

Cottontree City by Dimitri is an attractive restaurant in a prime location in The Hague. The food was delicious, quality was good and taste impressive. Each course was a work of art and a taste sensation. Personally, I liked the veal loin the most, but the half lobster and octopus were also very tasty. Staff and owners were friendly. Enjoyed a beautiful evening of fine dining!

You can enjoy a relaxing meal within walking distance of Diligentia and the Royal Theater and between the Escher museum and the former American embassy (guided tour possible and art viewing at Art Institution West). Friendly welcome, pleasant service, delicious choice of dishes. Vegetarian is also very good and very tasty. But it could be shown in more detail on the map. Theater menu works fine. Chairs are ok, the benches are lovely. Atmosphere is like a living room. You will quickly feel at home there. Irish Coffee is not on the menu but is also very well executed

We were kindly received at Cottontree in the most beautiful neighborhood of The Hague. The tables are spaciously arranged so that you have plenty of space. The dishes were all very tasty and looked fantastic. The wine list also certainly contains nice wines. And in our opinion the bill was excellent value for money. We would love to come back to Cottontree and definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had a delicious meal together at Cottontree. Tasty and beautifully prepared dishes and friendly service.

It remains a fantastic experience. They have continued to surprise for years. The food is great, the service is great, the wine is great, the atmosphere is great, the decor is great, the location is great. This is a restaurant that you look back on in the evening and think: “It's so good.”

We just loved this restaurant so much. We sat at a beautiful round table . The service was perfect. Our waitperson described how the menu was set up, cold to warm, lighter to a bit bigger bites. One stand out dish was the tuna. So many flavors in each bite. We ate and chatted until the end of the night !

This is a very good location to eat. Food is good, ambiance is good, price is good. The place is a small and simple space, dimensions like a shoebox. I noticed more 2 person tables than in a normal restaurant. My visit was on a monday evening, and later on that evening all tables where occupied. Many people, just like me, had no reservation. It will be easy to feel comfortable, if you go casual or more formal, both is possible. It is nearby the main theater of the Hague. One of the questions asked at the beginning is how much time you want to spend for the dinner; excelent. Staff is quick and gives very good service. They explain the dishes, and are a good help during the ordering phase. The attitude is very friendly. The concept of the dishes is that they are all small, inbetween starter and main dish. I ordered two dishes and they served them after each other. I didn't specify any order, and they made the most logical choice for me. I am sure you can arrange it anyway you wish. The menu has a lot of entries, it will be easy to eat here several times without the need to eat twice the same dish. On the website you can find the menu (dutch and english) and the wines too. Food itself was high quality. And this applies to everything: even the bread was served in a perfect way and had an amazing taste. The dishes were not too complicated, but showed the main ingredients in a way you can enjoy them best, without distractions, but with a splendit arrangement and support. If you like you can have some side dishes (very friendly priced). I had fried duck liver, with a crispy crust and a warm and soft interior part that melted away in my mouth. Also the sweetbread was a heavenly sensation. The drinks were nice, very good wine options and enough knowledge of the staff on this supject. The place is very clean, the toilets more spacious than expected and spic and span! It is not the cheapest restaurant around, but I judge the value for money as very good!

For an early Valentine's Day lunch, that was just perfect: classy place, friendly and elegant service without being over-the-top, tasty AND tasteful cuisine, creative without being artificially complicate... Excellent balance!

Delicious, surprising dishes, chef's menu with matching wines. The service was great! Too bad we don't live in The Hague :)

What a pearl in the beautiful center of The Hague. Really delicious food and delicious house wine. Reservations via the internet were also very easy. We would like to come back here and would also like to mention the super enthusiastic service and they were also able to explain very well about, in this case, the Sweetbread (delicious by the way) Nice design, all small portions, but 2 to 3 per person and a delicious dessert were more than enough for us.

Cosy restaurant with an inviting ambience had us seated for a 3-course dinner, chef’s selection. The North Sea crab salad, to start, followed by the monk fish and muscles, and a chocolate/cheese dish with lemon sorbet as a desert. We found that the salad had well balanced strong flavours, that packed a punch with each bite. The monk fish was lightly cooked and sat in a saffron infused sauce, however did not pack as much of a flavour-filled bite as the starter, and the desert felt a little mismatched, even though the sorbet was outstanding. The service, whilst punctual, brought the starter too quickly as we didn’t have enough time to finish the appetisers. But the staff were friendly and attentive, even taking the time to explain each dish to us in both English and Dutch. For the food experience and French cuisine, we felt it was decent value for money.

Nice restaurant, in a beautiful location. Wine good, prices reasonable. Service was variable, but got better when it became a bit quieter. Took 5 course menu, course 1-3 top. Gang 4: Bavette too stiff and really too smokey. Course 5: Ice cream too peppery/spicy, which would have been ok if there had been a nice counterpart in terms of taste.

We had a great evening here with friends for the second time! We opted for the 5-course menu: every course is a culinary surprise of the highest level and so 'eating out' really becomes an 'evening out'. Everything is right about this restaurant: the service, the size and quality of the dishes, the intervals between courses, the location (more than enough parking nearby), the decor and finally of course the price/quality ratio. Regarding the pricing: we spent EUR 80-90 per person, but that was also because we didn't skimp on anything and it was more than worth it! If you dine here, you will definitely not be disappointed!

Great attentive service and wonderful food. Especially impressed with the wine pairing which was explained perfectly by the young sommelier. All in all a really great experience.

Afgelopen zaterdag weer eens met veel plezier gegeten bij Cottontree City by Dimitri. Deze keer met een groep van 8 vrienden. Vooraf onze wensen (o.a. allergieen) aangegeven en vanaf binnenkomst feilloos opgepakt door het team. Zo goed als de start met een mooi glas champagne, zo fijn hebben we onze avond geeindigd. Blij dat iedereen aan tafel bij mij terug kwam met hoe fijn en lekker ze het hebben gevonden. Dat wil ik graag via deze weg ook aan het team nog even doorgegeven!

Excellent food and service with matching prices however the decor of the place borders on kitch. It's not a deal breaker but something I would consider before booking a restaurant.

Super fijn restaurant, heerlijke sfeer, goeie stoelen/banken, heerlijk eten. Rustig, ontspannen, bediening zeer goed. Wij hadden theatermenu, 4 gangen, niet goedkoop wel heel goed. Als je groter eter bent dan is het wellicht net iets te weinig. Keurig op tijd weer weg voor theater! Genoten!

Cottontree City is een van onze favoriete restaurants in Den Haag. Zaterdag hier met twee vrienden uit Duitsland gegeten, een echte wijnliefhebber en iemand die meerdere georganiseerde reizen in Europa heeft gemaakt langs restaurants met twee of drie sterren in de Guide Michelin. Beiden waren vol lof over de avond bij Cottontree, over de wijnen en over de kwaliteit van het eten, tegen het sterren niveau aan voor een prijs die ver onder die van een strerrenrestaurant ligt. Gault Millau zou dit restaurant zeker een punt meer mogen geven (14 ipv 13). Over de sfeer en de bediening waren onze vrienden ook vol lof.

Op hun prachtige terras aan het Lange Voorhout gegeten. Eten, bediening, ambiance, alles was perfect. We komen graag terug.

Heerlijke avond gehad met mooie gerechten en goede wijnen. Na aanvang diner was de tijd tussen de gangen wat lang maar later werd dit beter. De gerechten zijn met zorg samengesteld (5 gangen). Mooie plek om buiten te zitten bij goed weer.

Heerlijk gegeten, op een van de mooiste locaties van Den haag. Het weer zat mee, dus we konden fijn genieten buiten op het terras. Fijne smaken, en dito wijnen vooral het dessert was van hoogstaand niveau.

De ambiance is al bijzonder: onder de bomen van het voorname Voorhout, tussen de zeer Haagse gasten en op de achtergrond het geroezemoes van de stad met trams en auto’s in de verte en een enkele voetganger en fietser wat dichterbij. Het eten is voortreffelijk: klassiek en eigentijds tegelijk, zonder fratsen, maar zeer zorgvuldig bereid met uitstekende verse ingrediënten. Bij de gerechten zitten weinig groenten. Daarom doe je er goed aan die er apart bij te bestellen.

Heel lekker,ongelooflijk vriendelijke , professionele bediening. We hebben iedereen van het personeel , behalve de afwassers, aan tafel gezien. Zo konden we iedereen ook bedanken voor hun eigen inzet in de keuken. Een aanrader!

Het eten en de wijnen waren goed. Maar de bediening was (te) langzaam en niet alert.

tijdens onze citytrip hier 2 maal gaan dineren in 3 dagen ! aanrader op elk gebied ! wij gaan regelmatig in ons Belgie ( Brugge ) uit eten en kunnen dus vergelijken : hier prijs / kwaliteit meer dan oké. wordt onze favoriet in Den Haag !!!

Toevallig neergestreken op het sfeervolle buitenterras, vroeg op een vrijdagavond. De gastvrouw was heel vriendelijk, super attent, het was overduidelijk dat zij hier thuis was. Ook de andere collega's van de bediening vroendelijk, bescheiden, professioneel, helemaal prima. We aten elk 2 gerechten en dessert à la carte. Elk gerecht was tot in de puntjes verzorgd, zag er leuk uit en was perfect gegaard en op smaak gebracht. Bij de koffie kregen we nog een bakje vol met heerlijks, alles leek zelfbereid (de madeleines waren verrukkelijk). En verwarmde zetelkussens omdat het wat afgekoeld was. Een heerlijke ontvangst en die Dimitri kan een stukje koken! Wat ons betreft een grote aanrader!
