Le Café in Wijk 28 Centrum

Cozy small living room/bistro idea. Good food and pleasant staff. Somewhat small tables. But oh well...

Starter was good But Bavette sauce of your choice, nothing noticed or requested. And for a French touch, what a disappointment the cheapest fries were, shame that they serve this with it. The Bavette was too dark, but you only noticed that when it was in your mouth because it was too dark to see it for me, not a second time

French cuisine, delicious food, but could be a little better, tastes differ. Picturesque.

Food was good, had the bavette and the duck, bavette is tender and tasty, though the greens surrounding it were slightly chewy and there may be better alternatives as a side. Duck was really tasty as well as the lentils that come with it. Portion are a bit small for the price but I was no surprise for French cuisine. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was nice

Just a typical cafe, maybe the chef had an off day, food was not ok, steak well done instead of rare. Fries were lukewarm, very overpriced

I can truly and enthusiastically share that Le Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in The Hague. It's small, it's romantic and the service is a combination of very personal but knows how to keep the right distance. What I especially praise is the convenience of Le Cafe: sit, order, eat and enjoy. Not those endless maps with words that no one recognizes or would ever want to recognize (although you do have to know a little about French cuisine, otherwise you will search crazy on Google, the map is a simple chalkboard). My friend and I enjoyed an oyster, escargot and the rillette appetizer (all three perfect portions, even if your friend is a big eater). We chose the steak tartare as a main course, also a good portion (even for a big eater Martin). I even thought it was the tastiest steak tartare so far! In short: go!!

Very cute place with nice music and a good atmosphere. It was very quiet when we were there, but that didn't bother us. The service was fast and they were very attentive. The wine and food were tasty and not too expensive! Definitely recommended :)

We walked in unexpectedly during a rain shower and ended up with a delicious chevre chaud salad and, above all, lots of good wine! Very cozy and not pretentious!

Delicious food. The rilettes were good and the bavette was so tender to suck. It is indeed a café-like restaurant (in the very nice entertainment area of ​​The Hague) with the tables close together and a bit noisy, but a nice atmosphere. Service friendly and fast.

Unbelievably bad food, very strange pieces of fried foie gras with a pile of sauerkraut in the middle, but also pieces of tomato, oysters from Aldi or something, kidneys completely fried in a kind of soup and in strips, bad wine was not allowed to be exchanged, really too much for 180 euros just the two of us, because a deception will never happen again, also 10 euros for piano repeat music pfffffff what a scam, this Frenchman thinks that all Dutch people have no idea about good food, he was just wrong, seriously!!!

Un bon repas, une bonne ambiance, que demander de plus... Ha oui, les vins sont trop chers... 17€ pour un pichet de vin rosé de 50cl de la maison, c'est beaucoup trop... Et ne vous fiez pas au menu 'en ligne', le moins cher affiche les prix de l'année passée, avant l'inflation... :-)

Wat hebben wij een fijne avond gehad. Le café geeft een soort woonkamer gevoel. Het is even wennen als je hier voor het eerst komt, het is anders dan gewend ( wat het ook heel leuk maakte ). De gastheer stond alleen, hierdoor moest hij zijn aandacht verdelen. Toch kwam hij heel vriendelijk over en niet gehaast. We hadden de rillete, deze was echt fantastisch, zo lekker!! Ook hadden we de steak tartaar en de bavette, deze twee zijn ook echte aanraders. Wauw wat was dit eten lekker, ook de oesters waren geweldig. Het charcuterie bordje deed onder aan onze verwachtingen. We komen zeker terug en raden iedereen aan om hier te komen voor veel gezelligheid en lekker eten.

Ontzettend leuk, klassiek Frans restaurant! 🇨🇵 De gerechten waren echt fenomenaal en de wijn was goed. Het voorgerecht (1 steak tartaar) duurde alleen wel lang 😕 Ook begreep ik van mijn tafelgenoten dat de man en vrouw die ons bedienden veel met elkaar bezig waren, maar ik zag daar weinig en vond ze vooral vriendelijk! Kom zeker nog een keer terug 😃

Update: Ja hoor het is hier nog steeds heel leuk lekker en gezellig! Eerder: In het Haagse hofkwartier waan je je hier even in Frankrijk! Fijne kaart en fijne mensen.

Zo zo zoooo lekker! Echt een aanrader, als je van echt goed Frans eten houdt is dit een must visit!

Feels Ike you are in Paris but without the French and in the middle of The Hague. Food was typical bistro, good flavours, simple french food. Atmosphere is great.

Klein restaurantje met Franse keuken. Op zich goed en oke gegeten maar iets minder authentieke, oubollige Franse gerechten zoals bv slakken zou welkom zijn. Frankrijk heeft culinair gezien ook niet stil gestaan. De tafeltjes staan wel heel dicht op elkaar maar dat maakt het ook heel gezellig en de bediening is prima.

My favourite restaurant in town. Live around the corner and no need to walk any further. Friendly, simple, honest French bistro food (remarkable achievement from such a small kitchen) and the finest bird liver pate in the world!

Good food. Meat rich kitchen. Simple but good menu

French style cuisine. A bit too much ajusted to Dutch taste. Missed garlic and strong cheese. Duck was excellent and nicely fresh lettuce. Waiters kept kicking my chair as it is very narrow.

Tiny. Wasn't serving any food when I was there. Had my favorite drink so I hung out for a while. Decent spot to drink

Lekker authentiek frans. Goeie service. Knus en gezellig met deur aan deur kroeg en restaurants en dat in de leukste horecawijk van Den Haag.

Jeetje wat heb ik weer lekker gegeten vanavond! Geen daghap prijzen, maar dat is het ook meer dan waard. Uitmuntende bediening, gezellige ambiance, goeie wijnen en dus ook een heerlijke kleine exquise Franse kaart! Heerlijk. Ik dacht even, moet dit geen sjiekere plek zijn? Maar NEE, ik wil dit heerlijke eten niet eten in een steriel restaurant met lift muziek op de achtergrond en rammelend bestek horen...... tot Morgen!

Restaurant situé dans une rue vivante et étroite avec divers bars et lieux pour se restaurer. Il y a peu de places en terrasse mais cela n'empêche que nous avons très bien mangé ! De plus, le personnel est agréable :)

Zalig gegeten met mijn kinderen. Alles schoon op - en dat is goed. Ouderwets lekker Frans eten.

Altijd goed, degelijk, smaakvol, Franse keuken voor zover dat nog niet duidelijk was ;-)

Gezellig Frans eetcafé, waar het eten heel goed is. Echt Franse keuken, zoals je in Frankrijk tegen komt. Het personeel weet de wijnen goed te laten passen bij het eten en ze kunnen altijd goed advies geven. Nu twee keer geweest en het ik kan het alleen maar aanbevelen!

What an experience! We visited the place at night, for a drink. Really enjoyed the atmosphere - it is a good place to hang out with the locals, drink, sing, and just enjoy the music and the energy. Service was great too. Will come back again!

Good service given by people that clearly have years of experience. They always make me feel welcome!

Gezellig café met goede barmensen.

Lekker eten, fijne informele sfeer. Voor 1 ober en 1 barvrouw was het op vrijdagavond wel net iets te veel. Kaasjes werden niet toegelicht. Zeker een aanhouder als je van authentiek Frans houd.

Wat 'n plek! Super gezellige sfeer en overheerlijk eten en zeer goede wijnen(en bieren!)
