Ga hier niet heen; ze nemen hele jonge mensen aan en betalen ze vervolgens veel te laat. Als je belt om dit op te helderen met de eigenaar word je niet teruggebeld en als je langsgaat zijn ze nauwelijks open en word je te woord gestaan door iemand van 18.

We were there on holiday, a top address, very friendly and courteous staff, the food is great, highly recommended

Food is cold, shared dinner, all meat in 1 piece, you have to cut it in half yourself. Oven dishes not heated. The staff is very young. No experience at all.

The food was good, but for dessert I had a smoothie, which I unfortunately didn't like. It didn't have enough flavor.

Two portions of meat (cold steak cubes and poor-quality stew), two portions of fish (salmon (barely warm) and lots of large prawns), along with plenty of vegetables and fries. The fries were tasty and the bread was delicious, but for €36 per person, we expected a bit more! The staff didn't show up either, so we couldn't complain about the temperature until afterward. Definitely not something we'll be returning.

We had great service today! The 12 o'clock meal was good 👍🏼! The chef's sandwich was generously filled! Highly recommended.

Meat lunch board, vegetarian lunch board, nachos and bread board ordered for 7 people. It was more than enough and tasty. We had to wait quite a long time and were seated near a door that kept opening, causing quite a bit of cold to come in... Looks very cozy...

We ordered 2 chocolate milk first, which took half an hour before we saw the waitress prepare the chocolate milk. After this I was finally able to order lunch. This was ready fairly quickly, but the price and quality ratio is not proportional. The waitress didn't come by again for the rest of the afternoon. Tried to make contact. Sat here on a terrace with my son on Saturday. Simple terrace with wobbly tables. The cafe latte was tasty, as it should be. We ordered the nachos with cheese and minced meat. What a disappointment. The minced meat was not seasoned and very tasteless. The nachos had become limp in the cheese sauce halfway through the bowl. Really not tasty anymore. We left half of the nachos behind. I mentioned this during checkout. The employee would take this into account for improvement. Too bad we had to pay for the dish in full. I don't find this customer friendly. I was completely bummed when our other son told me that he had been here twice with a group of friends and they had received weak nachos both times. They also said something about it then and got the same answer as I did, they would take it with them and definitely do something with it. How seriously are you taken here as a customer? Too bad, but we won't be coming back here. I also wonder which of the staff here responds to the reviews. These comments are rude and very unprofessional. It would be better to do something with the feedback.

Nice cozy decorated restaurant. Good service, menu with sufficient variety. The tasting for 2 people is quite a lot. After our starter we had to leave some of the tasty dishes. Chardonnay house wine paired well with the diverse main course. Clearly recommended.

Delicious food, the sweet potatoes are highly recommended, very richly topped. Friendly service. Changing room for baby available. It just smelled a bit like sewage on the terrace, but of course the restaurant can't do anything about it.

We had to wait a long time before we received an order or card. The sandwiches are very generous with lettuce and the ordered toppings are on the economical side. Definitely not recommended for me

The two of us vented there. One had fish and chips and the other had pumpkin soup. We had coffee and cake. We thought the quality of the food was good and the Eastern European honey cake was a surprise. The price of fish and chips would be correct if it came with a really substantial salad, but the few leaves that were now next to it are decoration, not salad. And that makes 17 euros for fries with 5 pieces of kibbeling a bit much. Would go back for the cozy, homely decor and friendly employees. Would be nice if there was a nice savory pie for lunch.

Nice decor, also nice with children, nice play corner. Our son had a great time. We had a smoothie, snacks and nachos. Tasted very tasty, nachos are really meant to share, large portion. Hertog Jan on tap is also nice.

Had a great meal here. It's a nicely decorated place! Food is plenty and enough! The portions are all generously sized with delicious thick fries. We couldn't finish it. Nachos are slightly different than what you are often used to. But definitely tasty once in a while.

Pleasant and friendly service, atmospheric ambiance, and very tasty drinks. A nice, full glass of wine is served, so value for money. Worth repeating!!.

What a strange experience. We went in for a drink and ordered 1 board for both of us. To wait long. Staff were chatting while tables still had to be cleared. In addition to very tasty spreads, the board contained a large bowl of chips and also peanuts. We were hoping for a little more variety. Bread was not enough for the spreads. Ordered more, but it was only delivered after we asked for it again. When we paid, the surprise came: we still had to pay for 2 people. That was a very expensive drink for us. We will never go there again!

A really relaxing meal! Sharring dinner is highly recommended! Very friendly service and neatly oriented. Oh yes, and lovely chairs, not unimportant!

Cozy inside, but the apple pie with the coffee was certainly not an advertisement, lots of dough, crumbly and the whipped cream of 0.50 cents ran all the way back to liquid form on the plate. Try a good machine, but definitely not aerosol junk.

We had a delicious meal last night and received friendly service in attractive surroundings. There are plenty of vegetarian options. The pointed cabbage with chickpeas and mushrooms is highly recommended.

Had lunch here today. It took a long time before they came to take the drinks. I placed an order, which was served lukewarm and did not look appetizing. Toasti was very hard and black edges. They no longer came by to ask if everything was to your liking and no longer for drinks

I went with a friend to share meat and fish and it was delicious and lots of it!! Our table companions opted for a sirloin steak. The sirloin steak was tasty, even if it was pre-cut? The amount of garnish for the entrecote was somewhat less in quantity (especially fries). The restaurant was quite empty because there was the NL World Cup football team. It took quite a while for the food to arrive, so unfortunately we didn't have time for dessert (we had another activity planned after dinner).

Prachtige ambiance, sfeervol ingericht….. Na bijna een uur wachten was het eten een enorme tegenvaller. Sommige delen van de kip waren rood, de krieltjes waren niet gaar, de kool te zuur van smaak. De friet was zowel doorweekt van de jus (stoofvlees) als niet gaar. Het stoofvlees waren brokken (coertjens?) vast vlees, wat je niet verwacht van goed doorgegaard stoofvlees. Attent van de bediening om bij het afrekenen de ‘loaded fries’ niet in rekening te brengen. Bedankt.

Delicious dinner with the three of us! We got a few nice extras with our bread board and the Arretjes cake was really perfect. We also recently had lunch, for 30 euros 4 drinks and a well-stocked bread board. Recommended!

Nice place to sit on the terrace. We thought the garlic bread/ bun was too expensive considering the fact that you only get 1 type of Italian bun for 9.50. On the other hand, the lunch board is also very nice as a drinks board. The price ratio is excellent!! We will definitely be back!!

Ate here last Friday. Food was okay but not special. We ordered 1 drink and they didn't ask for anything else. We had the tasting board and thought that the price stated online was per 2 people, but it turns out to be per person. We didn't see the menu properly because we first looked at the menu online. In our opinion, this is not in proportion to the price. When we reported this, little was done about it In response to the review: the self-reflection was certainly there, which can also be read above. Was here last Friday. Food was okay. Service is nothing to write home about. You'll almost be dehydrated since they won't get to you once. The staff would rather be busy chatting with each other. Prices themselves are not in accordance with the website, this is indeed misleading as is often suggested below. Company doesn't seem to do anything with reviews. They are more concerned with defending themselves instead of looking for solutions. In any case, I will be curious about your future right to exist. At least NEVER AGAIN for me.

The map on the internet is misleading. It is suggested that the “Sharing Dinner” tasting is something to enjoy together for meat €29.75 and vegetarian €26.75. It doesn't say anywhere that the price is p.p. I think the price/quality and portion ratio for a platter are disproportionate and not worth the money. See photo below: €113 was paid for these 2 planks (excluding drinks and starter). As you can see, mainly fries and (normal) bread and some small containers with some other dishes (lettuce, beets and parsnips), but don't be alarmed, we paid €113 for it. In addition, I am surprised at how this company responds to (negative) reactions or points for improvement in a very pedantic and arrogant manner. When guests take the time to post a comment, it might be time to look in the mirror and do something with it. But this company also gives the guest a kick. I would also advise people against eating here.

Sitting comfortably on a beautiful square in Meppel. Friendly staff, also to the children. Prices are a bit on the high side, and the patio tables are on the small side. Otherwise five stars ;)

This morning I went for tea and cappuccino with my son. Was delicious, plenty of tea choices. Staff was pleasant and knowledgeable! Recommended!

Tijdens een tussenstop vanuit Nijmegen met de trein liepen wij binnen 10 min naar het restaurant toe. Vriendelijk ontvangen en mochten een plaatsje uitzoeken. We hadden gereserveerd met daarbij een opmerking Glutenvrij. Dit was geen probleem, gewoon overleg wat mogelijk is. Wij kozen voor de Sharing Veggie. Wat een smaaksensatie is dit. Ruime porties. Tussendoortje kwam de serveerster langs of alles naar wens was. Zo hoort het. Met het nagerecht even overleggen met de zeer vriendelijke kok over een glutenvrij nagerecht. Hij ging aan de slag en verrassende ons met gegrilde ananas met citroen ijs in een saus van Mango en malibu, verrukkelijk. Na het afrekenen keurig te woord gestaan of alles naar wens was. Wij hebben de kok nog persoonlijk bedankt. Dit wordt een adresje in onze favorieten en komen zeker terug. Wat een top restaurant.

Very curious about the new restaurant (with the beautiful terrace), we enthusiastically went to lunch on my birthday. Unfortunately it turned out to be a big disappointment. First I ordered a latte macchiato, which looked very strange. I immediately asked if that was correct, to which the waitress responded that she thought it looked a bit strange, but it was probably correct. Unfortunately it was honestly undrinkable. Then we started waiting for our order to be placed further. No one came anymore, while the terrace was virtually empty. Inside, all the waitresses appeared to be hanging out at the bar. I then reported my complaints, paid and we went to the Beurs for lunch a little further away.

Nice restaurant, nice place. Lots of vegetarian food, but the service is terrible, we had to ask 3 times if we could get something to drink. No eye contact with the customers.

Aan het vernieuwde Groenmarktplein in Meppel is restaurant De Bakker & De Schenker (DB&DS) geopend. Wat een feest! Op het zonnige terras is het fantastisch om bier, wijn of prosecco drinken. De grote troef van DB&DS is de kwaliteit van het eten. Een compacte menu-kaart, maar wat is het lekker! Hun tomatensoep (bescheiden aangekondigd als 'op Chinese wijze bereid') is een avontuur vol gember en vruchtvlees; de 'vlees en/of vis proeverij' komt met heerkijke aardappelfrieten, garnalen in een heerlijke saus, kabeljauw met zeekraal en zacht bittere witlof die ik 'al dente' zou noemen. En dan vergeet is nog de pesto, varkensrib, kruidenboter en ,,, gewoon betaalbare fles Temperanilla. De bediening/service is ook no-nonsense, aardig en vriendelijk. Meppel blijft zich positief ontwikkelen en de komst van DB&DS is daarvan een goed voorbeeld. Ga DB&DS checken - dit is culinair verwennen voor iedereen!

A golden spot on the beautiful new square! But unfortunately there is not much more positive to say about it. Service extremely slow and not attentive. We were also very disappointed with the food, none of the dishes we chose really appealed to us.

The food was decent, but the service was absolutely terrible! No wipes to clean our hands, no new plates with overflowing trash, etc. We had to walk in ourselves to ask for service. Then the staff stands in a group chatting! Very disappointed! Moreover, we think the prices are far too high for the quality delivered! Do not! Not recommended!

I thought it was very expensive for what we got to eat. 29 euros per person for a 'sharing meat and fish'. Of which 4 meat/fish dishes and also fries and salad. I'm curious, since there is a lot of competition in Meppel, whether you will make it. Not a second time for me anyway.

Wanted to have lunch here today. Opted for a B&S plank with meat. Looked tasty upon arrival, but upon closer inspection the bread turned out to have significant mold spots. At my request we would receive new bread, indicating that I had lost my appetite and I did not need the entire board. Then no one came out to pay. We went back inside and thought we were going to eat the rest of the board. We were allowed to leave without paying, that's for sure.

Delicious lunch Fair price Fish and chips with mayo and ravcotte sauce Fish and meat board grill sausage bacon shrimp salad frikandel bread sauce. Lovely terrace in the sun and shade, service was a bit unsure for the first time, but very helpful. Milk was long-life milk. Fries could have been a bit saltier. Pleasant to eat at a fair price. Highly recommended for families to visit.

Had a delicious meal in this new restaurant in Meppel. Had a 3 course dinner and the dishes were all excellent. Fresh ingredients, salad and vegetables delicious. Beef steak was delicious, we will definitely come back and recommend this new restaurant.
