Lovely atmosphere! The pornstar martini is delicious!

We arrived there over an hour before it was supposed to close and we were not even able to get a drink. Call before you decide to go there. You can’t trust their opening times.

Work Christmas party held at this location was terrible understaffed kitchen took hours to get food very little by way of apologies and management haven’t bothered to return my email. Would not recommend

I wouldn’t recommend this place for group bookings. Our office team Christmas dinner was a disaster. The drinks and starters arrived promptly, however the main course took over 1,5 hour to get to us. The waitress mentioned “You’re with a big group so we serve others in the restaurant first”. Having politely made an enquiry as to the time of the main course arriving. We were faced with other responses as well: “We only have two chefs”, “Our manager left last week”, “We have new waiting staff”. This group booking was made well in advance, there was limited menu options therefore these excuses are unacceptable. The restaurant should have been better prepared for our arrival. The result of this is that many of the people had to skip their dessert to get trains home and missed the rest of the evening plans. Alongside this we pre recorded allergies as we had women breast feeding and one person with nut allergy. These were not handled well with 1 dessert option. We sent an email afterwards, but didn’t receive a reply back. Hopefully you will learn from your mistakes.

Went to De Luwte last Saturday, which looks fantastic on Instagram by the way. Food is really the only thing that gets a passing grade here. The place was mainly very empty. We had made a reservation in advance and were given a seat at the back of the restaurant. Had to choose a table. We did, and in the end it was a table that had been reserved. Well, of course that's possible! We selected delicious dishes. Found the cocktail a bit sour, but maybe it wasn't our taste. There was probably a manager in the business who intervened in our conversation. The cocktail should be slightly sour. Nah. You can have a discussion about this, because we order the cocktail often, but never had it so sour. We thought it's fine. Let's go for the food! The food was very tasty. Had to ask several times for a bottle of water. Wasn't asked at any time if everything was okay. Fine. They must have been busy. We had made a reservation from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Around 5:15 PM we were finally approached by an employee! Oh no, not a question about whether it tasted good, but an announcement that they need the table again at 5:30 PM. But how? We have also made a reservation until 6:00 PM. Must show proof. Mistake can happen. Eventually the same manager comes to the table (around 5:35 PM) with the message: Girls, I don't want you to leave, but we really need the table. Yes, at 6:00 PM, right? No actually now. By the way, the place was still empty except for 2 tables. Okay how? Once again we say that we have made a reservation until 6:00 PM. No apologies again. We really did not feel welcome in any way after the pile-up. We packed our things and left immediately. We'll find a tent where we are welcome ;). Oh and make sure you line up straight away; have a nice evening ladies! With an undertone. Naturally, she did not dare to ask at checkout whether everything was satisfactory... they could have already filled this in themselves. Look, mistakes can happen, but this? If an apology came with girls, wrong communication here. Just sitting there for a while would have been enough. This was really an accumulation of… Really very unfriendly! For us, never again, even though the restaurant looks great and the food was very tasty!

Wonderfully decorated for Christmas, the food and service were great!

We had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. First, we received the wrong drinks. Then our food arrived without cutlery, and by the time we finally got it, the steak had gone cold. We also ordered wine to accompany our meal, but it never arrived because the staff forgot to add it to the order. While the staff apologized, it didn't make up for the poor service. Overall, a disappointing visit

The location is really TOP! The restaurant is very nicely decorated for December! The food, especially the fish starters, were delicious, but the food is really too pricey. 3 pieces of fresh bread for 8 euros, a very simple pasta for 24 euros. I ordered a spa red and got a bottle for 6 euros... such a shame! The cocktails were delicious! Service was friendly, but didn't actually come by. Toilets were really not clean! I don't think we will be back after 2 visits.

Very loud music so that normal conversation was not possible. The food was ok, certain dietary requirements could not be accommodated. The dessert was very sweet and the main course was very tasty.

Very good place near Anne Franck house, we tried their cocktails and they were excellent. Delicious truffle raviolis with mushroom. For the dessert we tried the generous half backed cookie that was very melting and a good chocolate taste ! The overall general restaurant is nice with discreet but nice music. I recommend the place even tho it was a little bit expensive.

Oh wow, I came across this place while walking through the cities and already was intrigued by the many people sitting outside, eating and enjoying the sun (yes, we have sun sometimes). Anyway, last week I booked a spot for us to visit and we loved the wine card as well as the aperitifs and the meat dishes. All was presented very nicely (the eyes eat as well), but the taste very very nice. Will become my favourite spot in Amsterdam. Looking forward to the next time. P.S. who ever likes Christmas decoration, you'll not be disappointed at the bar

There are rats running around (!!!!!!) and there was a blonde hair in my food.

You advertise the crispy rice salmon sandwich on Instagram, but when we want to order it, it isn't there Ask for ice tea, the lady says we don't have that, maybe next time tell us that you have homemade ice tea on the menu Had a club sandwich and it was fine, but we will go somewhere else next time

Haven't been for a few years. What has remained is the nice location, nice interior and good atmosphere. However, the food has deteriorated to quite mediocre, the service to even less and the price/quality ratio has gone off the rails.

Love this place on a sunny day on the terrace and inside dining on a winter day. So cosy. I have been here for both lunch and dinner and I have to say I have never been disappointed. The martini tower is perfect for girls dinner out !!

I had an unexpected night in Amsterdam due to a delayed and missed flight. I had a lovely wander around Amsterdam and happened by this cute restaurant without having done any research. I had a delicious meal! I would definitely plan a meal here next time I am in Amsterdam.

The atmosphere and service are good, also a nice location. Good for a date. However, the food, especially for the price, was not very good. The fries and side dishes are fine, but the main course (the lemon sole) was very disappointing; the fish was far too well done and dry, with too little salt and minimal seasoning. The lemon flavor was strongly dominant. The truffle ravioli was okay, but not great for the price. Perhaps other dishes are better. The location did make up for something.

Had dinner yesterday in De Luwte, enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere. It was raining hard outside, inside there was a fireplace and lots of candles, robust real materials with soft luxurious tones that really make life beautiful. Not blasé, but living well. Very nice girls, class in a regular capacity and I felt completely like myself. Rarely nice meal. Steak perfect, tastes very good with homemade pesto or tapenade, and the dessert was really delicious. Recommended! Beautiful memory. Best food memory of mine in Amsterdam. Of the many.

Large restaurant (small outdoor terrace but 1 large room inside) very cozy, with refined dishes, a magnificent setting, excellent cocktails and very pleasant staff. You pay for quality, but we are not disappointed

Dirty glasses, tap water for 6 euros from a dirty bottle, they brought beer without even showing it. We paid 7.50 for 3 pieces of bread. Good thing - clean toilet

We specifically came for the Aperol Spritz tower! I booked ahead and they sat us right by the window, which I loved. Super cute vibe inside as it was a rainy day. Fun experience to get the tower (they have p* star martini towers too!), though ours seemed to have more soda than prosecco. I suppose when you're drinking a "tower" its best to pace yourself but for the price point we would have expected a bit more. A cozy and enjoyable experience, right on the canal!

Very cute, insta worthy and beautifully decorated restaurant. We enjoyed the poma cheesecake and the mousse with peanut, esma's and poma's ;). The cocktails were excellent, but very pricey even by Amsterdam standards (€14). The desserts are also delicious, but again quite expensive (€12-15). It's fun for once, but that's it. Cocktail tower was about €85 (for 6), so we ignored it😅. Apologies for the Amsterdam student language (esma, poma), but otherwise my review will be demonitized.

Lovely restaurant with great food. Drink lovers must go as they had a good variety of drinks. Nice atmosphere, especially if you'te lucky enough to get a seat outside in front of the canal.

Quite overpriced for the size of the dishes you get which are also not spectacular. Pretty tasty but not more than that. My ravioli were €24.5(check the picture🥲). The place itself is very cute and ambient but you can see that it needs renovation. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Didn’t manage to get a cocktail tower but we tried a few cocktails anyway - again pretty good but note more than that. Don’t think I would come back 😅

Haven't had such a good meal in a long time!

We walked in moments before its noon opening, and had a street view. Service was very good, food was fresh and adequate. I was pleased with the green tea, and enjoyed the “lobster roll”. This roll had more crawfish on it than I had seen all winter/spring in South Louisiana. A little much mayo, but still tasty. Yes, it was very pleasant, efficient, and un-rushed. I'd go back.

The atmosphere and expectations were promising, but in reality - dirty tables, glasses for 0.5 beer are missing, they will bring a little 🤦‍♀️ with us, the waitress poured the wine from the glass back into the bottle, and took the ice from the bucket into the glass with her hands, although the device for there was an ice pack, she didn't use it! The waitress sniffed a couple of glasses, put them on the counter... tin. A sticky coffee spoon and chipped dishes. One napkin for every four customers, despite the fact that it was left over from previous guests. We were served utensils that simply put a bare sticky table. Nightmarish quality of service, not sure that there is an opportunity to get out of here healthy.

Reality is different from what you see on social media, especially when it comes to the dishes. Compared to the price, these were very small, loveless and prepared with few fresh ingredients. Inexperienced staff tries their best but does not come out well. Shame!

A gorgeous restaurant inside and out! We had lunch outside the first time we were there and then returned for dinner on our last day in Amsterdam. The food is chef’s kiss. The staff are wonderful.

Make sure to read the reviews first! Service was friendly, but as others have said, this place is definitely not french. It's dutch inspired by french haute-cuisine. As a parisian, there's nothing parisian about this place. The atmosphere is merely Instagramable. Our table stood over and uneven part of the floor, which meant it was very wobly, and the lit candle risked tipping over a few too many times. The cod was incredibly disappointing, the tuna tartar okay. The creme brulee reminded of a crema catalana with less flavour. The drinks were heavily overpriced and very dry. If you are looking for a place to take pictures at, go ahead, but for good food, save your money. The bathroom was also completely unhygienic. For a place with these prices, one would expect a little more quality.

It does look nice. I found the waitresses arrogant and inexperienced. Young girls in jeans and sneakers. Starter was a kind of thin toasted sandwich 🙈 and the truffle ravioli very bland, saying little. Tap water in a bottle for no less than €6! Everything was very pricey anyway for the quality of what they serve.

Atmosphere is beautiful, beautiful decor and also very Insta-worthy. The ladies in the service also had nothing to complain about. The food is okay, nothing special and in my opinion far too expensive for what you get. I think almost 25 euros for a pasta is expensive. Cocktails are also not recommended, they are not bad but not super tasty either. All in all we had a very nice evening in a beautiful brasserie, with a nice ambiance and good service, but the food was mediocre.

Disappointing experience at De Luwte. In the past we had a good experience at De Luwte, but today the service was extremely disappointing. Even though there were only a few guests and there were enough staff, it took more than fifteen minutes before we even received the menu. When we asked for a glass of tap water after ordering a drink, we were offered filtered water for €6. When we kindly pointed out that this is a basic service in the catering industry, a girl at the counter claimed that “the boss” does not allow her to do this - an incomprehensible customer-unfriendly attitude that is at odds with the supposed hospitality. If we had just received this, we would have ordered something to eat and more drinks anyway. It's inconvenient that they do it so cheaply at De Luwte and want to save on a glass of water (and the service). I am genuinely curious who that manager is and what the thinking behind this is. It may be useful to consider that not offering a free glass of tap water when requested is one of the biggest annoyances in the catering industry according to various studies. This is incomprehensible, especially if your store is almost empty on a Sunday afternoon in the heart of Amsterdam. Then our tea was served with just one sprig of mint and a piece of ginger for almost €5, really ridiculously expensive - even for Amsterdam prices. To top it all off, there was also a drink on the bill that we had not consumed at all. Everything about the visit - except the location - was hugely disappointing. There are so many places in Amsterdam where you are served in a normal way, hospitality is of paramount importance, and where you get value for your money. Unfortunately not at De Luwte.

Quite unhelpful staff, Typical lazy Amsterdam service not customer oriented. Extremely long waiting time even tho there were 3 grils at the bar and only 3 tables booked. We have waited 30 min for aperol Tower only to be informed that they cant make it. Later on staff had Lunch at the table next to us (all 3 girls at the same time) laughing and scrolling on their phones, which doesnt give you a nice vibe of professionalism at the restaurant.

This is a nice place for a tasty lunch or dinner. It has a reputation as being the favorite Amsterdam restaurant of the country's longest serving PM, and I have, indeed, seen him entering the place.

The music playlist was annoying popular songs used in Instagram reels, the overall atmosphere was okay, trying to look fancy but not really being so. I went here mainly for the cocktail towers which was quite fun when it arrived, but the pumpkin spice martini was not really sweet and just okay taste. The waiters were also constantly pressuring us to order food or other drinks which is not cool. Overall, I would NOT go here again.

De bediening was vriendelijk, wijn was heerlijk en het eten lekker!Wij waren wel verbaasd over 6 euro voor water uit de tap. Dit is echt buiten proportie. Daarnaast waren de papieren menu kaarten erg vies en de toiletten ook niet heel fris. Dat is echt een horeca regel, zeker binnen deze prijsklasse! Verder hebben wij een goede avond hier gehad.

Voor het eerst gegeten bij dit super sfeervolle restaurant. Superlatieven schieten te kort. Vriendelijke bediening, smakelijk eten, mooie wijnen en een eerlijke prijs. We gaan vaker terugkomen. Thanks!

Ik en mijn vriendin hebben waanzinnig lekker gegeten hier! Bij aankomst zijn we vriendelijk ontvangen en goed geholpen. Het eten is heerlijk, vers en van goede kwaliteit en er hangt een gezellige sfeer. Tipje: neem zeker zo’n toren!!

We dropped by after visiting Anne Frank’s house. It was late on Monday evening and the restaurant was buzzing and welcoming. Despite it being busy, service was fast and friendly. The food was divine, presentation beautiful and ambiance perfect 🤩
