It looks quite cozy. I found the waitresses arrogant and inexperienced. The starter was a kind of thin toasted sandwich 🙈 and the truffle ravioli was very bland, not very impressive. Bottled tap water cost a whopping €6! Everything was very pricey for the quality of what they served.

We had a fantastic meal here two weeks ago. There was a great atmosphere, good food, and fantastic cocktails!

The outdoor seating area could use a bit more work, but it has potential. We came here for lunch and really enjoyed the steak. We also ordered the tartare, but unfortunately it turned out to be a tartare sandwich, which we didn’t notice in the menu. It wasn’t what we expected. Overall, a nice place with great design and good food.

Great place to have a late lunch, people watch. They were a bit slow on service but were under-staffed I would say. They were going to comp a glass of my wine, but forgot to and partner paid bill already. So a bit no follow through. Met 2 very nice young people sitting beside us who were delightful to chat with. Would I go again, absolutely.

We've been here briefly several times over the past three days and were so pleased that we decided to have dinner here today. The service was first-class each time, the wine outstanding, and today's food was very good. The ravioli and tuna are highly recommended. If we ever find ourselves in Amsterdam again, we'll definitely stop by again.

We were on vacation in Amsterdam last week and discovered this restaurant by chance. The ambiance is really nice and the drinks are delicious. So we decided to go back the next day and reserve a table outside this time. However, upon arrival, we were told that reservations were generally not possible outside. Instead, we were told we could sit inside and move outside as soon as a space became available. This was perfectly fine with us, so we ate and drank inside. When we were finished, several tables outside were free. We wanted to go outside, as agreed, to order some cocktails. Suddenly, however, the staff became very rude and said we had reserved inside and that the free tables outside were supposedly already taken. Shortly thereafter, guests who hadn't ordered anything at that point started sitting at the tables – so we had definitely arrived first. We found this very disappointing and unprofessional, especially since we hadn't exactly spent a small amount of money and had previously been promised something else. We weren't served inside again afterward either. It's a shame, because the food and drinks are really good, but the unfriendly service unfortunately spoils the experience.

We had a lovely time here, first inside and then outside. The food was really good! The service was excellent! They said we had to wait a bit longer for our main course, so we got an extra portion of fries. We love to linger at the table, and the fries were delicious! The cocktails tasted just as they should. The service was friendly and even gave our dog a bowl of water.

De Luwte is a mid-level restaurant. Nothing special, but also not bad. Been here a bunch of times before. Last week we had dinner on a quiet Thursday evening: more than half the seats were empty. Getting three dishes served took over an hour. After commenting to the waitress that it took very long she stated arrogantly "you ordered an appetizer and the "system" would not allow the kitchen to start with the mains. For next time I you should take that into account". This was a good example how rude staff can kill your restaurant. There will be no "next time" for me. Do yourself a favour if deciding on this restaurant and go somewhere else where they have better service.

Nice place next to the canal in the city center / Jordaan area. Interesting food , I had nice artichoke & tuna tartar. Good choice and I like it. Place is famous by Aperol spric tree.. but you need to order more than 3/4 at once. Service was nice, girls were friendly & helpful.

Arrived at 1.30pm, at 2.15 we still didn’t have any drinks after two reminders. At 3.25 we left the place with no food, as the waiter forgot to send the order to the kitchen.

The restaurant may have a fragrance or room spray? Either way for some reason it smelled divine and subtle upon entry. Visited during the summer months so the front is open, very pleasant. Beautiful interiors with live candles. I was served by a young trio of individuals all speaking immaculate English - helpful to me as a tourist - with attentiveness and kindness. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. The only room for improvement would be the lavatories as they aren’t so well kept but I don’t expect much in this department from a centrally located and busy restaurant.

Terrible experience. We made a reservation and were given a VERY DIRTY table. There were flies in the water, the bathroom was broken and out of order, and the long-haired waitresses ignored and treated us badly. I don't recommend it.

Last Friday we ended up here by chance. Exactly the restaurant we were looking for. Not a busy tourist tent with "typical Dutch food", but just a cozy and quiet place. The service was all very friendly ladies and the food was really good quality. If we are in Amsterdam again, we will definitely go here again. Or to one of the sister shops for a nice croissant 😋

When we first arrived, the restaurant seemed empty, but the waiter offered to show us the back room where there were about 4 tables reserved for Sunday evening. We had planned to have oysters for the starter but they had already run out. The burrata starter was excellent for two to share for the main course was crispy duck (I wonder where the crunchiness was in the duck?) the other main course was sesame tuna no need for the siders and for dessert, creme brulee and chocolate cookie. Waiter representative always asked how the food tasted between meals. Thanks for the evening <3

Pretty terrible food. They seemed to be understaffed, but dinner took two hours to come out, the waitress didn’t know if they had steak knives, and the rib eye was awful; fatty, dry, tough. Wouldn’t recommend!

Everything was great, contrary to what some reviews say, the waiting time was very well managed, the waitresses and the waiter were super pleasant and the food was truly incredible. I highly recommend!

A warm, cozy, delicious spot tucked away on a quiet canal. I came here for a later dinner on my last night in Amsterdam and it was the best meal of the trip. The lemon ricotta ravioli was outstanding and my husband devoured his steak. The dessert menu looked great too. We ate inside due to the weather and the ambiance/ decor was lovely, but the outside seating also looked nice.

I've been here many times. Always consistently good food and greats service. Place itself is also beautiful with great atmosphere.

Excellent food here that never disappoints. Best dessert on the menu was the French toast which they seem to have gotten rid of (please bring it back?). Starters all great and possibly better than the mains - sometimes we just take a selection of starters instead. Parmesan fries also excellent!

Very nice place, as long as you don’t run into the manager. I have been a regular customer at De Luwte for some time now and I have always been happy with the quality of the food and service provided by the staff, except that was ruined for me once I had the unfortunate opportunity to meet the manager. On the several occasions the manager has interacted with me, she managed to always appear rude and unprofessional. I was under the impression that a manager is supposed to make customers feel welcome and treat them with respect so that they would hopefully turn into frequent customers, yet all I received was a disgusting attitude and an urge to leave. I will most likely continue coming here, because this one star review is only a reflection of the incompetence of the manager and not the rest of the hardworking staff who deserve more praise for working under such poor management.

Work Christmas party held at this location was terrible understaffed kitchen took hours to get food very little by way of apologies and management haven’t bothered to return my email. Would not recommend

I wouldn’t recommend this place for group bookings. Our office team Christmas dinner was a disaster. The drinks and starters arrived promptly, however the main course took over 1,5 hour to get to us. The waitress mentioned “You’re with a big group so we serve others in the restaurant first”. Having politely made an enquiry as to the time of the main course arriving. We were faced with other responses as well: “We only have two chefs”, “Our manager left last week”, “We have new waiting staff”. This group booking was made well in advance, there was limited menu options therefore these excuses are unacceptable. The restaurant should have been better prepared for our arrival. The result of this is that many of the people had to skip their dessert to get trains home and missed the rest of the evening plans. Alongside this we pre recorded allergies as we had women breast feeding and one person with nut allergy. These were not handled well with 1 dessert option. We sent an email afterwards, but didn’t receive a reply back. Hopefully you will learn from your mistakes.

Went to De Luwte last Saturday, which looks fantastic on Instagram by the way. Food is really the only thing that gets a passing grade here. The place was mainly very empty. We had made a reservation in advance and were given a seat at the back of the restaurant. Had to choose a table. We did, and in the end it was a table that had been reserved. Well, of course that's possible! We selected delicious dishes. Found the cocktail a bit sour, but maybe it wasn't our taste. There was probably a manager in the business who intervened in our conversation. The cocktail should be slightly sour. Nah. You can have a discussion about this, because we order the cocktail often, but never had it so sour. We thought it's fine. Let's go for the food! The food was very tasty. Had to ask several times for a bottle of water. Wasn't asked at any time if everything was okay. Fine. They must have been busy. We had made a reservation from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Around 5:15 PM we were finally approached by an employee! Oh no, not a question about whether it tasted good, but an announcement that they need the table again at 5:30 PM. But how? We have also made a reservation until 6:00 PM. Must show proof. Mistake can happen. Eventually the same manager comes to the table (around 5:35 PM) with the message: Girls, I don't want you to leave, but we really need the table. Yes, at 6:00 PM, right? No actually now. By the way, the place was still empty except for 2 tables. Okay how? Once again we say that we have made a reservation until 6:00 PM. No apologies again. We really did not feel welcome in any way after the pile-up. We packed our things and left immediately. We'll find a tent where we are welcome ;). Oh and make sure you line up straight away; have a nice evening ladies! With an undertone. Naturally, she did not dare to ask at checkout whether everything was satisfactory... they could have already filled this in themselves. Look, mistakes can happen, but this? If an apology came with girls, wrong communication here. Just sitting there for a while would have been enough. This was really an accumulation of… Really very unfriendly! For us, never again, even though the restaurant looks great and the food was very tasty!

Wonderfully decorated for Christmas, the food and service were great!

We had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. First, we received the wrong drinks. Then our food arrived without cutlery, and by the time we finally got it, the steak had gone cold. We also ordered wine to accompany our meal, but it never arrived because the staff forgot to add it to the order. While the staff apologized, it didn't make up for the poor service. Overall, a disappointing visit

The location is really TOP! The restaurant is very nicely decorated for December! The food, especially the fish starters, were delicious, but the food is really too pricey. 3 pieces of fresh bread for 8 euros, a very simple pasta for 24 euros. I ordered a spa red and got a bottle for 6 euros... such a shame! The cocktails were delicious! Service was friendly, but didn't actually come by. Toilets were really not clean! I don't think we will be back after 2 visits.

Very good place near Anne Franck house, we tried their cocktails and they were excellent. Delicious truffle raviolis with mushroom. For the dessert we tried the generous half backed cookie that was very melting and a good chocolate taste ! The overall general restaurant is nice with discreet but nice music. I recommend the place even tho it was a little bit expensive.

Oh wow, I came across this place while walking through the cities and already was intrigued by the many people sitting outside, eating and enjoying the sun (yes, we have sun sometimes). Anyway, last week I booked a spot for us to visit and we loved the wine card as well as the aperitifs and the meat dishes. All was presented very nicely (the eyes eat as well), but the taste very very nice. Will become my favourite spot in Amsterdam. Looking forward to the next time. P.S. who ever likes Christmas decoration, you'll not be disappointed at the bar

You advertise the crispy rice salmon sandwich on Instagram, but when we want to order it, it isn't there Ask for ice tea, the lady says we don't have that, maybe next time tell us that you have homemade ice tea on the menu Had a club sandwich and it was fine, but we will go somewhere else next time

Haven't been for a few years. What has remained is the nice location, nice interior and good atmosphere. However, the food has deteriorated to quite mediocre, the service to even less and the price/quality ratio has gone off the rails.

Love this place on a sunny day on the terrace and inside dining on a winter day. So cosy. I have been here for both lunch and dinner and I have to say I have never been disappointed. The martini tower is perfect for girls dinner out !!

I had an unexpected night in Amsterdam due to a delayed and missed flight. I had a lovely wander around Amsterdam and happened by this cute restaurant without having done any research. I had a delicious meal! I would definitely plan a meal here next time I am in Amsterdam.

The atmosphere and service are good, also a nice location. Good for a date. However, the food, especially for the price, was not very good. The fries and side dishes are fine, but the main course (the lemon sole) was very disappointing; the fish was far too well done and dry, with too little salt and minimal seasoning. The lemon flavor was strongly dominant. The truffle ravioli was okay, but not great for the price. Perhaps other dishes are better. The location did make up for something.

Had dinner yesterday in De Luwte, enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere. It was raining hard outside, inside there was a fireplace and lots of candles, robust real materials with soft luxurious tones that really make life beautiful. Not blasé, but living well. Very nice girls, class in a regular capacity and I felt completely like myself. Rarely nice meal. Steak perfect, tastes very good with homemade pesto or tapenade, and the dessert was really delicious. Recommended! Beautiful memory. Best food memory of mine in Amsterdam. Of the many.

Large restaurant (small outdoor terrace but 1 large room inside) very cozy, with refined dishes, a magnificent setting, excellent cocktails and very pleasant staff. You pay for quality, but we are not disappointed

We specifically came for the Aperol Spritz tower! I booked ahead and they sat us right by the window, which I loved. Super cute vibe inside as it was a rainy day. Fun experience to get the tower (they have p* star martini towers too!), though ours seemed to have more soda than prosecco. I suppose when you're drinking a "tower" its best to pace yourself but for the price point we would have expected a bit more. A cozy and enjoyable experience, right on the canal!

Very cute, insta worthy and beautifully decorated restaurant. We enjoyed the poma cheesecake and the mousse with peanut, esma's and poma's ;). The cocktails were excellent, but very pricey even by Amsterdam standards (€14). The desserts are also delicious, but again quite expensive (€12-15). It's fun for once, but that's it. Cocktail tower was about €85 (for 6), so we ignored it😅. Apologies for the Amsterdam student language (esma, poma), but otherwise my review will be demonitized.
