Loved loved loved! The sole was amazing! Service great location charming and seri e fantastic.

Very friendly staff! Food was also very good - I would definitely recommend the spicy tuna tartare. The lemon ravioli had a strong, zesty lemon flavor, so if you love lemons, this one is a must on the menu!

There were five of us sitting outside in the shelter under the trees. We ordered lots of starters and shared them. Everything was delicious and the service was superb! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Sweet potato fries were very good. Farm chicken was tasty but had a big bone in it; it's very awkward to eat in a restaurant. Dessert was cheesecake with raspberry ice cream, which was amazing. The Pornstar martini was very pricey and not mega tasty.

First of all, a really nice spot, but the benches outside were very hard; a cushion would have been nice. So, for dinner, we eventually moved inside, which looks really nice and atmospheric. The menu was in English; personally, I find a Dutch menu easier to use. For starters, we had sweet potato fries; they were super tasty, and the sauce too!! For the main course, we had the farm chicken. It looked very nice, but it was a shame there were pieces of bone in it; that makes eating in a restaurant awkward. Dessert with cheesecake and raspberry ice cream was a real 10/10, absolutely delicious!!

Brasserie De Luwter, Amsterdam: Zomertijd. Summer time. Sit out in the summer for a lovely bake in the sun and people watch in De Jordaan. It’s a beautiful café with beautiful food – we had shrimp and pulpo, veg tempura and burrata on toast (set menu). You won’t want to leave your hot seat. #eatstylishtravelstylish

We stumbled upon this place for dinner and it was a 10/10! Great value and everything was delicious. Plus, the terrace overlooks the canal and it's perfect. We ordered the steak tartare and the truffle ravioli and everything was absolutely fantastic. The waitress was very friendly. Highly recommended! 🙌

Lovely service, as per usual, the coffee is absolutely amazing, the goat salad that I had was also a neat combo of flavours. Nothing to add, it's great. The flowers are fresh in the vase. The view is nice.

Very good food. One thing to mention: if you are french and want a real crème brulée, don't order it. Their version is just a "cheesecake brûlé".

Exceptional Food & Service... we came for a second visit!

This was a great restaurant to try and would definitely consider returning. My friend and I sat outdoors which was wonderful on such a nice evening. The portions are small and the price is a bit high, but good flavors and thoughtful menu items. Our waiter was very nice and did a great job. Diners were a mix of locals and tourists, and I worry this restaurant is leaning a bit more towards being a tourist spot. But overall would consider returning.

This lovely neighborhood bistro is a local treasure. We chose to go back twice during our 5 night Amsterdam visit because the people were so welcoming and engaging. The food was superior. Cozy and welcoming in all ways.

We had a good meal. We did have to wait a long time for the dishes, though. It is noisy inside, but the ladies behind the bar also make more noise than necessary; a lot of noise with empty bottles disappearing into a bin. Bang!!! every time something disappeared. The toilet was, of course, terrible; I was ashamed of the fact that I had invited guests and they had to use such a toilet there. The staff is fine, friendly and cheerful.

We had a very poor experience in this restaurant. We arrived 15 minutes early. Start a course was a good quality, but no nice and forks given to us. We were on a very tiny table with no view (But that's just our opinion) But the biggest issue we had was the wait time between the starter and the main course, A whole one and a half hours and when the main course did come after asking for it, it was Of poor Quality Steaks not cooked to how we asked we actually think they forgot about us. Anyway, it wasn't good and it cost us €200 for three people , On a plus note the young waitress was very sweet and kind. Hopefully this was an Off day, but for the money we paid and what we received it wasn't good

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing and worth sharing. I brought a group to dine here, trusting the restaurant to provide a quality and transparent experience. Unfortunately, we were shocked to find that we were charged approximately €90 for tap water. Not bottled water—tap water—which we clearly saw being poured from the tap. To make matters worse, the staff continued bringing additional water without being asked, which only increased the charge. At the time, I chose not to make a scene in front of my group, but in hindsight, this feels incredibly misleading and inappropriate. Charging guests such a high amount for tap water—without clear communication—is not only unreasonable, it feels unethical. Had I known this in advance, I would have absolutely chosen a different restaurant for our group. The lack of transparency and consideration for guests is very disappointing, especially when hosting a group and trusting a restaurant to deliver a good experience. I would strongly encourage others to double-check charges here, and I hope management reconsiders this practice.

We went last year and the food has gone downhill; on top of that, you sit incredibly close together. Drinks were not chilled. Unfortunately, it will not be worth repeating next year.

Absolutely loved this restaurant, every thing about it! Charming setting overlooking the canal, outdoor tables are so lovely or inside there is such a vibe- dimly lit by candle, banquette seating, flowers, and friendly warm service. We had the bread (amazing) and tempura veggies then the rib eye and chicken, and a warm cookie. All around delicious and dog friendly! Our waitress was so nice and helpful with the menu! Haribo with the check was a nice treat too!

Didn't feel as special Mavis made it feel, but still fantastic food 20 years later. Three fantastic courses!

Sweetest waitress and most charming, romantic and adorable vibe. Great selection of food, service was attentive, and the ambiance was just great!

1. Only an English menu. That is not in accordance with the law. In the Netherlands, we still have Dutch as the official language here (apart from the fact that I speak fluent English, the lack of a Dutch menu irritates me). 2. The food was good, not particularly spicy, and the portions were small for the price. The service was very nice, but it was inconvenient that there was no coat rack!! Delicious food, nice place and pleasant and attentive service

My boyfriend and I booked a table for Valentine’s Day and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful as the entire space was decorated for the occasion with red balloons, tables scattered with rose petals and soft candlelight everywhere. It created a very romantic and intimate setting, even though the restaurant was completely full that evening. We chose the Valentine’s Day set menu and every course was genuinely delicious. The dishes were flavorful, well presented and clearly prepared with a lot of care. Both the fish and meat were amazing. The cocktails were also excellent and paired really well with the meal, adding even more to the overall experience. Our table was reserved for two hours, and while we did end up waiting a bit longer than expected for the dessert due to a problem in the system, the staff handled the situation in a very professional and considerate way. They sincerely apologized for the delay, told us we were welcome to stay longer and even offered us two drinks on the house. It was a very kind gesture and showed that they really care about their guests’ experience. The service throughout the evening was great—attentive and welcoming. Combined with the beautiful setting and the quality of the food, it made the entire evening feel very special for us. They even let us take one of the red balloons home, which was a small but very sweet touch that made the evening feel even more memorable.

We were a group of friends for dinner. All food was good, but the best starter was the fish Tartare and the best main was the Tuna fish (the sole fish was also good). 165 for 2 including wine. Not cheap but worth it.

Our hotel recommended them: quiet, romantic, with subdued lighting, soft music and the food was delicious. My wife and I loved it 😍

The food was delicious to very good. Reasonably priced, and the restaurant is small but cozy. The service did make a few mistakes, such as not bringing water to the table even though we asked for it, and our main courses being placed at the table next to us while we were still finishing our sharing dishes. They then placed the plates under a heat lamp and served them immediately after our sharing dishes without saying a word, only I had seen it and confronted them. The cheesecake was delicious.

Avoid at all costs. Both items on the menu that we went in for (the steak and the risotto) were “sold out.” After waiting an hour for another steak, it finally arrived stone cold — and they refused to remake it. They didn’t offer to make any amends. I left the restaurant hungry, frustrated, and honestly shocked by the service.

We ordered a steak and it was served cold. When we mentioned it, the only staff member working said “I don’t know.” Then they suggested reheating the steak, which is not acceptable. A proper restaurant should either prepare a new steak or serve it correctly the first time. Very strange and unprofessional experience.

It looks quite cozy. I found the waitresses arrogant and inexperienced. The starter was a kind of thin toasted sandwich 🙈 and the truffle ravioli was very bland, not very impressive. Bottled tap water cost a whopping €6! Everything was very pricey for the quality of what they served.

Great place to have a late lunch, people watch. They were a bit slow on service but were under-staffed I would say. They were going to comp a glass of my wine, but forgot to and partner paid bill already. So a bit no follow through. Met 2 very nice young people sitting beside us who were delightful to chat with. Would I go again, absolutely.

We've been here briefly several times over the past three days and were so pleased that we decided to have dinner here today. The service was first-class each time, the wine outstanding, and today's food was very good. The ravioli and tuna are highly recommended. If we ever find ourselves in Amsterdam again, we'll definitely stop by again.

We were on vacation in Amsterdam last week and discovered this restaurant by chance. The ambiance is really nice and the drinks are delicious. So we decided to go back the next day and reserve a table outside this time. However, upon arrival, we were told that reservations were generally not possible outside. Instead, we were told we could sit inside and move outside as soon as a space became available. This was perfectly fine with us, so we ate and drank inside. When we were finished, several tables outside were free. We wanted to go outside, as agreed, to order some cocktails. Suddenly, however, the staff became very rude and said we had reserved inside and that the free tables outside were supposedly already taken. Shortly thereafter, guests who hadn't ordered anything at that point started sitting at the tables – so we had definitely arrived first. We found this very disappointing and unprofessional, especially since we hadn't exactly spent a small amount of money and had previously been promised something else. We weren't served inside again afterward either. It's a shame, because the food and drinks are really good, but the unfriendly service unfortunately spoils the experience.

We had a lovely time here, first inside and then outside. The food was really good! The service was excellent! They said we had to wait a bit longer for our main course, so we got an extra portion of fries. We love to linger at the table, and the fries were delicious! The cocktails tasted just as they should. The service was friendly and even gave our dog a bowl of water.

De Luwte is a mid-level restaurant. Nothing special, but also not bad. Been here a bunch of times before. Last week we had dinner on a quiet Thursday evening: more than half the seats were empty. Getting three dishes served took over an hour. After commenting to the waitress that it took very long she stated arrogantly "you ordered an appetizer and the "system" would not allow the kitchen to start with the mains. For next time I you should take that into account". This was a good example how rude staff can kill your restaurant. There will be no "next time" for me. Do yourself a favour if deciding on this restaurant and go somewhere else where they have better service.

Nice place next to the canal in the city center / Jordaan area. Interesting food , I had nice artichoke & tuna tartar. Good choice and I like it. Place is famous by Aperol spric tree.. but you need to order more than 3/4 at once. Service was nice, girls were friendly & helpful.

Arrived at 1.30pm, at 2.15 we still didn’t have any drinks after two reminders. At 3.25 we left the place with no food, as the waiter forgot to send the order to the kitchen.

The restaurant may have a fragrance or room spray? Either way for some reason it smelled divine and subtle upon entry. Visited during the summer months so the front is open, very pleasant. Beautiful interiors with live candles. I was served by a young trio of individuals all speaking immaculate English - helpful to me as a tourist - with attentiveness and kindness. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. The only room for improvement would be the lavatories as they aren’t so well kept but I don’t expect much in this department from a centrally located and busy restaurant.

Terrible experience. We made a reservation and were given a VERY DIRTY table. There were flies in the water, the bathroom was broken and out of order, and the long-haired waitresses ignored and treated us badly. I don't recommend it.

Last Friday we ended up here by chance. Exactly the restaurant we were looking for. Not a busy tourist tent with "typical Dutch food", but just a cozy and quiet place. The service was all very friendly ladies and the food was really good quality. If we are in Amsterdam again, we will definitely go here again. Or to one of the sister shops for a nice croissant 😋

When we first arrived, the restaurant seemed empty, but the waiter offered to show us the back room where there were about 4 tables reserved for Sunday evening. We had planned to have oysters for the starter but they had already run out. The burrata starter was excellent for two to share for the main course was crispy duck (I wonder where the crunchiness was in the duck?) the other main course was sesame tuna no need for the siders and for dessert, creme brulee and chocolate cookie. Waiter representative always asked how the food tasted between meals. Thanks for the evening <3

Pretty terrible food. They seemed to be understaffed, but dinner took two hours to come out, the waitress didn’t know if they had steak knives, and the rib eye was awful; fatty, dry, tough. Wouldn’t recommend!

Everything was great, contrary to what some reviews say, the waiting time was very well managed, the waitresses and the waiter were super pleasant and the food was truly incredible. I highly recommend!
