De Royal Chop House - Beste Steakhouse & BBQ Grill Restaurant in Amsterdam in Schinkelbuurt

After reading the reviews expected better, walked in to a massive restaurant, we were the only 2 people In the place, so had a pick from any table we wanted, were offered drinks straight away, waiter could have done with a personal hygiene training course he was smelly, two starters a soup and salad followed by two times 400 gram Argentina rib eye, when ordering sides was given no guidance that one side would probably feed 3 people, so ordered way too much food that we couldn't finish, so 190 euros for 2 steaks a salad a soup and two wines not really great value, needless to say left disappointed after reading the online reviews expected more and didn't get it

Might be the worst place I went in Amsterdam ! THEY FORGOT TO BRING US THE STARTERS !!!!!! They just brought us 3 steaks nothing else and the service was really bad overall it was like they didn’t give a f about us .AND we asked for the stakes to be MEDIUM and it was close to blue rare .They tried to make it better by giving us a free wine and a free starter but it really wasn’t enough to make up for such a bad experience Too expensive for absolutely nothing Oh and I also forgot to add that they changed our table two times

Unfortunately, for us personally, the price-performance ratio did not meet our expectations. The side dishes, such as the vegetables, were cold and tasted rather inconspicuous. The meat was fine, as was the service.

One of the more bizarre dining experiences in Amsterdam. Waiters were very nice and friendly. Steak was ok although all borderline rare after ordering medium rare. Atmosphere was very strange, weird mix of decor and music.

Excellent discovery in Amsterdam. The Canadian steaks were incredibly good, as were the side dishes. The two desserts were also very good. The waitress was very welcoming, professional and efficient. The setting is lovely, and we appreciated that it's not in the middle of downtown but next to a very large, pretty park. A must try!

This is not my first time coming here. I absolutely love the quality and taste of the food, and most of all, this magical sauce. 🤤😁The service and vibe of the restaurant are top-notch!✌️

What an experience! The tastiest halal food I have ever tasted! I had dinner here with my friends and they immediately felt luxurious and were immediately approached and immediately given a table where we could eat our dishes. We first got a nacho dish with small tapas (mozzarella sticks and chicken wings). These tasted deliciously like BBQ! Then we got the main course, which consisted of the Canadian Fillet Chef's Special, delicious fries with homemade pepper sauce and salad. The steak tasted SUPER tasty and was very juicy. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to have a nice dinner with their friends and family. I will definitely come and eat here again!

A one-in-a-lifetime restaurant! I came here for dinner with a group of 4 people and it was enchanting. We were welcomed with hospitality by the staff and were immediately shown to a table. As a starter we were served nachos, hot wings and mozzarella sticks with various sauces. As a main course we enjoyed a delicious Canadian Beef Tenderloin with delicious fries as a side dish. The Royal Chop House is definitely recommended!

The food was delicious, the starter was ready quickly, the main course (steak) was delicious and was served quickly. The service was perfect, very nice people and very clean. The atmosphere was very nice, I immediately felt at ease and so did my friends.

I tried the Argentinian ribeye steak, and it was the most delicious one I've ever had. I also enjoyed a mixed green salad, which was very tasty. The waiter, whose name I believe was Esmi, was very friendly. I highly recommend this place!

A great steakhouse! If I could add another star, I would have done so without hesitation. I had dinner here some time ago, but I still remember the attention of the owner in serving us and advising us. We opted for two Canadian fillets, the meat was excellent quality, cooked to perfection. For dessert, we enjoyed a delicious apple pie, followed by a Remy Martin XO. If I were to return to Amsterdam, I will not fail to return to this restaurant, where the attention to the customer and the attention to detail are truly unparalleled.

Not recommended. Price/quality ratio is not right. Steak is ok. Ok, not more than that. Are you willing to pay premium for ok? For ok, in everything, interior is very plain, food serving is very plain. For me is the one of this places, when you paid extra and later still have a question, what for?

Yesterday we some friends together visited there and have a nice evening there. The interior of the restaurant was really nice and vintage. we have some great meal there specially the carpaccio classico and lamb chops were great. And there are also varieties of dessert with drinks. The price was also normal 60 euro per person.

This is indeed a great steak house, good quality food, friendly service, good atmosphere. If you like steak, I'd really recommend trying this restaurant.

Very good Argentinian meat. Good service. A bit far from where I was staying but glad I came. They could improve the exterior a bit.

Had rib eyes and red wine Malbec with cheesecake. Everything is great.

The food was "alright". My main complaint about it would be the lack of marbling in their cuts of beef. I was with a large group, and we all had steaks, and we all remarked how little fat was on the steak. A very lean steak might be a Dutch thing, so maybe my critique is off target, but in my opinion, and experience a steak without much marbling has less flavor. Other than that it was a good location, clean, a bit small but that's common with Dutch restaurants in my experience, and the staff was great. More marbling would have earned them 4 stars maybe 5.

I purchased a medium steak, it was deliciously well cooked and came with a light pepper sauce that was delicious. The fries are super crispy and do not get cold and limp quickly. The interior is fantastic and even the toilets are beautiful. Overall a 4.5. Of the 5. Class

The best stake house ever I had visited .

a week ago I had a great time eating delicious food at your restaurant. The waiters and waitresses were committed to great service and were very friendly. The atmosphere was awesome and I definitely liked that you have a very modern style. Most importantly, every food and drink on your menu tasted great!

Meat was perfect. Side dish was good. Desert was very bad. The apple pie was simply thrown in the microwave and you could taste it, it was still moist.

My husband took me to this restaurant. You enter via a red carpet, so that makes you feel special. Beautiful setting, tables and lighting. It looks very cozy. They speak English when you come in, but that doesn't matter. Neatly shown to our table, we were allowed to choose for ourselves because it was not that busy yet. We immediately received the card and they waited politely until we were actually ready. It was in English and Dutch on the map. We both had a tomato soup as a starter, for the main course my husband had the New Zealand steak and I had the Argentinian steak. We simply had the beef spare ribs as an extra. Added fries as an extra and some sauces. It was pricey, but we knew that in advance when we looked at the menu at home. Drinks were quickly served and I think within half an hour our tomato soup arrived. The tomato soup was served with 1 piece of baguette (could have been a little more) but the soup was really delicious. We have never eaten such a delicious tomato soup as there, so tasty and creamy and it just tasted really good. When we finished the soup it took about 10 minutes and then our main course arrived. The steak was served with a delicious pepper sauce, the fries were fried well and golden yellow with the mayo and ketchup as we requested. We requested the spare ribs with garlic sauce. It was also very tasty, a bit different than usual because we always eat spareribs from a pig and not from a cow. We had so much food on the table that it almost didn't fit and the staff had to laugh about that. Still, after all that food, I wanted dessert. We had apple pie with whipped cream and a scoop of cinnamon ice cream. That was really so tasty, we really enjoyed it. Of course we also tried the toilet. You walk downstairs and you could actually smell the toilet. Type of incense with rose scent, very pleasant. This restaurant is highly recommended if you want to eat the tastiest steak ever and fantastic service and everything else. 5 stars well deserved. Greetings from the Grootjans family

It is a pettit little restaurant on the South East corner of Vondelpark. We were a party of 5 and went there for christmas dinner. Needless to say that the food and service was amazing. However it is outrageously expensive. 360 Euros for dinner for five without dessert and wine is outrageous and that is why I gave a 4 star instead of 5.

The food & service was excellent. Steak was perfectly cooked (one medium rare; 2x medium) and they removed all sinews.

If you want a really good steak, then this is the place. I had the Canadian fillet, it’s expensive but worth it. It was perfectly cooked, and the pepper and Bearnaise sauces that came with it were creamy and delicious. I’m told that the lamb fillet was also very good. The spinach side was very good too. The chips were ok, but not excellent by Amsterdam standards. The restaurant was spotlessly clean. The service was very friendly. If you want a great steak then I’d strongly recommend this place. Sunday evening was quiet and could have just walked in.

Best spot to eat high end meat in Amsterdam. The staff is kind and mindful. The location is wonderful with leather seats, dark wood tables and soft lightening. Our cuts of meat were delicious and cooked perfectly. Side dishes and dessert were good as well. Recommended.

Wir waren nach Reservierung mit 16 Personen dort. Leider war das Ergebnis enttäuschend. Obwohl das freundlich bemühte Personal die Bestellung recht schnell und geordnet aufgenommen hatte, verlief das Servieren völlig chaotisch. Das Timing lag teilweise so daneben, das zwischen der Anreichung des ersten Steaks und des letzten 34 Minuten vergingen. Beilagen kamen teilweise, nachdem das Fleisch schon gegessen war. Die Kellner hatte keine Ahnung, welches Fleisch sie auf dem Teller trugen, konnten daher auch nicht sagen für wen am Tisch es war...was dazu führte, dass fast alle Ihr Fleisch kalt essen mussten. Beschämend. Bei einem Preisniveau wie diesem erwartet man perfekten Service, nicht dilettantische Aushilfen. Die Qualität des Fleisches war gut, aber nicht dem Preis angemessen. Geschätzte 1000% Aufschlag auf den EK ist nicht sonderlich seriös. Kurz: Wer einen Laden führt, dessen Preise erst bei über 50 € für kleine Steaks anfangen und bei 300 € aufhören ( wohlbemerkt immer noch für kleine Steaks ), muss diesem Niveau auch gerecht werden...das war nicht der Fall. Sehr Schade.

Food is good, noisy place and the service can be better!

Die Steaks waren ok, aber nicht für die Preise. Vorspeisen und Desserts sind eine Zumutung, frisch aus der Fritteuse? Alles ist lieblos angerichtet und das Personal war total überfordert. Wer keinen Wein trinkt wird ignoriert. Geräuschpegel wird durch keinerlei Maßnahmen gedämpft.

We went there tonight for a special dinner. The service was amazing and the food was fantastic! The steaks were cooked to the right temperature. The mashed potatoes were scrumptious. Everything was on point. Definitely would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion! Fantastic

Having read the great reviews, I was expecting to see the restaurant's 'Beste Steakhouse' title justified, but eventually left underwhelmed. We had the spare ribs and the New Zealand fillet. They both tasted good, but nothing exceptional. The marinated ribs were a bit too sweet, the steak was quite good, though. I couldn't get the potato wedges due to gluten intolerance, so the waitress recommended french fries and salad instead. They were as basic as they can get; I wouldn't be surprised if the fries had come from a freezer. The service was fine but had some confusing moments around food intolerances. All in all, I don't regret going there but don't agree with the 5 star reviews. The food and service we received did not justify the prices, especially when compared with other similar restaurants.

Ate here last week with a group of 11. Chose 400 gr of Argentinean lomo. Sides were green asperagus and mashed potatoes. Can't fault the place, everything was delicious and the service was prompt and with a smile. My GF had the lambchops, which were the best she ever had. I have had cheaper lomo, but not better. Highly recommended.
