Disaster! Lunch ( food is a disaster, service, is no definition for that. What they calling cocktail, this is a colored water. 20 years ago I’ve lunched every day here.

I took the tomahawk. Best steak of my life. Perfectly cooked, high quality grass fed, tastefull and well balanced. The staff was professional. A very nice everning overal for my birthday.

We were there mid January and it was our food highlight of the trip, the chef Lucas did amazing every bite was delicious and Claudia who kindly served us was so attentive and we felt special always making sure we were good for everything, I would not go the same place twice on a holiday but we will definitely be back there thanks guys!!

Not recommended. Good quality meat which is unfortunately prepared on a baking tray with oil. Quality deteriorates and it feels like you are chewing on a piece of cardboard. How do you think about frying on a baking tray as a restaurant with good quality meat?

Service could be friendlier, food great

I’ve had a lot of steaks, but this is the last place where I’ll have steak – they’re truly exceptional. The staff is incredibly kind and polite.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, and guests are warmly welcomed at the entrance. However, the service had some shortcomings. When placing our order, the waiter seemed unsure about the available non-alcoholic drinks, which caused an awkward pause. The food took longer to prepare than expected, giving us time to observe the open kitchen. Unfortunately, we noticed that the chef tasted the food using the same spoon repeatedly, dipping it back into the sauces. While it may show attention to flavor, this practice raises serious concerns about hygiene. That said, the food itself was impressive. The truffle risotto was so delicious that it almost made me forget what I had seen. The steak was tender, flavorful, and aromatic, while the wine was truly a masterpiece. Overall, the restaurant has great potential, but attention to hygiene and service details is essential for an even better experience.

Excellent atmosphere with quality meat cooked to perfection. We were served by Cláudia and Gino, who spoke Portuguese, making our dinner even more enjoyable! Definitely a restaurant to add to your itinerary!

I am from NYC and I was with my crazy snobby Italian family. They loved it. My Mom kept saying the food was outrageous while my Aunt devoured the whole meal.

We had the best steak we have ever eaten for dinner on New Year's Eve. Staff could not have been more helpful. Claudia explained the meat cuts to us, Regi gave us a wonderful story about the wine we ordered, and Lucas cooked our meal to absolute perfection. To top it all off, Claudia and Regi made sure my proposal to my now fiance went off without a hitch, including filming it for me without me even asking them to! Our experience was perfect in every way!"

I recently enjoyed a delightful breakfast at The Midtown Grill, thanks to the exceptional service from Hang and Selvi. The menu offered a variety of delicious options, and my Amsterdam eggs was perfectly cooked. Hang and Selvi's attentive care and warm hospitality made the experience truly memorable. Highly recommended!

Terrific experience. Excellent welcome. Impeccable service. For meat lovers, the waiter takes the time to explain where the meat comes from, what cuts it is, so you know perfectly well what will be on your plate and at what price. A treat! We greatly enjoyed our Christmas dinner in a gentle and calm atmosphere.

I've visited the Midtown Grill many times before, it is always an excellent experience. Recently went to the Sunday brunch and had a fantastic time. Highly recommend to all!

Brunch in a different way. The brunch includes a glass of sparkling wine with an oyster. Then came the table grill with a great selection of meat and side dishes. The table was really full. Everything was super tasty and it was enough. Dessert was served at a small buffet with cakes, macarons, etc. It was my husband's birthday, so there was a birthday cake with a fountain and a serenade 😉 and there was grilled marshmallow on the bill. So sweet. And it tasted fantastic and it's also fantastic to eat on the menu for dinner.

Loved the food. Our waitress, she was so nice and good of service. I loved her vibes and asked everything if we were okay when she passed.

It has been a very good experience, the place is charming and full of good atmosphere and pleasant atmosphere, our host Maria was in charge of making the experience even better thanks to her dedication to us when explaining and advising us what to choose, the food was incredible you can see that the quality of the meat is top, the cocktails are delicious and in general it is a place that I will definitely return to.

The restaurant is really nicely done and the service is attentive. Since we expected a lot of meat on the menu and are both vegetarians, we were surprised that there were so many delicious vegetarian dishes. We had the mushroom risotto and the cauliflower with truffle fries and were very satisfied! Everything was very tasty and the waitress brought us warm bread with butter as an appetizer and marshmallows as a small dessert. Both were nice little touches that definitely made the evening nicer. It's worth waiting a little longer for the food. We would definitely come back! :)

The service was exceptional, they made our anniversary dinner extremely special by going above and beyond for us. The food was delicious and cocktails also fantastic. The smores to end the evening is a genius touch, really enjoyed them.

A really lovely restaurant with many added touches. The knife service they do looked great, sadly our waitress just brought over two knives and said the rest were “out” even though she had shown them to a man at the bar shortly afterwards, so that was disappointing. Service very patchy but after highlighting this, they went above and beyond to try to improve our experience. Food was great, we had the chateaubriand medium which was still pretty moo-tasting for me in the middle so be careful with that! Prawns, corn ribs, truffle fries and kale Caesar were divine. The brownie for dessert wasn’t amazing and could have been more dense. All in all an enjoyable experience

The food was exceptionally good. I had the Picanha steak and it was so moist and flavorful. The hasselback potato was something I never had tried before and it was delicious. The service was exceptional as well.

Last week, we enjoyed a dinner at Midtown grill. It was a great evening! The waiter started by explaining the several meats, taste and structures at your table. We started with the steak tartare and Alaskian crab legs (both amazing!). As main: we ordered some big items to share (dry-age tomahwak and Rubia Gallegia rib roast). Both where really great and tastefull. We also ordered the half lobster tail (what turned out to be a half lobster), but this was OK but not any special. In general, ambiance is really nice. Service in my opinion can be better (they forget twice a drink & after main it took very long before the waiter asked us for dessert). But in general, great location and ambiance to have some great meat dishes!

Really great meal with halal steak options!

I live in Amsterdam and have sampled widely, and I have not tasted- and it would be hard to imagine- a better steak in this city (or even country). The beef is sourced very carefully and prepared perfectly. (If you want American "medium rare" ask for "medium"- European gradations are different). My only gripe is the classic side (creamed spinach) is not offered!

Been here 3 times. The first times the food and service was very good, but yesterday we were very disappointed. Meat is of good quality, but was poorly prepared. Ingredients were not fresh. Mashed potatoes clearly just came from a bag! Service was not good. It started with having to order our water 3 times before we finally got it. We always had to wait a long time for our food and the staff seemed ignorant. A very big difference from the first times we came here. It's really not worth the money anymore. Very unfortunate!

Disappointing from start to end, clearly meant to capitalize on the captive audience of hotel guests. To start, we arrived at around 9pm to a clearly half empty restaurant. Without even bothering to check for cancellations the receptionist told us they were overbooked. See video of restaurant. After asking her twice to check she relented and spoke to her manager and *miraculously* four tables opened up. We were then pried with excuses such as oh one of our staff called in sick, there is a large booking (you get the drift). And there wasn’t a large booking - so clearly there was a degree of dishonesty here. On to the food - we got the 600g tenderloin to share and the French onion soup plus seasonable veg. Poor excuse for a steak - barely seasoned and bland. French onion soup was basically a sponge of cheese and foie gras was the size of a British pound coin. Zero value for money. I wish I could say this is an isolated incident but alas there is a running theme in this Marriott chain of abysmal service. There’s a reason every hotel chain was booked out for the EADV save for here. At least this restaurant doesn’t have to worry about us every coming back.

Had heard many good things about the restaurant before deciding to visit, sadly it didn't quite live up to expectations. Firstly, I'll be honest, the steak was perfect!! Cooked exactly as requested and so tender the knife glided through. Sadly the sides let the meal down. Mashed Potatoes had consistancy of a thick soup and simply oozed across the plate and dripped off the fork. Creamed Spinach was more a bowl of cream with a couple of spinach leaves draped across it. Steak sauce, couldn't tell you, it never arrived. Dessert?? Didn't stay for one - something about having the dessert menu being printed on the back of a postcard makes you feel that they only consider them to be an afterthought. The hero steak definitely saved the expertience!! The decor was great. Felt exactly as you'd want a top end steakhouse to feel. The service was a tale of two halves - the hostess was amazing and engaging throughout, however tthe server seemed to want to be anywhere else but at work. A very expensive expereince for something that was quite average

We enjoyed our meal at the Midtown Grill - Viewing the steaks 🥩 on the trolley and being told their origin and differences. I also got to pick a special steak knife! I chose the New York strip, with vegetables, and m wife chose the Tuna appetizer. Along with the wine 🍷 and fun dessert roasting marshmallows, the meal was fun, delicious and outstanding.

The seared tuna starter and Daddy's cut fillet with salted fries were AMAZING!

I've been here 4 times, and each time the service is worse than the last so much so we have stopped going. Individual staff are polite but management are rude. This place surpasses even Amsterdam's low standards at slow service. First 2 visits my steak was great and for the last 2 they have been undercooked, serviced blue/rare which is not my preference. The sauces are always cold. The decor and drinks are good. The post card is a lovely touch.

5 stars are very few, it deserves at least double. Finely furnished room. More than excellent service; exquisite, quality meat. The flambéed marshmallows were very welcome. Experience to be repeated... highly recommended

Breakfast at the Midtown is perfection. The best part was the wait staff, particularly Imola. She remembered my husband’s coffee preference from the previous visit and did all she could to address our needs. We hope to return soon and look forward to finding Imola when we do.

People working in the restaurant extremely gross. Disgusting attitude. I wait nearly 50min to get a steak. In my house I took maximum 4 min to make it. I don’t recommend anyone to come here

Environment devoid of personality, upon entry greeted in a cold and at times rude manner. I waited over an hour to get my food. I expected more given the reviews

Brunch came with an excellent spread. Portion sizes were sufficient. In particular, the steak tartare and Bavette steak were very flavourful! Service by Gaia was also attentive!

We came tonight for dinner to celebrate my partners 30th birthday, Claudia especially was amazing from start to finish! We had an unforgettable experience, perfect service and compliments to Fabio the chef ! Food was exceptional

Went here for my partner bday dinner, we ordered nice steak and also the whole Canadian lobster with some side dishes. Must said food is phenomenal, and also the service, had a surprised bday cake and also grilled marshmallows to top it up. Ty! Def would recommend

Given the rave reviews, we wanted to try it. We were disappointed. Scallops as a starter which were just ok. The meat is ok nothing more. The peppercorn sauce tastes like an industrial sauce. The puree was worthy of a sachet mousseline puree, the salad seasoned with a very, very sweet balsamic vinegar. The bread was very good though, as was the head of candied garlic that accompanies the steak. The service is very chaotic and not attentive, contrary to the reviews I have read. We feel a heavy atmosphere between the staff. The chef forgets that he has an open kitchen and spends his shift shouting and getting angry at the waiters.

The atmosphere and the service is very good, beyond Amsterdam average. But I cannot tell the same for the meat. We ordered several different meats but I've had better in many low end places. The side foods are ok as well. Overall it is a good experience with the olace ans service but ordinary food experience. I still recommend this place and will visit again to taste other options

Honestly it was a really great dining experience. Our server was amazing. My husband and I were impressed. He was very welcoming and engaging and had great customer service. He was knowledgeable about the steaks and kindly explained us all. When we tasted our steak it was even better and it melted in mouth with so much lovely flavours we both said to each other that it was the one of the best steak we have ever had. We found Midtown Grill so relaxing with no rush from the staff to get us out and I would say that if you get the opportunity to try this place… please do!! as you definitely will not be disappointed and we would highly recommend.

The brunch was wonderful! If you're looking for a tasteful brunch to start your midday endeavors look no further. Everything from start to finish was delicious and very filling, it is well worth the price. I sadly didn't make it to the dessert but my friend said it was delicious. The service was top notch! Carmen and Gaia were so attentive and sweet, I genuinely felt at home here. Everything was served warm and fresh. Asked for medium rare and got that exactly. The cava feels light and greatly compliments everything that is served which I haven't experienced before. Thanks to Chef Gabriel! 10/5 if you ask me. It was my first brunch at Midtown Grill but definitely not my last! See you guys very soon😁

Food is great. Location and atmosphere too. The management of this business should only tackle the hostesses. The restaurant is empty and if people want to eat spontaneously without a reservation, this is not possible while the whole place is half empty. Hostes makes no effort to keep the place full all the time and prefers to send potential customers away. The business can generate much more turnover, but put an experienced person at the door and not someone who is afraid of getting busy!

The meal was excellent. The tartare 10/10 and the main course perfectly summed up.

I recently visited Midtown Grill and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, decoration very unique, a perfect choice for a nice dinner. The food was just perfect. The steak was cooked just right, juicy and full of flavor. The side dishes were also delicious. The wine selected by our waiter was excellent, a perfect combination for our meal. What made the night even more special was the service of our waiter, Simos. From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, helpful, and very attentive. He not only provided great recommendations and made sure we always had what we needed, but he also made us feel very well taken care of. His excellent service made our visit even more enjoyable. Compared to many other restaurants in Amsterdam, Midtown Grill was a very pleasant surprise. The quality of the food, the ambience and the outstanding service really stood out. Moreover, the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. I highly recommend it, for a wonderful dinner, I will definitely be back!

Best steakhouse to be in Amsterdam

I’m sorry to say this but this was THE worse dining experience ever. Firstly place smells like an old American diner, it gives that vibe too with the type of people and food. Oysters were spoiled and smelled disgusting, the waiter told us he would take it off the bill but he didn’t. Wedge salad looked miserable, steak was dry and sad. The table booth was full of breadcrumbs. They seemed understaffed. I thought we would be coming to an upscale steakhouse but this was just BAD. I was so hungry and looked forward to this food, but had to go to grocery store after to buy some snacks considering it was too late to go elsewhere.

The food was decent. Not bad but not robust in flavor. The onion soup was beautiful but the flavor profile was sweet and light, not savory as I expected. That might be someone else’s preference however. Sitting down, we were asked what we wanted to drink which was great but then it took almost 30 minutes to get our bottle of water. They had forgotten and we had to ask again. It wasn’t a bad experience per se, but the service was not very prompt or consistent. Everyone was very nice though.

Staying at Marriott hotel for 8 days and they advised to eat here. At 6:30 in the empty restaurant the lady at the entrance tried to park me at the bar as I didn’t have a reservation. When I refused, she then goes like well okay I can see what else is available. Well there are 10 steakhouses around you… 😉

The meat has a very good taste and is very tender. Whether dry aged or normally stored, it is incredible. The cheese is also very remarkable. The kitchen crew has a great team spirit and conjures up various courses that not only taste great, but are also very appealing to the eye.

The beef tartare and foie gras is nice but the aged bones steak is bad, I can’t feel the aged taste, and even no taste for the meat, not delicious at all , I am steak lover which makes me so disappointed. And I order foie gras for the second round and wait for long time , finally they didn’t put in order. And the staffs are quite busy to serve other customers and pay less attention to us maybe because we are Chinese.

Perfect, T Bone was great but we ordered medium, it was medium rare.

I was amazed by the outstanding service that Selvi had delivered. She could distinctively recalled my favourite breakfast dish and even before I ordered she have taken the initiative to ordered it for me. Such amazing and friendly service should be commended! Well done, selvi!

Great place to visit in Amsterdam if you are a steaklover. The staff took its time to explain us all the meat sources and gave us great recommendations to order. We felt greatly welcome by the whole staff, which was very contious. And of course the food was amazing!

The food is very good. They showcase their meat very elegantly. I spent my anniversary here and they treated us very well. They surprised us with marshmallows and cake on the house. They also made a cute polaroid and gave us a card. Recommend!

We preferred local Dutch steak, but it did not resemble dried and aged steak at all. Taste was not good and my steak was not cooked the way I preferred. The waiter accepted it was his fault and cooked again. Served a dessert for pleasure. The tiramisu was nice, the marshmallows they served at the end were enjoyable, but I think it is an overrated place for such a steak restaurant.

Very nice service. Good restaurant atmosphere. Food/meat was definitely not worth the money. For less money I know much better addresses in Adam. Plates very plain, meat little taste. Mashed potatoes are ready-made and cold, just like the vegetables and soup. Brownie dessert not great either. No, not worth repeating for us. Fortunately the service was very nice otherwise we would have had a bad aftertaste.
