Cannot speak highly enough about this place! Incredible food, service and atmosphere. The server was amazing and very friendly and helpful. And the dry aged ribeye was probably the best steak I ever had. Which is saying a lot.

We celebrated our anniversary here and had an amazing experience! We ordered steaks and French fries — everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. As a lovely surprise for our special occasion, we were treated to complimentary desserts of our choice, and even a small bonfire with marshmallows, which was such a unique and memorable touch. We were truly delighted! The service was outstanding: the waiters were very attentive, regularly checking if everything was okay and making sure we felt comfortable. Fantastic atmosphere, excellent food, and top-level service. Highly recommended — we will definitely come back!

The Midtown Grill is located inside the Marriott Amsterdam hotel. I visited here for dinner as part of my birthday celebrations in the city. I do recommend having a reservation, as I was previously turned away here earlier on in my trip, and it can get pretty popular. The interior is large, with interesting artwork and large booths, giving it a premium feel. It is a little pricey, but nothing too extreme considering it is the main restaurant inside a five-star hotel. For allergens, there is a QR code on the regular menu, which leads to their allergen menu. I do think having physical copies of their allergen menu could be useful and perhaps making this clear, especially in regards to cross-contamination, for example the french fries are listed as not containing gluten on the menu, however my server advised me that they were fried in a shared frier, making them not suitable for coeliacs/allergy sufferers - I just feel this should have been clearly stated on their allergen menu. My server was excellent and tried to make my experience as good as possible, as she knew I was in Amsterdam to celebrate my birthday, even offering a Crème brûlée with two large flames at the end of the meal as a dessert. The only thing I didn’t like was before ordering, they gave me what felt like a long sales pitch on the steaks, explaining every one in detail, carrying around a meat cart, while I get this is useful information for those considering steaks, I just felt carrying raw meat in a tray around a restaurant and leaving it in the middle of the dining area was rather strange. I had a long wait for my food, but it was worth the wait. I went for the roast chicken and truffled mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the truffled mashed potatoes were creamy, amazing, and so delicious. My server did guide me to order extra sides, mentioning it probably wouldn’t be enough food if not, so I did order an extra bowl of mashed potatoes, I did find that much of the mashed potatoes to become really rich and overwhelming, I would have liked slightly more chicken, or other vegetables to balance out the dish but the flavours of what was served, were definitley on point. I loved the extra features at the end of my meal, which felt like a spectacle, and something which you’ll remember for a long time, including being able to toast my own marshmallows on a flame and the Crème brûlée. I had a good time here and enjoyed my food and I would for sure return during future trips to Amsterdam.

I had a medium-rare sirloin steak here, and it was just right: juicy, beautifully pink, and full of flavor. The side dishes were simple but well-prepared. The service was attentive and professional. Pricey, but the quality is excellent.

Also, we asked the steak to be Medium rare which was poorly cooked and actually served as rare. Such experiences indicate that I will no longer visit or recommend this place

We started with carpaccio and scallops, which both where very good. But for the carpaccio where the meat was already fatty, it was a bit too much mayo. We had a tomahawk for sharing which was very good and came with different sauces. The extras as mashed potato and vegetables are also sharing sizes. The service was fantastic when we first arrived, but as the restaurant started to be full with guests, the service became way slower and more busy.

Unfortunately the experience was definitely not worth the price at all: despite reservation, we sit waiting for our order for one hour, without even a piece of bread or butter, just salt and olive oil. This is interesting because the place was not even that full and it was 8pm. Then our steaks arrived, despite specifying our cooking preference they were all rare (even the filet which we asked medium). Finally, I got up and asked for the bill and was sent back to the table to wait another 15-20 min for it. I couldn't take it anymore after that and went to the exit to pay. Poor service, mid meat, poor cooking. Won't visit again. Not suggested unless you are an hotel guest and you have no other place to go.

We stayed at the Amsterdam Marriott for a few days and went around the city looking for good restaurants. Little did we know that there was such a great restaurant right at our hotel!!! We tried it on the last night we were here because of rain but wished we had tried it earlier! Great atmosphere, easy to visit and the food was exceptional! We had the ribeye steak and it was done perfectly, meat quality was very good. Loved the baked potato and vegetable sides. Desert was also very good. Great service from Claudia and chef Dionysus prepared our meals just right! Thank you so much! Don’t wait till a rainy night to try this place, try it now.

Five of us went for dinner. We didn't make a reservation. We were treated phenomenally. Attentive and polite. The waiter's name begins with an O, and I can't remember it because I can't repeat it. The grilled chicken and octopus were delicious, along with vegetables and homemade mashed potatoes. Local wine. The decor was beautiful. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was excellent — we had the Chateaubriand, which was fantastic. The only area for improvement was the service: not once were we asked if everything was okay or if we’d like another drink. When I finally managed to wave down a waiter and ordered a beer, it never arrived, and I couldn’t get anyone’s attention again. There were enough staff on the floor, but the waiters were rushing around like headless chickens. The open kitchen, however, was a delight to watch — very professional and a pleasure to see in action. Despite the service, we’d definitely come back.👏

A very bad experience. Our group was treated unfairly because we were having a good time and sometimes talked a bit louder, and we were immediately labeled drunk. Which, in reality, wasn't true, as we were only given one beer each and then weren't allowed to order more because of the noise. We received the food, but it wasn't exactly what we ordered! No apology was given for that either; they simply said we ordered it ourselves! All in all, a very poor, unfriendly place!

I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday after reading many positive reviews, and I was truly impressed. The service was excellent, and all the food was delicious. Upon arrival by the entrance, it smelled like trash. Maybe this was the hotel’s fault but still not exactly welcoming in a restaurant. Ordered steak and the cod. Steak was good, not the best USDA certified I’ve had but definitely not bad. The Atlantic cod on the other hand was quite flavorless. No salt and the sauce wasn’t helping much. Mac & cheese was okay, also lacking some seasoning. I would say the desserts were better than the main meal itself. The upside was is that we had a very nice and attentive waiter.

After taking seats at our table according to the reservation, a manager asked us to go out as we have brought our Yorshire Terrier with us. It is frustrating that Marriott is a Pet Friendly hotel and their Midtown Grill Retaurant is not! But the biggest disappointment with them is the mail received the second day (attached herewith), where they consider the incident as a big missed steak. For us it was a missed opportunity to celebrate our special occasion. Just business from their side. No emotions, no client orientation. A disgrace.

I initially ordered medium-rare steak, but the waiter recommended medium because the meat was thick, so I ordered medium, but it was overcooked, so I just got well-done. If you're going to order something, don't listen to the waiter and just order what you originally ordered. They gave me garlic with the steak, which was delicious. The s'mores were also delicious.

The service was so bad that I'll never go back. The steaks aren't that good, though. I also missed the "grilled" finish on the steaks. Not grilled at a high temperature? The flavor didn't really stand out either. The sauces were also bland. My steak at home is much better, so what would make it special here is beyond me. The carpaccio, on the other hand, was delicious. But back to the service. The main course arrived an hour later than expected. The table was also cleared very late. The waiter was all over the place. We ordered drinks, and that easily took 25 minutes even though the place wasn't full. They don't really know how to smile either. The bald man who brought the steaks was confused about which of our steaks needed medium and which sauce. He seemed too stressed, and a smile wasn't even an option. I didn't think this restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere. Stiff, average food, and the worst service ever. Great for tourists.

The food was genuinely delicious: pricey, but the wagyu was worth it. Unfortunately, the service was a real letdown. From the moment we arrived, something felt off. There was a strong smell of manure at the entrance, which even other guests noticed. Then came a series of delays: we had a 21:00 reservation, weren’t seated until 21:30, our order wasn’t taken until after 22:15, and our food didn’t arrive until after 23:00. Almost two hours of waiting, with no apology or acknowledgment. We were told we’d be given a “VIP table” for the long wait but ended up at a regular booth and received anything but VIP treatment. The hostess seemed disengaged, and our waiter paid far more attention to another table nearby. Meanwhile, we were mostly ignored; no check-ins, no updates, just food dropped off with minimal interaction. What made it especially frustrating was how unprovoked it all felt. We were a polite group, ordered generously, and were genuinely trying to enjoy a special night out with visiting family. There was no reason to be treated with such indifference. Felt nearly discriminatory. The food was actually good but the service made the experience feel uncomfortable and unhappy. I wouldn’t return, not because of the food but because we simply didn’t feel valued as guests.

Came here solely to try the Rubia Gallega (Galician Blond), which has a reputation of being one of the the most naturally flavorful cattle breeds in the world. I would say that reputation held true! We had the Rubia Gallega 800 gram Rib Roast for two. It was amazingly flavorful! In comparison to Wagyu, I would say that it's remarkable that Rubia Gallega has that much flavor without the legendary marbling that Wagyu has. But yeah, the meat wasn't particularly well marbled. In addition, the meat itself as well as the connective tissues were quite tough to chew. This is likely just because it's an older, grass-fed cattle, but just FYI it won't be like the melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu experience. But on the chef's end, he cooked the steak perfectly. I was hoping for an au jus but they didn't have it. This was probably for the better since Rubia Gallega is so much more flavorful than American Angus beef that an au jus might have clashed with it. In return they had a great chimichurri sauce that paired with the steak very well. We had scallops and a side salad to accompany the steak. The scallops were cooked to perfection and delicious. On the other hand, the salad was rather inappropriately drenched in a quite salty dressing, maybe to mask the fact that kale doesn't really taste that good. I will note that the restaurant was potentially understaffed at the time as the servers were rushing around trying to handle multiple tables and the food was extremely slow to come out. Even the receptionist was missing from the front for a while because she was helping out. However the service itself was excellent.

We came to this restaurant to celebrate our son’s VWO graduation, having been told it was the best steakhouse in town. We just went from problems to problems. Some of the issues were just bad luck: • The fries were limp, not crispy, and tasted odd. Why can't they make the most simple potatoes recipe? stick to classic fries or chips. • Their big “Argentinian steak knives” couldn’t cut anything. Even the waiter admitted, “We know, management refuses to replace them.” I still had to wait five minutes just to get a proper knife, by which time my food was just waiting getting colder. very disappointed : • Our €€€ Spanish meat (yes! 3 digits!!!) was ready sooner than other meals and they just let it wait on a counter... to cool down. • Their website shows meat served on a hot iron cast with candles to keep it warm. In reality, the cast iron was room temperature. that's the worst that could happen: the cold iron cast was actually cooling the meat!!!! (by sucking all the heat in the meat). When I complained, the waiter immediately knew the issue before I finished my sentence!!!! • I expected the very hot iron cast to continue the cooking and keep it warm towards the end of the dinner. as such I asked for medium rare. but with a cold iron cast, we were just eating raw cold meat. • The reheated cast iron came back warm, not hot, no sizzle, (as all other restaurants do with meat on iron cast). The entire evening was frustration. Cold, chewy, raw meat. A ruined celebration. We only finished our meals because my wife insisted — too expensive to waste. I wanted to complain, but she didn’t want a scene and even insisted on leaving a tip. I strongly objected, but lost that argument too. We spent nearly €300 on this disaster. I am utterly disgusted. on the good side: • The waitress was kind and polite but you knew she knew something was wrong with (especially with the knife and cold iron cast) • Starters and bread were decent. • One guest had the risotto and enjoyed it. I waited a week to write this, to be sure I was being fair and truthful. I would not return to this restaurant.

Very disappointing experience We had high hopes for Midtown Grill, but unfortunately, the visit was a major letdown. The food was extremely underwhelming – bland, overpriced, and definitely not what you’d expect from a place with this reputation. Even more disappointing was the service. The waitress who served us was dismissive and made us feel like we were a burden rather than guests. There was no warmth or effort to make the experience pleasant.

This is a lovely spot for breakfast with a nice mix of choices. The buffet is well organized and clean, offering fresh fruit, assorted pastries, pancakes, different types of cheese, and spreads like jam, honey, and butter. They have scrambled eggs on the buffet, but if you’re like me and prefer a different style, you can order your eggs freshly made just as you like. They also have several fresh juices, along with tea and coffee. Although the buffet is not very big, it has enough variety to suit most tastes. I especially liked the muffins and hash browns. The staff are very friendly, and I’d like to give a special thanks to Imola for her warm smile and excellent service. She always makes sure we have everything we need.

Extremely disappointing. I came in expecting something exceptional. My server couldn’t be bothered to show the slightest professionalism. No check-in, no care, just dropped the plate and vanished. I sat for over 15 minutes with an undercooked steak. When I finally got his attention, I was gaslit and told this was “medium rare in Europe.” Medium rare is universal. It’s a temperature: 130–135°F or 54–57°C. Not a cultural opinion. For a restaurant that brands itself as one of Amsterdam’s best, this was laughably poor. Arrogant and to be avoided unless you enjoy having your expectations underwhelmed, just like your steak.

The dry-aged ribeye was one of the best steaks I have ever had. The fries were top notch. The steak did not need sauce, but the green peppercorn and bernaise sauces were excellent. The hazelnut brownie was really good as well. The only mildly disappointing feature was the vanilla ice cream, but it wasn't bad. Just could have been better. They also gave me some marshmallows to roast at the end of the meal. I have been impressed here in the past as well. One of the best hotel restaurants I have been too if not the best I have been to in Amsterdam.

We had dinner at Midtown Grill and it was without hesitation one of the best experiences we've had — if not the best in terms of meat! The quality of the meat was simply exceptional. The cooking was perfectly mastered for our two dishes: a big congratulations and thank you to the chef. The truffle fries were crispy and flavorful, the sauces perfectly balanced — everything came together for a memorable meal. The service was also up to par: attentive, professional and warm. It’s an address that we will return to without hesitation, again and again. A real gem in Amsterdam for meat lovers.

Food was certainly good, but the price-quality ratio was disappointing. Compared to other grill restaurants in Amsterdam, you pay more here, while the food elsewhere is just as good or even better. The service was okay and they had provided a nice extra for a birthday, which was certainly appreciated. The atmosphere in the evening is pleasant: warmly lit tables create a cozy setting. All in all not a bad experience, but personally I think you get more value for your money elsewhere.

We were not disappointed Claudia was our host and she was extremely pleasant and professional good knowledge of the menu & steak. We received a very friendly welcome and even though we were too early we were able to sit at the table straight away. There are both English and Dutch speaking staff. This was especially nice when explaining the meat. They come to the table with a cart with everything on it. This way you can make a better choice. You can then also choose a knife, we found this a bit strange and unnecessary. Just give it a good knife and save the charade. Pre-work sandwich served with butter. On the advice of a waiter, we mixed the butter with oil and sea salt. This was very tasty. The carpaccio was very tasty. Very soft and tasty and "plain" as it should be. With a bit of arugula, parmesan and pine nuts. We asked for a matching wine and got a pinot noir, which was great. As a main course we had the chatteu briand. Super tasty and soft with delicious sauces. As a side dish we had the hacked patato with bacon. We found this to be mediocre in taste. The seasonal vegetables were fine. For dessert we had the crème brulee which was very good. And the cheesecake was fine, nothing special. The Irish coffee was very good. We were also offered marshmallows but were full of the rest. We will definitely come back again

The most disgusting sexism experience... One of their dishes is called "lady steak" and one another is called "daddy steak" and the daddy steak portion is much bigger to the lady's one❗ why is that❓ That's very poor marketing, moreover the reception is out of control and felt they don't treat customers fairly and equally. Visited this amazing restaurant that served premium cuts of meat, perfectly cooked and paired with a succulent lobster tail—absolutely delicious! Rizon is committed to service excellence. He is approachable and display a mega positive attitude. He is dynamic and exhibited great passion in his job-always with a smile even though he was overwhelmed with plenty of requests… He was very accommodating and was prompt in our table service requests.Its my first time having breakfast here and l definitely look forward to coming back again…. This was by far the best experience I had from an excellent service personnel in Amsterdam and not forgetting the rest of the team members whom ensured a seamless experience for their hotel guests....
