We really enjoyed the Midtown Grill at the end of a long day of adventures. Cameron took great care of us, was highly attentive, and helped us navigate several dietary restrictions. Would recommend!

Don't go to this restaurant. It's ridiculously expensive for the mediocre quality. They present the meat platter to customers, but the meat itself isn't amazing. Fries and salads are extra, so it's a complete rip-off. You can eat so much better for less. The cheapest steak costs between 35 and 50 euros without fries or salad. It's simply outrageous, especially since the steak wasn't cooked properly.

I went to the restaurant late last night with 2 friends of mine. It's a beautiful restaurant with beautiful decor. A nice variety of food and wine if you really enjoy that scene. Magda was our server. She was a consummate professional. Very friendly, speaks multiple languages, checking in to see if we needed anything. She did her job with a smile while being very helpful. She's a great asset (with the patience of a saint). The staff I encountered were very friendly. Although almost horror was expressed when I said I like my steak well done (In a joking way). The food was incredible, as was the selection and the service. The place was spotless. It's just a great place to go out for food, regardless of age or group. There's a lovely view of the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam at night from the inside (the restraint was packed well after 10pm at night) A memorable night at a memorable restaurant. I highly recommend them.

Had breakfast here. The eggs and hot drinks to order. Was immediately seated by the waitress Hang at the entrance. She even know to direct me to my friend who was already seated - with my minimum description ☺️ We were served by Selvi who was very forthcoming with our coffee and eggs orders. The atmosphere is so luxurious with the wooden walls and the amazing view of the lush trees in front of Marriott Amsterdam.

The food was okay overall — nothing particularly special. The carpaccio and French fries, however, were really delicious and definitely the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. We had to wait a very long time for the staff to come to our table, and it often felt like no one was paying attention to us. We constantly had to look around and try to catch a waiter’s attention whenever we needed something. Everything took much longer than it should have, which made the overall experience less enjoyable. The food was decent, but the service definitely needs improvement.

What a wonderful evening we had here. The atmosphere in the place is incredibly pleasant and inviting. We really enjoyed the cheesecake, which was beautifully served with fresh raspberries and a lovely sauce. Roasting marshmallows ourselves over the small fire on the table was also a super fun experience. Everything tasted fantastic and the presentation was meticulously taken care of. We will definitely be back here soon for a next time. Highly recommended for anyone in the area.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow – everything here is just perfect! We've been here four or five times now and have never been disappointed. Quite the opposite: every time, our now very high expectations are exceeded. The ambiance is captivating from the moment you walk in. Everything is stylish, tidy, and impeccably clean. The service is incredibly friendly and cheerful – you immediately feel the pleasant atmosphere and positive vibes throughout the entire restaurant. The open kitchen is particularly impressive. You can tell the chefs love their work and are passionate about what they do. They handle the meat with great care, and the explanations of the different steaks make the experience even more special. The table setting is also very well done, and the adjoining bar offers excellent cocktails. The menu is deliberately small, but exceptionally high-quality. Whether carpaccio, scallops, or beef tartare – the appetizers are creative and delicious. The steak itself is simply fantastic – not least because of the braised garlic, which complements it perfectly. The lobster was also excellently prepared and highly recommended. The experience was rounded off by the consistently superb desserts. We highly recommend this restaurant and it's definitely one of our favorites. We'll definitely be back!

I had an extremely great experience with the service at Midtown Grill , Breakfast buffet . I was warmly greeted and welcomed by 03 lovely Service Personel , SELVI, FAMILIA and HANG. They were seen always so approachable , friendly and Prompt towards everyone around me. They were extremely polite and professional. My drinks were always actively refilled and promptly served. They even recommended me vegetarian options that not on the serving table segments . They checked on my and others dinning experiences, attentive towards everyone’s comfort and needs . They were truly the great ambassadors of Midtown Grill . Their top service attention and personalise care are truly applaudable

5 stars all round. If you are a steak and wine lover put this on your list. It’s in the Marriott but don’t let that fool you. Amazing!

We paid too much money for a taste that wasn't there. We regretted our visit. The atmosphere and location are nice, and the staff are decent. But the taste was a complete disappointment.

We take the rubia galega, it is good, just more than half is fat, on 1kg we order is like 400gr fat / 200gr bone and just 400gr is beef… Actually we always take the rubia in other restaurants, ofc is normal that is fat, but not like this…

We had dinner at Midtown Grill and had an amazing experience. They were hosting a special event featuring premium beef cuts from Latin America, and everything we tried was excellent. The ribeye, in particular, was absolutely outstanding — incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and honestly one of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time. What made the evening even better was the service. Simos, our server, was friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive throughout the night. He made us feel very welcome and really elevated the whole dining experience. We will definitely visit again!

Our dinner at the Midtown Grill was a highlight of our trip. The service is top-notch and the food and drinks were delicious. I have Celiac so need to eat gluten-free, so there were lots of options, including the fries. We each had the grilled chicken and shared sides of asparagus and truffle fries, then shared the cheese board and sorbet for dessert. It was all divine. The roasted marshmallows at the end were a lovely way to top it all off. Highly recommend!

I don’t even know where to begin. We were greeted by a lovely lady in green and felt welcome right away. Gino helped us choosing our steaks by explaining all the parts of the beef (how they do it is a surprise you should see for yourselves). We tasted the picanha, the chicken and the tenderloin and all of it was just soooooo delicious. As I’m writing this I can seriously go for seconds. The tiramisu for me was a personal favorite. Best tiramisu I’ve tasted and I’m very critical about my tiramisu it’s not even funny. We got a surprise afterwards as well but that all you just have to come and find out for yourselves. We definitely will be back! Thank you guys again and a special thanks for helping me celebrate my fathers birthday!!!

On social media, it looked promising. Unfortunately, in real time, it was quite different. The food was tasty but nothing special. We had the 99 euro set menu, and they started clearing the table before I had finished my main course. It felt quite rushed. All in all, we had a pleasant evening, but it is not something we would repeat.

We booked The Midtown Grill after seeing great reviews for our friends Birthday. We dined on Fri 24th April and there was 6 of us. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing with a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are very attentive, our waiter was full of information on every bit of steak he showed us, he was full of knowledge and it was a good experience. Our starters were wonderful and they do great Calamari! The wine was very pleasing. The steaks were all cooked to perfection, all of our party noted that it was probably the best steak we've had. The waiter knew it was our friends Birthday and brought out a cake with a sparkler on for him and then gave us a bonfire with marshmallows on the house! So very kind. Absolutely class restaurant, food and staff. We look forward to receiving our postcards we wrote on to be sent to England that the restaurant provided and posted them on our behalfs, wonderful gesture.

Good quality steaks prepared very well. We dined here twice during our vacation and both visits were very nice. The staff did their best to accommodate a low-sodium order for me which I very much appreciate.

The steak served was blue rare, not medium rare. Medium rare is 130–135°F (54–57°C). This was significantly below that range, with a cold red center and minimal carryover heat. After waiting over 15 minutes for acknowledgment, I was told this is “medium rare in Europe.” Temperature is not regional. It’s measurable. For a restaurant claiming to be among Amsterdam’s best, both execution and service fell short. Avoid if you expect precision.

The price reflects the absolutely high quality of the delicious food/meat offered on the menu. What I would particularly like to mention is the very friendly staff, especially our very helpful and lovely Greek waiter. And since it was Valentine's Day, a Polaroid photo was taken, which we received for free at the end of the evening, along with a very sweet card! Midtown Grill is highly recommended!

Vegetarians beware. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy excellent meat. The different cuts are presented vacuum-sealed so you can get an idea of ​​what you're considering. We opted for the Chateaubriand with an optional sauce. The fries are excellent, and the accompanying wine depends on your preferences. It's not cheap, but it's very good. One small complaint about the space: the tables are close together, and if you're near noisy people, it can spoil your evening.

Unacceptable and Humiliating Service The behavior of the waitress who served us at Midtown Grill was deeply disrespectful and unprofessional. When we politely asked for a paper napkin, she responded in a condescending tone by saying “there are napkins in the restroom”, implying that we should go to the toilet for such a basic request. This was humiliating and completely unacceptable in any restaurant, especially one that claims to offer a high-end dining experience. I immediately reported the incident to the manager. Regardless of food quality, service like this ruins the entire experience. Based on this treatment, I cannot recommend this restaurant and seriously question its service standards.

Extremely Disrespectful and Unacceptable Service We had a very disappointing experience at Midtown Grill due to the attitude of one of the waiters who served us. His behavior was condescending, dismissive, and frankly humiliating. At one point, we politely asked for a paper napkin. Instead of responding professionally, the waiter replied in a sarcastic and demeaning manner, saying that “there are napkins in the restroom”, implying that we should go to the toilet for such a basic request. This was said with an attitude that made us feel openly disrespected as guests. This kind of response is completely unacceptable in any restaurant, let alone one that positions itself as a premium dining experience. Basic courtesy and respect toward guests should be the absolute minimum standard. I immediately raised this issue with the manager, as such behavior damages not only the experience of the guests but also the reputation of the establishment. Unfortunately, the fact that this even happened raises serious concerns about staff training and service culture. A restaurant can have good food, but service like this overshadows everything. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Midtown Grill and would strongly advise management to seriously review their customer service standards.

By far the best steakhouse in Amsterdam. Always seem to have some speciality cut on the menu you seldom see. Stellar service and amazing atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I had small steaks and pure potatoes and chips and a glass of wine 🍷 in person it cost a total of €154 for two people, too expensive and I didn't like the steak at all, it had a lot of fat 🤔 the ​​chips were frozen and the portion was small and the potato was too elastic!!!

Hello, I was eating at the Midtown Grill and had high expectations. Unfortunately, these were not achieved. We had to wait at least 45 minutes for our food. The steaks were either well-done or almost rare, although we ordered medium. We also could not choose the sauce of the salad. Last but not least, we were shown a dessert menu on which half of the dishes were not available. And for all these negative points, we paid a proud price.

The Midtown Grill is located inside the Marriott Amsterdam hotel. I visited here for dinner as part of my birthday celebrations in the city. I do recommend having a reservation, as I was previously turned away here earlier on in my trip, and it can get pretty popular. The interior is large, with interesting artwork and large booths, giving it a premium feel. It is a little pricey, but nothing too extreme considering it is the main restaurant inside a five-star hotel. For allergens, there is a QR code on the regular menu, which leads to their allergen menu. I do think having physical copies of their allergen menu could be useful and perhaps making this clear, especially in regards to cross-contamination, for example the french fries are listed as not containing gluten on the menu, however my server advised me that they were fried in a shared frier, making them not suitable for coeliacs/allergy sufferers - I just feel this should have been clearly stated on their allergen menu. My server was excellent and tried to make my experience as good as possible, as she knew I was in Amsterdam to celebrate my birthday, even offering a Crème brûlée with two large flames at the end of the meal as a dessert. The only thing I didn’t like was before ordering, they gave me what felt like a long sales pitch on the steaks, explaining every one in detail, carrying around a meat cart, while I get this is useful information for those considering steaks, I just felt carrying raw meat in a tray around a restaurant and leaving it in the middle of the dining area was rather strange. I had a long wait for my food, but it was worth the wait. I went for the roast chicken and truffled mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the truffled mashed potatoes were creamy, amazing, and so delicious. My server did guide me to order extra sides, mentioning it probably wouldn’t be enough food if not, so I did order an extra bowl of mashed potatoes, I did find that much of the mashed potatoes to become really rich and overwhelming, I would have liked slightly more chicken, or other vegetables to balance out the dish but the flavours of what was served, were definitley on point. I loved the extra features at the end of my meal, which felt like a spectacle, and something which you’ll remember for a long time, including being able to toast my own marshmallows on a flame and the Crème brûlée. I had a good time here and enjoyed my food and I would for sure return during future trips to Amsterdam.

I had a medium-rare sirloin steak here, and it was just right: juicy, beautifully pink, and full of flavor. The side dishes were simple but well-prepared. The service was attentive and professional. Pricey, but the quality is excellent.

Went for dinner at the weekend, steaks were cooked deliciously. The waiter explained the whole menu in great detail. The price tag is probably average. But the rest of the food was quite average, nothing special, we had caesar. The fries were typical Dutch fries, not French fries(((

Pricey compared to the taste (barely average) and portion of food. The presentation in the beginning was outstanding but when we got the food (tomahawk) it was no way the size presented. Also, we asked the steak to be Medium rare which was poorly cooked and actually served as rare. Such experiences indicate that I will no longer visit or recommend this place

We started with carpaccio and scallops, which both where very good. But for the carpaccio where the meat was already fatty, it was a bit too much mayo. We had a tomahawk for sharing which was very good and came with different sauces. The extras as mashed potato and vegetables are also sharing sizes. The service was fantastic when we first arrived, but as the restaurant started to be full with guests, the service became way slower and more busy.

Nice food and atmosphere! The service was mixed. From one hand, there was a lovely waitress (Maria) who made us feel ‘home’. On the other hand, the middle-aged man who presented us the meat and ordered wine was terrible: He had a passive-aggressive behaviour who made us feel totally unwelcome. We had dinner at Midtown Grill. They first show the various cuts of the meat before you order. Food and Dessert was delicious. Steve our server took really good care of us.

Unfortunately the experience was definitely not worth the price at all: despite reservation, we sit waiting for our order for one hour, without even a piece of bread or butter, just salt and olive oil. This is interesting because the place was not even that full and it was 8pm. Then our steaks arrived, despite specifying our cooking preference they were all rare (even the filet which we asked medium). Finally, I got up and asked for the bill and was sent back to the table to wait another 15-20 min for it. I couldn't take it anymore after that and went to the exit to pay. Poor service, mid meat, poor cooking. Won't visit again. Not suggested unless you are an hotel guest and you have no other place to go.

We stayed at the Amsterdam Marriott for a few days and went around the city looking for good restaurants. Little did we know that there was such a great restaurant right at our hotel!!! We tried it on the last night we were here because of rain but wished we had tried it earlier! Great atmosphere, easy to visit and the food was exceptional! We had the ribeye steak and it was done perfectly, meat quality was very good. Loved the baked potato and vegetable sides. Desert was also very good. Great service from Claudia and chef Dionysus prepared our meals just right! Thank you so much! Don’t wait till a rainy night to try this place, try it now.

The worse mead that I eat in my life . I was thainkg a wagyu japanese and they bring it cold !!! I ask 3 times to make it hot , whitout a positive result. Very disappointing diner !! I relly don’t recommend

Fantastic meat, perfectly grilled and full of flavor. The ribeye was juicy, the empanadas fresh and spicy. A big plus: the wine list featuring South American gems. It's busy and lively, so not the place for a quiet evening, but ideal for a cozy meal with friends.

Five of us went for dinner. We didn't make a reservation. We were treated phenomenally. Attentive and polite. The waiter's name begins with an O, and I can't remember it because I can't repeat it. The grilled chicken and octopus were delicious, along with vegetables and homemade mashed potatoes. Local wine. The decor was beautiful. If you have the opportunity, it's a great place to go as a couple, with family, or with friends.

The only area for improvement was the service: not once were we asked if everything was okay or if we’d like another drink. There were enough staff on the floor, but the waiters were rushing around like headless chickens. A very bad experience. Our group was treated unfairly because we were having a good time and sometimes talked a bit louder, and we were immediately labeled drunk. Which, in reality, wasn't true, as we were only given one beer each and then weren't allowed to order more because of the noise. We received the food, but it wasn't exactly what we ordered! No apology was given for that either; they simply said we ordered it ourselves! All in all, a very poor, unfriendly place!

Poor service, didn't get anything to drink, got different food than ordered, and didn't admit they were wrong! In short, a terrible restaurant!

Terrible service. We waited over 20 minutes and even after complaining, nobody came to take our order. In the end we just decided to leave and still had to pay €8 for a bottle of still water (including a service fee for nothing). Went here for my boyfriends birthday and it was amazing!! First of all the service was amazing, out waiter was so nice and attentive (didn’t get his name). The atmosphere was so lovely there, i got the new york strip steak and my boyfriend got the rib eye, both were so good, my boyfriend said it was one of the best rib eyes he’s had! Since it was my boyfriends birthday they added a sparkler to his desert which was a really nice touch, can’t wait to come back here 😊

I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday after reading many positive reviews, and I was truly impressed. The service was excellent, and all the food was delicious. We chose this place to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and it turned out to be such a wonderful choice. It was a lovely surprise, and my partner was really impressed. We will definitely be coming back again!

Upon arrival by the entrance, it smelled like trash. Maybe this was the hotel’s fault but still not exactly welcoming in a restaurant. Ordered steak and the cod. Steak was good, not the best USDA certified I’ve had but definitely not bad. The Atlantic cod on the other hand was quite flavorless. No salt and the sauce wasn’t helping much. Mac & cheese was okay, also lacking some seasoning. I would say the desserts were better than the main meal itself. The upside was is that we had a very nice and attentive waiter.

great food, awesome chef, terrible and cunning service

After taking seats at our table according to the reservation, a manager asked us to go out as we have brought our Yorshire Terrier with us. It is frustrating that Marriott is a Pet Friendly hotel and their Midtown Grill Retaurant is not! But the biggest disappointment with them is the mail received the second day (attached herewith), where they consider the incident as a big missed steak. For us it was a missed opportunity to celebrate our special occasion. Just business from their side. No emotions, no client orientation. A disgrace.

As usual, the meat was cooked to perfection, side dishes were on point, and so were the drinks. However, we could not help but notice a dramatic decrease in the overall quality of the staff. The lack of profesionalism was beyond acceptable, and nowhere close to what this restaurant had us gotten used to in the past. I'm afraid we will have to stop going there, and move to other venues if this problem is not addressed in the future.
