We had a great meal at Ali's, and at a very good price. Exceptional service. Clean, cozy, and separate from the crowds. Highly recommended.

Very bad quality food. Rubbish menu to match. Let my friend pick a spot. We both just ate the chips and left the rest. Not fresh. But how can shawarma not be fresh, I wonder. Very rarely have I wasted food. But this was not edible therefore forced to leave this review. Owners please do better with the food quality, this level food cannot be served. Forget that we're paying €20+ per person. It's not about the money

A real favorite! The owner, an incredibly kind Egyptian, welcomed us as if we were family. You can tell he loves sharing his culture and his dishes: everything was delicious, fresh, and generous. The atmosphere is warm, and we took the time to chat and laugh between bites. We left with a full stomach and a smile on our faces. A place to treasure!

the owner is so friendly! We ordered three dishes and all were amazing, on top of the free bread, sauce, two sodas, and water that was given to us on the house. The restaurant is also open for 18 hours a day from 1pm to 4am or 5am. it is halal and they don't serve alcohol which is rare to find.

Really enjoyed eating here! The flavors were just right, and every dish felt thoughtfully made, smelled great, looked nice, and tasted amazing in every bite. The owner was friendly and helpful without being pushy, which made the whole meal really relaxing. Easy 5 stars.

Prices are high, falafel is not good. Wants us to pay him Cash, "Banks took to much commission" If there is no receipt no tax paid to Holland government. I feel Türkiye in NL, from an Egyptian.

Stopped by while in Amsterdam and was genuinely impressed. The food is great, prices are reasonable, and the location is super convenient. What really stood out, though, was Baba Ali himself. Incredibly kind and welcoming. He treats with genuine warmth. That kind of hospitality is rare and made the whole experience even better. Would definitely recommend if you're after good (halal) food and friendly vibes.

This restaurant is the definition of consistency. I’ve been coming here for over a year now, and I’ve never had a bad meal. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the quality is always top-tier. The menu isn’t huge, but what they do, they do really well. The pancakes are fluffy and rich, the sandwiches come with crispy fries, and the coffee is strong and smooth. Service is quick, the tables are clean, and they remember regulars by name. That kind of attention to detail makes all the difference. It's my go-to spot for comfort food with great service.

Unfortunately, we were scammed. The owner simply overcharged us, and when we asked why, he just laughed brazenly and made up some ridiculous stories.

Dude was very nice to me! I arrived cause I was craving some kabob and I got myself the mixed plate. It was a big portion and delicious! I ate it all pretty quick! I am Mexican and I approve of this restaurant! Btw to the owner, I am the dude who arrived with suitcases and stuffed animal snakes 🐍

Important!! They charge extra money for bread even when you don’t order that, and after asking he said that it is a rule here, if it’s a rule then you must write it somewhere that it will be charged extra. Very rude behaviour with worst food ever. Would not recommend at all, never going again.

One of the best foods of this kind. I ordered mix grill that included a good quantity of shawarma, kebab and chicken steak with fries. The taste was excellent and the three sauces were so yummy. Highly recommended!

Spicy chicken grill was the bomb! The garlic sauce was very nice, too, dip the freshly cooked bread with it, so yummy! And Papa Ali (I assumed it was him) was so nice and accommodating.

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a bitter disappointment. I absolutely cannot understand the many positive reviews. The food was simply inedible. The chicken was tough and had a rubbery consistency - it even made my child vomit. Both the shawarma and the rice were a total failure in terms of taste. Given the quality of the food, I think the prices are completely overpriced. Not only was it not enjoyable, it was downright annoying. We definitely won't be coming back and can't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Inconspicuous little restaurant or snack bar but always friendly and very helpful. Just walk around the corner away from the expensive tourist shops and get good food for a decent price.

RUN AWAY!!! the positive reviews here can only be fakes. Kebab meat that looks like decomposed minced steak, extremely spicy (well, let's see), industrial bread (taken out of the plastic packaging before our eyes) half stale, raw vegetables to look through and completely faded... Falafels no better. Direct trash except the uncooked fries. And I'm really not picky, traveled a lot and used to eating everything, in markets in India or the Maghreb. There, impossible. Just scandalous, €58 wasted. Because what's more, it's overpriced. I repeat, RUN AWAY!!!!!

I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. I went there hoping to eat a good kebab, but the experience was frankly disappointing. To begin with, the meat served was not at all that of a traditional kebab. Instead of the tender, flavorful meat you expect in this type of dish, I ended up with a completely different meat, the flavor of which was extremely strong and way too spicy. This ruined the entire meal as the spices took over and made the dish unpleasant to eat. In addition, the quantities were really insufficient for the asking price. It is way too expensive for what is offered, and the value for money is completely non-existent. I left the restaurant feeling both frustrated and ripped off. To top it all off, the service did nothing to make up for the experience: no special attention, no explanation of the meat used, nothing. I felt like they weren't even interested in whether customers were happy or not. In summary, this restaurant should be avoided if you are looking for a quality kebab or simply a pleasant experience. There are many other places where you can eat better for much less money.

The most terrible food I have ever eaten!! Catastrophe is not an expression, it is even worse! The chicken 🤮🤮🤮 tasted like rubber! The rice was very dry! I was very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. There was hair in my food, which is simply unacceptable. The dish was unappetizing and the consistency resembled rubber. I really can't recommend this place. A very unpleasant experience!

Papa Ali is for sure a place I would recommend to others. I am sure that many people rather come for dinner than lunch, because the place seemed very empty and not quite as known as I expected. Though by first glance, the one gentleman may seem a bit hard to communicate with, I assure you that he is a lot better than you think! He understood my order very clearly.

Islamic halal steak house. The lamb was delicious and the price was not expensive. However, the interior was a bit old and only cash payments were accepted. I had a good meal with good value for money.😊
