Inconspicuous little restaurant or snack bar but always friendly and very helpful. Just walk around the corner away from the expensive tourist shops and get good food for a decent price.

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a bitter disappointment. I absolutely cannot understand the many positive reviews. The food was simply inedible. The chicken was tough and had a rubbery consistency - it even made my child vomit. Both the shawarma and the rice were a total failure in terms of taste. Given the quality of the food, I think the prices are completely overpriced. Not only was it not enjoyable, it was downright annoying. We definitely won't be coming back and can't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

RUN AWAY!!! the positive reviews here can only be fakes. Kebab meat that looks like decomposed minced steak, extremely spicy (well, let's see), industrial bread (taken out of the plastic packaging before our eyes) half stale, raw vegetables to look through and completely faded... Falafels no better. Direct trash except the uncooked fries. And I'm really not picky, traveled a lot and used to eating everything, in markets in India or the Maghreb. There, impossible. Just scandalous, €58 wasted. Because what's more, it's overpriced. I repeat, RUN AWAY!!!!!

I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. I went there hoping to eat a good kebab, but the experience was frankly disappointing. To begin with, the meat served was not at all that of a traditional kebab. Instead of the tender, flavorful meat you expect in this type of dish, I ended up with a completely different meat, the flavor of which was extremely strong and way too spicy. This ruined the entire meal as the spices took over and made the dish unpleasant to eat. In addition, the quantities were really insufficient for the asking price. It is way too expensive for what is offered, and the value for money is completely non-existent. I left the restaurant feeling both frustrated and ripped off. To top it all off, the service did nothing to make up for the experience: no special attention, no explanation of the meat used, nothing. I felt like they weren't even interested in whether customers were happy or not. In summary, this restaurant should be avoided if you are looking for a quality kebab or simply a pleasant experience. There are many other places where you can eat better for much less money.

The food is great, good flavor and flavor in the food, the service was pleasant and respectful during the stretch, very attentive in case we needed anything. It was a pleasant experience and I would repeat it again.

I have never eaten as badly as in this restaurant 😱 Prices are absolutely not justified, the food was really inedible. From my point of view, I wouldn't even have given it one star 😱 Here they brag about pictures that absolutely don't correspond to what you ordered The boss or whatever that is supposed to be was absolutely not accommodating... In this regard, I even had a hair in my food! The falafel I ate almost made me throw up The ambience 😂😂 leaves a lot to be desired. Restaurant should be cleaned thoroughly. The setup is just horrible 🙄 The only person who was really friendly was the waitress, the young guy... I WILL NEVER ENTER THIS STORE AGAIN

The most terrible food I have ever eaten!! Catastrophe is not an expression, it is even worse! The chicken 🤮🤮🤮 tasted like rubber! The rice was very dry! Fries totally soggy, disgusting 🤮 the prices are so exaggerated! One of the worst meals in Amsterdam! An overall grade of 0! I won't recommend anyone to eat there!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I was very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. There was hair in my food, which is simply unacceptable. The dish was unappetizing and the consistency resembled rubber. I really can't recommend this place. A very unpleasant experience!

Delicious food and a very nice owner.

Papa Ali is for sure a place I would recommend to others. I am sure that many people rather come for dinner than lunch, because the place seemed very empty and not quite as known as I expected. Though by first glance, the one gentleman may seem a bit hard to communicate with, I assure you that he is a lot better than you think! He understood my order very clearly.

Islamic halal steak house. The lamb was delicious and the price was not expensive. However, the interior was a bit old and only cash payments were accepted. I had a good meal with good value for money.😊

Decent food, good location, place could use some renovation

The food was great, freshly prepared by the owner, the menu is small but nice. The restaurant looks a bit ugly from the outside, but you shouldn't let that blind you because the food is great and the service is very courteous. Also reasonably priced for Amsterdam conditions.

I had the pleasure of visiting Papa Ali Steakhouse when I was searching for Halal place to eat in Amserdam. By now, I had already tried out a few Halal places already but I was not very satisfied. However, Papa Ali surprised me with the taste of his food. I tried a variety of beef and chicken meal from there(Shawarma, Shawarma with Rice, Chicken Steak). I absolutely loved it and so did I family. I will be happy to come to Papa Ali when I am back in Amserdam again. Ali is quite a kind and generous person. I loved my time speaking to him while the food was getting ready. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for Halal and tasty food in Amsterdam.

Great restaurant near the station. The owner cooks really well and he's very kind. I asked for a variation of my dish and he understood perfectly my needs. Not expensive. The owner sets the table with hot bread and sauces. When I come back to Amsterdam I' m gonna have dinner there for sure. I recommend it.

We went to this restaurant because we found it on Google. The food was amazing, cheap, and Halal! We got our food in less than 10 minutes (and it was a lot), and the steak was juicy and delicious. The owner is a really nice man who runs the restaurant with his son. If you ever want to eat REALLY good Halal steak, you should definitely check out this restaurant. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Pleasant place to eat. When I heard steakhouse I thought of great steaks, maybe entrecote, but actually steak means chicken steak, i.e. chicken breast fillet. I ordered the Spicy Chicken which tasted good Colleague had shawarma meat with fries. Tasted a bit strongly of cumin but ok. Barak Allahu feek

Salam. Just poped in randomly, was welcomed by person on the reception. Immediately i was served with 3 sauces and 2 breads, that's part of every order. Generous. Just before my order arrived i ate a bread with sauce and that was enough to feed me. My main course arrived with in 10 to 15 minutes, I ate half of it, and requested rest to be packed. The person at the reception was kind enough to have it oacked and provided two additional big sauces. The food was delicious and worth the money. Higley recommended.

Lovely little Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food restaurant not far from Central Train Station. Food was excellent and owner was very responsive to requests. Complimentary pita bread and dips were provided & appreciated. We had the Lamb Shawarma and Spicy Chicken and both were delicious!
