A great spot for a tasty lunch. No culinary high-flyers, just excellent. We had the house special (flatfish with black pasta and vegetables). Fries had to be ordered separately. Everything was delicious. Could have used a little less butter under the fish. Desserts were delicious but the selection was a bit limited. All in all, a good price. We were very satisfied.

What a beautiful little café! The atmosphere was quiet and intimate, perfect for a moment to yourself. The coffee was exceptionally good and clearly made with care. I had a slice of lemon tart with it, which tasted light and refreshing. The service was friendly and offered helpful suggestions. The interior was filled with plants, creating a natural and relaxing atmosphere. It almost felt like I was in a little oasis in the middle of the city. I appreciated the soothing background music and the fact that I could read undisturbed. It's a place I'll definitely return to again.

We discovered this restaurant by chance three years ago, near the Spa Wellness Hotel, and we returned for dinner with great pleasure. Just like the first time, we were charmed by the warm and friendly atmosphere. The dishes are delicious and beautifully presented, and the servers are incredibly kind—truly wow! The cozy setting gives the impression of dining with family, with a cheerful and lively background music. An address we wholeheartedly recommend and where we will definitely return on our next trip to Amsterdam.

Great place! First of all, the staff was incredibly friendly and genuine. We were a little skeptical because of some reviews (that there was too much vegetarian and fish on the menu). This is completely untrue. Whether you're a carnivore, vegetarian, or fish lover, you can have a wonderful meal here. It's definitely not your typical meal; there's a real chef in the kitchen who creates a beautiful meal, and delicious too. The atmosphere was great, and the price was very reasonable for people who don't live in the Zuidas area! 🤓 Highly recommended.

The food is very tasty and the presentation of dishes is exquisite. They do not skimp on quality products. Many people in the evening, it is advisable to book in advance.

We had high tea. The quality was adequate, but the presentation was simply awful. The service was also slow, which detracted somewhat from the atmosphere.

I thought: this is going to be another one of those nights where you'll need more patience than a Buddhist monk with ADHD. But no... BAM, everything went smoothly. Order in, food out, as if the kitchen is running on Red Bull. And delicious too, truly ridiculously delicious. The service? So friendly that I thought for a moment: these must be escaped Disney cast members working undercover here. A smile, and I instantly forgot all my childhood traumas. In short: De Veranda isn't a restaurant; it's therapy with a menu. You leave with a full belly and the feeling that the world still makes sense somehow. And that's dangerous... because now I expect this everywhere.

So good! The pasta with the mussels and the Thai chicken was to die for! Atmosphere is also super great and the service is nice, I can totally recommend this place!

We dine out less often because, since we started buying ethically sourced meat directly from the farmer, we're often disappointed and find that we eat better at home with authentic recipes. At De Veranda, we were pleasantly surprised, just like in the old days! Deliciously balanced dishes, without overwhelming flavors, but with subtle discoveries. And all at great prices, without hyperinflation, in a relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic!

I went to De Veranda Amstelveen with a friend, and we had a fantastic evening. We had made a reservation and were immediately greeted warmly. The service was attentive, and the food and drinks arrived quickly. We opted for the two-course menu, which was truly delicious – I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend thought the presentation could have been a bit more elegant, but for us, that didn't detract from the taste or the experience at all. The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and cozy. A nice detail: the receipt even had a personal note from the server on it, something I'd never seen before. A truly original touch that made it extra special. In short, highly recommended! I'll definitely be back.

A truly beautiful restaurant in a lovely location. The staff is very friendly, but you do need to be patient. We didn't have the tastiest dish on the lunch menu (our own fault, apparently), but the side dishes were excellent. And the food on other people's plates smelled and looked delicious.

We visited here twice , the environment is good. But the food itself is way too overpriced … the first time here, the spaghetti is so soft like noodle, And this time, the steak cost 3x euro , however, the one you bought from supermarket is way better quality than this one, I ordered medium rare, which is for surly not medium rare ….. but yes, their starter is good, but main course is way too bad sadly

Early lunch appointment at 11:00. We were seated on the front patio; the back patio wasn't open yet. Service was spotty, but the food was okay. The place feels a bit worn; our sofa cushion was completely torn. And that Pepsi instead of Coca-Cola is always a disappointment.

Two of us came here without a reservation and got a table right away. The service was friendly, but could have been more attentive. The food was delicious, although the variety of flavors on the plate sometimes took a bit of getting used to. All in all, though, it's a good restaurant.

Lovely terrace, friendly service. A bit pricey, though. But people: at 2025, only one vegetarian option per course (and both starters and mains with eggplant, so if you don't eat that, you're really out of luck) is truly embarrassing.

A really nice terrace to have drinks on a warm evening. If you’re lucky you’ll get one of the booths facing the water. But regardless, it’s a big terrace with plenty of space between tables.

Arrived on time with a reservation. Asked to sit outside until a table was free (I did have a reservation, right?), and then after an hour asked if something was wrong to be told that they had forgotten us and could not apologize for it. Very unpleasant.

The veranda! Nice place! Friendly staff. The two of us had dinner. But we quickly noticed that the staff was a bit unprofessional. We think that maybe a manager was missing that evening. The girls were everywhere, from singing and dancing on the terrace to shouting and laughing through the microphones in the ears. Don't get me wrong, fun is part of it. But this was too much, which made the service really considerably less and you felt the discomfort. Ordered tartare, this kram brown, they solved this well by serving a new one. The food was otherwise a big fine.

A very gourmet lunch indeed! Plenty of space on great outdoor seating, friendly staff, helpful and kind. Though the menu was hard to interpret for me it was a great culinary experience for me and my partner. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special treat.

Today, I had one of the worst experiences at a restaurant. While the place itself is visually appealing and well-decorated, the service and treatment we received completely ruined the experience. To start, we waited 30 minutes just to receive our drinks. For the main course, we ordered fish, but instead, we were served a piece of undercooked beef—not even a proper steak, just a chunk of meat. This arrived nearly two hours after we placed our order. By that point, we were extremely hungry and felt we had no choice but to try it. I ended up ordering fries just to have something to eat. Throughout the entire visit, the service was painfully slow. We had to repeat our requests multiple times before anyone responded. The waitress, visibly frustrated, brought the dessert and threw it on the table, along with the spoon. It was rude and made us feel completely unwelcome and uncomfortable.

One of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. While delays in food service can be understandable,especially during busy times, this was not the case here. Despite the restaurant not being full, we waited over 1.5 hours for our food. When we politely inquired about the delay, the waitress reacted with frustration and anger, which was surprising . Things escalated when she aggressively dropped our dessert on the table, tossed the spoons, and returned just 10 minutes later with the bill, without us requesting it. When we mentioned that we hadn’t asked for the bill, she curtly responded, “We’re closing, so you need to get out.” We asked to speak to a manager, but she claimed to be the supervisor. When we attempted to explain our concerns about the long wait time, poor service, and general attitude, she remained rude and dismissive. To top it all off, I’ve attached a photo of a 33€ salad that was served without any dressing, just another example of the poor attention to detail. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

Tonight we experienced the worst service at a restaurant, that I have ever seen in my life. A young girl, that called herself “the supervisor” was extremely rude and arrogant. She brought the check even without asking for it asking us to leave because it’s closing hours. We waited on a warm day (30 degrees) for 30 minutes for the drinks in the beginning. They didn’t even asked if they could bring water at the table. We waited for everything just ridiculously long. We literally had bread with butter after 45 minutes of waiting and the main course after 1 hour and 45 minutes. She brought the dessert and literally threw it on the table together with the spoons, obviously irritated that we dared to ask for the desserts already. I mean we needed to leave, but they failed to bring the food on time. When we said we wanted to speak to the manager she got annoyed and told us to “get out”. I have no words to describe the attitude, but definitely it’s going to be my last time at this restaurant and for anyone reading this, do yourself a favour and find another nice truly decent restaurant. I’ve came here plenty of times since I live in the neighbourhood, but never again, the service and food worsened and it’s just not worth it anymore.

Lovely terrace. Food is good. The burger looked very bare so I went for the asparagus. The thin ones were cooked a bit too long but the thick ones were fine. And delicious smoked salmon.

The location is great with a lovely terrace facing the water and the forest, the staff was pretty friendly but also somewhat overwhelmed and forgot some things here and there, the food was pretty disappointing, the menu is pretty sad and very Dutch and the execution also wasn't great.

After a walk in the Amsterdam forest I wanted to have lunch in the Veranda. I was welcome with the dog, it was promised that a bowl of water would be put down for the dog. However, this did not happen. The staff knew that I was alone, this was specifically requested upon arrival. Nevertheless, two lunch menus were placed on the table, one for me and one at the chair opposite me. After I had received my coffee and had looked at the lunch menu, no one came to my table again. And that while there were plenty of staff walking around. I had to watch twice how four men at a table were asked if everything was to their liking, they ordered extra wine and received this as well. The couple opposite me was also asked during their lunch if everything was to their liking, but no one came to take my order. So I paid at the entrance of the restaurant and left with an empty stomach.....

Went for lunch, had tacos - delicious and fast.

This place is absolutely amazing! Exactly what you need after a long day of walking/hiking. I really love the atmosphere in the place, as well as the view on water 😍 Such a cozy restaurant with an amazing terrace outside, delicious food, nice and polite personnel 😇 The only thing is that sometimes you have to wait for a waiter/waitress to come to you even when it's not too busy, but generally I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone! The first time I was there with my husband and our dog after a nice stroll in the Amsterdam Forest, and it's amazing that they're animal friendly! 😍 And recently I was there with the guests of the city from Poland, and they were absolutely delighted with their dinner and thanked me a lot for the choice of the restaurant. Thank you for the great service! 😇🙏🏼

Nice and cozy restaurant in Amstelveen that we visited 2 times during our stay in Amsterdam. Some dishes were a bit expensive unfortunately. The best course was the Seabass with tagligatelle (homemade) with amboise sauce... the only minus was that the fish was on the smallest side 🐟😇 Otherwise, delicious. The service was quite ok.

Next weekend I will be going there as a guest. I'm curious what my experience will be. I will give an update after the weekend. *update* Went on Saturday April 12 and received a very warm welcome. We had a table of 3 and we were politely escorted to our table. We had to wait for one more person from our party, but there was also a lot of understanding for that. We were served by an Indian lady and she was super helpful and friendly. Sorry I didn't remember her name. We were sitting in the sun, but at one point it really bothered us and we asked if we could have a table in the shade and we were given a table in the shade without any hassle. We were served by, I believe her name was Cora, and had a great laugh. The two ladies serving and of course the gentlemen who served the food and drinks afterwards were extremely friendly. All in all, great service and a fantastic place to pamper your inner self. A few points for improvement: The desert, hazelnut pastry, actually did not have much flavor (our female companion's experience) and the chocolate milk would have been tastier if it had been served with warm milk instead of water. (hence the 3 stars in the review). Nevertheless, a great experience and I definitely recommend De Veranda to pamper your inner self, the surroundings and not to forget the hospitality. Thank you for the fantastic afternoon!

Always a beautiful location, just outside the hustle and bustle of the big city and if you want to combine it with a walk along the forest path, that is possible. A small point of interest this time was that 1 slice of bread for a Brisket sandwich with toppings for lunch was a bit meager, although the dish tasted very tasty.

I had informed in advance (by telephone and by email) what I was not allowed to eat. This was not discussed at all and was not taken into account. There were 3 people at our table who ate vegetarian/vegan. With great difficulty, these people received another menu with more options. If you have no dietary requirements you will probably have a good meal here, otherwise I would choose another restaurant

Excellent acoustics, strangely small cutlery and also small wine glasses (even the red Malbec at 8.50 is served in a small white wine glass and that is a shame for such a nice wine. The coffee comes from a machine at the push of a button and you can taste that too. I found the "regular coffee" quite weak and my colleague's cappuccino did not resemble a cappuccino. The tataki was delicious but unfortunately very cold. Elsewhere this dish is served at room temperature which brings out the flavor more. The fries were tasty, the mayonnaise less so. The girl who served us was as she should be: friendly and attentive.

3 mistakes were made when serving the ordered drinks... it was quiet, so pay attention. Food was fine. Many chairs have a broken seat. These are already available for sale at wholesalers. Not correct for a restaurant.

USA steak was really fantastic! In addition, we were both very pleased with hostess Shirley, who entertained us and gave us advice.

It was a nice shop where the staff were always attentive. During weekday lunch time, about 80% of the seats were occupied. There is a sign at the end of the entrance for the restroom, then go downstairs. There were 4-5 pieces and it was clean. Next time, I would like to sit on the terrace and have lunch while chatting on a sunny day.

The food was delicious. There were problems with the service. Firstly, we were directed to a high table&chair although we said we had a reservation for dinner. I had to make it clear that we won’t have dinner at high chairs before we could sit at the table we have reserved and already prepared for us (3 chairs). Moreover, the plates were dirty with blood-like stains. We had to remind things after waiting for 20min. It’s a pity that the service takes the place down.

Afgelopen november heb ik bij de Veranda gedineerd. Terwijl ik aan tafel zat is er door de bediening vlees jus op mijn manteljas gemorst tijdens het opdienen van het hoofdgerecht. Er werd aangeboden om de stomerij kosten te betalen en als dat niet zou werken, daarna verder te kijken. Het stomen heeft de vlekken niet verwijderd en mijn manteljas is helaas niet meer draagbaar. Vandaar dat ik contact heb opgenomen met de Veranda om samen tot een oplossing te komen. Als reactie bood de vestigingsmanager een tegoedbon voor dineren bij de Veranda à 25 Euro (later verhoogd naar 50). Dit lost uiteraard het probleem niet op dat mijn jas niet meer draagbaar is en vandaar dat ik het restaurant heb verzocht om hun aansprakelijkheidsverzekering in te schakelen. Een logische stap als je schade toebrengt aan andermans eigendom en een eenvoudige manier om tot een onafhankelijke waardebepaling van de schade te komen. Inmiddels heb ik meerdere herinneringsmails gestuurd, maar het restaurant laat niets meer van zich horen. Dit alles heeft een zeer negatieve nasmaak achtergelaten van een avond die begon met een nette jas en eindigde met een jas die niet meer draagbaar is. Met als kers op de taart dat ik uiteindelijk ook gewoon zelf de stomerij kosten heb betaald. Al met al zeer een onprofessionele manier van handelen. En iets wat ik niet verwacht had van de Veranda.

Last November I had dinner at the Veranda. While I was sitting at the table, the waiter spilled meat gravy on my coat while serving the main course. It was offered to pay the dry cleaning costs and if that didn't work, then to look further. Dry cleaning did not remove the stains and my coat is unfortunately no longer wearable. That is why I contacted De Veranda to find a solution together. In response, the branch manager offered a voucher for dining at the Veranda for 25 Euro (later increased to 50). This obviously does not solve the problem that my jacket is no longer wearable and that is why I have requested the restaurant to take out their liability insurance. A logical step if you cause damage to someone else's property and a simple way to arrive at an independent valuation of the damage. I have now sent several reminder emails, but the restaurant has not responded again. All this has left a very negative aftertaste of an evening that started with a nice coat and ended with a coat that is no longer wearable. The icing on the cake is that I ended up paying the dry cleaning costs myself. All in all, a very unprofessional way of acting. And something I didn't expect from the Veranda.

Heerlijk gegeten. We werden aan een hoge tafel geplaatst zonder dat de keus werd gegeven tussen hoog en laag in het reserveringssysteem. Voor alles wordt geld gevraagd, broodje vooraf, water. Vriendelijke bediening.

Friendly personnel. For vegetarians/vegans very limited options. Wanted a salad from appetizers as main dish, waitress suggested doubling it- great idea! Only, ended up with a salad consisting of, I swear, at least a whole can of chickpeas with little else, FOR 30€!!! No thanks!

Staying as a couple in Amsterdam. We discovered this restaurant completely by chance. Great discovery!!! We ate very well there and the setting was really nice. The meat cooked perfectly and perfectly tender. Very friendly staff. I recommend this restaurant!!!
