Highly, highly recommend! We have been to three different Indian restaurants around Amsterdam since we arrived and this was by far the best. We had masala dosa, saag paneer and onion baji and all were perfect. The dosas are a very big serving size. Excellent service and lovely restaurant setting - we will definitely be back.

Best Indian restuarant in Amsterdam. I visited when it was busy and yet the service was top notch. The staff went extra mile to keep its customers satisfied. I have been here twice and the food was unparallel absolutely authentic taste. Cheers team and keep up the great work. This place is so peaceful and inviting! Our server carefully answered all our allergy-related questions. We ordered two dishes and a side of garlic naan. Everything was delicious, and the portions/prices were fair.

Ordered the Butter Chicken which was very good. My son ordered Lamb Rogan Josh which he also really enjoyed. Topped it off with Cheese Naan and a bottle of water. Bill came to about 54 Euros. Close to Marriott where we’re staying. Would definitely return.

Butter chicken & naan were fantastic, very close to a lot of the hotels in the area.

They accepted my order on UberEats, sent updates about the order being processed for ~50 minutes, then when I called them was told that they had been closed for 90 minutes. “Sorry man,” was the only response I was given. Even now, it shows “wrapping up.” This is another example of an Amsterdam restaurant extending their public hours so that they can decide whether to stay open later or close early based on business traffic. I wouldn’t trust them with your order.

Even though the restaurant is named Dosa South Indian, I think it best suits for North Indian dishes. I ordered ButterChicken and Mango Lassi and it was just nice. Not many people around the time (6.23-7.00pm) I went there, but probably I was bit too early.

The food is high quality, and the waiters are friendly. Our family would highly recommend coming to this restaurant!

Great Indian food at reasonable price.

As a south indian who eats dosa for breakfast regularly, let me tell you that everything about the masala dosa is imitation. Masala, coconut chutney and tomato chutney do not come even close to what I eat back in South India. Sambhar tasted like gujarati version. Service was poor. I kept hearing cahier asking paaji to ready dosa multiple times. And the cashier was busy chatting the couple who arrived before me while I was patiently signalling him from the counter I wanted to pay. He asked me to wait. After 5 minutes, I had to loudly inform him I have a tram to catch to make him stop chatting and collect my bill. The one thing good was chai. Also ambience is excellent.

Unexpectedly had dinner here for the first time on a Sunday evening. Very surprised by the very tasty and authentic south Indian food: dosas and coconut chutney were delicious. Best South Indian restaurant I know in the Netherlands, highly recommended!

Our server had a good sense of humor and was very hospitable to our taste preferences. Service was very quick and accurate and the food was delicious and authentic. Would go back again if I had a craving for Indian!

Took over an hour and 20 minutes (said 20-40) for some cold , not appetizing or tasty food. Poor communication and took way too long.

We had dinner here the other night after we arrived in Amsterdam a little late. It was just around the corner from our accomodation and we were keen for some Indian food. The atmosphere was lovely and the waiter was delightful! The food was amazing and had so much depth of flavour.

The interior is ok and clean. The food and service are also quite average. If you are around there and feel like Indian food, it is an ok place to eat, but this can’t be a restaurant you pick for trying Indian food; you’ll be disappointed. Seeing the service in the restaurant, it feels like they opened the restaurant yesterday and they are unprepared, but they have been there for years apparently. There is no specific person taking your orders, so the service you get is quite random and inconsistent. I had lamb tikka masala; lamb pieces were very hard and chewy. My partner had lamb sag, which had more tender lam pieces. The plain naan was very good. Mango lasi was too sweet and the dahl soup was so bland.

They do not welcome large dogs! Only small dogs are allowed! We were first told to hide our dog in the corner and then were told that QUOTE “everyone is complaining about your dog”, while my dog is a well trained and well behaved friendly golden retriever, who didn’t bother other customers at all! And we reserved in advance telling them that we are bring a dog. Your customer service and communication is HORRIBLE!

We ordered Dosa and to our disappointed got a dry Dosa, hard to chew and gulp. 1 Dosa was little burnt also. Sambhar and chutney were good in taste, making the food eatable. We also packed roti, sabji, dal for dinner. Strangely, we found naans packed and ended up eating it, only to find that another foil had rotis packed. They packed double with naans and rotis in different foils. Worst part is we ended up wasting rotis what we wanted to eat.

Service was quick, atmosphere is ok, food is extra watery with the dosa- why, for this high price? You can eat cheaper and way better in the Center, which makes no sense. Dosa in the Center was about 9-12€, and you had many sauces and dips and even a starter with it, here the lentil curry was thinned out with water and so spicy, the dosa was also way too thin- we were so disappointed.

If you are looking for a good Indian restaurant in Amsterdam, Dosa South & North Indian Restaurant is an interesting address. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service very friendly. During my visit, however, there was a small mistake in the order, and I found the butter chicken to be a little lacking in flavor. Despite this, the overall experience was positive, especially due to the warm welcome and atmosphere of the place. I would rate it 4/5. For those who want to experience authentic South and North Indian dishes, this is still a place to try.

Ordered a masala dosa, but received a dosa with rotten potatoes and got food poisoned. Not recommended.

No doubt the food was good but the owner was very arrogant and rude! The old female who is running the restaurant had the audacity to misbehave with the customers and was ill mannered! Other staff members were helpful but this old lady spoils the atmosphere of the place!

I don’t spend time on writing reviews often but when I do it’s because I think they absolutely deserve it (one way or another). Dosa is by far my number one Indian restaurant here in Amsterdam. And a pleasant go-to when we feel like having a comfy night with good food. Actually this has become one of the only restaurants I order add since when making the final call deciding on the restaurant, Dosa always wins! I myself am vegan and found that most Indian restaurants serve a rather dry vegan naan. But not Dosa! I practically always order vegan saag paneer (saag tofu) and the flavors and spices in this dish are so well put together! I also tried out the other vegan meals which are all great. I just really love the saag the most. My partner is not vegan btw so on her behalf I can tell you that it’s not just a gem for vegans. Staff always have been very polite and helpful. So yeah, definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ recommendation for this awesome restaurant!

We loved this restaurant, the food was so delicious and the staff were really friendly. There's lots of options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike, and the prices are reasonable.
