Dutch/ French Food ‘Stuivertje’. in Jordaan

The most amazing dining experience I’ve had in a long time! I came here with my mam and dad, they came over from Ireland to visit me. I live nearby and have seen through the windows that the atmosphere seemed fun yet proper, and the smell from the restaurant was mouth watering. The staff were brilliant, really knowledgeable of the dishes and wines hey served and very passionate. Could also have a good laugh, we felt very comfortable, welcomed and taken care of. Didn’t get great photos as I was just having a really lovely time and forgot to :)

It was an amazing experience with the food. The quiche is to die for❤️ In the main course we had fish and chicken and man it was amazing.

Shame! Really a shame. Food was somewhat okay, but no cold wine, beer or soft drinks. No ice (cubes). Service very impersonal and arrogant. Never come here again

The place is basic and the waiter was arrogant. It's his place and not taking into account the needs of the people. Basic element like ice he didn't have..... How do you not have ice in 2025...its embarrassing to say the least. The food was salty, at least the lamb which I had was tooooo salty... Seriously if you want a restaurant which has a good rating, you need to live up to it. The food for everyone at our table was below 5/10 Get some ICE!!!!!! And there is no espresso.. Again a basic and simple product which isn't available here... Come here if you want to be disappointed by an ego senrtic waiter. We are not asking for the world, but basics... For the rest it's okay.

Only issue, Reserved a table using the website, still had to wait for ~30 mins to get the table. But once we had the table, we had some amazing wine, delicious gambas, unreal beef ribs & and of the best duck that I’ve ever had. Rasheed, with his charming service & attention to detail, adds a very positive energy to the cozy vibes. Would come again for sure.

Restaurant to avoid: you are kicked out 45' after arriving if you book via The Fork

Very bad experience with this restaurant. Booked a month ago for Valentine's Day as I knew it would be a busy day. On February 11, I received another reminder about the reservation and on February 13 at 7:46 PM I suddenly received an email that my reservation had been canceled without any reason. Called the restaurant today and was given 'we have 70 bookings' as the reason. After I said that it is not normal to cancel a reservation 24 hours in advance on a public holiday, I was told that 'a guest like you (me) is not welcome' and they did not want me in the restaurant. As a restaurant you should keep track of your bookings. I will never come back here and certainly won't recommend it. Good luck to everyone who does go to this restaurant.

Restaurant ‘t Stuivertje in Amsterdam is een waar juweeltje voor liefhebbers van de Franse keuken. Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen, werden we verwelkomd door een warme en uitnodigende sfeer. De inrichting is charmant en doet denken aan een typisch Frans bistro, wat bijdraagt aan de authentieke ervaring. De bediening was uiterst vriendelijk en attent. De eigenaar nam de tijd om ons alles uit te leggen over de gerechten op het menu, wat we erg op prijs stelden. Het was duidelijk dat hij gepassioneerd is over zijn vak en dat hij met liefde en zorg de gerechten samenstelt. Wat betreft het eten, dat was werkelijk voortreffelijk. Elk gerecht was een smaaksensatie, perfect bereid en prachtig gepresenteerd. We hebben genoten van de verfijnde smaken en de verse ingrediënten. Kortom, we hebben heerlijk gegeten en een geweldige avond gehad. ‘t Stuivertje is een aanrader voor iedereen die wil genieten van een authentieke Franse culinaire ervaring in Amsterdam!

40 years ago I took my girlfriend here. We have been divorced for 22 years but still friends. Ate here yesterday and regret that we only returned after 40 years. (H)Honest dishes of un-Amsterdam quality! Stripped of all the pretentious nonsense that Amsterdam restaurants like to show off. The host putting on a playlist from 40 years ago made the evening complete. We immediately booked for our next party.

What a hidden gem! In such a great neighbourhood and the vibe is just perfect. We were the only ones in there and had all the attention, the food was spectacular and the sauces that came along were amazing. All the dishes we had were so delicious. Would love to come back to try more!

I recently had the pleasure of eating at Stuivertje in Amsterdam, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. I first heard of this restaurant from a fantastic blog called, "Tales, Tastes, and Travels," whose rave review honestly understated the quality of this restaurant. When we arrived at Stuivertje, our family was immediately welcomed by the staff and escorted to our tables. We enjoyed the escargot as an appetizer which was tasteful and prepared our pallets for the main course we were about to receive. Each dish was wonderfully plated and sooo delectable. We all dug into our food and greedly stole what everybody else had. Overall, I was so thankful to have heard about this restaurant from "Tales, Tastes, and Travels" and will visit both Stuivertje and the blog many more times in the future.

The service is absolutely professional. Totally calm and yet always there. That's the way it has to be. The dishes were all beyond reproach. Very complex in taste, perfectly salted and cooked to perfection. The composition was appealing. The wine list offers a great variety. The prices are absolutely right. We recommend. The cuisine is more on the French side than Dutch. Maybe it's good to know.

This was some of the best food I have ever had. The owner was friendly, and helpful. Everything we had, I would order again. If I could, I would visit every day of my trip. My favorite was the Texel lamb shank, and the raspberry/chocolate tart. I would travel back to Europe just for this food.

It was an absolute pleasure to eat here!! The food itself was outstanding, and very reasonably priced for the high quality - we got the escargot, duck, lamb, fish, chocolate tartlet, cheese board, and a couple glasses of wine, and it was all delicious. Somehow even more enjoyable was the service - the owner/server was kind and friendly, and we chatted with him throughout the meal and enjoyed learning about the neighborhood (and wine pairings) from a local. Overall an amazing experience that I would love to return to next time I'm in town!!!

A very charming restaurant in the heart of the Jordaan district which offers local and French cuisine. I had a great time there with my companion, the manager is very friendly, takes the time to answer questions whether for wine recommendations or questions about food intolerance. I found the meal honestly delicious for a more than reasonable price. I look forward to going back there when I come back to Amsterdam!

I was very satisfied with both the service, the atmosphere and the dishes. The meal was excellent, I recommend the snails as a starter as well as the lamb for the main course. I also enjoyed the wines that were offered to us. The host, in addition to his great sympathy, will be able to tell you beautiful, warm and exciting anecdotes during your time. if you wish it. We paired our meal with some excellent wine, which complemented the flavors perfectly. The service was outstanding—very friendly and attentive. The owner, who also a chef, personally shared engaging stories about his culinary journey and the restaurant’s history. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect place for a memorable meal. Highly recommended for anyone seeking exceptional cuisine and outstanding hospitality. 5 stars!

This is a very great find! The man who works there is the nicest owner I’ve ever come across and a super host. Very kind, funny, and sweet. The food was great as well. Would recommend the escargot and lamb shank. The wines are swell as well.

I used to own a bookshop on the corner of Lauriergracht and spent many evenings dining at Stiverjie, which I absolutely loved. Fast forward to recently when I wanted to treat my boyfriend to a dinner with a budget of €150 for two. I was really looking forward to it and booked a few days in advance. Unfortunately, the experience was a disappointment. We were greeted by the chef/owner, who did not have a proper table for us but instead seated us at a large reading table for 8. I understand that mistakes happen, but his attitude was the problem. He talked down to us as if it was our fault. If he had simply apologized, it would have been fine. What a shame.

My partner and I just returned from our first trip to Amsterdam. We were staying at a local Airbnb. We were hungry, but lazy--we didn't want to go too far that first night, so we just started walking. We headed down an alleyway and discovered het Stuivertje and decided to take a chance. So glad we did! We were there early, so basically had the place to ourselves, but we were in good hands with Rashid, who is a combination host/server/entertainer. Nonstop stories for the next 90 minutes. VERY entertaining guy, who made the evening even more memorable. The wine was excellent and the food was equally impressive. Thanks, Rashid, for getting our vacation off to such a great start!

Booked this restaurant as it was close to our hotel, what a fantastic find it was, we were given a warm welcome on arrival and through out the meal the waiter was very attentive, the food was excellent and so was the wine the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and I don't hesitate to recommend it.

Very cozy restaurant. The man who served us was very friendly and sweet. He made a lot of jokes with our table and made the experience very memorable. The food was delicious. I started with the quiche, entree was the angus short rib, and had a brownie for desert. My mom had the scallops, duck, and lemon tart. We loved it, perfect for our last meal in Amsterdam! I recommend it highly.

Amazing food…but service is a bit overbearing. I’d come back for the food for sure…exceptional…but would love a more relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the food and the evening. Was barely given a moment to look through the menu when we got there…which was a pity as it all felt too rushed. Luckily the food made up for it. As a person who enjoys dining out…I love the ordering process and the experience of enjoying a new restaurant. Did not have the chance for that here unfortunately.

A restaurant where all the attention is focused on the food and drinks and less on the appearance. This is an absolute must. The menu is limited, but that means you know that what's on it has to be good and so it turned out. We enjoyed escargot, scallops, duck and short rib. According to my girlfriend, the wine was also very tasty so we will definitely come back again.

Ok, it looks very normal, you could say it's a bit fancy, but the host is certainly someone who knows how things should be done, great, there isn't that much of that these days. The menu is not very extensive, but the food was really good, no bells and whistles, just very good and everything freshly prepared, chapeau. The wine was also fine, not a huge choice but it matched the dishes. And then the price is super nice and very affordable. Recommended

Very tasty meal. The spring chicken was extremely soft and you could suck it off the leg. The sauces were very tasty. They used the sauces and garnishes for multiple dishes, so the only difference between the dishes was the meat or fish.

The reviews here are great, but my experience definitely wasn't 5/5. The server was a bit overbearing and the food, while good, wasn't quite worth the 280 euros (for four people with tip) I spent. Two of the people were even given bread, but the other two of us weren't and I didn't bother asking. Nearly 300 euros and I'm not even offered a piece of bread? Maybe the place was just having a bad night.

Visited during the Restaurant Week and it was a blast! Balanced dishes, the freshest ingredients, and super friendly owner. I cannot explain how I enjoyed the meal but I’m looking forward to go there again.

Wow, wat een ontdekking is dit pareltje in de Jordaan. De gastheer Rachid brengt naast het heerlijke eten ook gezelligheid, mooie verhalen en veel Amsterdamse humor. Je voelt je thuis en koninklijk tegelijk. Het eten is met veel zorg en aandacht bereid. Ook de wijnen zijn goed. Wij komen zeker terug

The lamb shank was the best meal I have had on my trip to Amsterdam. If you are looking for wine and great food, I highly recommend trying here.
