Very annoying; there was a waitress who was gossiping and swearing at customers who weren't satisfied with her. We were there early in the afternoon, and she had already had three different alcoholic drinks. She was sitting right on top of the bar, interfering in everything. No, not a nice woman, and not fun to hear her complaining.

Cute Restaurant in the middle of the city. Friendly and fast staff. The food was beautifully plated and tasted just as good. You can sit outside in the sun.

It has a great, very local atmosphere.

Nice breakfast spot near the main museums. The combo is just the right amount for a full day of walking and learning.

Nice place to find respite between sites

We visited the shop with a group of four for afternoon coffee. The service was nice, the girl alone was struggling to serve all the tables, but she was very polite with us. The coffees were not particularly tasty and on the tray, which I assume was used by many people, the cookies that accompanied our drinks were lying naked, which did not make a good impression on me at all.

Lovely place to feel the spirit of the city sitting next to the road. Tomato soup was lovely and cheese. Quick service Minuses: quite expensive and a lot of people smoke around you

Location and hot chocolate – excellent! Unfortunately, the table wasn't cleared of crumbs and milk left by the previous diners before we arrived, nor even after we'd been seated for a while. We ended up wiping it ourselves with a tissue. The slice of cheesecake was also far too expensive at €6.50 for its size.

A cool, atmospheric pub. Late '80s/'90s style. It was nice to hang out. A bit cramped. Overall, it was okay.

We were here 30 years ago and wanted to relive the memories. We succeeded; we felt very comfortable. The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and efficient. We highly recommend this restaurant.

The service is a disaster. Neither attentive nor friendly, etc. You wait forever just to order. The organization is appalling. It starts with the fact that when the ordered coffee arrives, no one asks if you'd like food; instead, they chat or stare into space. We waited ages. The food was nothing special. My pancake was cold, and the eggs with bread were okay but dry. You can tell you're paying less here than in other places. It shows in the quality. The fact is, I wouldn't recommend anyone go here. There are better restaurants. At other tables, guests got up and left because they weren't served. Waiters came with drinks and food, and no one knew who had ordered them. As I said, the service is unfortunately a disaster. Staffing problems seem to be a real issue here. The location is great, and the atmosphere is really inviting, but the lack of service wastes a lot of potential.

I’ve been coming here since my student days, about 50 years ago. I’m glad I don’t live in Amsterdam, but whenever I am, I always make sure to stop by. And the atmosphere still seems the same. A good Amsterdam pub in a great location. It’s a nice place for foreigners too. It’s convenient for them that there is multinational staff.

A nicely decorated, attractive tourist restaurant on the Spiegelgracht. I found the drink prices a bit off-putting (10 euros for a large beer). However, the food was perfectly tasty and the atmosphere cozy.

Advantage: Near the Reich Museum. Disadvantage: Very cramped. Very limited selection and the staff clears plates quickly as soon as they're empty. Drink prices are far too high.

I had Caesar salad and orange juice and if I remember well from the menu it was 15+4,50eur, but I paid 29eur by my banking. On the terminal vas 21 and I think the man said 21 too. In that moment I did not catch it and just pay, but after a while it clicked in my brain that the bank notification said 29e.. Everything else was good, but this. Check the recipe and terminal well before pay and do not be stupid like me to just trust…

Good food and service, great atmosphere

Slow service and lack of communication and skipping the orders of clients. Waiting for coffee 25 minutes and waiting to pay 15 minutes when you ask for waiter they say that colleague outside will help but they don’t so sorrow and bad time and orders management

Nice staff and a pleasant environment

Very cozy café close to the Rijksmuseum and Bloemenmarkt. I enjoyed my dutch pancake outside in the sun. Dogs were welcome and was offered a water bowl!

On our last day in Amsterdam, we discovered this fantastic place next to the Riskmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, etc. We really enjoyed the food and the service from the guy who served us; speaking Spanish made things much easier. A typical Dutch place. The only downside, and the reason we're not giving it 5 stars for atmosphere, is that the tables were a bit too close together. Otherwise, it was a 10 out of 10!

Grat food and location. Service like a true Dutch place, so non-existent. Direct and rude, makes you feel like the dumb one, even if you’re tired of waiting for service. Really a must-try for tourists! Get the real experience of the Dutch! Recommendable!

It was the first time I wanted to have a drink and enjoy the view, but the lady working there was angry, unfriendly, and very aggressive and rude. She also didn't speak Dutch when I came in; she looked very angry. It's a shame for such a nice cafe. I had to experience this.

Simple Dutch dishes; we had apple pancakes at coffee time. However, at around €17 per portion, it was a bit pricey. But the views of the canal were lovely.

An interesting place, delicious and fast. Judging by the number of customers, it's popular. However, there was a smoky smell inside. Overall, the place left a positive impression. We ordered bacon and eggs, coffee, and croissants. The croissants were very fresh and delicious. The bacon and eggs were served on toasted bread. The staff was pleasant and prompt.

Came here 3 times within one week because the coffee, pancakes and eggs were so good! Also, the tall waiter who speaks four languages was so lovely, we had him 2 times and he was very kind and made the experience great

We came here for a beer. The server didn't see us at first and then brought us an alcoholic beer instead of a non-alcoholic one, claiming we hadn't asked for it. It was eventually replaced. The service needs improvement. We were also overcharged.

Great stop for food and drinks after walking around the Rijksmuseum.

We were very smart and went on a boat tour after having had a lot of beers. After an hour and a half floating through the canals, on the verge of a bladder explosion, I was about to pee myself when I saw this place. I went straight to the bathroom, it was heaven. Then heaven continued at the table when I ordered a Pornstar Martini.

Finally, a place in Amsterdam that serves good quality coffee!!! A huge plus tables outside on a sunny day!

The Caesar salad was delicious and very filling. The red wine was very good. The atmosphere is fine if you don't mind being surrounded by other diners talking loudly but having a great time. We will definitely return if we go back to Amsterdam.

Tourist trap, everything ugly and expensive

Overrated, expensive, and they serve beers with way too much foam and hardly any carbonation. The decor is great.

They are very friendly and kind. Its not the same as north America pan cake, and shaped a crepe, but dish is good to have experience.

Very old cafe in Amsterdam. Warm and welcoming on a cold Sunday morning. Very handy for the Rijsmuseum. Staff are good, spoke English and dealt with our large party promptly. Nice.

Kind and attentive waitress, a little chaotic at times, but it suited the relaxed vibe of the place. The atmosphere overall was lovely, with great music playing in the background. Both burgers were delicious. The regular one was fantastic, and the veggie option was nice in a unique way. The fries were very good too. The menu mentioned that the dish came with a salad, but it turned out to be more of a garnish (just two lettuce leaves, some tomato slices, and a pickle). In my opinion a bit misleading. Dessert was where things fell short. The pancakes were disappointing, especially considering the price -very little applecinnamon flavour. In general, the restaurant is a bit more expensive, though that’s likely due to the location. Had a lovely evening! Would come back .

Worst service ever… First the place is not dog friendly - they came to our table to complain about my dog asking for our dog to not bark, but it was other table’s dog. Then the waitress pulled the chair with my bag and coat on it and placed it on another table – without the slightest care to see that my dog ​​was underneath, hurting her. After I checked on my dog ​​to make sure she was okay, I told the waitress: "My things!" and then she realized. In other words, extremely inexperienced. She could have asked for the chair so I could have removed my things and she could have picked it up. The service has to improve a lot to even be considered BAD, because right now it's deplorable. The worst place in the Netherlands.

There was a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere; clearly a place where people come together to enjoy themselves. A wonderful experience that truly rounded off our day. Definitely a place we'll return to.

A great cafe/bar with a retro feel

A wonderful place in Amsterdam where we had a delicious lunch. We were with a group, and everything was well organized. I'll definitely come back for dinner, and I highly recommend this location for drinks too. The staff was efficient and knowledgeable. All in all, a great experience.

I was here yesterday around 1230pm. The old guy serving the 2nd floor ( not sure if he is even the owner(, is not so friendly. People are all waiting and since we don't have a menu yet, we asked for his attention. He was already shouting and he is like walking all around in a very rush way or even stress. The 2 women seated beside us were already taking about the negative reviews here in Google. I also saw it prior coming but i wanted to see it myself as it could just be one time case. But true enough, not a pleasant stay. And no, i won't be coming back. 2/5 start as i still want to give credit to the food served to us which is just ok. Nothing special overall really.

We visited the cafe twice. We sat outdoor with sunny sky with the warm weather. We enjoyed the vibe with the falling yellow trees. The apple pie is so delicious. I like the mint tea the most.
