Delicious food, nice wine and exceptionally good service.

The atmosphere in the restaurant can be described as relaxed and cozy. A downside are the small tables, so the cheese fondue, drinks, noodles, bread, vegetables and any extras just barely fit on the table. If you sit on the walkway you cannot sit very comfortably as the staff walks close behind you. Another negative point we found was that the bread and vegetables were very cold, so the difference between the warm cheese and the cold food was too great. We thought the taste of the cheese fondue was delicious. Unfortunately, the dessert for us was not quite what we had hoped for. We had the crème brûlée. The sugar layer was not burned properly, so unfortunately you did not get the typical crunch of a crème brûlée. The staff was very friendly.

Beautiful romantic place with incredibly tasteful fondue. You can get as many refills as you want for bread and vegetables, which are extremely fresh and cooked 'just right'.

Since we love cheese fondue, we definitely wanted to come and taste it here. Small place, with even smaller tables. But we will survive that. Extremely friendly service. And then the cheese fondue. We had already read here that the portions were not very large, so the two of us ordered three pans. The Swiss and the French. We can only say that it was super tasty. We didn't need the vegetables. Because Brussels sprouts and cauliflower don't make me very happy. We ordered a delicious charcuterie board. For dessert we had the cheesecake. But we didn't like it very much. In short, you've come to the right place for cheese fondue.

Very friendly and lively fondue restaurant! Delicious fondue, we really enjoyed it!

Nice location and cozy atmosphere. There were three of us and we all ordered our own fondue pan, very nice to be able to choose from so many different flavors. There were a number of fondue pans on the table and even though we continued our eating pace quite evenly, there turned out to be a less full pan that was finished earlier. Shared this with the staff and the owner gave us an extra pan on the house. Top solution and delicious food. Also a plus: in addition to bread, various vegetables are also included.

The portions of cheese fondue are too small for an average or larger eater. And certainly for that amount. The sourdough bread is quite sour and therefore dominant compared to the cheese fondue. Service was pleasant and friendly.

What a top tent. Nicely decorated and melts nicely into the cheese. I also really liked the plants!

The waiter was very friendly, explaining everything and we were satisfied with both the Swiss and Dutch fondue.🫕 I can especially recommend the cheesecake! :)

It was really cozy evening in this place. Truffle fondue with veggies and potato on side, beef tartar and anchovies. We ate all :) Extra thanks for the atmosphere in the place❤️

The Swiss toast. OMG. The Affogato was also great. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They take the time for you. Delicious food on a Sunday afternoon.

Great choice of cheeses and appetizers!

Made cheese fondue for the first time with colleagues. It was super tasty, just expected more cheese lol. 1 such cheese pan is enough for 1 person, I just wouldn't eat it for dinner, but hey, that's what you get if you're a big eater. Atmosphere is nice and warm and intimate. Good service.

A place to visit in winter to enjoy warm fondue 🫕 They serve it with bread and veggies, you can ask as much as you need. There are 5 fondue options, my favorite is Hollandse and Zwitserse (Dutch and Swedish). They are more mild, and their aroma is created by combination of wine and spices (and not with blue cheese as in other options). If you like blue cheese, I recommend to get the French one. Service is Dutch, don’t expect anything special. Atmosphere: there is little space and tables are tiny in my option, what makes atmosphere less cozy. If you come in a group of 3 or more people you might get a couple of small round tables, and sitting together/sharing food would not be convenient. If you wanna try fondue this is a good place, but if you wanna spend your evening in a cozy restaurant I would recommend another place.

Impeccable restaurant, perfect welcome, top team, smiling and as for our plates it was incredible.

Great price if you share a fondue, especially with the unlimited dippers! Would definitely recommend. Get a low table if you can.

Everything was delicious, and the service incredible. Maybe a little expensive if you are not used to Dutch prices, but it is worth it.

Very nice food. We had 3 different cheese fondue's: Swiss, Italian and truffle. Swiss was the all time favorite. The other were delicious as well! Service also really good!

Cozy little place to set you up for that winter evening 😀 We had one of truffle and a Italian fondue. And both were great. The veggies and Bread is unlimited. I also ordered charcuterie to go along with the veggies. Wine paring were also perfect 🤩 suggest to make a reservation.

I have eaten some cheese fondue in my life, but this French one had not come along yet. That is also the most positive thing I can say about it. It was more of a watery cheese soup that didn't want to thicken. So pulling wires was out of the question. The stokbrook was more like regular bread. There was no crust and in terms of structure and taste it was more like cheap brown bread. There was nothing meaty about it and you were lucky if it stayed on the fork. In addition, the portion and the table (table) were small. Staff OK, as well as atmosphere, but that couldn't make the experience positive. I don't understand all the positive reviews. Maybe I just had bad luck.

We were served by a very enthusiastic waitress. You could tell that she also likes cheese fondue, at least that's what I assume. In any case, a relief compared to many catering staff elsewhere in the city.

Great food but it’s quite a tight space

De kaasfondue zelf was lekker. Helaas zat er wel erg weinig kaas in het pannetje en betaal je wel 28 euro. Ook het toetje betaalde ik 9 euro voor, maar de hoeveelheid is niet om over naar huis te schrijven. Ik merkte dat ik niet echt lekker vol zat toen ik hier wegging terwijl iedereen zijn eigen pannetje had besteld. De bediening is wel heel fijn hier! En de kwaliteit van de kaas is zo goed. Heel jammer want door de karige hoeveelheid ben ik niet voornemens deze plek nogmaals te bezoeken.

Amazing Fondue at Smelt highly recommend

De kaasfondue was op zich lekker. Maar niet enorm onderscheidend. Wel vond ik 28,- per persoon voor twee - niet al te grote - pannetjes met een paar stukjes groente en brood toch wel wat overpiced. De huiswijn (pinot Grigio) was smaakloos.

Heerlijke verschillende kaasfondue en een heel gezellig knus restaurantje

Aangezien we gek zijn van kaasfondue en de recensies lovend waren, zijn wij hier gaan eten. Het personeel is vriendelijk & snel met het serveren van drankjes. De kaasmix in de kaasfondues waren waanzinnig, we hadden het Franse en het Zwitserse pannetje. Echter was het aanbod ‘onbeperkt groenten’ echt matig. Groenten werden koud geserveerd, maar ook rauw/te kort geblancheerd. Persoonlijk geen fan van, dus kon ik alleen genieten van de rauwe witlof en brood.

Heerlijk gegeten! Super om de verschillende kaasfondues te proeven. En daarnaast ook nog eens heerlijke bijgerechten. Een echte aanrader!

Super fijne avond gehad bij Smelt Westerpark. Sfeer TOP, Bediening TOP, eten TOP. Een mega aanrader en probeer zeker de Franse of de Italiaanse kaasfondue, echt ontzettend lekker!

Een Hemelse Kaasfondue-ervaring bij Restaurant Smelt Als liefhebber van overheerlijke kaasfondue was mijn bezoek aan Restaurant Smelt in Amsterdam een waar culinair hoogtepunt. Gelegen in het hart van de stad, biedt dit restaurant niet alleen de lekkerste kaasfondue van Amsterdam, maar levert het ook een onvergetelijke ervaring op het gebied van service en sfeer. Bij binnenkomst viel direct de warme en uitnodigende sfeer van het restaurant op. De inrichting is stijlvol en gezellig, met aandacht voor details die de eetervaring verrijken. De persoonlijke aandacht en zorg dragen bij aan een gevoel van gastvrijheid dat je zelden elders zult ervaren. Wat betreft de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is Restaurant Smelt zeker de investering waard. De porties zijn royaal, de kwaliteit van de ingrediënten is hoog en de smaakbeleving is ongeëvenaard. In de week van de opening zijn wij bij het restaurant geweest. Ze hebben erg lekker eten en er hangt een hele leuke sfeer! Mochten we weer in de buurt zijn komen we zeker terug!

Bizar weinig kaasfondue voor 28 euro pp. Logisch dat ze onbeperkt brood en groente aanbieden want je hebt het toch niet nodig. Alle 3 met honger naar huis gegaan maar wel 130€ lichter. Het is klein, warm, en een soort luik open op het plafond waardoor de regen op je hoofd valt?! Bizar. Had er hoge verwachtingen van maar viel vies tegen

Great food service and ambiance

Een van de betere, maar ook prijzige kaasfondues die ik heb gegeten. Service was uitstekend en vriendelijk. Tafeltjes zijn eigenlijk iets te klein maar een kniesoor die daarop moppert. Gewoon een aanrader

Heel knus gezellig restaurant, echt klein maar fijn! Heerlijke kaasfondue!

Lekkere kaasfondue maar wel veel te prijzig voor wat je krijgt. Bij de Smelt in de 9 straatjes kregen we meer kaasfondue en kregen steeds brood aangevuld dat was hier niet het geval.

Na goede recensies te hebben gelezen over het personeel en eten besloten om hier te gaan eten. Echter is het helaas tegengevallen, de kaasfondue heb ik echt lekkerder gegeten. Daarnaast is onze kaasfondue nooit aangestoken (niet oplettend van ons, maar had door personeel zelf gedaan moeten worden) waardoor we gewoon een broodje kaas aan het eten waren. Ook was de portie voor de prijs veels te weinig. Echt heel duur terwijl de kwaliteit niet goed is. De bordjes die al op tafel lagen zat ook aangekoekte kaas op. Niet heel fris. Personeel niet oplettend waardoor we echt te vaak voorbij zijn gelopen. Het restaurant is heel klein en er waren weinig tafels dus ik snap niet goed hoe dat kan. Wij komen hier niet meer terug jammer genoeg. Veel van verwacht, maar erg teleurgesteld. De scroppino was wel echt heel erg lekker

Lovely food and setting. Id recommend the italian and truffle fondue! Only reason why I gave 4 stars is because in comparison to a few years back, the amount of cheese fondue you get is half. But I guess everyone is affected by the economy :).

Excellent fondue and great atmosphere

Prima gezeten, gewoon relaxed. Prima hap, lekker drankje. Informeel. Aardige lui. Hadden mazzel dat er iemand weg ging. Proppievol!

Toller Ort um ein Bier zu trinken. Der Kuchen war auch sehr gut. Personal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich.

Nice place for a snack & a beer.

Great kass shop with snacks to grab on the go. Had a Saucijzenbroodje today and it was still warm, a beautiful thing while walking the dogs around the canals. Definitely worth poping in.

Matige korrelige fondue. En dan ook nog eens tijdslots.

Heerlijk fondue van diverse plekken uit Europa. Duidelijle verschillen en mijn advies om ze allemaal te proberen. Zowel met brood als groenten. Heerlijk. Vriendelijk personeel.

Wij hebben heel lekker gegeten, we hadden drie verschillende kaasfondues besteld en het is lastig om een favoriet te noemen alles was even lekker. De groenten om te dippen waren allemaal precies beetgaar niet te slap en niet te rauw, helemaal perfect. De favoriet om te dippen was het brood dit was echt super lekker. Ook nog een compliment voor het team, wat een leuke mensen en alles werd perfect uitgelegd!
