always a great dining experience and it’s worth every penny. everything is so fresh from the veggies to the meat, and the frozen dumplings are definitely a crowd favourite. amazing options for dessert as well such as ice cream mochi or fried pumpkin pies. love the kindness of the staff!!

We were very warmly welcomed with our baby and dog at the restaurant. It's spacious, with a high chair and changing table, very convenient. It was our first time trying Chinese hot pot and it was a wonderful discovery, thank you!

We had a very last minute birthday party here and they accommodated us with the most amazing service. Probably the best service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant in amsterdam. Food was amazing. This is the place to go.

A really nice restaurant on the Zuidas. Authentic Asian atmosphere. Delicious food too. However, the service was less than stellar. We had to wait ages for our drinks (they stood on the bar for fifteen minutes before being brought), and the service was chaotic. They constantly apologized for forgetting us again. That was a shame. Still, I'll definitely be back because of the fun concept.

Everything was delicious. We tried the half and half vegetarian soup and various mushrooms and vegetables, and tofu. A good option for vegetarians.

A basic menu for two with enough food for €70. Very attentive waiters. Clean restrooms. They give you an apron to eat with, but be aware that your clothes will smell like broth for two days.

It was an excellent first experience of this kind and I don't think it will be the last, so the staff were welcoming and smiling. We were seated quickly and served just as quickly. Ordering with a tablet is really nice because it allows you to be served as you go. We paid 68 euros for 2. I didn't see what the menus were made up of and if for the price it was profitable, but when you make your own menus the prices increase quickly.

We love it! It's our first choice for hotpot. The price is reasonable, the food is delicious, and the service is great. We even had a Dutch waiter who spoke Chinese. Yuan Ji's service is always very satisfying and warm, which is rare in the Netherlands.

We had an excellent dining experience at this place! The staff is very friendly and explains the entire concept, and ordering is very conenvient with tablet. We ended up ordering one of the suggested menus, and the amount of variety was great, different meats, seafood, vegtables, mushrooms. Despite it being a menu for four people, we ordered it for a group of five and were still full by the end of it. It was a highlight of our trip to Amsterdam, and a strong recommendation for anyone who loves a social eating experience.

I gotta say, they won me over with this one. The employees were so friendly, funny, and helpful that they made it a really enjoyable experience. I’ve been to a lot of hot pot (in the US) but this one was definitely the most organized and logical experience - they thought of everything. If I had a small complaint, I do think it is slightly pricey - e.g. a euro for three pieces of broccoli. But all that said, I left completely full and it didn’t really end up being that much more expensive than any other meal, especially in a nice neighborhood. It’s always hard to get a meal that’s filling, healthy, delicious, and cheap, and this seemed to be all of them. I’d like to call out one employee in particular - I think his name was Hubert. He was really funny, told us stories, made us feel welcome, even chatted with us for a bit after we had paid and were hanging out waiting for a cab. It’s a great experience. Do it!

Very nice, I never tried hot pot before, but it was super, I really recommend, skip the skewers and go straight for the sliced entrecôte to dip in the pot.

It was very much worth the experience! We took the 3 different flavoured broths. We liked the hot one especially. For drinks we took the sweet & sour plum juice. It was so tasty that I asked for the brand and then i was told that she made it herself. After asking for a bottle she put a lot for us in two containers for us to enjoy at home. Perfect location for dinner plans!

Hot pot first timer🤷‍♂️ The food was excellent, wide variety of meats, skewers and vegetables to choose from. You should also try the desserts. Loved the presentation and vibe. Nice and attentive staff. Had a great meal and really liked the whole experience.

We saw their poster ads at the train station near the Wind Mills, they sure know how to get Chinese customers attention. We came on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm with 3 tables of customers, but by the time we left there were 10+ tables full of customers and most of them were not Chinese. You don't have to worry if you haven't tried this before as the wait staff are very patient at explaining how to order and cook. As a native Chrngduness, the flavor was not spicy to me, but good enough for this market. We ordered the lunch combo for two then added a few more items. Overall a good option for AMS.

We'd be happy to return. Reservations, orders, and payments were all digital and hassle-free. Friendly service, panda ears for the kids. For families with children who can already sit near a pot of boiling soup, friends, or colleagues, this is a great opportunity to eat, drink, and spend time together. The food was delicious, even for the kids.

We dined here 2 weeks ago and had the best hotpot experience ever! The staff were so kind and even gave little panda soft toys for the kids. The food was very nice and great value for money. There was also a spinning the wheel where you can win free drinks or meat etc which was also fun - I won a free glass of wine! Overall highly recommend it, and we will definitely visit again when we come to the Netherlands again. P.S. we have also recommended the restaurant to some friends living in the Netherlands and they will also visit soon :)

As a hot pot lover, this is a great place to enjoy a delicious evening with friends. The selection of dishes and the service were also excellent; I was definitely happy at the end and my stomach was full. It was worth the price for me.

Good Chinese hotpot. The restaurant gets very busy but it’s easy to make a reservation online. Good selection of meats and lots of vegetables to choose from. The mushroom plate is gigantic and big enough for 4 people

This is hands down the best dining experience I ever had in my entire life. I chose Yuan's hot pot for the start of my birthday party and it was the best choice I could've ever made. The staff is the nicest I've ever seen. The waiters & waitresses, cooks and and the boss are the nicest people on the entire planet. The food was exceptional - full of flavour and surprises. The prices are extremely low for what is being offered. The restaurant feels like home and creates an unforgettable atmosphere. Me and my friends felt treated like family which created a home-like atmosphere. There are no words that could express how much we enjoyed the entire experience. Thank you everyone for making my entire day and birthday amazing! I appreciate every single minute that I spent in the restaurant and I hope I can come back as often as possible. Our first hot pot experience! And we were more than thrilled!

We were able to get a table without a reservation on Thursday 6:30. The meat quality and taste is really good, they have a good selection of meats and veggies, prices are reasonable and the sauces are really good. Also the taiyaki waffle is incredible!!

It was my first time eating hotpot, I was pleasantly surprised on how good it was. They have a wide variety of options you can choose from the menu, also some vegan options if you’re into that. I’m used to Dutch spicy. So the mild spicy soup base was quite spicy for me, but it was good overall!

We payed about 30 US dollars for just water, it was absurd but the food was still good. If you are planning to go here, buy water from a store.

I had the pleasure of dining at Yuan’s and it was a fun and unforgettable experience in terms of flavor and service. When I explained this was my first time doing hot pot, the staff made sure to guide me every step of the way and make sure I was having a good time. They even helped me celebrate my birthday. In addition to friendly, efficient service, the food is quite flavorful. The broths were tasty and kept hot. The medium was too spicy for me but I still loved it. The meats, dumplings and vegetables were all delicious. The staff is awesome -all were helpful, thoughtful and attentive. I highly recommend checking them out. You will enjoy.

--- edit: owners' initial response --- I appreciate your honesty in admitting that the menu photos are not updated to match the new portion sizes, but it now feels like a bait-and-switch. If your menu shows 1 skewer for 1 euro, how is it ok to cut the skewer in half and still charge the same price? I would have appreciated it more if what I ordered matched what was advertised, especially at these price points. --- original review --- €60 for a vegetarian-heavy meal for 2 people is a bit expensive. Photos on the menu don't always match what you get - the menu shows 3 meatballs on the skewer but you only get 3 half-meatballs, or it shows a full skewer of beef when you just get a bacon-thin slice stretched over the skewer that dissolves in the soup. Service and atmosphere were nicer, but given the price it probably would not be financially responsible to come back.
