Nice place. Both fondues were pretty flavorful. They don't look like much, but they're a good individual portion. The bread was quite lacking, but the accompaniments were pretty good. The service was quick and friendly. We spent 80 euros for two people.

Excellent English breakfast non greasy and amazing service

We visited Het Karbeel and enjoyed an excellent fondue. Our chosen fondue was perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of spice! We ordered fresh vegetables as a side dish, which were wonderfully crisp and aromatic. The recommended wine also went perfectly with the meal and rounded off the taste experience perfectly. The staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We also particularly enjoyed the cozy and stylish ambiance of the restaurant. We will definitely be back and can recommend the restaurant!

The cheese fondue was delicious. The chicken satay was delicious. It was perfectly pink. We enjoyed it. Friendly staff! A must-try when visiting Amsterdam.

What a lovely restaurant! Cozy atmosphere, good service, very friendly staff, Dutch-speaking—you don't often find that in an Amsterdam restaurant anymore. The cheese fondue is highly recommended. The other dishes also looked very good, by the way. I'll definitely be back.

Beautiful location on Amsterdam's oldest street in a lovely building. I've known this restaurant for decades. Plenty of cheese fondue options. And they're delicious! The accompanying bread is fresh and crispy and you can order as many as you like. Friendly service. Cozy atmosphere. We got a great spot by the window.

Delicious cheese fondue that you can order individually. There were three of us, so we were able to order three different cheese fondues. The German version and the one with truffle are highly recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Esta en pleno barrio rojo y puedes pasar de largo porque parece mercado de turistas.. pero seria un error. Gran restaurante ! Las diferentes Fondues que proponen son buenisimas, la carne es fantastica y casi todos los platos estan muy bien ejecutados. Ademas el personal es muy atento. No lo dudeis: si estais en el barrio rojo.. entrad !

This place is a vibe! Great atmosphere, fast service… and most of all really good food! I had the English breakfast and it was delicious, the coffee was first rate and the orange juice freshly squeezed! Highly recommend!

A very solid choice of restaurant for central Amsterdam. Six of us visited at lunch and all enjoyed variations on fondue. In particular, I enjoyed the beer and herb fondue. Be aware that, on the menu, if you'd like to share a fondue there is a surcharge of around €5 - although we were not charged this!

A very cozy restaurant with fantastic cheese fondue and very friendly staff. We had a table by the window, and it was truly a fantastic spot! We thoroughly enjoyed it!

This is a lovely place with a cosy feel to it.. The staff were super nice and friendly and helpful and the food was amazing.. Don't be put off by the blue cheese in their house special., it isn't super strong and offers great flavour.. The dessert we had was AMAZING..!! I visit Amsterdam every five years and always eat the reasonably priced cheese fondue here. Lovely classic bistro interior, subdued music, friendly Dutch-speaking staff! And then there's the view of the very lively Warmoestraat.

We were the only ones in the restaurant, but the staff were mostly busy with each other, constantly turning their backs on us. The cheese fondue was tasty but lukewarm.

Breakfast was delicious. I had the bacon and apple pancake and it slapped. Everything else was pretty good too. Only complaint was probably the slice of ham felt like it was from the grocery pre sliced. Still good tho. I highly recommend. Service was fantastic.

5 stars - A true delight! We were in Amsterdam for two days and were really craving cheese fondue. We quickly stumbled upon this restaurant on Google Maps - and it was an absolute hit! The cheese fondue was a true feast for the palate - incredibly delicious, made with high-quality ingredients and perfectly seasoned. The other dishes on the menu also looked great and were prepared with love. If you're in Amsterdam and craving cheese fondue or just good food: an absolute recommendation! We would go back anytime.

Nice restaurant located close to Amsterdam Centraal. The food was okay - the appetizers were much better than the fondue. The bread served with the fondue was slightly stale and the fondue itself tasted very bitter.

Great fondue with friendly and helpful service

Food was oven cooked to perfection. Broccoli soup and onion soup with melted cheese served in mini dutch ovens.. prawn al dente, carppacio delicate flavour and presentation Liv and Alehandro served us well and helped us order.

The fondue and goat cheese salad were very good but the young waitress is mean. We had a reservation and reached on time. The waitress gave us the table in the front where the fans didn’t work but couldn’t give us a table towards the back of the restaurant where the AC was because “they were reserved”. There were several empty tables there. When we said (consistently politely) that we had a reservation too, so why couldn’t she give us one table, she made her anger more than known- huffing and puffing (literally)- telling us she’d get someone else to talk to us. She asked an older lady who was more than gracious and gave us a table at the back right away. This older lady served us with a smile and kindness, It was odd that we were the only people of colour there the entire time, and till we left, no other white customer was asked to sit in the front by the young waitress.

I loved this place! We got the suisse fondue and it was absolutely delicious. It comes with bread and we also ordered potato wedges, steak, and chicken with peanut sauce that also paired nicely. They had great wine options that went perfectly with the fondue. We also had a great dessert and dutch coffee. Will absolutely recommend to any of my friends who go to Amsterdam.

We visited this restaurant as tourists and felt very welcome from the very first moment. The welcome was warm, and the service throughout our visit was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was not only very good, but also exceptional – prepared with attention to detail and truly unique in its flavor. Although we unfortunately didn't try the cheese fondue ourselves, it looked fantastic at the neighboring table, and the guests there were visibly enthusiastic. We had two fondues (Swiss and Karbeel) between 3 of us (there was a €5.50 surcharge but the bread was unlimited so this was no problem). Really tasty I would highly recommend x

La comida (en particular la fondue) era genial, y el servicio era atento y amable. Incluso tuvimos una reunión casual con Tiger, el gato naranja que deambula por los restaurantes del barrio (también lo vimos en un lugar de desayuno el día anterior). Una comida maravillosa.
