The Tapas plate was excellent and a great way to sample a variety of starters. Ribeye and tenderloin were grilled to perfection. Spare ribs were heaping. Everything was delicious! Make a reservation - you won’t be disappointed.

We visited this restaurant and were absolutely impressed! 🥩✨ The steak was perfectly cooked — juicy, flavorful, and delicious. The grilled vegetables were also incredible: fresh, tender, and well-seasoned. Everything was served hot, still steaming — you can feel that they cook with heart. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and we even received a complimentary treat at the end — such a lovely gesture! ❤️ Cozy atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend to everyone who loves quality meat!

We had a reservation, and yet, upon arrival, we were seated next to the grill, literally surrounded by smoke, with the waiters running around. Honestly, it was very uncomfortable trying to enjoy a meal. The staff was friendly, but their lack of experience was obvious, and above all, their lack of knowledge about what Argentinian beef really is. To begin with, we ordered empanadas: they arrived cold, we sent them back, and when the new ones arrived, we found something even worse: they had peas inside! In Argentina, that's inedible; they would never serve you an empanada like that. The chorizo ​​was completely burnt, with no juice and no flavor. The meat was dry and overcooked. And the "chimichurri"... well, that definitely wasn't chimichurri; it seemed more like an Indian sauce than anything resembling Argentinian cuisine. We left very disappointed. With so many options in Amsterdam, we honestly wouldn't return.

We were attended by JULIANA, a wonderful madame from Armenia, Colombia 🇨🇴 We felt like in our own home. The music is full of Latin power, and the food is just simply DELICIOUS! 🤤 We had the chorizos and the Rib-Eye. Everything was so good that we had to repeat! The cherry 🍒 at the top: We were celebrating our marriage commitment & my fiancés birthday and they gave us delicious Jace cream with birthday candle and a joyful song! The experience was WONDERFUL!

Juliana served me! The service she provides is fantastic. It's been a long time since I've felt so well taken care of. She made the experience unbeatable. As for the food, it might just be the best restaurant I ate at in Amsterdam. 100% recommended. If you come, ask for Juliana; you won't regret it.

Disappointing Overall, With a Few Minor Positives We visited this restaurant with some expectations, but the experience fell far below what you’d hope for from a steakhouse in Amsterdam. The steaks were acceptable, but they arrived very late and were overcooked, most likely because they had been refired. This took away any enjoyment from what could have been a decent main course. The tapas starter was particularly weak — onion ring, chicken wing, a few ribs — all lacking seasoning and flavor. It felt like no real effort was put into preparing it. Service was another problem. At one point, we waited 18 minutes for the staff to clear the leftover bones and plates from our starter. I also asked for the salad without dressing, but the request was ignored completely, which shows a lack of attention to customer preferences. The ambiance was mediocre, and overall the place felt disorganized. The one positive was the Corona beers, which were enjoyable — but that’s not exactly something the restaurant can take credit for. There are many good steak places in Amsterdam, and unfortunately this wasn’t one of them. A few things were okay, but overall the experience was disappointing. ———— (Update – Response to the Owner’s Comment) Since the owner replied with statements that don’t match what actually happened, I want to clarify a few points. When the steaks were first brought, there was no space on the table because the appetizer plates were still there — they were left for 18–19 minutes after we had finished them. We never said we “hadn’t finished the tapas”; the plates were simply never cleared. This is visible in the photos. It then took another 10 minutes to clear the table and about 20 more minutes for the refired steaks to return, which explains why they arrived late and overcooked. The photos also show the lighting and ambiance — strong blue LED lights that don’t match a typical steakhouse. We gave feedback repeatedly throughout the meal, so asking “is everything okay?” didn’t reflect the situation at the table. And finally, finishing food does not automatically mean the food was good — sometimes guests eat simply because they’re hungry or don’t want to waste what they’ve already waited a long time for.

Okay! We went for dinner! We ordered the *gringa* steak (300 grams) with salad and a baked potato. Both were incredibly dry; the steak was undercooked. That's why it was so dry—they don't know how to cook it properly. The only good thing about the place was the helpfulness of the waitress with glasses, Julieta or Juliana! A Colombian girl! The rest left much to be desired! /// And here's the answer to your answer! Why would I lie? Basically, the purpose of reviews is to let future customers know about your restaurant. I'm not obligated to say this right away. The potatoes were left uneaten. And the steak, of course, we still paid for it! Should we have thrown it away? It's a shame that instead of taking my feedback to heart and paying more attention to your cooking, you think I'm lying. Well.

I was expecting a lot after reading the previous reviews, but this restaurant doesn’t quite deliver. The meat is good quality and the staff are friendly and attentive, but there is no flavour to anything — they simply don’t season the meat ( or salad, potatoes, etc) No Argentinian would put a steak on the grill without proper seasoning. I asked about it and was told it was “all natural.” Yeah, no — that’s not how it works, not in Argentina anyway! If you’re not going to season the meat, at least provide a decent salt and pepper mill on the table and not the tiny containers that didn't work well. Their version of chimichurri was a bit off — slightly sweet, and the vinegar used wasn’t right. It's a version of chimichurri but not close enough to the real thing. I would have given it two stars, but I’ve added an extra one because of how genuinely good the staff are.

Everything at Formisa Argentina was wonderful! I have never had such a delicious steak. Our servers were accommodating and constantly checking to make sure all was good. The manager came to check to make sure all was good. The restaurant is decorated festively reflective of Argentinian culture. Make sure you don't miss this wonderful gem of a restaurant.

I saw that Amsterdam is full of Argentinian restaurants so I Googled the one with the best rating near Centraal Station. I walked over after a long day of conferences and had an outstanding dinner! Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was as friendly as can be. Seriously one of the best steaks I’ve eaten in a restaurant in a while. The ambiance is down home. I felt like I was in uptown NYC. No frills, just good food and smiling faces. I recommend this place just as highly as the Michelin rated restaurant I ate at previously on this trip.
