Fou Fow Ramen van Woustraat in Oude Pijp

The place has several tables available and is tastefully decorated. It really offers a nice environment. The care is also in the details such as the "thank you very much" in Japanese printed on the bottom of the receipt :) . The kotteri tonkotsu ramen was really very tasty! The broth was quite fatty but still very rich in flavor and not overpowering. The meat was tasty and everything was really pleasant. My partner, on the other hand, had a gluten-free ramen with miso broth and it tasted too delicate, unfortunately. They offer tap water if requested and a selection of Japanese drinks. IMPORTANT: They have a gluten free menu and also offer gluten free noodles. Inexplicably, this thing is decidedly poorly reported. We found this out from the reviews.

Overall a nice experience, took the Chicken Ramen, it was nice, but was missing something, a little bit more flavor. A little bit more noodles would have been better, we ended up ordering an extra portion, but that doesn't taste the same, in any Ramen. The dumplings were nice, both fried and steamed. As well as the kimchi. The service at the beginning was a little slow, but picked up afterwards, it was friendly nonetheless.

We know this place from TikTok. However, it doesn’t really meet our expectation. The broth is fine (was good enough) but the toppings are cold. We ordered 2 large Tonkotsu and Shoyu ramen, both had the same problem. The chicken wings were too sweet. Except sweet, there was no other taste that left inside our mouth. Compare to the portion size, the price was quite pricy. The marinated eggs were so so :/, doesn’t have the marinated taste

The food is awesome, Gyoza and Tan Tan Men are was delicious and authentic, of course cannot compare with those in Japan but totally acceptable when you are in Europe 😂

Maybe the worst ramen I've had. I had the miso ramen and the broth had almost no taste, was very thin, the pork was almost uncooked and I finished it in a single bite, the spinach doesn't really match the taste, the noodles were okish. The service was not good, we had to beg to order. The atmosphere was nice but the temperature was too cold, and I was wearing a wool sweater. 2 stars because the starter was very tasty (chicken bites). Luckily there are other super nice places in Amsterdam.

I didn't realize until I sat down that I was at the wrong restaurant (I thought I had walked into the Pizza and Pasta place next door) but I decided to stay and enjoyed my dinner! The pork ramen was fine and the gyoza were very good as well.

One of the best Ramens in Amsterdam. Try the oily option. Add the spicy feom the table. Also de gyozas look home made and not supermarket. We received great service almost at the time the kitchen was about to close. Thats a good example of great service. And they also charged me correctly after sending the small beer by mistake instead of the big one. I will return someday.

The taste was the best :) I ordered medium tonkotsu ramen and it was really delicious except that it was a little too salty for my taste 😆 The chashu was soft enough and the bean sprouts were cooked just enough so it had a nice texture. It was one of the best ramen restaurants I've ever eaten 👍🏻 Netherlands When I got here, I ate it with Heineken and it went well together and was delicious ☺️ However, it took a long time to order + for the food to come out 🙃 The hall was busy and there were only 2 employees? I think it took longer because you were there. Overall I was satisfied :)

Great place for ramen! I was here on a Friday and there was still enough space for me and my friends to sit even though no reservation is possible. The staff is amazing, super attentive and thoughful, they made the experience of dining here more fun. The food is great! I wouldn't say it was the best ramen I have ever had, but a solid 8/10 for sure! I had the vegan miso ramen with tofu. We also had gyoza's which were delicious! Will come again!

Staff was nice and the ramen was good but there are quite a few small flies on the wall and flying around inside that it doesn't feel very nice.

Located in De Pijp, this place has a great atmosphere and the food was delicious. I especially loved the gyoza — they were juicy, though I would have appreciated a larger portion.

Lovely place to eat gyoza and ramen, it was delicious 🤤 I hope in the future thay add some sweet in the menu like mochi, daifuku or dango.

The service speed is very slow, we waited for almost 20 minutes. The portions are quite large, we were pleased with the taste. The place is big and spacious, if you sit there in the kitchen, you can watch the making.

Waiters are very friendly and quick. Food is incredible, portions are huge even for the smallest order. There are also miso and soy ramen. Prices are average too. Will definitely visit again :)

Chicken ramen 7/10 Gyoza 9/10 Service speed was slow. Our order was taken 20 minutes after we sat down. The air conditioning inside was not working. Food was delicious. Price/performance is successful.

Exactly what I needed at on the night I went. Staff were easy going and friendly. Ramen was rich and tasty gyoza was crispy and good.

3/5 experience. From the things we liked is the place itself and decor, it looks quite cozy. The food would be great, however the plates weren’t properly clean and there was an aftertaste of a soap in the ramen. The service was quite passive aggressive, after mistaking our order we didn’t even receive an apology.

Pro: Friendly Servers Con: I ordered Tonkotsu ramen and it was genuinely the worst ramen I've ever had. I would have preferred instant ramen. I don't know what it was - maybe I got the wrong order, maybe today is a bad day, but yeah, I'm not coming here again. If you want good ramen, check out OTEMBA on Kinkerstraat.

The ramen lacked authentic flavor and tasted like soup you can get out of a can. The broth was overly salty and uninspired. Would not go again or recommend.

Really good Ramen! There are s lot of Ramen-joints in Amsterdam, and I have to be honest ans say that I’ve only tried this one. And it didn’t dissapoint.

Good ramen, both classic and vegetarian and vegan options. The advantage of this Fou Fow location is that there are no queues! The service sometimes struggles when there are more people, but it's still a great place that I come back to regularly. The large ramen is really big! 🤤

Great ramen spot in Vienna. We had the Chicken ramen and Katsu Curry. Both dishes were hot and flavorful. The broth in the ramen was so flavorful and savory. My son enjoyed his curry and the portions were great as well. Lovely staff with a beautiful outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant. Great place to sit and eat during a beautiful stay in Vienna!

Easy going restaurant to enjoy some ramen bowls, including good vegetarian options. The broth is savory and the bowls are big portions. Decently priced. We recommend the boiled vegetable gyozas!

Karaage was fried for too long in old oil and really salty. The meat was juicy though. It was crunchy but more hard crunchy then soft crunchy 5.5/10 The Tori ginger lemon ramen was not flavorful. The broth had no depth, the chicken no flavor and had a lot of oil. The lemon flavor was light and no ginger. 6/10 The tonkatsu ramen was good. Flavorful and really balanced. 8/10 It was not busy with 15 people during lunch hour.

I had the chicken ramen. Honestly, I think the ramen is quite westernized. The noodles were wagamama level, the toppings used very local ingredients(which is good, however I haven’t seen a lot of ramens with spinach as one of the toppings). It’s tasty, I just would classify the ramen as western adapted level ramen.

Other ramen places in Amsterdam should be ashamed of their existence in comparison with Fou Fow. Ramen here is just otherworldly tasty, you can't get broth as thick as the one here. Actually I don't think I had a better one anywhere else in the world, although I haven't been to Japan yet.

Cute spot with great service and nice ramen. We all had the classic tan tan man ramen, which had a very lovely broth. They’ve got chili oil on the table to boost spice if you like, which we certainly did. Overall nice experience.

I love this place! Their Ramen is just amazing! They have gluten free ramen and many other options in the menu. Also they can make it vegan! Service is good at the guys are nice. Really recommend!

The place is wonderful, in comparison with others the prices are very reasonable, the location is good. Kotteri Tonkotsu Ramen the atmosphere is fire, especially for anime lovers and connoisseurs of everything Japanese, the tables are small and neat, there is a summer terrace, there are plenty of seats Food: the portion of change was simply huge, you can share and eat one for two, this is a big plus, we took two Kotteri Tonkotsu Ramen and chicken ramen Tori Lemon Ginger Ramen (no pork) The first one is very large, dense (large portion), rich and beautiful The second one is super unusual, with lemon 🍋 and ginger 🫚, you don’t see this everywhere We also took a bottle of sweet green tea, in general I don’t like green tea, but this one was just exceptionally tasty, I’ve really never tried anything like this, I highly recommend going The staff is very polite

Nice food but not the best ramen in Amsterdam. Service unfortunately was very bad…our order was forgotten and it wasn’t until we asked where it was 45mins later that they even realised we were still waiting. No apology nor any offer for compensation, just a shrug. If your in the area then pop by as it will definitely do the job, but there are far better places to spend your money on ramen in Amsterdam! (OTEMBA takes the crown for me)

Wanted to go to another restaurant down the road but didn’t book so couldn’t get a table. Found this ramen spot in a cold windy night, and decided to give it a try. Luckily only had a 5 minute wait. We had one lemon chicken and two tonkotsu ramen. The person having the lemon chicken ramen is a picky person but was pleasantly surprised with how well the ramen was. The tonkotsu I had was also superb because it is tasty yet it doesn’t make you thirsty. In Asia, good broth should not need to add a lot of salt or whatever ingredients in a degree that makes it extra salty and then makes you thirsty. Instead, true professional soup is done by cooking the ingredients for long hours thus giving it the full bodied flavour. I don’t used to finish ramen soups because lots of ramen shops take shortcuts and just rely on powders to get quick flavours. I finished the tonkotsu soup here and this speaks louder than anything. Also had karaage and chicken wings. Both were awesome. Good price point as well. Just felt that it is abit under staffed. Would visit again if come across this ramen shop again in the future as I am just a tourist.

i've had better ramen in Amsterdam (ramen kingdom, fuku ramen?. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen, personally i feel like the broth itself lacks flavor and richness. The charsiu pork also was not the best, lacks flavor as well.

Food was tasty. Not too salty and 13 Euro. Food was tasty. Service was fine. I got my food promptly. I will eat there again. Could have put more vegetables in the Raman.

I really like this place, it is a restaurant chain in Amsterdam and has good ramen dishes. My favorite is with lemon and ginger, if I feel a bit sick that soup reminds my mom’s soup :) price is affordable and taste is delicious

Ik dacht dat het onmogelijk was om miso ramen te verpesten, maar fou fow heeft het geflikt! De bouillon was dun en smakeloos en het ei helemaal niet lekker gemarineerd. Het vlees was bleek van kleur. De noodles zelf waren prima. Ik vond het restaurant ook nog eens een tikje ongezellig en niet heel erg schoon. In Amsterdam kun je zoveel betere ramen krijgen!

I was quite shocked about the very disappointing quality of their ramen soup. We tried two different types of ramen and both broths where tasteless (watery with big chuncks of uncooked garlic). Overal every ingredient looked pale and therefore wasn't fresh. The meat didn't smell well, so we refused to eat or order something different. We refused to pay for the ramen soup. Most of the staff was not really happy with us as you can imagne. But even after some feedback and conversation they did not take our judgement seriously. I gave them 2 stars for service because one waiter respected our opnion and took out our order. *thank you very much* However this was overal a sad expierence of a bad quality ramen.

Amazing ramen! Full of flavour, the noodles were cooked perfectly- it was delicious!

I had the vegetarian ramen. I’m sure all the the ramens are really good, vegetarian ramens are hit or miss. This one for me…..didn’t quite do it. The toppings were excellent, however, the noodles a little too hard? Like hardly cooked the broth wasn’t even making them soft. The broth was fine, a little fishy tho. That’s personal taste ofc. I also had the vegetarian gyozas which were very nice. So crispy and delicious. The service and ambiance was very nice. The staff were very attentive and cool. Seemed like a good vibe. Veggie ramen not so great tho.

We went here because my partner specifically wanted tonkotsu ramen in De Pijp. However, the tonkotsu ramen did not impress him as much as other ramen restaurants in Amsterdam (think Ramen Kingdom, Ramen Ya). I don't think we will be visiting this place again. However, if you happen to walk past this place, it's a decent meal. And if you order Japanese iced tea (for example, we ordered the jasmine tea), they give you a bottle of over 500ml, which is great value for money. The decor is also awesome inside, with an outside area if it's nice weather to sit outside.

Great food with a lot of options. Got the classic tonkotsu ramen. Good ramen with a perfect bite. The pork chashu was very tasty. Its a nice streetfood style place to eat and leave. Not really to stay after dinner and chitchat & not really comfortable to sit for a long period of time. 3 stars because of the waitres who “welcomed” us. So grumpy and probably not her day. Het attitude really bothered us and it changed our mood too. After a while another waitress arrived the with a bubbly happy mood. We rather had her as our waitress. =))

Fou Fow Ramen in de Van Woustraat Amsterdam is goed bereikbaar en centraal gelegen. Leuke tent waarbij je ook buiten kan eten. De Karaage was lekker met wat spicy mayo erbij en 6 kleine stukjes kip. Qua ramen gekozen voor de Kotteri Tonkotsu Ramen. De broth was mijns inziens iets te zoutig. Wat wel jammer was, want het ei, het vlees en die noodles waren erg goed. Geen fan van tauge in mijn ramen. Al met al was het niet verkeerd en wel een van de betere ramenrestaurants! 4 sterren is hier wel op zijn plaats!

Disappointing noodles. The service was fast and efficient. The atmosphere is good for a quick casual meal. I had vegetarian ramen and the broth and toppings were tasty but the noodles seemed like they were from a packet and were not top quality. Prices were reasonable.

Not sure why it's ranked so high. Classic tonkotsu ramen was quite bland, lacked flavour depth a lot, I found it watery in taste. The veggie gyozas very tasty. There are many vegan ramen options which is nice, but I haven't tried those. Staff was quite awkward but overall not bad. Interesting interior and overall relaxed vibe.

Prima eten hier hoor, goed gevulde Ramen soep en je kunt er nog extra toppings bij bestellen als je dat wilt. De service is vriendelijk en goed, Engels talig toen ik er was maar het is Amsterdam dus dat ben ik wel gewend en vind het ook geen probleem. Parkeren in de buurt is een ramp dus openbaar vervoer heeft een pré.
