One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the staff were extremely rude and disrespectful. We were a group of five, including two children, and they insisted that every single person had to order a full meal and a drink — even the children. When one of the children didn’t want to eat, they refused to proceed with our entire order because of it. The way we were treated was incredibly rude and completely unprofessional. We felt very unwelcome as customers. A very disappointing experience, and definitely not a place I would visit again.

Very rude and unprofessional service. I do not recommend this place. We were 5 adults and 3 children, including a 2-year-old, and we did not have a reservation. I went downstairs to ask if we could sit, and he said yes as long as we ordered dinner. After sitting down, we ordered 3 pizzas, a salad, and 4 drinks. He then insisted that we order an additional meal for the children, so we added another pizza even though the children were too young to need that much food. He then moved us to a smaller table because not every child had an individual order. After that, he insisted that we order another drink because the restaurant was expensive. I explained that I cannot drink while eating due to a health issue, but would have a drink afterwards. He rudely refused and told us to leave if we were not willing to order as he wanted. If there is a minimum-order policy, it should be clearly explained from the beginning. We tried to accommodate every request, but the repeated rude treatment made us leave. Very disappointing experience. There are many other restaurants nearby that treat their customers much better.

There were just the two of us; I had misto del chef, three types of pasta. The tortellini (undercooked) and penne were mixed together on the plate with the same tasteless cream sauce, and in the middle, lasagna that tasted like the pre-packaged kind from the supermarket. My daughter had bolognese and got a stomach ache while eating. Neither of us finished it. The older man walking around there was very stressed and unfriendly. The rest of the staff were fine, but they didn't do anything about it when I said it wasn't very tasty and the tortellini was undercooked. All in all, very bad; if I couldn't give a star, I would have.

1⭐ Hospitality here is apparently only for those who order enough! During a pleasant day in the center of Utrecht, we were discovering all kinds of nice places to eat and drink. That went excellently all day: cozy terraces, friendly service, and a good atmosphere everywhere. Until we arrived at this place. We wanted to take a seat on the terrace down by the water, just to enjoy a nice drink and a small snack. Even before we could sit down, an older, rather grumpy gentleman — possibly the owner — made it clear to us that just having a drink and a small snack was not the intention here. Look, if a restaurant chooses to make the tables by the water available exclusively to guests who come for a full meal, that is their prerogative. But there is also such a thing as hospitality and communicating properly with potential customers. And as far as we are concerned, that was completely lacking here. This gentleman's attitude was so sour and inhospitable that we were immediately cured of any desire to spend another euro here. I usually write reviews mainly when I am very satisfied with something. But I am also happy to take a moment for this experience. Because a beautiful location on the Utrecht canals does not automatically mean that you can treat your guests as if they should be grateful that they want to sit on your terrace. That is probably exactly the problem with some establishments in these kinds of prime locations: when the weather is nice, the terrace fills up anyway thanks to tourists and day-trippers. Then hospitality apparently suddenly seems a lot less important. Our advice: just walk on. There are plenty of nice bars and terraces around this place where you *will* be welcomed warmly and where they are happy you are coming. In any case, we are not going downstairs here again to eat or drink. A beautiful spot by the water is nice, but a hospitality establishment without hospitality remains, to us, simply a bad establishment. And to the grumpy gentleman who spoke to us: we hope you are reading this. Perhaps it is good to consider that a beautiful location brings people to your terrace, but hospitality determines whether they will ever come back.

The service was terrible, nothing. It seemed like they didn't want us to eat there. I had my own water, but you can't use it. The problem was the way they spoke to you. Very disrespectful, in my opinion. The food was okay. The pizza was nothing special. For the price..I will never came back.

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. From the beginning, the staff was not friendly or welcoming. We were a group of six people, and there was a table available that could accommodate all six of us. We were told that the table was reserved, but it appeared that it was simply being held for customers who had not arrived yet. As a result, our group had to sit separately, which was very inconvenient and took away from the experience of dining together. We were also told by the waiter that we could not drink our own beverages. We understand that restaurants have policies, but the way this was communicated to us felt unnecessarily rude and disrespectful. A policy can be explained politely, and unfortunately, that was not our experience. To make matters worse, the food portions were quite small considering the price. Overall, we were very disappointed with the service, the attitude, and the experience. When customers come as a group and spend their money at a restaurant, they should feel welcomed and appreciated.

2 of the 6 dishes we ordered were simply forgotten. As a result, we had to wait an enormous amount of time for the rest of the food, while the food at the rest of the table got cold. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was just as disappointing. The bruschetta was worthless; dry bread with tomato on top, with hardly any flavor or effort. The caprese wasn't anything to write home about either. The mint tea was served with loose mint leaves, making it impossible to drink it properly. To top it all off, the plates were broken. All in all, the combination of poor service, long wait times, and food of dramatic quality made for a very disappointing experience. Not worth the money at all. I would strongly advise everyone against eating here.

The waitstaff provide reasonably-relatively well service. However, the service upon arrival was very poor. The head waiter, owner, person in charge, general manager, manager—whatever the title or responsibility of the person at the entrance—was TERRIBLE. He seems so accustomed to customers simply showing up that he doesn’t even bother answering basic questions about tables or reservations. We decided to stay anyway, but then the food turned out to be all about appearances: it looked nice on the plate and was beautifully presented, but there was nothing particularly appealing about the flavor. The truth is, we saw SEVERAL signs telling us that we should go somewhere else, but out of consideration and because we wanted to give the place a chance, we decided to stay and eat. At one point, I took out a bottle of water to take a medication pill, and the waiter scolded my sister and told her she was being disrespectful. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT GO BACK.

Awful. Rude staff. We came 3 ladies to enjoy a beautiful evening in Utrecht. Once sat at the table, a waiter came and kicked us out - because we wanted to order drinks. Said "only dinner". No signs telling this. I think it's illegal. First time I meet this attitude in the Netherlands. What a shame...

Cozy restaurant by the river, we sat 30cm from the edge and it was fantastic. The food was good and so was the service.

The place is beautiful, with outdoor seating overlooking the river, but unfortunately, the smell is unpleasant, like sewage 🥺. However, the food is delicious, and their pasta is great. We ordered three types of spaghetti: red spaghetti with shrimp, white spaghetti with shrimp, and plain spaghetti, all delicious. We also ordered fettuccine with chicken and white cream sauce, which was also delicious, and a delicious vegetable pâté. The unusual thing is that their garlic bread isn't the usual; the bread is cut, and the garlic sauce is separate, which you add to it. The prices are somewhat expensive; the bill was 138 euros for 8 people, including drinks, of course.

Ridiculous. 18€ of Frozen pizza… that’s all. Being Italian I can tell the pizza was frozen and the chef couldn’t tell me how he made the pizza. Not even Italian, for sure. Please do not call that “pizza”, it’s not respectful for my country.

There were three of us; one wanted to eat, two wanted something to drink, but apparently all three of us had to eat. They kicked us out. We had been here before with our group of friends and had eaten then, but we are never coming back.

For me, the worst is that smoking is allowed at the terrace. But the place and the food are really nice.

We ate there twice, and both times were excellent, although there were some differences. The pizzas were ready quickly and tasted great. The calzone was really good the first time, but the second time it wasn't as good. There was too much tomato sauce and little flavor. The atmosphere was also much better the first time, but that was because we were a bit early the second time. That just makes a difference in the atmosphere. It definitely deserves 4 stars. It's also very affordable. For me, 5 stars is more like a top-notch restaurant, and this isn't. You can eat well, tasty, quickly, and affordably. We ate there with four people, including drinks, some coffee, and dessert, and we spent just over €100. I think that's very reasonable. After an afternoon of shopping, this is a great place to grab a pizza.

Friendly staff, felt like I was in Italy not a canal in Utrecht. Absolutely gorgeous food. Vibe were lovely, family friendly suitable to all types of bookings.

We were greeted warmly at the door, and the staff were attentive to our guests and took the time to chat. Service was quick, and the price-quality ratio was excellent. Despite the busy crowd, the staff exuded a calm atmosphere.

The service was friendly, but the pizza wasn't fresh at all. The base and crust were hard; I wouldn't be surprised if it was frozen. The arrabbiata was a pasta with onions and tomatoes, a bit of a shame. Not very Italian.

They were very friendly on the phone and offered us a free pizza for one person! We thought, of course, that was nice and went there to eat. When we arrived, no one came to help us, so we had to sit down somewhere. The Sprite wasn't fizzy, and the pizzas were pre-made. When we went to pay, they tried to charge a friend 22 euros, and it was 16.75! Ridiculous!

The interior is very cozy and has a lovely atmosphere. For the warmer months, you can also sit outside on the terrace overlooking the canal. Service was prompt and very friendly. We really enjoyed the food. I highly recommend the chef's misto if you're in the mood for lasagna, penne, and tortellini. It includes a small portion of lasagna with some penne and spinach-filled tortellini—delicious! No other feedback, so 5 stars on everything! Definitely recommended ❤️

We are a family of 3 adults and we asked if we could sit down. The waitress replied (with a completely cold tone) that if we don't sit down to eat, we should go somewhere else. Rude behavior. Finally -because it was late- we sat down and ordered pizza and noodles, in addition to drinks.

We went to this particular restaurant with two people and the person who took our order told us in a very rude manner that we couldn’t sit down unless we ordered something else! (We got a pizza and something to drink) And after we asked him how it was possible that he wouldn’t let us sit down, he told us in a very rude manner to go across the street to Mc Donald’s to eat! I find this behavior unacceptable and I would not recommend it under any circumstances!

The restaurant is very cozy, and the staff is very friendly and perfectly in keeping with the Italian theme. The food is delicious; my favorite dishes are the shrimp and the pasta. Everything about this place is perfect. If you're looking for a restaurant for a date or something else, this is it!

Great location right on the Oudegracht canal. Service was fast. The pizzas were okay, but nothing special. Prices are very reasonable for this location.

We sat down for tiramisu and alcohol, and 20 minutes later, a waiter arrived. When we told him what we wanted on the menu, he said we don't serve food here, so go somewhere else. He tried to send us to a place not by the canal. Very poor service.

A real Italian place to eat on the canal. We had a great time, it was a very cozy atmosphere. The service was great, very nice people. The food was a bit simple, but still fine, we enjoyed it very much.

Service: A young waiter who obviously wished he were Italian – unfortunately, he was rude, arrogant, and unattentive. He attempted two or three Italian words, which seemed more forced than charming. It was rather embarrassing. Food: The pizza dough was raw and sticky, the crust soggy. The topping consisted of discount-store toasted ham, and the "hot sauce" served was a Chinese chiracha sauce. Overall, the ingredients were very cheap and the taste was disappointing – although the generation socialized with McDonald's and frozen food might still get their money's worth here. You have to admit, they made an effort; it wasn't raw, and it was salty. Location: TOP – you have to admit. Probably the reason why you can afford a culinary misunderstanding of this kind here. It has nothing to do with Italian cuisine. Paid: €55 for two people. AND as a bonus for tourists: CASH ONLY – supposedly because of a lack of internet connection.

Very unfriendly staff, poorly trained, and lacking in interest. The carpacchio was inedible; it had more mayonnaise and onions on it. We didn't notice the carpacchio, and we didn't get any bread with it. We left it, and then we were yelled at, asking why we didn't eat it? Because it's inedible! Four people at the next table all ordered pizza, and they also said it was the worst pizza ever. Never again from this restaurant.

The food was okay, but not great. The Margherita pizza tasted more like a plain cheese pizza and didn’t seem very fresh. The carbonara was made with cream, which was unusual and not what we expected. When it came time to pay, they said they only accept debit or cash. Credit cards weren’t allowed, which felt a bit sketchy and caused inconvenience. Overall, we left disappointed and wouldn’t go back.

Nice place, salty and disgusting food. When we got there they immediately asked if we wanted to eat a whole meal, we only wanted to eat something small and they became very unfriendly.

Well, nice on the canal, and very affordable. That says it all. We had a tomato soup, something that is almost impossible to fail, which was unparalleled rancid. The cappuccino was also of very low quality. The service was also quite pushy and food was served from plastic bowls. Not recommended!

personale molto cortese e disponibile, tavoli sia all'interno che lungo il canale, il locale è invitante, ma la pizza ci ha deluso moltissimo: abbiamo provato una margherita, una specie di diavola ed una con il salame, ma la pizza sembra surgelata con l'aggiunta di ingredienti di bassa qualità: ad esempio sulla piccante avevano aggiunto peperoncini jalapeño sott'aceto, l'impasto risulta molliccio e la pizza è stata difficile da digerire.

A super good restaurant! Everyone works really hard here, it really is a well-oiled machine. Compliments for both the kitchen and the service! I had Spaghetti Aglio Olio and my friend had a delicious pizza Quattro Formaggi, everything super fresh and very well prepared. It is also all very affordable. Good location, both on the terrace and inside you can sit comfortably. Five stars more than deserved! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We were welcomed by Marco, place was very loud, mostly young people, nice varied menu. I ordered and enjoyed my pizza. My mum was very sick after eating the salmon.

I don't often leave a review, but this time I have no choice! The location is fantastic, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is fresh and full of flavor. The tenderloin in mushroom cream sauce was really excellent! The entire experience – from the atmosphere to the service – without a doubt deserves 5 stars. A great place where you not only eat delicious food, but also receive really good service!

What a wonderfully cozy place to eat. The service was super friendly. Even though the place was full, it didn't feel busy or rushed and the food was on the table quickly. We had 3 different pastas and a pizza and it was all delicious. Really enjoyed it!

We had a delicious meal, the people were super helpful and very nice. We had the Spaghetti alla Gamba and the pizza stagioni, highly recommended!

After being a vapiano fan for years, I switched to this original and authentic restaurant, in a wonderful location and with friendly staff who always welcome you with open arms. Personally, my favorite dish is the mixed fish dish (called fritto misto on the menu). The fish tastes fresh and is prepared in a wonderful and professional way. The pizzas are also a must to order. The dough is made fresh by hand every day by the pizza chef. It is wonderful to sit with them on the old canal with a view of the Dom Tower. Even in winter it is nice and cozy inside and you can dine in an old beautiful warm wharf cellar. Ps the price-quality ratio is also great, so a pizza will cost you around 14 euros. It couldn't be better!
