Super delicious food. 2 1/2 hours of unlimited food from the menu. Ordering was easy, the food arrived quickly, and the service, including Bente, was super nice and customer-friendly. A restaurant stands or falls with, among other things, good staff, and that is certainly well covered here. Give it a try! We were able to sit outside, which was lovely.

Wonderful staff and delicious food

We went for drinks on the night and had the loveliest time!! Big shout out to 2 guys in particular, I know one being Calvin, who didn’t make us feel rushed at all and made us feel so comfortable and safe as a group of women. Especially when they instantly stepped in when a man would not leave us alone after we’d consistently said no.

I ate at Genki with family via SocialDeal. The food was fine and the service was okay. We sat outside in the courtyard, but it wasn't very atmospheric. Also, it sometimes took a long time for the dishes to arrive, and the staff didn't let us know when our time was up, so we waited a long time for dishes that never came. No apologies or anything like that. I wouldn't eat there again, but for this time, it was okay.

The sushi was decent, but not worth returning for. The manager was extremely stressed and unfriendly; he was yelling commands very loudly into his earpiece to the other staff. His stress levels meant that it wasn't a very pleasant dining experience.

We sat in the courtyard; it had a relaxed vibe, lovely sunshine, a nice urban atmosphere, some music playing, the conviviality of the other terraces next to us, good food, and friendly service. We were assisted by the manager on duty. The gentleman was very unfriendly from the start, showing no interest in his guests. After we took our seats and realized that we did not find his attitude acceptable, we decided to leave. We were called after by the gentleman in question: "Hi, hi" (to get our attention) "You are no longer welcome!". What a peculiar way of acting. This gentleman clearly does not belong in the hospitality industry.

Our go-to sushi place since 7 years+ ago, even pre-covid. I don’t think the 4.2 rating is deserved so I wanted to share my support / this review. Consistently friendly and polite staff, great value and of course: sushi and the dishes are prepared fresh and delicious. What makes us come back: we’ve always received wonderful service and of course the food is consistently good - management is clearly doing a fantastic job. Favourites: nigiri flambeed salmon and eel, eel with cheese uramaki , beef roll w/cheese, and our kids always order the sweet potato fries, which i must say are perfectly made (not expected in a sushi place). We have yet to sit in the garden so we’ll look forward to our birthday lunch next week for it.

Short story: Overall, the food was good and the service was very quick. The central garden area is lovely, although the side seating areas are fairly average. The tempura had a slightly sandy texture, which was disappointing. I was also surprised that some of the more interesting sushi plates weren’t included in the all-you-can-eat menu. Long story: I’ve been to many all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in different countries, and I’m still looking for my favorite one in the Netherlands. This place was perfectly okay, but it didn’t leave much of an impression. The service was excellent, our dishes arrived incredibly fast throughout the evening. The food was generally good, the ingredients seemed fresh, and the white wine we ordered was nice. However, every tempura dish we ordered had a slightly sandy texture, so we ended up leaving most of it. The restaurant itself is pleasant. The indoor seating is nice, and the central garden area is definitely the highlight of the space. The side seating areas, on the other hand, felt fairly ordinary. The menu looks quite extensive at first, but many dishes are small variations of the same items, and some of the sushi that caught our attention wasn’t included in the all-you-can-eat selection. I left feeling like the overall experience was just… average. Nothing was particularly wrong, but nothing really made me think, “I’d love to come back.” There are enough good sushi restaurants around that I’d probably try somewhere else next time. That said, if you do visit, you can expect good service and decent food, just don’t expect it to be especially memorable.

Impeccable cuisine with a perfect balance of flavors; the spicy sushi is fantastic, and the salmon, tuna, eel, and scallops are incredibly fresh. A very pleasant lounge atmosphere and very friendly, professional service. The welcome was top-notch (perhaps from the owner?) and the all-you-can-eat menu is superb. Not a single flaw; we went twice, three days apart. I highly recommend it for sushi lovers 🍣. The best part? The soju!

I took everything I could eat in 2.5 hours and five rounds. It's better to reserve a place in advance, as I think the restaurant is quite busy in the evenings. I arrived at 3pm, there was room for me, and I received excellent service. They have a garden, and it's beautiful. I was very impressed and left with a full stomach of delicious food. Always delicious all-you-can-eat sushi. We have been coming here for years and the quality has always remained good. In the summer, you can sit in the beautiful garden. Furthermore, they have a nice cat roaming around.

My favorite sushi restaurant for over 10 years. Incredibly good quality! Definitely one of the best in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. The salmon simply melts in your mouth and the sushi are generous portions. Not those mini bites that are just enough to taste :-) The atmosphere and staff are also really top-notch! Unfortunately, I had a nasty experience at Genki Amsterdam today.. I had made a reservation for lunch a few days ago. The lady told me over the phone that reservations could be made from 1 to 3 o'clock. I chose 3 o'clock. Once I arrived at the restaurant, another lady informed me that the dinner rate had now taken effect. After putting in some effort, it was possible to do something about the rate through a workaround. Absolutely no discount could be given because the lady could not adjust it in the system. We were a party of 4, and she would charge 3 people, allowing us to have slightly fewer portions per round (15 portions instead of 20), which was a fine solution for us. Unfortunately, the trouble started after that. We had the following negative experiences: - Having to ask for the order list ourselves twice because they did not return it. - Staff not making eye contact, not even when walking past. - Only having 3 rounds in 3 hours. - Walking past the table without taking the order list, even though it was ready. - After only 3 rounds, they told us we had to do the last round because time was up - Sushi that falls apart when you pick it up The adjacent tables all received their food faster than us. It seemed as if we were being punished and given extra slow service because we were being difficult. Or because the lost revenue needs to be recouped in another way? Then we finally received the bill, and it listed four dinners. I asked if this was correct because the agreement was that we would pay for 3 people since no discount could be applied in the system. However, it turned out that the price could indeed be adjusted. So, the whole story told at the beginning of our visit was a lie. It is a shame that our visit turned out this way. I have been coming to Genki for a very long time, but I have never experienced anything this bad. Unfortunately, no more Genki for us.

I recently visited Jenki Genki and unfortunately left quite disappointed. They offer two menu options: à la carte and an “all you can eat” menu. We chose the all-you-can-eat option expecting a straightforward experience, but that wasn’t the case. Several items came with additional charges that were not clearly explained beforehand. If you’re paying for an all-you-can-eat menu, it shouldn’t come with surprise extra costs. On top of that, dessert wasn’t included, which added to the overall frustration. The lack of transparency made the experience feel misleading rather than enjoyable. Overall, not what we expected, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless they improve their communication about pricing.

The food here does not disappoint! One of the best food I've had at a restaurant. The food is so good. This is tbe second year that I've come to this restaurant and its still just as good.

Food was very fresh and well made. Salmon was impeccable. My only remark is that the range of the rolls is limited, and you must pay extra for them. However, apart from the rolls there is plenty to choose from. The lavatory was clean and spacious. There was also an orange cat, super friendly and loves pets. Will not bother you if you don't like cats. She might kindly ask if you enjoyed your meal.

Cant really review the food, however I had made a reservation which was confirmed via email aswell, to turn up to them being closed with a piece of paper in the window saying closed. You should edit your Google page to save people wasting their time.

Overall the service was too slow and the staff in a coma. The food was ok but everything tasted a bit sweet - there was no balance. The tea at the end was just a tea bag, no leaves. It tasted pretty bland. We were captive audience because we were all tired snd hungry, however the food was very mediocre and the service even worse. The toilets were filthy.

Do not go if allergic to Gluten!! They don’t have an accurate menu and can’t tell you what contains gluten and what doesn’t. I sat for 20 minutes trying to figure out the menu to be told at the end they can’t cater for me.

The food was delicious! So many choices and everything was fresh! The fish was incredibly tasty, and the cucumber crackled with freshness. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was cozy! We opted for the plum wine and have now discovered a new favorite!

We dined with a group on Saturday night. Our group was divided over two tables. While one table was busy filling out round three, the other table still needed their first drinks and first round. We ended up waiting an hour and a half for this. In the end, we only managed two rounds in two and a half hours, so we decided to leave because this wasn't it... A waste of money, never again.

The food is amazing. I went here for my graduation and the 6 of us ordered an all you can eat. The food comes in waves, but the quality of the sushi are amazing. I love the flambeed salmon, it melts in your mouth, and all the nigiris are of quality cut. The place has a nice ambience and i loved the aquarium near the entrance door. If youre looking for quality AYCE sushi, i would recommend Genki. Make sure you made reservations beforehand.

We ate at Genki again after seven years and it was fantastic. When we still lived in Amsterdam, it was our go-to sushi place. The food is top-notch, the service is fast, and they don't cheat (making guests wait a long time to feel full). Even seven years later, Genki is still a top restaurant in Amsterdam. All you can eat with limits, too much limits 😕

How can it be all you can eat and have a cap on how much you can order and a max on how many rounds you have to order sounds more like false advertising the food is oke but by far not good enough to make up for the shady marketing tactics

Ordered food via Uber Eats at 5:53 PM. At 7:24 PM, so an hour and a half later, I received a message that the food wasn't coming because they were too busy. Appalling. They could have said that right away. And Uber Eats charged all the costs immediately. Now let's just hope the money comes back, at least. Shame!

The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was okay. Depending on where you sit, there's not a lot of space and you're a bit too close together. We sat upstairs, and there, especially with a table for two (long bench and chair), the seating arrangement during our visit was very close together. This made it a bit harder to talk, as you could perfectly hear everything from the tables around you, as if you were dining with six people. Despite that, the food was excellent and the service was quick. No complaints there.

It is overall fine. My problems is the concept of filling everything with rice, even when I ordered rice with salmon, I only get rice no Salomon was on the rice at all. Second I have book with all you can eat with 5 rounds, the waiter took the paper we use for ordering after the 4th round and didn't return it back to us, we didn't want to order more so it was okay but politely wise he shall return it to us.

I went for "all you can eat". They allow you to choose 5 dish per person per round and it is max 5. We felt enough full after 2. round. The thing I really hated is the ligthining. It was the worst sushi I've ever had; very thin, meager sushi that I think was made two days in advance. The staff was also unfriendly. When we said we weren't satisfied with the sushi, they said, "Okay, but you still have to pay for the drinks," and then they held the card machine in our faces. Good food, somewhat slow service

Unfortunately, it's one of the worst and most expensive all-you-can-eat restaurants I've ever eaten at. The location is nice, of course... right in the middle of the city, on a lively street...but unfortunately, that's about it. The food is bland. Dishes with fried beef have a strange aftertaste and don't smell pleasant, while the salmon dishes are completely overcooked. The sushi itself is okay, but certainly not a culinary highlight. Boring and a bit outdated, with ingredients like cream cheese that have seen better days. Desserts aren't included in the price, not even a simple scoop of ice cream. The cocktails look nice and taste good, but you barely taste the alcohol...and that for €15 each. No, unfortunately, I won't be returning. You could even call it a real tourist trap.

Years ago, when I lived in Amsterdam, I loved going to Genki. After receiving a voucher through Tripper, we made a reservation at Genki. According to Tripper, reservations were available from 4:00 PM. We made a reservation for 5:00 PM and arrived about 10 minutes before that time. It turned out our reservation hadn't gone through. The employee didn't know anything about Tripper. I asked if he could check with his colleagues, but he initially refused. The employee said we could still eat there, but at the regular price. I explained that we had already paid for the food online. Reluctantly, the manager was called, and we were asked to take a seat. The employee told me they wouldn't open for another 11 minutes. Strange, because Tripper said reservations were available for an hour before that. Fifteen minutes later, the employee arrived and explained that the boss wasn't offering a Tripper promotion. In his words: "He (the boss) tells me to kick you out." The employee indicated that he obviously wouldn't say it that way, but the bottom line was that we had to leave. I asked if he/his boss would confirm this in writing so I could pass it on to Tripper to discuss a refund. This request was ignored. My mother was deeply shocked by this extremely rude and downright hostile attitude and was on the verge of tears. Eventually, the boss was called, and the employee passed the phone to me. The comment about "throwing me out" was downplayed, and when I explained that this attitude was simply unacceptable, we were finally offered to take the vouchers. Reluctantly, but with little choice given the rain and lack of time, we agreed. It was a very uncomfortable situation in which the employee (however well-intentioned) didn't act decisively, and Genki's internal communication and administration were inadequate. You can't sell vouchers online and then shame the guests who use them and make it so difficult to redeem them. The food was decent. Nothing special and limited selection, but the dishes we did have were tasty. It's a shame our dinner started off so poorly. Ultimately, this means this will be our last time at Genki, and we certainly won't recommend this restaurant to our family, friends, or business associates.

The sushi was absolutely disgusting! Everything else was dry and overcooked, and what a mess! There were cockroaches crawling on the ceiling, and my friend saw a mouse when she went to the restroom! The waitress smelled awful! I left right away!

Delicious food, incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked fish, crispy but not greasy fried food, fresh and crunchy nigiri. Practically perfect service, generally attentive, smiling, and helpful staff; shame about the manager, who was a bit grumpy. We had a great time and will be back. The food itself was ‘good’, yet the service and therefore the atmosphere was not. It was very clear the staff wanted to leave as soon as possible far before the restaurant (or the kitchen) was even closing. On top of that, mistakes were made with our order and one of the dishes turned out to have eggs in there, although the menu stated there would not be any (I cannot eat eggs). I can’t comment on the food, but I was very disappointed by the service. When I politely asked for an extra chair to place my backpack, I was told it wasn’t possible—even though there were plenty of free tables and chairs available. This left me with a very upsetting impression.

Food was mehhh.. Mediocre at best. Also you need to pay extra for some sushi rolls. Which is fine if the ingrediënts are different than the standard menu but it's all the same. Excerpt for maybe the beef sushi. Which in many sushi restaurants are included in the standard menu. I do not recommend the rainbow. It tasted awful. The staff however gets all the credits here. Ambience is also nice in the garden at the back of the restaurant. Wish the food was better though.

We cane here for our wedding anniversary after reading all of the comments but we were left disappointed. The scallops did not taste fresh at all, very fishy and off tasting. We order sashimi and sushi but decided not to eat it. If you are expecting great quality sushi, do not expect it here. The other dishes were also ok, nothing to be wowed over.

Full of mosquitoes in all the restaurant. Beats you every moment. Very expensive for quality food. There’re bones inside salmon pieces. Very inattentive stuff. We paid 96 euros two people and several injuries of mosquitoes in our skin. Not a recomendable place at all

In addition to the order, we asked for a glass of water to drink the pill, but they could only offer to buy bottled water, although they should always give a glass of water for free.

The location is unexpectedly beautiful inside. The food is very good, but average compared to other sushi places in the city. They stood out for their more refined dishes and very good service. the only thing is the basic choice of menu, many dishes are outside the all you can eat menu, but I gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice atmosphere :)

Excellent quality for the all you can eat menu. The fish was very fresh. There is a 5 round limit, but it’s more than enough to eat as much as you want. Garden area in the back was very nice in this summer weather.
