We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. We paid €38 per person for all-you-can-eat, and the quality of the sushi was good. They also took my wife's pregnancy into account, as she can't eat certain foods. The staff was also very friendly. The restaurant isn't very large, but that makes it well-organized, and we were always served quickly. The decor isn't great and could use some updating, but most importantly, the food was excellent. I would definitely eat here again!

For me, the best Chinese restaurant in Amstelveen, truly fantastic. And like on Sundays when it's a bit busier, they politely call to let me know the delivery will be a bit late. Very polite and friendly. It's a real shame that an AH XL is opening and Golden Bird is having to go, but I hope Golden Bird stays in Amstelveen, for example, at Bankrashof or Kostverlorenhof.

We ordered €100 worth of Chinese food. Normally, this would be enough for half an orphanage, but I was very disappointed with the quantity. Small bowls of nasi and bami. The quality was fine, but the quantity was very disappointing for the price.

Absolutely gorgeous food, big portions, very tasty. This was the second time we tried it and we will be back.

I've been getting it regularly for years and I'm satisfied. For about a year now, the food hasn't been good. Cha sieuw isn't crispy anymore, and the koe lo kai has been fried multiple times, making the meat incredibly dry. It's a real shame; for years, the price-quality ratio was more than reasonable. Now, it's definitely not anymore.

I went here for dinner today with my boyfriend. The website says €25.50 per person for all-you-can-eat sushi and Chinese food. We ended up paying around €95. So the price is incorrect. The sushi was very dry and didn't have much flavor. The chicken looked good but was also completely flavorless. It was simply inedible. At first, we thought it was strange that the restaurant was always so empty, but now it's understandable. It's also way too expensive for this poor quality. Unfortunately, this was the first and last time for us.

Not much 'Japanese'... Business 'Chinese' with usual menu without inspiration and character.

Busy in the hall for takeaway and some tables occupied in the restaurant. Our food, the family package, was ready in 15 minutes. Was tasty and enough for 3 people. Too bad they are also leaving in 2026 due to renovation of the shopping center.

Ik woon hier al 23 jaar en Golden Bird zat altijd vol. Viel mij de laatste tijd op dat de zaak leeg is. Weer eens eten afgehaald en de kou lou kai was niet te eten. Duidelijk in de magnetron opgewarmd en oud met de saus niet apart, maar doordrenkt. De juffrouw aan de telefoon sprak heel slecht Nederlands dus kreeg een hele andere en veel duurdere bestelling dan ik had doorgegeven. De porties zijn zo klein dat je er niet genoeg aan hebt met z’n tweeën. De loempia werd eetbaar door er veel soja saus bij te doen. De tomatensoep was veel te zoet. En heb echt veel betaald want het is geen goedkope Chinees. Dit was helaas de laatste keer dat ik hier gekomen ben.

I've lived here for 23 years and Golden Bird was always packed. I noticed lately that the place is empty. We picked up food again and the kou lou kai was inedible. Clearly microwaved and old with the sauce not separate but soaked. The (friendly) lady on the phone spoke very poor Dutch, so she received a completely different and much more expensive order than I had placed. The portions are so small that it is not enough for two people. The spring roll became edible by adding a lot of soy sauce. The tomato soup was way too sweet. And I really paid a lot because it is not a cheap Chinese. Unfortunately this was the last time I came here.

Good resto for Chinese, Japanese sushi and Korean.

Quick service and delicious food

Have been coming here for years. However, ordinary Chinese eat less and less. Delivery poor. Pastic bag was crushed and the spring rolls had fallen apart. Fat ran out and the food itself was also tasteless (no salt). Meat was not fresh, but warmed up and dry. Nasi was wet and cheaper broken rice. Pay a lot and increasingly poor quality. Terrible!

Way too expensive for the minimal portions of mediocre quality food.

Small scale, therefore much better than the large all you can eat sushi. Quieter dining. Combination of Japanese and Chinese. Price-quality ratio is excellent.

Food tasty, old fashioned chineed

Food itself okay. There is no atmosphere. Actually a takeaway restaurant. You can eat unlimited oriental dishes from curry to sushi. Thai, Chinese etc. A bit of a mixed bag really. Reasonably priced!

We hadden babi pangang en koe loe kai besteld. Gortdroog. Niet op smaak. Een potje sambal en een klein bakje saus erbij. Buiten dat het niet voldoende was, kon het het gerecht niet redden. Eigenaar aangeschreven. Deze begrijpt niet waar het over gaat. Dan maar een recensie. Wij bestellen nooit meer iets hier.

Delicious food, nice people, small business

Ordered sushi here often, and always good. But tonight..... The sashimi was inedible, just like the salmon nigiri. Ordered Ebi Furai, and I remember why you shouldn't do that, completely soft and a tough shrimp. I'll go to Kokusai again.

The all you can eat concept is five rounds of five dishes per person in two hours for 36 euro's. Well, believe me, you will not leave the door hungry there. Friendly and attentive staff. Ask for a fork and knive if you don't like to eat with chop sticks.

Became ridiculously expensive, combined dishes went from €13 to €19. The food is simply not worth it.

Wij komen al meer dan 15 jaar bij Golden Bird met grote regelmaat. Zeker 1 keer in de 2 weken en soms zelfs iedere week. Maar sinds ik denk een maand of 2 hebben ze een een andere of nieuwe kok en het eten is echt niet lekker meer. Eten terugsturen, smakeloos. Bestelde kippensoep het was bouillon met 1 stukje bosui en smaakte naar niks. Soep is normaal erg lekker. Ook de hoofdgerechten zijn smakeloos. Zo jammer dit! Wij halen nu een stukje verderop chinees maar hier komen wij jammer genoeg niet meer. Hopelijk lezen zij deze review en gaan er iets aan doen.

As usual, we had a delicious meal. Pleasant staff. Lots of choice on the menu.

Very bad restaurant. Had to wait 30 minutes for drinks. Never received the 2nd round of all you can eat, after waiting 45 minutes I asked for the bill and left. Their fault that it takes so long and the like is considered your problem. For 2 beers and a wine and 1 round of all you can eat you had to pay 60 EU. 1st time and my last time.

Perfect. The food is delicious, there is a lot of variety. The service is impeccable. Everyone very friendly.

Just got 2 vegetarian spring rolls. So far I have always been satisfied with the spring rolls, but they were absolutely inedible. Different chef?

Prices do not match what is stated on the menu. Shrimp 3 euros more expensive. Mini spring rolls 1 euro more expensive, babi pangan 2 euros more expensive. Shame. Also order nasi noodles or rice separately with each dish.

Went there like 30 mins ago with my parents. They’re old and take some time for them to decide. The store was literally empty, no customers at all… despite that the brat behind the casa looked quite annoyed when we couldn’t decide what we wanted. She would start tapping her dirty fingers in the counter like she had something else to do( when we arrived she was just sitting). I told her right away that it would have take a bit. She would just stand there staring at us and after a bit also tapping on the counter nevrotically. Eventually we went to the ah and bought something else for an easy dinner

Drinking is not included in the all you can eat formula, so it will still cost you a lot of money. Service and food were fine.

Cozy Chinese restaurant, with take away. Sunday seams to be the busiest day. Restaurants could benefit from a refresh of the interior.

It's a shame that you now suddenly have to pay for the nasi or bami, which was always included. And also paid €2 for the plastic containers. So for two portions it suddenly becomes €6 more expensive. Don't know if I'll keep coming here.

Nice little all-you-can-eat Chinese/Japanese restaurant. The options are not plenty but enough to make you very full after 3 rounds of order :) Service is quite nice as well.

Extreme necessity! Well, we actually only go to this Chinese restaurant if we have to. On Sundays and public holidays there is not much else around. Then we get something tasty here, because admittedly: the nasi is good. The service, however... You come in with 'Good evening' and they barely even look at you. The order is taken and while waiting the service in the restaurant itself seems friendly. But then. When the food for takeaway is ready, there is a kind of snarl from behind the counter, the paper bags are dropped on the counter and ready. When you wrap it up and say 'Thank you and good evening', only the lady's back is visible. In short: we only come here when absolutely necessary.

Delicious Chinese/Japanese food taken away

ieder jaar sterven meer dan 70 miljoen haaien in een van de meest wrede praktijken van de visindustrie. Vaak worden de vinnen van haaien afgesneden terwijl ze nog in leven zijn. Meer dan negentig procent van het dier wordt vervolgens weggegooid, omdat het vlees van het dier zo goed als niets waard is. De vinnen daarentegen gaan voor honderden euro’s per kilo over de toonbank. Haaienvinnensoep is al eeuwenlang een delicatesse in China, Taiwan en Hong Kong en wordt beschouwd als een echt luxegoed. De dradige, glutineuze soep wordt in deze landen geassocieerd met gastvrijheid, status en voorspoed. De prijs voor slechts één kom kan makkelijk 100 dollar bedragen. Het gerecht wordt dus vooral op speciale gelegenheden als verjaardagen en bruiloften geserveerd. Duur, wreed en verspillend: als dat niet genoeg is om haaienvinnensoep van het menu te bannen, lijkt het logisch dat de smaak een doorslaggevende factor moet zijn. Maar is dat wel het geval? Als we Gordon Ramsay in onderstaand filmpje moeten geloven, is net het omgekeerde waar.

One of the best Chinese/Japanese meals I have had outside of the far east. If you’re in the area I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Babi Pangang was quite okay but very salty, nasi had to be paid separately for €2 and what bothered me most was that the spring rolls were in a cardboard pastry box where the pastries are normally placed. One spring roll was stuck to the cardboard (with a blackened corner and fallen apart and with black bean sprouts inside) and both were actually floating in the frying oil. This really isn't possible. I will never order from here again!!

Super tasty food, I have become a regular customer ;)

Been ordering here for 6 years. The food is good, but I did not like the service last weekend. I ordered two steaks in black bean sauce including noodles and also a portion of noodles goreng. Normally the bami goreng contains an egg and 1 satay. This time they had somehow placed the satay and egg on the noodle containers that accompanied the steak in black beans. And they forgot the extra ordered bami goreng. Then I call about this and the lady on the phone indicates that this is not possible and they never do this and I don't know what else. She would send a new delivery person with the wrong bami goreng. The delivery person again comes with a small bowl of bami that comes with the steak and not the large bowl of bami goreng that I ordered. Ultimately I sent the delivery person away with the container he had brought; because how difficult is it? The food at your place is very tasty, but as a tip: if a customer is not satisfied or has a complaint, try to solve the problem and not say that the customer tells untruths and then comes up with the wrong things again upon delivery I won't order again and I think that's a shame.

Today I picked up Babi Pangang at Golden Bird. To my surprise I had to pay for the nasi separately at €2. A total of €16.50 was charged for this order, so I looked at the website where the same menu is priced at €15.50. I think this is a strange state of affairs and I don't know if I will get anything again.

Had a relaxing evening and a delicious all-you-can-eat meal. Service was very friendly. Sometimes some dishes were not to our liking and the service responded very kindly if we wanted a new portion. Maybe a little less professional than the big boys in the industry, but that doesn't matter to me. As long as the fish for the sushi is fresh and the dishes are tasty and well prepared and not too salty, the service is friendly and the acoustics and atmosphere are pleasant, we will have a nice evening.

It is faster to drive to China yourself. Waiting time is more than 45 minutes!!

Food tastes good, service pleasant, but the staff in the kitchen is absolutely not hygienic and leaves a lot to be desired. Forbid staff from smoking in the kitchen and from wearing appropriate chef's clothing. This is definitely not a professional restaurant at the moment. Do something with this before the Commodities Act visits you! The menu cannot be read on their website and if you want to order by telephone, some staff members are absolutely incomprehensible due to the language barrier. The menus have also become considerably more expensive, as have the delivery costs. Sorry but this is definitely not my favorite restaurant at the moment!!

Picked up 2 dishes on September 24, 2022. Tasted okay, but apparently something was wrong because the next day all three of us couldn't keep anything down. Severe stomach pain and just vomiting is very similar to food poisoning. Never going there again and will never get take out there again.

Net 2 loempia's gehaald. Totaal geen smaak aan. Gebeld en hun antwoord was dat klopt geen kruiden alleen taugé en een paar stukjes kip. Knap als je zo'n smakeloze loempia kan maken. Ze hadden ook loempia's met Valk? Misschien zit daar wel smaak aan maar het spreekt mij niet aan om Valk te eten Jammer was ooit een goede chinees

"the Food" was very tasty. Chicken and beef were very tender. Communication is a bit difficult.

Compare a setback with 2 years ago. Meat was tough. Sushi rice was cold as if everything had been stored in a refrigerator for a long time. This was always my favorite sushi spot! Unfortunately, things have deteriorated so much.

Staff were friendly, there was a complimentary uramaki from the chef. Enough parking space in front and on the right side of restaurant.

It was tasty but the price was not properly discussed.

I have placed the order following my friend’s recommendation but the food turned out to be disgusting. It was one of the worst experience I have ever had in my life.

Dish ordered with green curry, delivered with red curry. Steak very tough, ham in the large spring roll was sour. Calling the company: no recognition, no compensation, no solution, nothing at all.

After 10 years of being back in Amstelveen, I thought it would be a good idea to order a snack from my favorite Chinese. The place is completely unrecognizable (not good or bad, a matter of taste) but the food was unfortunately disappointing. Friendly service and food ready quickly.
