Okay sushi for a decent price but not legitimate sushi by any means. A lot of very westernized dishes so don't go here looking for traditional sushi.

Very relaxed spot by the water. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly and polite. Unfortunately, we also have to talk about the menu and the food. It feels quite outdated... what might have been innovative 20 years ago looks dated now. Square sushi, sushi with banana, and even fries on the menu... it didn't appeal to us at all. Additionally, the quality of the food was disappointing. Almost all the meat tasted the same, the fish was undercooked, and the mussels were very dry. Only the spicy beef tenderloin really stood out in terms of flavor. I can imagine this is a great place for larger groups or families, but if you like good and surprising food, this is not recommended in my opinion. For us, at least, it is not worth a repeat visit. Small point for improvement: the ladies' restroom was also very poorly lit.

39euro per adult for all you can eat Japanese cuisine. 5 rounds of order, 4 dish per order. The best shusi restaurant i have ever had in the Nederland. The place also provide billble drink, dish and alcohol. It is very closed by to Q-park parking space. Besides, the environment and service are also remarkable. Highly recommande to visit when you are in town. Ibwill definitely re-visit again.

Unfortunately, this was the worst sushi experience ever for us. The service was fine, but the food left a lot to be desired. The sushi rice was sticky, overcooked, and tasteless. Just like the other dishes. Everything was tasteless and clearly prepared without love. But I must also be honest, apparently the majority of Dutch people do like this tasteless food, because most of the reviews are good. As a chef, I am used to food that is deliciously seasoned and made with love and passion for the craft.

A good place for all you can eat Sushi, but prices might be a bit high.

We had initially ordered 2 portions of salmon and placed them on my daughter's plate. When the waiter brought the salt mill, it turned out not to be properly closed, causing the entire contents to spill all over the salmon. The dish was taken away to be reprepared. Subsequently, we received only one portion back instead of two, meaning we had to order more. To our surprise, four portions of salmon ultimately appeared on the bill, even though we only received and ate two. Although we pointed this out on the spot, the explanation remained unclear and, in our opinion, the matter was not handled correctly. Very unfortunate, as this resulted in an unpleasant end to the evening.

It's not the typical crowded and noisy Asian restaurant style; the overall ambiance is more of a "casual, slow-dining" type. 📱 After being seated, you can choose from two ordering options: One is traditional à la carte, suitable for those in a hurry or wanting a quick meal; The other is the popular Dutch "All You Can Eat" round system, where you can order up to four items per round, with a 10-15 minute interval between rounds, for a total of five rounds. This is more suitable for larger groups who can order and chat at their own pace. Both options involve ordering via QR code, making it very efficient. 🍣 The sushi, appetizers, and main courses are generally "small and refined." While the portions aren't large, there are virtually no truly disappointing dishes, indicating a consistently high-quality experience. This makes it more suitable for larger groups to order a variety of dishes and enjoy them at their own pace. 4.4/5 🥩 The lamb chops were the most delightful surprise of the day. The cooking was perfectly controlled, with a slightly charred exterior and tender interior, and the aroma was wonderful after seasoning. Considering the quality, it was excellent value for money. 4.6/5 🍱 Overall, this restaurant doesn't particularly strive for "traditional authentic Japanese cuisine," but rather leans towards a modern Asian fusion restaurant with a Dutch local flavor. It's a great choice for a relaxed getaway near the airport. 🌟 Overall rating: 4.5/5. Conveniently located near the airport, with a comfortable and stylish environment. The All You Can Eat model is perfect for group dining.

The location isn't very appealing, which detracts from the atmosphere, but the food more than makes up for it. It certainly satisfies those with a hearty appetite. The sushi boat looked good, but it was too much for the two of us, so we didn't order it. Ordering five rounds within two hours is doable, provided it isn't too busy. There is a lot to order and it is very varied. However, it would be helpful if the sweet dishes were indicated. The iced teas are also very tasty.

Enjoyed the sushi place yesterday 💪🏿👍🏿💯🔥. It was quiet (the upstairs was still closed), and we were able to choose a spot; in other words, the service was 👍🏿 just like the food. I feel like they really do something with negative reviews 😎💪🏿👍🏿.

The staff were very hospitable and also very child-friendly; it was nice and there was nothing to complain about! I found the food really disappointing and it is not worth the price you pay; it is truly ‘all you can eat’ food: low-quality meat, everything very greasy, no healthy options, and I feel there is little choice for small children. A shame.

All you can eat (in ~1.5 hours), so not really 'All You Can Eat'. In practice, you manage 2-3 rounds (out of 5). There is usually no time left for dessert or coffee. You are informed 30 minutes in advance that you 'have to' leave soon due to the arrival of the next reservation; very hospitable. The price/quality ratio is actually not good. The wait staff service is good / fast. The atmosphere is okay, although it can be noisy. Tables are often too small for the dishes. My preference goes to restaurant Bordeaux in Naarden. Maybe ten euros more expensive, but 3.5 hours of truly unlimited food and drink, and drinks included.

Decent sushi, but nothing more than that. It did miss a few of the well-known sushi rolls that you see at other restaurants. Four out of five times, the food was placed on the table without a word.

We dined with a group on a Monday evening in January. The restaurant was busy. You can eat all-you-can-eat with a 2-hour limit. The service is fast and friendly. The price-quality ratio is good. There are no particularly special items on the menu; everything is quite standard, but there is enough choice and the portions are decent.

Super good All you can eat, haven't eaten this well at an all you can eat restaurant in a very long time. The lamb chops are really of very good quality and the sushi is at the perfect temperature. Actually just downright great; you are also served very quickly after placing your order. I have no complaints.

Service was good everything went smooth nothing bad to say about that. But the grilled salomon was really not good. The colour was gray and had a funny taste, did not finish it. Loved the little steak pieces(biefstukjes). Prices were a at the higher end but we also had cocktails so overall good

The restaurant comes across as busy / noisy. The meat was cut into quite large pieces, which meant the taste wasn't very good. The staff served quickly and were very friendly and helpful.

It started well with a very friendly welcome, but that was the only truly positive thing. The food was very disappointing. The same dishes, which came in different rounds, varied greatly in quality and taste. One was far too salty, the other completely tasteless. The meat was much too tough and the chicken had no flavor. The sashimi did not taste fresh and the sushi was simply not special. The menu selection was very limited, and if the dishes aren't really good, you get bored quickly. During the last rounds, we also couldn't find any dishes we wanted to try. During the meal, the plate containing the sauce (for dipping) was taken away, and when we wanted to point this out to the employee, we received no response. All of this was pointed out to the lady who explained the concept to us when paying the bill. The response: "Oh, how annoying." Nothing more. We will not be going back.

The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, I have never eaten such a lame excuse for sushi. The first round was a complete failure, but I wanted to give them a chance. After tasting the second round, I decided not to eat any more. Sushi is one of my favorite meals. This is the first time in my life that I would rather go home and make a sandwich than eat it. Too bad.

Very tasty food with mostly good service. I found the atmosphere a bit difficult to fathom. The price-quality ratio is excellent, and with the hefty dishes, the maximum number of servings for one person would easily feed two people.

Terribly expensive, but if it was worth it, it's okay. Only the waitresses are friendly. If you bring a 1-year-old child who might eat two bites of rice, you pay €5. I asked for chopsticks and was asked if we were really going to use them, otherwise they wouldn't be allowed. When I asked if desserts were included, they said rolls were included. Ultimately, I had to pay extra at the cash register. Over €100 for a couple with a 1-year-old.

We went in the evening and at the designated time when you could order and choose your food with a fixed price. I remember that you could select 5 food items per person via the mobile app at the time of ordering, so you could order 4 items in total. But you pay extra for what you don't eat. It was an interesting experience, but also stressful. We were already a group that didn't like leaving food behind, but the possibility of the food being bad made us very nervous. We were more worried about being treated as if we were wasting food than about paying for it, and I remember paying around 40 euros, you just don't want to pay more.

I was always hesitant about trying raw fish and sushi. But this restaurant completely changed my mind. The quality of the food is outstanding, and everything tastes incredibly fresh and well-prepared. The sushi exceeded all my expectations and now it has become one of my favorite dishes. I think this is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Amstelveen, and maybe even in the Netherlands. Highly recommended!

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Amstelveen. Delicious food, the sesame balls are my favorite. All you can eat, high quality. Drinks are not included. The only downside is the price, which I find a bit high; otherwise, I would go there more often. Very atmospheric. There's also a menu in the afternoon, but I haven't tried that yet.

Beautiful restaurant, excellent food, but above all, very friendly and helpful staff. We came with a large group, and the staff remained patient and always smiling.

Yesterday, we were a group of 24 adults, 5 children, and 3 babies. We were celebrating Grandma's birthday. Her birthday is on Christmas Day. We were so happy to be welcomed to this restaurant to celebrate! The staff were incredibly friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and the children received a fun coloring kit. The food was delicious. Santa Claus even made a visit, there were fireworks, and we had singing with dessert! A fantastic party! We had a wonderful time at your beautiful restaurant! The sushi was much better last time. It seemed fresher. Plenty on the menu, but not a huge selection. On the one hand, it was fine. Friendly staff.

First of all, it's a really lovely place, with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and good service. A few of my favorites: the squid, lamb, kimchi, and of course, the sushi.

All you can eat sushi. Very delicious and service is very fast. Location is very convenient. At the last stop of tram 5.

We used to eat here regularly. Now, after a while, we're back again. The first round was very tasty. After that, the quality really deteriorated. The tuna was truly awful. It tasted like soapy water.

I spontaneously chose Kokusai for a sushi date. To my surprise, the service was incredibly fast and the staff were very friendly. I'm no sushi pro, but it was definitely delicious! The atmosphere was also really nice. We couldn't make a reservation online anymore, but the ladies at the reception desk were very helpful. Of the five rounds you could order, we could have used four, but we barely finished the last one. We were completely full! Very satisfied and definitely worth going back! 👌🏻✨

I go once a month, and have been for a year now. It maintains its standard and quality over time, something hard to find these days.

I went there 2 weeks ago along with my wife and a visitor from abroad. Since my wife is vegan, she didn’t want to have the all you can eat menu but just to choose some options from the à la carte menu. At this point the waiter told us that we can either all have the unlimited menu or all of us go for à la carte. He also explained that we can sit in separate tables if we want different menus. His reasoning was that my wife might eat from our unlimited menu and they won’t know it. We were shocked by the lack of trust and rude hospitality and went away without ordering anything. Don’t open a restaurant if you can’t trust and be nice to your customers.

Absolutely the worst “all-you-can-eat” experience I’ve ever had. The duck breast was spoiled, the chicken tasted old and not fresh at all, and the small octopus wasn’t cleaned properly — there was slimy residue inside that was honestly disgusting. I ordered the first round and left. Not worth the money at all! You should at all cost avoid this restaurant.

The food was delicious! I especially love the ebi tempura.. My friend who's vegetarian also enjoyed it and had plenty of dishes to choose from. It was busy, but in a good way, and the service was superb. I'll definitely be back!

Great restaurant, the food comes quickly. The food is good value for money. Plenty of parking.

Went their on a weekday. The server at the gate was rude to start with. My husband said good evening and table for 2. He did not hear the greeting and passed a sarcastic comment of “we say good evening”. The food use to be very good now it’s like mediocre quality. My husband vomitted at the end of the meal. Price is not justified either. The servers are just not into their jobs. We asked for extra wasabi and it did not arrive until we left. Disappointing experience!!!

Not a kid-friendly restaurant. They had added my two-year-old toddler to their table as an adult. As if a little one is going to eat five times, one portion will be too much. Luckily, I realized it right away, even after I indicated three adults and a toddler. The waiter was like, "Okay, I'll take the single portion off, but when I see the little one is eating too, I'll add him back." OUTRAGEOUS. I'll never go there again, even though I've been a customer for at least the past 15 years.

Great location for all-you-can-eat sushi. Very large, but it doesn't immediately feel that way. The sound is quite loud. The lighting is dimmed throughout.

We ate here yesterday afternoon. The staff were unfriendly. We couldn't get a table by the window, but we managed to get one after we insisted. After that, we were given a lot of strange looks. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good either. The sushi wasn't fresh, it wasn't tasty at all. Other dishes were also very disappointing. I wouldn't eat here again.

Always great at Kokusai. Fast, fresh, and consistently high quality. The sushi is super fresh, the hot dishes are delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient, even when it's busy. Everything runs smoothly.

First and last time. We booked for 5 hours, arrived a bit late, about 10 minutes, and then you sit down, settle in, and decide what you want to drink. Before we even ordered our first round, we'd apparently already lost half an hour of our time. They work with two-hour time slots, so if you're late, that also deducts from your time. They do manage to serve everything on time, and the waitress was friendly. But it's a real gluttony, with absolutely no time for a chat or to enjoy your drink. The rounds are served so quickly it's practically food-related. The fish is fine, but the meat is bone dry. I left all the meat I ordered; I couldn't eat it. Half an hour beforehand, they tell you you still have half an hour left. This prevents you from enjoying your evening out in peace. They want you gone as quickly as possible to seat the next person. I was surprised they didn't send us away just yet, as our two hours were already up. We didn't have dessert or coffee because it felt more like they wanted us gone. A bad experience, and we'll never do it again.

Not much variety foods, overrated, high price. They bring me to cold miso soup. I didn't like nothing. I won't go again.

Smoked eel sushi is from another dimension

They serve gluten free sushi on the paper but serve normal sushi in reality! I am not mentioning contamination in here. When I realized crunchy parts and asked if this is gluten free or not, I learned that every course that I served was normal sushi, not gluten free. And the answer is "this may happen in kitchens as big as theirs". This was not acceptable. Why did I choose in the glutenfree menu then.

When we visited this restaurant ,we almost loved everything there. First of all, food were fresh and ofcourse very tasty, secondly I liked atmosphere there- sometging warm attracted me, thirdly servise was very good- food were coming quickly. We tried diffent types of sushies ,later we ordered meat food also (I forgot to take a photos). We were satisfied . I recommend this place

I've been coming here for years. A regular, so to speak, but I was really put off today. First, there was a piece of blue plastic in my shrimp. The owner agreed it must have been the scallions and apologized. As compensation, I got the shrimp again. 😂 That's like bullying the customer, sorry. And that from an experienced restaurant owner. I would have at least offered the customer a drink on the house. Then I found a hair from one of the waitresses on my plate. And they allow dogs in the restaurant. As for hygiene and hospitality, you won't be coming here again. Kokusai is done for and I'll be advising others against it as well.

I find the cost of all you can eat very expensive if you are an average eater.

Went on evening with fixed price menu offer but weren’t that hungry so manager agreed to al a carte menu which was much appreciated. Extensive meal choice and all dishes were quick to serve, fresh and tasty. Good choice. Restaurant is large and very busy which is a good indicator for us.

The concept is as follows: There are five rounds, and you can order four dishes per person. The options are very rich, including sushi, meat, chicken, duck, shrimp, squid, etc. Overall, I can say it's delicious.

I've had mixed experiences at this restaurant. Today the food was delicious and fresh. The service was good and fast, friendly, and helpful. Those QR menus are driving me crazy, but luckily they still had a physical list I could order from. It's always a handy option to sit down and have some snacks. You can sit inside and outside, and there's a downstairs and upstairs area. I was hungry, so unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the food, only the dessert.

This is THE best sushi restaurant ever. I have visited quite a few others since most of my family loves sushi. No, no other to consider, even as option. This is the ONE. I am a regular customer. Started going to the restaurant since it opened. Went through quite a few changes but always kept the qauility and the service at the highest level. Even with deliveries during C time. Very friendly service. Great food. From time to time it gets crowded but if you reserve up front you will have no issue.

Superb restaurant. The all you can eat offer is very generous, we only managed 4 out of the 5 rounds. Sushi quality is fantastic and there are great options for small children too. Lovely atmosphere, laid back vibe.

Food is mediocre, all you can eat style, stupendously expensive and unpleasant barrage of plates served by tired staff. Food is there but culture, joy, enjoymemt is subtracted from the experience.

Glory days are over. Kokusai has changed too much into a lightning fast sushi factory. The staff throws the sushi on the table with great feeling, puts the plates on the edge of the table, almost pushes the tray in your face and expects you to take everything, reorganize and clean up. It is true that the sushi is on the table very quickly and the quality of the sushi is good, but I cannot help but feel that the staff has to work under great pressure. Not pleasant for the customer and does not improve the atmosphere. On two occasions, large piles of plates fell to the ground, which made a deafening noise. This was not the case in the past, when it was much more relaxed and quiet.

First time here. Concept fairly similar to La Cubanita, 't Zusje. You order via QR code via App. In terms of taste and neatness of serving, it's fine. But still a feeling of not being completely satisfied. What's the problem? Although the place is large and neat, it is very noisy. Does that make that feeling not quite right? No, because you order via an App, max. 4 dishes per person per round, makes it messy. At what point then? Well, when serving. We were in a setting of five people. That means max. 5x4 dishes on your table per round. When serving, hardly anything was said or incomprehensibly about what exactly was what. That can and should be better. It was just a gamble now. And that's fine if everyone likes everything. As soon as someone doesn't like something or is even allergic to something, it becomes an annoying gamble. The price-quality ratio is good though. There is room for improvement simply in the service provided.
