Had a wonderful evening upstairs. Very nice and friendly service from a young man who kept a very professional eye on everything. Had delicious local asparagus with rack of lamb, along with mouthwatering starters. Located on the Vrijthof in Hilvarenbeek, a really nice place to visit for delicious food in a Burgundian atmosphere.

Great food in a cozy atmosphere. We sat upstairs; a table by the window is nice. The service is friendly and fast.

We had a delicious meal on Tuesday evening. Relaxed atmosphere, I could easily bring my 7-month-old daughter along, and the staff were super sweet and helpful.

Oosters trio very well seasoned and tasty. Did not expect eendenborst to be cold but it was still delicious. Broodplankje custom butter very tasty and bread of high quality. Main dish meat extremely well seasoned and high quality meat. Chicken satay juicy and well-made peanut sauce. Service level high with a team that rotates responsibilities well. If you want to eat in this town you are definitely missing out if you did not try this place. Presentation also top notch

Pleasantly surprised 😲. The outdoor terrace was comfortable (bench and cushions), and as a bonus, the lovely waitress turned on the gas heater 🔥 Just perfect as it was only 10°C (50°F). I just had a small aperitif since it was only 11 am 😁!! An Amaretto "Sour" 🥃 *Amaretto, fresh lemon juice 🍋, sugar syrup, 1 egg white 🥚 (for the foam), and ice cubes 🧊🧊🧊 P.S.: I had a second one 😅

Very tasty Ribeye! Perfectly cooked on the grill. The homemade cowboy butter is finger-licking good. Despite the large party (12 people), the waiting time was very acceptable and everything was served at the same time. Very friendly staff. Actually, this restaurant is simply worthy of 5 stars, because there is just nothing to fault...

Great location! Great food! Great service! Absolutely nothing to complain about, the rib eye with mushrooms was top-notch and the scroppino for dessert is highly recommended!

It certainly wasn't due to a lack of friendliness on the part of the staff! Compliments! We did find it striking that the kitchen closed so early. Even before 8 pm. Unfortunately, the meat on the charcuterie board was still cold on the inside and really raw. And the fish in the soup was even tougher than chicken. We did mention this, but were unexpectedly in a bit of a rush and so left it at that, although the staff were happy to resolve the issue. We might give this restaurant another chance, but this visit was a bit disappointing.

Gezellig looks beautiful inside. Warm and cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Definitely recommended if you are in Hilvarenbeek. I will certainly stop by again when I am in Hilvarenbeek.

I was pleasantly surprised. Normally, cafe menus are quite safe and standard, with dishes like spareribs, tenderloin, chicken skewers, and fries. Fortunately, that wasn't the case here. The chefs dared to make different choices and offered some more unique dishes. This definitely makes a visit worthwhile, especially for guests who want to try something new. There was also a seasonal menu with beautiful and tasty options. The food was good and beautifully presented, because the eye wants something too. I think hardly any ready-made ingredients or ingredients were used; the food tasted clearly homemade. The portions were sufficient, but not overly generous. All dishes arrived at the same time for a table of five, which was nice. The service was very good and attentive. The waiters were welcoming and enthusiastic. We paid €66 per person for a three-course à la carte menu including drinks.

It's okay, the food is nothing special. It's time for a different menu. The staff is very friendly, though.

We've been coming here for years. Always a great atmosphere, both on the patio and inside, and the staff are very friendly. Excellent food. A top-notch restaurant. It really puts Hilvarenbeek on the map.

We have been coming here since the wonderful lunch on our wedding anniversary in September 2012 and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food and hospitality.

Pushy staff You walk in and don't even have time to take off your coat and they ask what you want to drink. You can't even look at the menu. They come to your table every five minutes to ask if you want another drink. Terrible. Even after you've finished eating, you feel like you're being watched. It's getting worse every week, such a shame.

We had a delicious lunch at Grand Café de Zwaan. We had a goat cheese salad and a variety of fish platters. Truly delicious. The service was good and friendly. We also had four Coke Zeros and a latte, totaling €55—a fair price for good food and excellent service.

The grilled picanha was very tough; my wife couldn't even finish a large portion. If you Google "picanha," you're promised a tender piece of meat, but these two were far from it. After complaining to the friendly staff, we were given one picanha free. That might be reasonable, but it wasn't a pleasant evening.

I regularly go there with my dad, to the patio. The service is SUPER NICE, and you get served quickly.

We had to wait a long time because reservations weren't possible on the day itself. So, we recommend making a reservation at least one day in advance. The food was fantastic. I had the tournedos. It was incredibly tender. My wife had the sirloin steak. Same story. The lady blanching was good. Homemade ice cream. Just not enough chocolate sauce. Otherwise, we had a wonderful evening. The staff was super friendly.

I had dinner at Grand-Café de Zwaan a while back. I had shrimp in yellow curry sauce as a starter, delicious tender spare ribs as a main course, and white chocolate and strawberry mousse for dessert. As always, it was delicious, and they have a completely gluten-free and lactose-free menu. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful lunch on a Saturday afternoon. A lovely spot outside on the terrace, quiet, and exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious, the sticky chicken was literally finger-licking good, and portions were unlike anything you've ever seen: generous. And the latte, just as it should be.

It's nice that you can eat gluten-free there.

The food was delicious, I definitely recommend the salmon fillet with tagliatelle, I will definitely come back here again.

Good stay there. Called and asked if we could sit outside. Reservations outside are not allowed, I understand that. Once we arrived we were able to sit outside, but someone from the service told us that an even nicer spot had become available at the front. Now that's hospitality. Just good staff which is rare these days. Food was also very good.

We arrived late on Easter Monday having stay at the Beeks beegen safari hotels. We had tried two other restaurants and unfortunately they were closed. We fell upon this restaurant and the people who worked there could not have been more polite, friendly, accommodating and helpful. We had steaks and the children had chicken and fries with salad. All of our food was as beautiful even though they had closed their kitchen. They offered us a photograph of us as a souvenir from our trip and have the children a chocolate Easter bunny. I cannot thank them or recommend them enough. What a beautiful surrounding and beautiful people. X

Nice place, good food. I had a camembert starter, which I expected something different from. It was quite big. I would rather make a few small bites of this. But tastes differ. It tasted good, but I couldn't finish it by a long shot. The service was great, everyone was nice and knowledgeable. When we went to pay we had a chat. And held the door open for us. Really great service. Will definitely come back again!

De Zwaan is a very nice place for a drink or a delicious meal. I sat here with my wife and mother-in-law and all three had a wonderful time. The staff are extremely friendly, the atmosphere is very warm and the food and drinks are really excellent. This is definitely recommended to go for a nice drink or a delicious meal.

We ate here 4 times over 2 days as loved it that much! Fab coffee and pastries on a morning, and absolutely delicious dinner. The yellow Thai curry was up there with the best, great satay chicken, and amazing mango cheesecake. Super toasties in the daytime. Friendly and efficient service and dog friendly too. Good value, great atmosphere in a lovely village setting. Highly recommend.

After a tour we arrived in Hilvarenbeek on a Monday evening. We ordered something nice to drink and a snack. Later that evening we wanted something from the menu, actually the kitchen was already closed but she still wanted to make something. I ordered a cheese board and it was truly delicious.

We had dinner here with 3 girls and felt very comfortable. The food (2 x salad with fish and 1x spare ribs) was super delicious 😋. The service was on point, nice and friendly. So highly recommended!

Be careful they are NOT serving burgers well done. That's red. And they will tell you that the meat is the kind that can't be well done and always served red. Service is good but to a point. To avoid is my advice if you want a well down red meat.
