Delicious food as a warm-up for the 5-year Forum Groninger party. Spaghetti di Mare and Tiramisu were fantastic!

Very tasty meal. Pre-made bruschetta, fresh tomatoes, garlic and basil. A bit too crispy bread, but tasty. Main course Amatriciana with excellent spaghettini. Dolci, chosen for the Cannoli alla siciliana. Crispy and deliciously filled. Accompanied with Nero del Salento fine red wine.

Fue muy bueno, sin duda recomiendo! El personal era muy amable y no tenías que esperar tanto tiempo para que tu pedido estuviera listo! WOW

We had bruschetta and pane tricolore as starters. The pane with three types of pesto was particularly delicious. For the main course we had carbonara and spaghetti with black pepper. Both extremely tasty!!! We reserved online the evening before, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten a place.

Experience to FORGET! As a true Italian I can say with extreme certainty that this Italian place has only the owner, grumpy, unprofessional and not attentive to customers. While we were eating our carbonara (terrible), in the middle of the completely empty place, he ate with us behind the counter with his mouth open, amidst noise and dirt and then came to serve us the dishes. Bacon and egg? Lots of cream and little "burnt bacon". But the worst is that I found a hair on the inside of the plate, inside the pasta and he was even able to counter by asking where it was because they hadn't found it in the kitchen. He takes the dish back, I wait 4 minutes, the carbonara that came back was simply re-fried in the pan and then served again. It had become an omelette. Really poor wine for the price paid (35 euros), at most it will have cost 3 euros. In Italy there are other good wines. At the time of the bill, despite having paid by card, he asked me if he had to write a receipt and in the end he decided on his own, no receipt. We will never return. I advise all true Italians to avoid this place, because the food is not good. Rejected!

As an Italian, I can say with certainty that there is no restaurant comparable to Gustatio for those looking for authentic and extraordinary pasta. It is by far the best place to enjoy the true taste of home. The staff, entirely Italian, is that special touch that makes the experience even more authentic and welcoming. I've been going back there every time I can for three years now, and not just for the goodness of the dishes: the quality of the products they use is unparalleled, so much so that I struggle to find it even in Italy. Na een avondje uit eten hadden we nog trek in iets zoets. Naast dat de service top was en de bediening supervriendelijk, is dit de lekkerste bubble tea die ik ooit heb gehad! Voor het eerst een kiwi green tea geprobeerd en op aanraden van het meisje achter de bar ook de cherry poppings. Erg lekker! Maar de mango green tea van mijn vriend was misschien nog wel lekkerder. Wij komen hier zeker snel terug!

The food was amazing, I will definitely come back. I am a little anti chocolate chunks in tiramisu but the pasta was so good I don't even care.

Cosy and very well-illuminated restaurant. The service can be a bit slow but the floor staff are incredibly considerate, accommodating and compensating. However, the four stars are due to the food. The tagliatelle was very tasty. However, the pasta alla norma was quite bland and poor in ingredients (i.e., I struggled to find the pieces of aubergine and I was expecting the ricotta cheese to be more visible). Not sure if my disappointment was due to this pasta dish being in the list of the classic dishes - which are usually more basic, compared to the tagliatelle, which was considered a special dish. Regardless, the pasta is well-cooked Al dente. The desserts were okay. However, we have tried better cannoli, with a more crunchy outside. They should probably reduce the portion to just one cannolo as it is quite filling.

Unfortunately not up to a 4⭐️ I had tagliatelle bolognese, they were super dry and lacked taste as if the sauce was from the day before. The service is also a little strange, we don't feel welcome, not to mention the bread which costs €3 and comes wet then reheated…

We go as a family, we go for lonely planet. The place is discreet, the pasta is correct and the attention received is fair. The vongole pasta was too spicy for our taste. I understand that you could find another Italian food restaurant with more soul and joy in the treatment and in the food.

Today we had for the first time dinner here and were very excited for it. Unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointing experience because of the staff who basically kicked us out after 1,5h even if we made a 2h reservation from 18:30 for dinner. We wanted to finish our drinks and their answer was just that we have to go because more people are coming.

We loved it here! It was the best italian food we had so far. Service was great. I forgot my bag and they called me to let me know. We plan to visit again when we're in Groningen!

Italian restaurant, with various tasty dishes. The building is quite small, which makes it quite cramped. I would also recommend making a reservation here as it is often full. The food was fine, as was the service. Nice for once, but wouldn't go there again anytime soon.

Authentic italian food. Simple ingredients but of high quality, and well put together to make an experience worth every euro spent. My personal favourite is the Carbonara which is made very well and they even use guanciale which is amazing. Creamy and perfect. Staff is also friendly. You can tell it's a great place because other Italians come to eat here, you would never see them at a place serving non traditional food as they would just make it themselves! My only criticism of the food is the Bruschetta. It tastes great but its really quite hard and a bit tough to eat. Top marks otherwise.

Mediocre white wine, but in balance with the price. The glassware has been in the dishwasher too many times and the menu is very well-thumbed. Apparently something was wrong with the cook when we were there, because the starter and main course had to be ordered at the same time 'because of the cook'. The food (pasta carbonara) was mediocre at best. The pasta was almost en dente. The sauce was too salty for my taste. The egg yolk lay thinly under the pasta. Mehh. The staff was very friendly but not clearly recognizable because they do not wear catering clothing here. It wasn't very expensive. But it wasn't very good either. A three(-)

Very good pastas! Each one delicious. Portion size just right. Staff also friendly. The decoration could be a bit more cozy, it's just like in Italy😉 Please note that the water is not tap water and you therefore have to pay for it. This was not clear to us and our waiter therefore took it off the bill, service! We enjoyed it, would love to come again.

We were in the restaurant for lunch as we were visiting Groningen. There were pasta dishes that were excellent. The service was very friendly and we felt very comfortable. There are smaller portions for children at a very fair price. Highly recommended, it was fun.

I mean no disrespect but the food was average at best. It’s okay, but given the other reviews, I seriously wonder. The mozzarella and tomatoes first dish was blank. Having only the mozzarella and a bit of olive oil+basilic is great when the raw product is good but it really wasn’t. Tagliatelle al Ragu, okay. Not the signature dish I was expecting. Wine on the glass: cavi was really good, primitivo not at all. The service was great and very friendly. But if I knew what I know now, I would have eaten elsewhere.

I am writing this after giving the one start as a reply. 1. did you take a moment to consider is not the same hour every where in the world? 2. your arrogance and "know it all" behaviour is one of the many reasons. scrolling down the reviews, i I have seen how incapable of criticism you are. this is where i speak my mind, a free platform that I can share my experience even without words. this snarky and sarcastic tone is present in all your replies. Im very sure instead of taking the criticism you will come up with another arrogant reply. and why do you even care? you don't care why I am soooo dissatisfied with the existence of this restaurant. I can see that based on how you handled the other criticising comments. can't wait your rude and sarcastic just like you did for every 1 star comment.

Wow! From now on, when someone asks me where the best Italian food is in Groningen, I will say it is at Gustatio. Well prepared al dente, quick service, authentic taste, good wine. It's just a shame that there are only a few vegan options. But hey, if they are this tasty, it's worth a visit for me! The desserts are also very full of flavour. The inside is not particularly cozy, but it is of course in a super central location.

We had the bruschetta, the tagliatelle al ragù and the sedani al salmone. For dessert we had the pannacotta. All were delicious!! The staff was very friendly. 10/10 would recommend!

I was excited to try this place as it is very highly reviewed and seems to always be booked up. Unfortunately, I wasn't a huge fan of the cacio e pepe I ordered. It may have just been my own misunderstanding of the dish, but it was very, very salty. I've had cacio e pepe before in other places, and it's usually not quite so salty. However the servers were really nice and the tiramisu was good.

Nice place, also because there are many gluten-free options. The food was delicious! Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding, which resulted in us receiving an extra dish. Food was basically Italian; made as good as I could do at home. Nothing bad but not Michelin star grade as the restaurant advertises. Place is very small with little staff; so things are slow.

Best authentic Italian food in town.

We enjoyed it immensely. Bruschetta incredibly delicious. The burrata caprese incredibly delicious! We had a pasta frutti di mare which was really delicious, the flavors were perfect and the spaghettini was cooked as it should be al dente! Compliments to the chef. The service had everything under control and did its job well. Nice staff! Good atmosphere. Definitely recommended if you know what's tasty.

A really successful evening began here. The service is very friendly and attentive. We had a very tasty starter and the pasta tasted really good. Really good ingredients are selected here and everything tastes super fresh

We visited Gustatio restaurant as a group of 5 persons on 22/2/24. Initially the reservation was for 4 persons at 19:30, but when we changed it to 5 persons the restaurant obliged us to come at 17:30. Finally they gave us a table for 4 persons where they had "crammed" an extra couvert. At the entrance we were greeted by the person in charge who was abrupt and unpleasant. He informed us that we only have 90 minutes to stay in the restaurant. The food came very quickly giving to all of us the feeling of an expensive fast food. At the end of the dinner the waiter announced us that we cannot order a certain dessert because it takes 20 minutes to be prepared and we didn't have enough time. Conclusion: the food quite good but by no means value for money. Bill: 197 Euros... As per the portions they make happy all the neighboring oriental restaurants. Decor and atmosphere: Cold and colorless. Represents fully, to my opinion, the style of the person in charge. As for the Michelin stars you see at the entrance, 3 days later I'm still laughing

Already ate at Gustatio for the second time. Again very tasty, typically Italian. They know the art of preparing tasty dishes with few ingredients.

The food was good, but unfortunately the service was sub-par. Upon entering we had to wait about 20 minutes for a server to take our drinks, and after the main meal it took another 30 minutes before we got our drinks, which we declined. This service is really unacceptable and really needs to improve.

Really delicious food. Fresh pasta!!!! Definitely recommended and nice and small. The tiramisu is honestly the tastiest I've ever had. They said it is a family recipe.

Very late review, but i have to give this feedback. Everything was nice regarding Service and Place, the only problem was food the amount of salt used was incredible at the end of the day i wasn't feeling very well. I hope this was a one time mistake kitchen did. If i will pass by sometime i will defiantly try it out again and update my feedback if improvements will be made. Good luck :)

Amazing restaurant, everything tastes really fresh and you can clearly tell the pasta was homemade! Very good prices considering that it is a Michelin awarded restaurant. Will definitely come back for seafood pasta. — Okay; I’ll admit, I came back a third time, even though I was not entirely happy with my pasta the second time. I will change the review as (1) the response to my former review was honest and (2) yesterday’s pasta Gricia & Gnocchi alla Sorrentina were delicious. Tiramisu probably the best I’ve ever eaten and good portion. All in all, Gustatio is a great experience.

It broke my heart to make negative comments about Gustatio since I have been a big fan over the years and have dined there many times without any major problems. Unfortunately my last visit was not so good and I have to give feedback fairly. The spaghetti with clams I had as main course was too hard and could see it's uncooked inside. I know what Al Dente tastes like and that was not it, it was just under cooked. Surprisingly it was the first time I had a problem there. I kindly told the owner and he said he will change it. But he gave me back the same pasta after re-boiling it instead of making a new one which was very easy. Nope the pasta was still no good and surely did not taste right anymore as a whole. Then I decided to order another pasta and make no further request. The owner did not ask me if there was anything wrong when I made another main course order, took away a full plate. But the issue came 5 mins later, he said to me Sorry you had time till 20:00 (we started at 18:30) and I need the table for another booking so.... Then I explained that my first pasta I couldn't eat and now I would like another pasta as my dinner, is that not possible? His facial expression said it all. I ended up telling him to forget about my new order and we paid the bill, good thing is he did not charge my main course. Be aware that we never asked him to not charge the first pasta when I made the second order either. We were willing to pay as long as I could have a proper plate of meal. That was not granted sadly. I then went to eat ramen in the end. I have not visited any Italian restaurant (in the Netherlands or in Italy) that would re-boil the same pasta 🤔🙃 especially if pasta is literally what you only make and should do well. How much does it cost to freshly cook new pasta? Also instead of trying to make a wrong right to customers that are regulars, he'd rather have our table ready for someone else. That logic I do not understand. Nevertheless I want to emphasize that it is the first time I had problems with their food. The reaction from them was just very unfortunate. As a result, they may lose two loyal diners....

Great food and service! The pasta is clearly homemade and well-cooked. The only thing I didn't like is that they made us pay for tap water, and 3€ for frozen bread (which was reheated). I would definitely recommend this place, but I think the owners should decrease the price of bread, and make tap water free.

We left feeling disappointed after our meal at gustatio, the food was nice but the service could be so much better, we felt ignored by the staff and kept having to get their attention to order, even though it was not busy. They didn't ask if everything was OK or if we wanted to order more drinks, etc. Just felt like they didn't really care that we were there, we wanted to order dessert but was waiting too long, which is a shame.

Honestly a wonderful experience coming here with my partner and would love to come back again. We had the tricolore antipasti where the genovese pesto and sun dried tomato spread were extremely flavorful and aromatic. The main dishes we had were off of the specials and also were incredibly flavorful and melt in your mouth texture with the freshly made pasta. The only issue was that both of the main dishes we had were a bit over salted. If the dishes were slightly less salty it would have been by far the best authentic pasta experience I've had in the Netherlands. Very close to being perfect, would highly reccomend this place to others.

Heerlijk voorgerecht, toetje en koffie gehad. Niet de standaard die je gewend bent. Je wordt in die zin culinair verrast. De hoofdgerechten vielen bij iedereen aan tafel een beetje tegen. Argumenten waren saai, smaakloos of erg gewoontjes. Daar valt nog wat te winnen. Het was niet slecht, maar vergeleken met de erg goede voor- en nagerechten viel het hoofdgerecht in het niet.

First things first, I am disappointed. I heard a lot of good stuff about the restaurant in advance, but I can barely agree on it. The food was okay/good but definitely not outstanding or fantastic. The portion was small but nonetheless quite expensive and - as already said - not outstanding. We had Gnocci with squit and Tortellini with goat cheese, maybe the classic dishes are the true gem here or maybe it was a bad day, but our experience was nothing special and after all the good stuff I heard, really disappointing. It's far away from being the best italian restaurant in Groningen but maybe it is the most expensive.

Heerlijke pasta carbonara gegeten. Verdienen 5 sterren als de prijs van de wijn zou zakken. Goed Italiaans restaurant zonder pizza's. Vriendelijke bediening.

Gustatio, gezellige plek en aardig personeel. Helaas was het hoofdgerecht, pasta carbonara te zout. Dit hebben we ook aangegeven bij het personeel en hopelijk doen ze er wat aan. We gingen namelijk helaas met buikpijn de tent uit.

Popped in for late lunch around 2pm no reservation. It was quite busy but we managed to get a table. Food was excellent service was good. Great little lunch spot

Het eten is heerlijk!!!!! Authentieke Italiaanse keuken! Met vijf mensen zaten we krap ( twee hadden echt last van hun ruggen) al weten we dat er een tijdsbestek van 2 uur is, was het op het laatst wel een gevoel: we moeten weg, want andere mensen staan te wachten.

This is such an authentic place and they are suuuper dedicated to quality. Their dishes are as close as one can get to perfection. I’d go as far as to say there isn’t another place quite like it in the country, but they have one in Amsterdam too :)

The food was oke and fresh but did not amaze me. In 1hr sitting there we only had the appetizer and the place was so warm it was not comfortable, on the contrary. Also no waiter asked us how the food was and seemed slow in cleaning plates/table. Defenitly not 5 stars, was doubting between 3 and 4.

We had a really great time. Everything was absolutely delicious and Nico our main man was super kind and helpful. Will definitely come back next time we're in Groningen

Mijn tagliatelle bolognese was erg smaakloos en droog, ik miste ook de saus, het leek op droge tagliatelle met een beetje smaak. mijn vriend zijn lasange was ook niet echt wauw, we hadden hoge verwachtingen na alle michelin sterren. Helaas....
