Absolutely delicious food in a gorgeous place. We went on a Wednesday and it wasn’t crowded at all. Food arrived quickly and it was probably the best pasta I’ve had in months. Outstanding quality, I could seriously have eaten three dishes in a row. The tiramisu was also great. Service was really friendly. Will come back!

Mixed experience! Wanted to eat pasta cacio e pepe in my neighborhood so decided to try Gustatio. As a starter, we had filled calamari, which tasted fine but was not cleaned well and we had pieces of skin that we had to take out of our mouths. We ate it anyway, and we notified the waiter. We didn’t get something to compensate it, either money or a complimentary drink, which should be. The focaccia was really great. Pasta cacio e pepe was a 7,5 out of 10 and pasta alla Norma was a 7 out of 10. Tiramisu was tasting very good, but why were there chocolate drops inside?? For the price, I would probably go to another restaurant next time or make it at home myself.

Ik zeg er zijn talloze Italiaanse restaurtants in Amsterdam. Laat deze maar zitten Wij zaten op de begane grond nét achter de voordeur. Het was nogal fris. De staf spreekt geen Nederlands en matig Engels. Communicatie was daardoor nogal lastig. Staf leek ook totaal ongeïnteresseerd. Een medewerker ontkurkte een fles champagne of iets. Ik werd nog nét niet geraakt door de kurk die dwars door de zaak schoot. Daar werd nauwelijks op gereageerd en ekskuses was al helemaal niet aan de orde. Door de lastige communicatie was het ook moeilijk om duidelijk te maken wat of er gebeurd was. Bij het uitgebreide voorgerecht waren een paar smeerseltjes. Zou beter gesmaakt hebben met gewone foccacia of ander gewoon witbrood. Wij kregen het met foccacia met ui (ook lekker maar niet geschikt voor smeerseltjes).

The best Italian restaurant I experienced during my 2 years in Amsterdam. Self-made pasta with very original dishes like from chefs table I could never ever cook for myself. The host make you feel like home and the atmosphere is like you are in Rome.

Het eten was ruim voldoende, en de wijn was goed. De bediening daarentegen was afstandelijk; het waren geen echte horecatijgers die hun vak met passie en liefde beoefenen. Door de enorme drukte onderweg waren wij 20 minuten later dan gepland. Onze tafel was daardoor vergeven, waardoor we met vijf personen aan een tafel voor vier werden geplaatst. Omdat we dachten dat onze gasten al naar binnen waren gegaan, hebben we niet gebeld om te laten weten dat we later waren. Maar andersom zijn wij ook niet gebeld. De manier waarop dit verwijtend aan ons werd meegedeeld, was allesbehalve gastvrij. Dit zorgde ervoor dat de avond voor ons niet best begon, en ik moest me hier echt overheen zetten. Helaas werd dat gevoel gedurende de avond niet verbeterd door een gevoel van gastvrijheid, vriendelijkheid of enthousiasme. Zonde, voor ons en ook voor het restaurant. We eten regelmatig in de buurt, zijn al vaak langs dit restaurant gelopen, maar het was er nooit van gekomen om hier te eten. Na deze ervaring zullen we echter niet meer langs dit restaurant lopen met het idee: “Hier moeten we echt nog eens heen, wat was dat een leuke avond. Tip, vriendelijk maakt alles leuker, dan kan je zelfs fouten maken

Great service! Great vibes. Good selection of wine. Homemade focaccia is really good. Pasta is also nice. Although I don’t like there is chocolate chips inside the Tiramisu. And the bread under the spicy salami is a bit soggy.

Nice place with tasty food! A bit pricey, generally more expensive than similar places in Amsterdam with similar quality of food. But I still liked it and I think the gnocchi here were the best I had in Amsterdam

Had dinner in the restaurant tonight. Quite a disappointment regarding the service. We were placed in a dirty table although he had a reservation(we even asked them to clean the table, they hadn't done it) The appetiser was served first even though we didn't receive the cutlery and our drinks. The food was OK, nothing special. I have visited Italy multiple times and the vibe was certainly NOT Italian.

Very friendly waiter and informative some more. Food was fine in general, maybe a bit salty and the noodle a little hard for me? The rest is quite good. Clean toilet too!

Very strange how this place has so many positive reviews but was such a letdown for us. We first sat near the door to a table that was not even ready for our reservation when we arrived. Later we order a bottle of wine to the waitress. After 20 minutes no wine and no one there to take the order. Then the lady comes and says perhaps you would like to move to another table. We were happy about it and thought oh maybe now we will get more attention. But no. The bottle of wine never arrived so we told them just bring 2 glasses of wine. The appetizers arrived before the drinks. Cutlery was served after food and the drinks. The mains arrived after 45 minutes. The food was ok but nothing wow as someone who loves loves Italy and travels there a lot yearly. The waiters didnt even really care to check on you. A good service can save a bad plate but a good plate of food cant save a really bad service. Oh and please dont use the excuse we are understaffed or its the first day at work for an employee. I dont care, I go to the restaurant to enjoy my food and the atmosphere 🤪

We ALWAYS come back here! Let me explain: As a local, living around the corner, my partner and I have tried many different (if not almost all) Italian places in the neighborhood and beyond. But we always come back to this place and recommend it standard to all our visitors and guests! The food quality is excellent, chef and staff are very kind, the athmosphere is cozy and easy going! There is a good balance between quality-quantity-price 😍, overall, it makes me a happy person leaving the place (and knowing I can come back anytime!)

Popular place, so we made a reservation. Have been twice and still very warm welcome. I wanted to eat some good Italian pasta along with Nice bottle of wine and I was served.

If you are looking for Italian traditional real fresh pasta, this is the place to go. I have tried almost everything so far and everything was very good! Very nice wine selection also to pair up with your meal. Highly recommended

First the waiter girl told us, to wait for 5 min. Then the waiter guy came and told us to wait until the table near the window gonna be free, we had waited for 10 more minutes. And after the guy told us in a very rude form, that there is no possibility for us to set. I didn’t try any food there, but I don’t have a willing to come back.

All in all a lovely experience! I walked past this place and the cozy, authentic atmosphere literally drew me in and made me reserve a table for the next day. The owners are a Roman family and that reflects in the menu. Next to classical dishes, such as Carbonara, Amatriciana and Caico e Pepe they have a variety of other pasta dishes and creative antipasti options, as well as very nice wines. (We had the primitivo which complemented the dishes very well) We shared a bruschetta as a starter, which was very good and then I had Sedanini alla Norma. The pasta was made fresh and the sauce super tasty. Service was swift and friendly. Always having and eye on us and very accommodating. All in all very good value for money. And the biggest plus is that you can eat here after 9pm which is not a given in the Netherlands ❤️

My family and have been a regular customer of this company for 2years now and I must say they are the best restaurant in Amsterdam. I love all their sauces especially manzo, ragu, bianco and the vegetarian sauces. They also have serene environment and waiters are superb.

I’ve been to many Italian restaurants, but this one stands out above the rest. The Cacio e Pepe has been on my mind ever since—absolute perfection, just like everything else we tried. I look forward to visiting again & would highly recommend everyone dine here when they get the chance!

Gustatio is our favorite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam! Their food is flavorful and authentic. The staff makes you feel like family. And the cozy atmosphere is the cherry on top of a perfect night out.

I have been a regular at Gustatio since September 2020. Federico and his team provide wonderful service and the atmosphere in the restaurant is reflective of this. The food is tasty and hearty and there is a great selection of wines to choose from all at a good price point.

Sadly disappointing; food was variable with very bad highlights (carbonara was dry and far too al dente, worst I have ever had), service was friendly but very slow, restaurant was cozy but also very noisy. Not for me anymore.

Another fantastic experience at Gustatio! We have been coming to this restaurant for years and it is always a treat. The staff is always warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The dishes are all delicious, with authentic flavors in every bite. It's hard to choose, but you can never go wrong! Our favorites are the Focaccia e Burrata and a variant of the Bruschetta as a starter. For pasta, the Carbonara is recommended, and the Gnocchi al Gorgonzola, powerful, but delicious! The changing specials also surprise us again and again thanks to the creativity of the chef. The wines are excellent, and a cocktail beforehand completes the evening. In short, Gustatio remains a top culinary experience that we recommend to everyone!

I want to believe we just had bad luck and got to witness a terrible day at the restaurant. The place is cozy and the staff was nice, but the experience was just the worse possible. By the time we place our order, the waitress said the kitchen was a bit busy and it might take sometime. No problem, and we were thankful for being told. However, the kitchen was not just busy, it was a total mess. Sitting next to it, we could barely talk due to the constant noise of pans and plates being slammed, and the staff was so confused they even drop things to the floor and break them. After more than 45 minutes, we received the worst carbonara I ever had. Guanciale was burned, the pasta overcooked and the sauce completely wrong: instead of the expected emulsion from yolks and cheese, there was a puddle of oil at the bottom of the plates. It was impossible to finish the dishes and we didn't have the courage to order desert: all we wanted was to get out of there.

I ordered tagliatelle with meat to take away and they were delicious. It tastes like homemade food. The pasta is fresh and all the ingredients seem to be of very good quality.

The carbonara is delicious ofc if you order one nice couple of wine together will be fantastic :) If you dont know witch desert you want i suggest Tiramisu its super good. The environment its so nice im not talk about the space or location well ofc everything count if you search a place to go with your date or friend or group they have seat for everyone but im talking about the people/service they are so friendly always come to your table to check if “everything is okay” wooww this for me is fantastic the attention and kind that they give for costumers is amazing. And im so lucky for this place is my neighbor :D If you come by car probably the main street “Overtoom” has not spot i suggest you can by uber/bolt at least you can drink and enjoy more if you dont need to drive back home. Hope you enjoy this nice place :))

The starters were good, especially the focaccia bread. However, for me, the pasta was a bit too al dente and was hard to chew. The tiramisu was just okay. We sat downstairs, and the lighting was a bit too dim for having dinner.

pasta was not al dente, it was a bit hard (spaguetti). starter (taglieri) not kmpresing, one id ghe cheeses was Gouda with some spices. pasta fresca? dont know. service was poor. I think the poor waiters were a bit stressed, full restaurant, very busy. they did their best. I wont go back

Great atmosphere and service in this neighbourhood Italian restaurant. However, the food and the sauces felt very heavy - even the choice of pastas were the heavier pastas. That's a personal preference though - the rest of the party enjoyed the grub. Wine was excellent.

Staff said no place for my girlfriend and I but let the couple after us sit at an empty table, which felt racially discriminatory. Would not recommend to anyone believing in fair ethical treatment of all ethnic cultures.

Very unfriendly staff. 1 pasta was really tasteless, the sauce looked like water. Not eaten, it was then resolved very poorly and we still had to pay because according to him we ate everything. Food otherwise nice, cozy place

I found myself by chance eating here, I think the best Italian restaurant in Holland that I have ever tried, the impeccable service and the food that brings back to the Italian flavours, absolutely the bigoli di mare were delicious, I hope to return as soon as possible.

The vibe of the place is just right, excellent even, but the food quality really isn’t… Burrata not really fresh, focaccia super oily (with the wrong type of oil?), seafood not as good, and the fresh pasta… I’ve had better. Unfortunate, given this place was highly recommended to me.

Me, my wife and the little 2 year old who really appreciated the tomato focaccia with burrata (really excellent), not to mention our pasta alla Norma. We felt at home in Italy! Very good drinks too. Outstanding Italian food! We were lucky to score a table as a walk in, and couldn’t believe how amazing the pasta was. The cacio e pepe was so salty and super yummy and the Bolognese was stunning. Service could be perceived as slow, but for us, it was perfect for date night, just not super friendly. Drinks and dessert hit the spot, but the star of the evening was that pasta!
