A great place for comfort food. Lots of choice, quite large portions, reasonable prices. And clean restrooms, which is also important.

My Margherita pizza was absolutely delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the service was wonderfully fast! I'll definitely be back for more delicious pasta or pizza.

My fav go-to (competing with Kreeftenbar) for a quick gorgeous meal. They accommodate families but the "ballenbak" with the "klimrek" is around a corner in the back. If you dont keep an eye on the kids it quickly spirals Into anarchy and crying.

Four of us came for dinner. Three of us ordered pesto pasta and one a Quattro Formaggi pizza with spicy chicken. This was without a doubt one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. The pesto pasta was extremely dry, completely flavorless, and came with no Parmesan cheese or basil, which is standard fare. When we reported this, no apology was offered. Instead, they brought a small container of Parmesan cheese for an extra €3. Unacceptable! The Quattro Formaggi pizza was also dry, and to our surprise, it contained pieces of chicken, which is absolutely not part of this pizza. Furthermore, the gorgonzola was missing. When we pointed this out, they said the cheese was at the bottom. That's a truly ridiculous answer! Poor quality, poor service, and absolutely no customer focus! We'll never be returning to Happy Italy. A waste of money!

Don't expect a high-end Italian restaurant, but a nice place to eat (with kids). We arrived half an hour early but were allowed to be seated. We were given time to enjoy a drink first and then order our food. The pizzas and salads are delicious, but we weren't so keen on the pasta, so we didn't order it today. The service is attentive, but if you order an Affligem tripel and get a dubbel, they should know that there's a significant difference ;-). But hey, you're in an Italian restaurant, not a Belgian tasting room. The other drinks—wine, cocktails, and lemonade for the kids—are truly superb. I think the acoustics are a bit much for people without children, but they're also accommodating by seating groups with children at tables near the indoor playground. All in all, a super pleasant place for us as a family with two children under six.

Best Happy Italy experience yet! The food and drinks arrived fairly quickly after ordering and were delicious, with generous portions. The staff is friendly, and there's a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

I ate here today with two friends and we had delicious pasta. The staff was also super friendly, and we even got dessert and drinks as a gift. So sweet, I would definitely go back!

I visited Happy Italy, for the first time this week and I absolutely loved it!! The pasta was great and such a good price. The waiters were super friendly and lovely, will definitely be visiting here again!!

Upon entering, we immediately noticed how noisy it was. We were addressed in English (which I can somewhat understand). Once at the table, our orders were taken quite quickly. We had to wait a very long time for drinks, and they didn't bring our appetizer. They brought it to an unoccupied table. The food arrived quite quickly and tasted good. While we were eating, children ran around screaming, deliberately throwing cutlery off the tables. The staff paid little to no attention to the guests; they walked past without looking up or clearing our tables. Other tables weren't cleared either and were covered with dirty plates and glasses. One moment we were addressed in English, the next in Dutch. We also had to wait a long time to order dessert, and then it turned out that several desserts weren't available. We ordered ice cream, and they had made it but then forgot to serve it. It was very messy and awful with all the children running around and screaming. Not worth repeating.

What a chaotic and disorganized mess! We waited 45 minutes for the main course, 25 minutes for dessert. Instead of two desserts, only one was delivered. In short, the wait can be long. The food was watery and tasted very bland. The waitresses ran around like headless chickens. And why does the staff speak English? I live in the Netherlands, don't I? I advise everyone to avoid this restaurant!

We came here through Social Deal. Unfortunately, the "half and half" deal (half of two different pizzas with a €1 surcharge) wasn't available because the system couldn't process it. We found it odd that this is still being advertised on Social Deal, even though the staff knows it's not possible. I had a "Spicy Chicken" pizza. The dough is wonderfully light and thin, and the red pepper makes for a truly spicy pizza. It would have been better if the pepper had been cut into smaller pieces and spread more evenly across the pizza. As it turned out, the pepper was whole, making some bites super spicy, and some not at all. Furthermore, the service was poor. The servers weren't attentive to their needs. We had to flag down the waitresses three times: twice to order and once to get the bill. All in all, a good meal, but the service makes me hesitant to dine here again.

The pizza was burnt black on the bottom and the pasta had no basil. It wasn't a great day for Happy Italy. Too bad.

Extremely disappointing. I waited a full hour for the food to even arrive. It was incredibly noisy there, too. The food was an outrage. I ordered a regular margarita, but half a pizza tasted like dough. They seemed to have no staff at all. One waiter was okay, but otherwise, it was a disaster. Never again.

To be honest, we didn't really like the pasta, but the pizzas were actually better. If I were to go back, I'd probably have pizza over pasta.

You walk in, you stand there waiting. After a few minutes, you sit down because no one helps you. Then you get a quick edit from the staff. The place is half empty. Great concept. A real company going to hell with this kind of service!!! Send them to Dubai for a training course!! Ridiculous treatment, and of course, we went somewhere else! We'll never come back!!

Poor service. There were 8 of us. After we ordered, they arrived with the order for 6. The ingredients for 2 of us were gone. These 2 had to order again. Only 20 minutes after everyone had eaten did they arrive with the 7th person's order. This time, the dish was missing some herbs and vegetables from the list. The 8th person's order had already been forgotten and wasn't brought. In short, one of us didn't even eat, and one had half a meal. Shame on everyone!

The food isn't good. The biggest plus is the friendly staff. The play area could also be a plus, but it's next to the restrooms. Very dirty. You can't really call the pizza pizza; it's bread with some tomato sauce and cold tomatoes.

We had made a reservation for 22 people a week before we were going to eat there. When we arrived, there was no room. It was 6:30 pm. We waited 45 minutes before we could get in. We weren't sitting together, but spread out. Our drinks were taken, and our food orders were also taken. The drinks arrived fairly quickly. But then it all started. The table next to us was an older man and his grandson. They received their order after 45 minutes, and the two pizzas they ordered were cold. So this man informed the manager that his pizzas were cold. Nothing happened with this information, and as a result, the man and his grandson left. Thirty minutes later, someone at our table informed us that there was a supposed power outage and that our order would take another 15 minutes. Our two granddaughters were already starving. After 15 minutes, still no food, and the older man's two pizzas were still on the table and hadn't been cleared away. Meanwhile, I checked with our fellow travelers; they hadn't received anything yet either, but they had told them there was no more bolognese. Meanwhile, one pizza had arrived, but not what we'd ordered. By this point, I'd had enough, and I walked out at 8:45 PM without having had anything to eat. There were numerous complaints from several tables. I've never experienced this before, and I don't recommend Happy Italy Amsterdam to anyone. I do have good things to say about Happy Italy Kerkrade.

We didn't receive a menu or any cutlery. The restaurant was almost empty, and we had to wait over an hour for our order. We only received one dish, and the others still had to be prepared. The staff wasn't friendly, and the tables weren't cleared. We also ordered "cheesy garlic bread," which was cold and had no cheese or garlic. I definitely don't recommend this.

Decent food and nice prices and good service

My family and I’ve been coming here since they opened. It’s a great place to go to for good food. There’s even a little play area for kids atmosphere is nice. Staff is friendly cooks are amazing and they follow instructions well when it comes to what you prefer on your food… for instance, my son doesn’t like spicy food so on the pasta carbonara we asked them to make sure they put no pepper and they understood the assignment A+++++ - we will always return to this staple of an Italian restaurant in this local community

The best restaurant in this area! And Valentin the bests and Valentyn is the best and most attentive waiter in the restaurant. Please come and ask for him — you will be served in the best way. And the pizza here is the most delicious. And what’s even better — there is plenty of space, everyone will have a seat.

A truly terrible experience at Happy Italy Amsterdam!! I went here for dinner with two friends, but it was a huge disappointment from start to finish. We called ahead to say we'd be a bit late, but the front office told us our reservation would be canceled immediately because there was only 15 minutes to spare. However, when we got there, the restaurant was half empty, so that didn't make sense. After ordering quickly, we waited over 40 minutes for our food. Everyone around us was getting theirs. When we asked where it was, the staff member literally said, "I don't know." Only after we insisted did the staff member check. The food itself was terrible. Pasta with no flavor, mushrooms that tasted like water, and a burrata that looked more like a bowl of liquid (which I also paid extra for). I asked for some extra cheese to put on the pasta. We were given one small bowl of Parmesan cheese to share between three people. During our entire visit, no one came to ask if everything was to our liking or if we wanted anything else to drink. When we went to pay, we had to wait another ten minutes and even received the wrong bill. When I expressed our dissatisfaction with the food and the poor service, a male employee literally said, "I don't care." That speaks volumes about the lack of respect for guests and the terrible service. It's ridiculous how they react and how casually they handle this! They don't seem to care. I ended up paying €65 for food we barely touched because it was terrible. A waste of my money! Chaotic service, tasteless food, and rude employees. Never again for us, and definitely never recommended to anyone! Truly disgusting!

I eat here often and am always very satisfied! The service is excellent, the food always arrives promptly, and the staff are super friendly. Happy Italy is truly one of my favorite places in Amsterdam for pasta. It's also great that there's a fun play area for the kids—perfect for families. Definitely recommended! 🍝👏

Poor service, and everything on the menu was gone by 5:00 PM. Half the restaurant was empty, but there wasn't a table. We walked out and made a reservation by phone, and suddenly we were welcome.

Extremely long service. People leave before taking their order. It's been 1 hour and 10 minutes since we ordered and still haven't received anything.

We're in Amsterdam for the TCS Marathon. We had to pick up our race number at the RAI Amsterdam, and this Happy Italy is nearby! We thought it was ideal. First, we were turned away because we hadn't made a reservation and they were "full." We eventually made an online reservation and were allowed in afterward. We were in the mood for a starter of sandwiches and carpaccio, but by 6:00 PM, all the starters were gone. Everything else was just as bad. The food was okay, but people around us wanted to order or pay, and I don't think the staff even knew what they were doing. Except for one woman who was doing her absolute best to help everyone kindly and quickly. Nevertheless, this was our only time eating here. Such a shame.

We had a reservation and still waited 1.5h to be served. 30 min outside in the cold. Two kids and one pregnant person. No snacks while waiting, nothing... People were complaining about cold food and left. Terrible service. Our pizzas were decent though.

My carbonara was okay, but nothing more. The others at the table were happy. Funnily enough, I ordered everything via the restaurant app. The deliveries were very quick.

This restaurant UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT 👏🏼 We had arrived at 17:15 letting our waiter know immediately that we have an appointment nearby at 18:00 so we need to order asap and pay the bill. He was very understanding, we ordered the Bruschetta and the Spicy Pepperoni pizza and it came VERY quickly (5-10 minutes after ordering). We were very shocked but very happy. We understand that Dutch people, or Europeans in general, love to take their time in restaurants and cafés, drink and eat slowly to enjoy more, but for tourists, our time is limited and we need to get to the next activity fast and this place understood that without shaming us. We really wish we could have left a tip (we paid with credit card) because the waiter really deserved extra for being so accommodating and understanding. Thank you so much again!

The welcome was polite, which I still find strange: in a Dutch restaurant, you're still addressed in English. And the rest of the staff also speaks broken Dutch. My wife received the risotto she ordered, and it took almost 15 minutes for the rest of the pizzas to be delivered to the table. After dinner, the staff walked past several times but left everything behind, and only when you asked someone for a drink did they take the plates away. And when you order your dessert and after 20 minutes of asking where it is, it turns out it simply hasn't been passed on. No, this was not a pleasant experience at this restaurant, unfortunately.

I've been here twice, two years in a row, for a dinner hosted by my employer. The food is average; some of the pizzas, like the cheeseburger, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The tomatoes in the appetizers are plastic in color and taste. The furniture is shabby.

It was a nice shop, but the seating was a bit cozy. The food was good, but I found the menu a bit limited. The pizzas were well-priced. The service was very good.

Generally, they're probably making an effort. It's just that they're only partially successful. The clientele is probably very diverse. The pizza was okay, the pasta carbonara was also okay. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after ordering that we discovered that the tagiatelle salmone wasn't available, although it was still available. The alternative was okay, even if it's not exactly Michelin-starred. If you want a quick meal of acceptable quality, this is a good place to go. If you want good or even very good food, you shouldn't stop here. Due to the restaurant's child-friendly nature, expect a higher noise level throughout!

I was hesitant to visit the place when I saw its rating on google maps, however, with late timing, I had no choice but to give it a try, I had Cesar salad which came in a big bowl, it was delicious with rich flavor, the cheeseburger pizza was surprisingly good to try. I would come back again for such restaurant. Thank you.

Place looks nice. Unfortunatelly upon entering the place we were asked to wait to be seated with my daughter.We waited.Then other people started entering the place and they were all seated,while we stood and look stupid with my daughter.So humiliated we left :(

Once you've ordered, you wait a comfortable 30 minutes for your food. Drinks are offered after your meal if you don't ask (I saw this at other tables). I had to ask about my drink and appetizer because I'd ordered them a while ago and clearly marked them as appetizers. It was a roll with olive oil, which was rock hard (old). Pasta was a large portion for my main course, but tasted awful. Chicken pasta, one of the most expensive pastas on the menu, was just Albert Heijn smoked chicken in pieces. No atmosphere at all. Simply a waste of money.

Not fine dining but the food is hearty and portions feels like my granny served the plate. Couldn’t finish my pasta due to sharing a starter. Omnomnom. Family friendly and busy so the staff was always on the move. Effective and knowledgeable staff that were able to personalize my dish with an easy tweak. The room could benefit from some extra sound dampening fabrics but that was the only reason for not giving all 5⭐️ Would return again.

my experience was incredibly atrocious to begin with i am a tourist not from the this city and seen this restaurant as a place to eat and enjoy my experience was quite the opposite to begin with the customer service was terrible the waitress was incredibly rude and creating problems when we changed our mind on the food to make matters incredibly worse we found a stone in our pizza and was only offered drinks on the house and not a refund as the pizza had been eaten. we had only found this stone on the last slice, so the pizza was already eaten. The manager was trying to be little the situation and only apologised when further complaints was deemed this is a disgraceful place and should not be opened.

Very slow service, bland pasta, this restaurant has nothing Italian about it; if you are, move on, the quality is poor. We asked for water, and they brought us two bottles that had already been opened, so we couldn't return them, which cost over €7 for 40cl of water.

The food always arrived quickly and always tasted really good. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. You don't have to wait more than 10 minutes for your food, and it still tastes really good. There are many great dishes that aren't expensive at all, even for Amsterdam. The restaurant is located on a small square, and you can sit inside or outside. There's a play area for children inside.

Honestly Happy Italy rotterdam has given me many happy memories but waiting for an hour for our food in the Amsterdam establishment has not been the best feeling. The servers are amazing but the times are simply too slow. I gave the food (pasta) high ratings, but only after personally dousing it in spices and oils. I can recommend this as a place to stop by when you’re on the go and not looking for something too special.

The food is very good, with excellent and varied pizzas and salads. The best part is the price, as it's not as exorbitant as other restaurants in the city.

This place is weird. To be honest, I was not satisfied with the taste at all. But I am considering next visit(s) I promise, I am not the person who enjoys this kind of re-visits, but this place is exceptional. Maybe because super kids friendly? Maybe because price is okayish? As a family with 3 young children we love to come here! Staff is friendly and helpful and the food is delicious for a friendly price. We have been coming here for at least 3 years almost weekly and we will continue to come!

Waiting for an order almost an hour, it was awful.

Seating is available inside and outside. You must register with the staff at the entrance, and a table will be assigned if necessary. After a short wait, you can wait a long time. The store is quite noisy. The wait can be long, and we waited almost an hour for food. The pizza and pasta were delicious and the portions were quite large.

I liked this place, pizza was tasty and good and after all i took one drink which also was fantastic. From my side 5 stars.

Last Friday, May 30, we wanted to sit on the terrace of this restaurant. There were plenty of free tables. We went inside and asked if we could sit down. After waiting for five minutes, we were told that the terrace would close soon and that everyone would be asked inside – despite the nice weather and the fact that it was Friday evening. That is why we were not allowed to sit on the terrace and were told that there was no room inside either. So we were forced to order a pizza to go. Ordering drinks was not possible, because that option was not available with take-away. In the end, we ate on a bench opposite the restaurant. What surprised us: even an hour and a half later, the terrace was still open, there were still free tables and no one had been sent inside. Why we were denied access is a mystery to us. The restaurant lost extra orders and satisfied customers. We are very disappointed.

Had a great meal at Happy Italy I came across Happy Italy via a search on Google Maps. The reviews were positive – and rightly so! The food was delicious and well-seasoned. The only (small) downside was that there seemed to be less attention for the terrace, probably because it was very busy inside. But otherwise a nice experience and definitely worth repeating!

I can't recommend this pizzeria. They're far too understaffed, and you wait forever for everything. We waited half an hour to order, another half hour for drinks, and an hour and a half for our food. The pizza was one of the worst I've ever eaten, and it was cold, too. This place is also far too loud. Mass processing with zero comfort factor.

No, the wait was far too long, the restaurant was extremely loud, and the staff was too few. My pasta was good, but my daughter's pizza was cold, the dough was too hard and burnt, and the taste was bland.

My first visit to Happy Italy was okay: large pizzas, friendly service and a quick bite. Unfortunately, the times after that were disappointing. The ingredients taste cheap and the balance is off. For example, the pizza BBQ had so much sauce on it that you couldn't taste anything else. The four-cheese pizza tasted like a frozen pizza. The staff remains friendly and does their best, but the food is not of consistent quality. It is also very busy and noisy inside because of the children's play corner. Maybe fun for families with small children, but I will skip it from now on.

Service was friendly and the food was reasonable, don't expect the quality of a real Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was also reasonable but I see a lot of room for improvement there. Most people who work there speak to you in English.

The food tasted very good (pasta with meatballs and pizza caprese). The service was good, fast and reliable. Despite the busy restaurant, we didn't have to wait long for our food.

Unfortunately we can't really recommend the store. Maybe for family. For a couple who just wanted something quick to eat without a long walk from the hotel. We were there around 8 p.m., only 2 waiters served the tables. After waiting 5 minutes we were told we would be seated straight away. After another 5 waits we were told that they only had to collect 2 tables. After another 5 minutes we were seated. After 15 minutes we were asked what we would like to eat. Food came quite quickly but the pasta came in a plastic-like bowl, which is a bit of a no-go for me personally, but since the restaurant is child-friendly I can ignore it. But it tasted very tasty. During the meal we would also be asked for the last round of drinks. The shop is generally very loud, although the children were probably the quietest. Basically we spent almost 1 1/2 hours here due to the long waiting time. You have to know.

Good service very much depends on the person. I think the pizzas are better than the pastas because the pasta dishes have few ingredients (spinach/salmon/garlic/parsley, etc). So you mainly eat a plate of... pasta.

I missed the Italian look a bit, the atmosphere, table layout and chairs do not make it inviting to dine for a long time. Prices are okay for what you get. Check the receipt because the withdrawal of drinks and food kept going wrong. As a chain, I hope other places do better.

We visited the restaurant because it was right next to our hotel. We ordered a salad, a pasta and a pizza. The pizza was very good and tasty, but the rest of the dishes disappointed us. The salad was bland and without much flavor, while the pasta was completely rubbish, the spaghetti overcooked and tasteless.
