Happy Italy Amsterdam Pizza's, Pasta's en meer in Scheldebuurt

Previously it was tastier and better atmosphere. Only 20 people at 7pm in such a big restaurant! Don't come back again.

Offering delicious Italian cuisine in a lively and welcoming environment. The portions are generous and the ingredients fresh, which ensures tasty and authentic meals. Despite a wait for the food, the friendly service and excellent quality of the dishes make the wait well worth it. Highly recommended for lovers of Italian cuisine.

Even though we had made a reservation, we still had to wait a long time for a table upon arrival. The pizza was so mediocre that I would rather eat a frozen pizza or go to dominoes.

The staff was very rude and kinda racist. Also waitress was also rude. The food nah not that much the alfredo pasta was 0 and the margarita pizza was no more than okay. Never coming back here again.

We went here for dinner twice within 4 days because the food and pizza were delicious.

Very untidy. Shelves with cans of food (e.g. tomato sauce) as decoration are exactly what you don't want to see in a restaurant. There is an open trash can in the middle of the guest area right next to the tables. Tables are only cleared away very late after use, so that you are now sitting on tables full of leftover food. There are tons of beer mats and leftover food on the floor. The food was lukewarm and hardly seasoned at all. It's a shame but absolutely not recommended.

Nice service, food, big plate, big pizza, normal prices

I wasn't happy in happy Italy. the food was dry, unseasoned and downright not tasty. Simple dishes are poorly prepared anyway. The waiters were cold to us, they walked to our table with a sigh every time. They also wouldn't fill my four year old's glass with water, if he wanted water I had to pay 3 euros for two sips. Atmosphere was fine, but there was a lamp hanging on my head every time and all the dirt from that lamp touched my hair.

I would recommend staff to get training in service skills to better serve families with children

Our daughter attended her friend’s birthday party here and was absolutely thrilled! The kids got to make their own pizzas (which turned out delicious), and the restaurant has a children’s play area where they spent a lot of time having fun.

Went on a weekday evening but it was very busy . Pizza and pasta was ok . Service was good for a very busy evening. Ball pit inside for kids is too small . One of the waiters was rather rude and seated us at door even though plenty places were available inside and later filled . I think I will not come here again

I had my daughter’s 5th bday party here. We had a misunderstanding for the rez and part details but the staff navigated everything very professionally and made sure that all party webt smoothly.

Very unfriendly staff, they want to find a table for you themselves. And they prefer to put you at the door. They made us wait 10 minutes at the entrance for a table. Happy Italy never had any problems in other cities. I'll never come back here again.

Horrible Experience - Avoid This Place I went to Happy Italy Amsterdam RAI with friends to celebrate my birthday, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. First, we were told there would be a 10-minute wait, but it ended up being 20-30 minutes. To make matters worse, they seated people who arrived after us before us. When we finally got to order, my friends’ food came out first, but mine took another 10-15 minutes. My friends didn’t want to eat without me, so my birthday dinner started awkwardly late. The staff’s attitude was shockingly rude. Every time we asked a question, they responded in a cold, dismissive tone like they didn’t want to help us at all. At one point, a friend went to the restroom and found there was no toilet paper. When she asked for some, she was met with the same unhelpful, borderline hostile attitude. When my food finally arrived, another issue came up. My friend, who cannot eat meat, ordered a seafood pasta, but it came with chicken in it. On top of that, when we asked to take our leftovers home, they gave us giant, impractical boxes, while we noticed other tables received normal-sized ones. Then came the worst part: the chair I was sitting on broke while we were taking pictures. I hit my head hard on the table behind me, and the staff didn’t even bother to check if I was okay. They just said, “It’s okay,” took the chair, and left. Their excuse? The chair was old. Instead of showing concern, they told me I wouldn’t be charged for the chair—as if that was the issue! To top it all off, we all felt sick after eating the food. It felt like the workers didn’t want us there, even though we were polite and respectful throughout. I work as a waitress myself, so I know how customers should be treated, and this was completely unacceptable. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Worst dinner ever ! Unbelievably slow and poor service. 30 minutes for getting menus, 20 minutes then to get our drinks, 50 minutes more and no food ! Go away and choose other place for dinner

We visited this place with friends. Service very slow, no one was watching over the drinks, no dessert was offered. Pasta was served with wilted basil. Pizza was very medium. No cutlery was provided for the appetizer or pasta. In theory, a child-friendly place, but in practice, terribly loud music.

Quantity ok. Quality ok nothing more (We had pasta and pizza) Nice service but not very fast even though the restaurant was 1/4 full. I wasn't a big fan of the decor, even if a real effort was made...I had more the feeling of eating in a large "Italian" cafeteria than in a restaurant. So not super cozy... But overall it's good and good

Food is great and the pizzas are really nice. It’s also super convenient to have a small interior playground for kids. For this same reason can become quite noisy during peak hours. The staff is nice, but sometimes feel short for the amount of people they have to serve. Can create some frustrating waiting times to order/pay/wait for food.

We waited in front of the door for 20 minutes before we were helped. With many empty tables. We then waited another 20 minutes at the table without anyone looking after us. We wanted to order dessert, but no one came by. When we spoke to an employee, we were told to ask another colleague. Unfortunately we received no help then either. In the end we left without dessert and disappointed, after which we paid online. Once again I had super bad service, unfortunately, never going back

I ordered take-away pizza two times, First time was very good the second time I ordered Pizza Contadina, but what I got is a pizza which looks partly ready, I might wrong but it's definitely feels like that. At least the Panna Cotta was perfect :)

Crying Italy would be a better name. I've never eaten pasta and pizza so tasteless. It's cheap here, but you can also give it some flavor. Tourist tent pure singing.

If you are vegan, here you will find some of the best vegan pasta and pizzas. They have a few options for each and the portions are quite big. Whenever I want to try a vegan pizza I'm Netherlands I come back here

Italian chain restaurant where the quality is average and the service is slow but the food gets out quickly after ordering... If you are in the area it can be an option. Otherwise, don't go out of your way to go to this restaurant.

The sign at the entrance stated that please wait until you were shown to the table. The Beckup, who had an overview of the restaurant from behind, had to ask the service twice to do his work. When the waitress was there, things went quite quickly and she was also very diligent. We had bruschetta and insalata caprese as starters. Both dishes were rather undercooled so that the minimally seasoned ingredients could not develop their full aroma. For the main course we had tagliatelle al tonno and a pizza salami. The tagliatelle were al dente but cooked in a cooking water without salt. The tuna and tomato sauce lacked sufficient flavor, I rarely use seasoning in restaurants but here it was absolutely necessary! Likewise, the pizza, the dough was missing a little salt, the tomato sugo lacked flavor and the very thinly sliced ​​salami had no flavor. Conclusion: tried hard but not recommended!

I visited this place for the play ground which is 3 mt, the quality of the food is very poor. I would see the name Happy Italy again because it does not represent the quality of Italian food at all.

We had a pretty bad reception. We only stayed because it was raining outside. I would have given one star if the follow up service would have been similar. But it was better. The food was "meh" but good enough. And be aware that this is a family restaurant so it can be very noisy. Acceptable to get your stomach filled though 😋

The food is great. But after that we were basically asked to do the last round. The restaurant closes quite early. Otherwise everything was great and definitely recommended.

If you book to eat pizza, it is strange that when you get there the pizza oven is broken. They could have told us this. The strange thing was that they did not apologize for this situation.

Even though we had 3 children, we could not go to a place close to the playground even though a reservation had been made. There was an empty table but it was kept free in case a group of more than ten people came, we were 8 people. We were sitting in the draft from the outside door with a stroller and a 2 month old baby. We couldn't sit anywhere else because they didn't have service for that. Food didn't come at the same time either. Never come there again service was very bad.

After making a reservation at 6:30 PM, we were finally assigned a table at 6:50 PM. Then waited half an hour and still no waitress to ask us if we wanted something to drink or eat. Unfortunately, due to lack of time we had to eat somewhere else.

Nice meal. The pasta is highly recommended. I really had a lot of meatballs and a lot of pasta. There is also a ball pit for the children.

Avoid by all means on weekend evenings. Made a reservation for a family dinner with little kids (May, 26 18:45). Came 5 minutes in advance to find 10 more people (also with kids) just forced to wait outside on a rainy and windy evening because the waiter/host "needed the aisle space". No one was inviting the guests so the people leaked gradually one by one. It took us 10 minutes to be seated after waiving with the phone and showing we have a reservation. The kids pizza was served quite fast and that's the only positive part. Drinks were served after 20 minutes. The main courses were lost and forgotten at all as we have found out accidentally after one hour of waiting when we started noticing the newer guests were served faster then us. The apologies were made in an impolite form (aka "too many people, I'm alone - bear with it") with no compliments suggested initially so my wife asked for the one. In the end we were granted with a free dessert and two fresh mint teas but I won't consider coming there again. Clearly there's a shortage of staff as per said by other people below and no one is motivated to maintain a good reputation.

Cozy atmosphere and nice staff. The price-performance ratio was definitely right. The choice of dishes is great. As the subtitle says, our pizzas were at the table really quickly. I'm not sure if a reservation is necessary. It was full, but for a Saturday evening it was limited.

The food was OK,pizza oven should be cleaned as the bottom of our pizzas were black from the burnt flour. My wife's pasta Alfredo was tasteless. The front of house host was absolutely terrible, never experiened such bad service. Sat us down at our table and had to practically beg to be attended to for the rest of the evening. This was our first and last time visiting Happy Italy.

The food was really not recommended, it tasted of nothing and was super greasy. Paid for extra ingredients in my pasta and then got 4 leaves of spinach. Shame! The pizza was as thin as a napkin and the cheese looked like bubble gum. Never again for us.

Went here with social deals with 2 children and my husband, great success! Children could also play nicely, we were there at closing time, so in terms of children's crowds it was not too bad, and we were there on King's Day btw, so I don't know what it looks like if it is not a public holiday, but nice service, one half speaks English and the other half luckily Dutch, they ordered our ice cream from the deal on time but delivered it a little late, but that doesn't matter, we were still eating, but our ice cream arrived at 9.55 pm and they close at 10 p.m. so we were the only ones in the restaurant, well the children aged 2 and 3 were running around because there was no one there anyway, and the staff continued doing their own thing, luckily it didn't bother them. We were there with 16 people. The waitress wasn't willing or able to pay us individually or in pairs, even the manager wasn't helpful and threatened to call the police if we didn't pay everything together. Ultimately we were allowed to split our bill into two parts (full price 1x cash and 1x card payment) and pay it that way. But we had to do the division ourselves.

Convenient to reach, I liked that they have very quick and friendly waiters. As for the food, let's say that I wasn't very happy... some pizzas are unwatchable but really shocking (I attach photos of the menu)... they are certainly not Italian pizzas but more of a dough with random ingredients thrown on top... really bad still see this "pizza with pineapple" on the menus of some pizzerias. Good location, nothing special but still quite well-kept, nice outside square. They use a Valoriani oven which is the top of the line pizza ovens... but they use little salt and cook them very little (for my taste).

Been to other branches of Happy Italy several times, but this was the worst! - long queue while there were enough empty tables. - service was not very smooth. - empty tables were not cleared, which made it look chaotic and not hygienic. - it looked like a dirty barn so there was no atmosphere. This Happy Italy location is not recommended!

We took advantage of the cinema deal at Happy Italy with 2 people. After we had a nice meal, we would go to the cinema with vouchers from Happy Italy. After checking whether the vouchers had been activated correctly (it had already gone wrong with acquaintances), we discovered at the cinema that there was far too little balance on the cards. We paid for this with our own voucher, which we happened to have with us. We later raised this problem with Happy Italy, but since we had paid with another voucher, they could not do anything for us. Ridiculous and absolutely not recommended, so it is not a one-off incident.

Chaotic upon entry. It's not very convenient that you all have to wait at high tables until it's your turn, while many dining tables are empty. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long later, a great experience with good service and delicious food!
