Great food here. Simple menu but all beautifully cooked. Good drinks/wine menu too

Goo .pizza or pasta. Gréât value.

The pizza wasn't cut and we didn't receive any cutlery. We had to wait a very long time before we could pay, and the staff seemed very incompetent overall.

It's fun for the children. The food, however, is truly substandard. The kids' portions are also ridiculous.

It was tasty, but the waitstaff and the service in general is truly insanely bad. I honestly waited 45 minutes only to be told that the kitchen was closed and that I couldn't order dessert because of it. If the waiter had come immediately, I could have gotten my FK dessert. The waitstaff is also so slow to clear up and stuff. They talk to other people outside for a very long time and randomly. Not a good experience at all. You will never see me again.

Had an AMAZING time. Yesterday we celebrated our daughter's birthday at Happy Italy. It was my first experience and I will definitely be back. We were warmly welcomed and served by an English-speaking waiter (unfortunately I don't know his name, but what a great guy he is!). He came to meet us with a custom-made dish for our son, which is unusual. Thanks again for that! The food was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by the pizzas. Kids' pizzas are made in the shape of a rabbit's face. Perfectly fitting for the theme of our daughter's birthday party (Zootropolis - Judy Hopps🐰). The taste of the pizza took me back to Italy for a moment. I haven't eaten such a delicious pizza in ages. The pasta shrimp something-or-other was also exquisite. And the play area for the kids was a surprise for us. The party continued there. All in all, very happy and grateful that we ended the birthday celebration at Happy Italy and were able to give our daughter such a wonderful birthday.

Food was fine. Service ridiculously bad. It was very quiet (only a few tables occupied) and yet we had to wait a very long time for staff to come and take our order. Our drinks went empty for a very long time.

We spent four days in Amsterdam and ate at Happy Italy every evening. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. I would definitely come back. If you like mushrooms, I highly recommend the Pasta Ai Funghi.

Just been to Happy Italy here in Amsterdam. It was our first time. The food was good. We had pasta with plenty of shrimp. At Vapiano back then, we definitely got less. The pizzas were tasty! The kids' pizzas are really fun. They are served shaped like a rabbit face. A nice idea. The food was served quickly. Parking is manageable, under the Dirk supermarket. 1.75 euros per 20 minutes. Oh, right! For 20-30 euros per person, we had plenty to eat. We had a pizza and pasta each.

We had a delicious meal. There was a lot of food and we could take the rest home. Friendly staff. A really nice restaurant. Superrrrr

What a huge disaster! Bad food, no service.

The Food tastes just how you imagine Dutch food: Not tasting a lot. The Pesto tastes really chemical and not healthy ... the Pasta Bianca is just boiled pasta with decorating leafs. The Waiter was way to extra Italian it was disturbing and cringe.

Fine pizza with good ingredients (Prosciutto Parma), but understaffed, making it quite busy for one person, who was quick and accurate.

So in the begin there was a miss understand about the menu, but after explaining how i did the reservation, the manager spoke with the one who booked it for me and everything was arranged! It was all nice sitting with around 40 people. Thanks for the team, for the hard work. Little tip, add more flavoring to the food.

The cheese pizza was delicious. The tartufo pasta was tasty, but I wondered if the mushrooms had been boiled in water because they tasted soggy. The pannacotta was delicious.

Difficult. I don't usually like to give bad reviews, but what happened today definitely deserves one. The service was abysmal and practically nonexistent. The staff was incredibly unfriendly, and it seemed like they were either severely understaffed or completely unmotivated. Regardless, they can serve customers politely and at least demonstrate a certain level of competence. We were practically pressured to order immediately after sitting down, and a waiter refused to come back later because they were too busy. I felt completely rushed and ordered the first thing that looked appealing because there wasn't even time to look at the rest of the menu. No hello, please, thank you, or anything like that. An unfriendly atmosphere was created from the very beginning. The tables were in a terrible state, and every single one outside was empty, dirty, and hadn't been cleared. Inside, it was similar, though not quite as bad. The state of the outdoor area should have been a warning sign, and we should have turned around right then and there. In the end, we had to wait almost 20 minutes for the bill. Although we had asked to pay separately, this was not desired (?) and the bill was slammed down on the table without a word, and the waiter immediately disappeared. Since we had absolutely no desire to stay any longer or wait another 20 minutes for the waiter, we simply put the cash on the table and left. The food was okay, although the prices for simple pizzas were quite steep. €16 for a Hawaiian pizza with exactly two pieces of pineapple per slice. On top of that, there were "standard" prices for restaurant drinks. We paid €117.90 for six people. Everyone had a drink and a pizza. In conclusion: Extremely rude staff, very dirty tables, and exorbitant prices for what was offered. Next time, I would rather order a pizza to the hotel than spend that much money again for such poor service.

The servers were incredibly friendly and patient with our orders, so they can't really be blamed for the food not being very good today. From the pasta lacking seasoning, to the artificial-tasting pesto and dips, to the bland pizza dough, it unfortunately wasn't a good day for the kitchen. We've definitely had better experiences here before. But they were open to feedback and responded constructively to criticism :)

The service was excellent. I was served by a young man named Alex, who helped me communicate in Spanish. The food was very good, with very generous portions, and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant is very spacious, which makes it easy to sit without people around when it's not too busy.

My daughter wanted to eat spaghetti and what better place for the kids than happy Italy! Loved the pasta and pizzas and Alex the 5star waiter even brought the dessert with a little firework. Thanks for the service, good food and putting a smile on our faces :)

The food was fine, but it just took a long time before we were served. People who arrived later were served earlier and eventually left fifteen minutes before us. The food was fine, but nothing special. There is an extra charge for additional toppings like cheese, even though cheese really belongs with pasta. The restaurant looks cozy in itself, but the staff was stressed and seemed to have lost track of things.

When we got to Happy Italy, it was fairly empty, I think only 5 tables of customers. We were made to wait to be seated by a (incompetent and rude) waiter. We placed our order and waited and waited and waited. The drinks arrived but one was wrong and one was missing. Then mains arrived and the pasta was a teeny tiny portion and the pizzas were heavy with tomato sauce. Dessert took 45 MINUTES to be delivered to the table and that's only because we went up to remind them of our order. Waiting to pay took so long we seriously contemplated just leaving, though my husband did end up paying more than 100€ for mediocre food and TERRIBLE service. Will not go back again.

I review a ton of places. Usually its after I have their food. This place sat my wife and I down and then proceeded to ignore us for 20 minutes. Two employees started arguing as well. This place was an absolute joke. Save your money, there are way too many great places to eat here. Seriously folks, if they were busy or had more than 4 customers, they wouldn't be able to handle it. Wait staff and the seemingly manager was rude as they gave me dirty looks for leaving without asking if we had been served or helped. Hopefully another business comes in soon to take over that huge space that has massive potential. Not so Happy Italy

This was one of the worst Restaurants we ever went to. The pasta was way overcooked, the sauce was mostly tasteless and had a weird texture. Couldnt finish it despite being really hungry. The service was really slow even if it was pretty empty - they just seemed to be chatting and not wanting to work. On top the A/C was way too strong but we couldnt change tables as we had already ordered food. At least our waiter turned it down just a little bit. All in all a big disappointment and definitely not recommended!!

Worst water experience ever. What is wrong with the bold waiter working on 30/06 19.00?! Rude and hostile behaviour, gave us multiple dirty looks when we asked to order anything. I have been coming to this place for many years to be honest the food is always good and the kids love it, but the service has gone worse and worser. This guy serving us really ruined our evening. I mean a simple request just to have the pizza cut is worth eyeballing? And since when this has to be requested ahead of order? This never has been an issue and always done without any trouble if not already cutted before even asking. Also to ask for a glass of water for our kids was not allowed?! Come on. Really dude you should be ashamed of your behaviour this evening!

We were visiting Amsterdam and went to Happy Italy. There was absolutely nothing ‘happy’ about it. Only a waiter came by to show us to our table. After that, everything was handled online. The pizza was okay. Paying the bill took about 15 minutes because no one came by or even looked at us. When we wanted to pay the bill separately, that didn't work either. "That’s not possible." Moreover, only one person in this restaurant spoke Dutch, which is really a shame in the Netherlands.

This is our favorite pizza place in Amsterdam. Good service, tasty pizza and pasta, cozy atmosphere. Definitely can recommend, the only thing it a fancy restaurant, don't have very high expectations.

Excellent food, delicious salad!

The food we ordered was very tasty. I had already finished my pasta and my companion hadn't finished his pizza yet, and the wait staff took my plate away, even though I told them I didn't want that. We had ordered dessert; my companion had ordered ice cream and had clearly said: "I want 2 scoops of ice cream, 1 chocolate and 1 vanilla." In the end, he received 2 scoops of chocolate instead of his scoop of vanilla ice cream. He was not happy that this happened. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, where there is a children's play area, and we were very bothered by the screaming of other guests' children. We felt the service was not commensurate with the price of the food.

I have seen the comments about bad service in other reviews and they are obviously making a big push to correct this. I arrived just before closing, service was very fast, waiter offered a free drink top up. Portions were very large. Food was pretty good for price. If you are in nearby hotel for work and want to eat quickly this is perfect.

Great pizza, but the real highlight is the ball pit. It actually makes it possible for you, as a parent, to have a conversation.

A potion is very large, very tasty, the Meatlover pizza is amazing, the pasta is very creamy. You can also order a mixed topping pizza. I love to order extra cheese for my pasta. Staffs are very friendly. We had dinner at 7pm sunday evening, it's not very crowded and food served fast

Had a lovely evening here yesterday. Even though it was very busy, the food arrived reasonably on time! The staff had to work hard, but under the leadership of the manager, everything went smoothly. A nice man with a small beard; he was super hospitable and friendly!

We went to Happy Italy last night with a few people. We ordered several pizzas and pastas, and we also had ice cream afterwards. Of the pizzas, the spicy chicken was the best. Of the pastas, there was one with shrimp, which was quite tasty. The pizzas are large, about 34 cm in diameter. The atmosphere inside was cozy and fun. It is advisable to make a reservation in advance. There is a terrace outside, but even though it was sunny, the sun wasn't shining there. There is also a nice children's play area. We also had different ice cream flavors. Strawberry flavor was the best.

Got the wrong pizza, realized it when I got home, had to go back…. Then I did get the right pizza (but by then it was cold). Really great.

Happy Italy Amsterdam: The restaurant where time stands still I walked in hungry. I left traumatized. Waited an hour and a half for food. During that time I: • Saw my watch age • Saw the waitress respawn three times • Had an existential crisis at table 7 When the food finally arrived, I thought: “Maybe it’s worth the wait…” Spoiler: No. The pasta was so bland that even my taste buds quit. The pizza? Soggier than a wet sock in November. The service? As if they were in stealth mode. I almost had to use a Ouija board to make contact. Happy Italy? Only if you get ‘happy’ from waiting, disappointment, and a bill that feels like a prank. Next time, just have a frozen pizza at home with a candle — more atmosphere, more flavor, less drama.

Food is just okay. Fair priced, big portions, just okay taste.

The pizza was fine, the kids' pizza was nice too. The decor was good as well. The service could really be much better; we ordered dessert after the meal and had to wait over 20 minutes for it. Staff came to the table four times in between, but no one took the empty plates away; when we left, they were still there. Toilet paper was out of stock in all the restrooms; it was quite a hassle to get it. Paying was difficult (couldn't find anyone to settle the bill with), and in the end, I didn't even get all my change back...

My fav go-to (competing with Kreeftenbar) for a quick gorgeous meal. They accommodate families but the "ballenbak" with the "klimrek" is around a corner in the back. If you dont keep an eye on the kids it quickly spirals Into anarchy and crying.

Four of us came for dinner. Three of us ordered pesto pasta and one a Quattro Formaggi pizza with spicy chicken. This was without a doubt one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. The pesto pasta was extremely dry, completely flavorless, and came with no Parmesan cheese or basil, which is standard fare. When we reported this, no apology was offered. Instead, they brought a small container of Parmesan cheese for an extra €3. Unacceptable! The Quattro Formaggi pizza was also dry, and to our surprise, it contained pieces of chicken, which is absolutely not part of this pizza. Furthermore, the gorgonzola was missing. When we pointed this out, they said the cheese was at the bottom. That's a truly ridiculous answer! Poor quality, poor service, and absolutely no customer focus! We'll never be returning to Happy Italy. A waste of money!

Don't expect a high-end Italian restaurant, but a nice place to eat (with kids). We arrived half an hour early but were allowed to be seated. We were given time to enjoy a drink first and then order our food. The pizzas and salads are delicious, but we weren't so keen on the pasta, so we didn't order it today. The service is attentive, but if you order an Affligem tripel and get a dubbel, they should know that there's a significant difference ;-). But hey, you're in an Italian restaurant, not a Belgian tasting room. The other drinks—wine, cocktails, and lemonade for the kids—are truly superb. I think the acoustics are a bit much for people without children, but they're also accommodating by seating groups with children at tables near the indoor playground. All in all, a super pleasant place for us as a family with two children under six.
